We spent four wonderful nights at Palios Stathmos, a beautiful family-run boutique hotel nestled among the trees just outside the traditional village of Milies. Surrounded by nature and the sound of running spring water, the hotel offers a refreshing, cool atmosphere—perfect for escaping the summer heat.||||The rooms are fully renovated, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable, with high-quality mattresses, bedding, and spacious, spotless bathrooms. Smart tech features added a modern touch without losing the charm of the place.||||The owners, Mrs. Sofia, her husband, and their son, are genuinely warm and hospitable, always eager to make your stay special. Breakfast was a daily treat—everything fresh and organic, much of it from their own garden, including eggs from their chickens.||||The location next to the historic Milies train station adds to the charm. You can take the famous narrow-gauge train for a scenic ride through the lush Pelion countryside, or enjoy the many hiking trails that start near the village.||||Palios Stathmos is a place where you instantly feel relaxed and welcome—a true hidden gem in Pelion. Highly recommended for families and nature lovers alike.

My husband and I were looking for a peaceful escape, and we were so lucky to discover the hotel Palios Stathmos! The warm hospitality of Sophia and Jo made us feel instantly at home. The renovated rooms, with their minimal aesthetic, offered a calm and restful stay. While the hotel no longer operates a restaurant, this only adds to the serene atmosphere — the only sounds you’ll hear are the gentle flow of water and birdsong.||Breakfast is a delight, especially the homemade pies — not to be missed! Just a short and scenic stroll away lies the central square of the village of Milies, where you’ll find charming traditional tavernas and cafés.||This place is perfect for anyone seeking true relaxation. It’s excellent value for money, although the overall experience is truly priceless. We’ll definitely be back soon!

Beautiful tranquil spot with large modernised rooms. Nice little train ride available as well from 100m away. Spent time on the patio of the hotel and the room veranda just soaking in the quiet and enjoying a wine.

We enjoyed our stay at this delightful hotel which overlooks the historic train station of the Little Train of Milies. Our accommodation was beautifully restored, modernized and appointed, and very clean. The hand-hewn wood work throughout displayed artisan level craftsmanship which we learned was the work of our host. Our hostess Sophia was welcoming and efficient and she was so correct that we would enjoy taking the paths to explore the surroundings and village.

If you want an incredible and authentic tiny mountain village experience that is out of a storybook, this charming gem of a hotel, is your place. From start to finish we were treated like gold and couldn't stop taking pictures of this romantic setting. Our entire family stayed at the hotel and had an excellent time. You have to focus on the great parts of the hotel and not that they don't have an "American Style" shower. This is Greece and it's all about the cultural experience. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and we loved our breakfast every morning. I highly recommend getting the balcony rooms. I've been telling all my friends about Palios Stathmos. A true and genuine greek experience and escape from the world. Brings you back in time. Thank you so much for an incredibly memorable stay for our family.

A beautiful renovated old inn, next to the old train station. The only sound you hear is the water running from the mountain next to your window. Sofia is a perfect hostess and the village is beautiful. if I have to note something negative is the tedious path from the hotel to the village but there is also a road. nevertheless you have to walk it.

We travel to Greece every other year in honor of my grandparent’s heritage, and on each visit our goal is to experience a new region of this amazingly diverse country. This most recent visit brought us to the beautiful Pelion peninsula where we happily discovered the Hotel Palios Stathmos. Our hostess Sophia & her family provided a very cozy comfortable room that included a spectacular view of the grounds, along with an appetizing complimentary breakfast each morning. We also enjoyed other meals and drinks, both on the picturesque deck in front of the hotel, and inside their pleasant dining room. This hotels kind hospitality, the historic train station, along with a variety of hiking trails will be the impetus for our next much anticipated visit . ||N.J. Dimas
