If you’re looking for a Tahoe wedding venue that is not only beautiful but also takes great care of you and your guests, look no further! As a mobile DJ, you never know what to expect when arriving at a venue. I can’t say enough about the friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating staff. Everyone was so helpful and kind! The views from the top of the mountain are gorgeous and so is the event space! The overlook from the bar was definitely a focal point and the bar staff is friendly and fast. The food is delicious and the coordination of all the things is top notch! I was very impressed! Thank you for being such an awesome venue to work with! We can’t wait to work with you again soon! 🎉💍

So many great things to say about my first trip to Palisades! When we got there we were treated with the absolute best service amongst any resort I've been to, the front desk was so helpful, he explained everything as it was our first trip!! We checked in the last Sunday before closing weekend, it wasn't to busy, I feel he went above and beyond in explaining all of the options and amenities we had to explore! 5 star service for sure. The room.... Again one of the nicest rooms amongst the resorts I've stayed at, it was just perfect. The kitchen was amazing, full fridge, stove microwave, sink and dishwasher. Great sized living room with a walkout balcony to over look the courtyard of other suites and below the stores! And finally, the snow, we went the day before closing day and it was still great ( as expected for spring snowboarding ) we hit 3 lifts that day, one being a gondola 🚡 the blue runs were awesome, nice and long!! Thank you Palisades!!! I really hope I have the opportunity to come back again!

Great place with marvelous views. Lots of people are skiing and snowboarding. It's a good experience to ride all the trams/gondola and see the magnificent view of mountains covered in snow. Huge parking space, but it tends to be full real quick. We took the bus and a day tour. There are several shops and restaurants you can choose from. I have seen dogs enjoying the place as well. Restrooms may be a bit of a challenge. I didn't see a diaper changing area, though there are several of them. We need to bring sunglasses to protect eyes from the brightness of the sun, reflecting from snow. You can learn skiing or snowboarding if you like. There are professionals that provide lessons. It is also good to visit the Olympic museum.

It would be hard to say this isn't the best ski resort in the USA. In-bounds and off-piste terrain options here are unmatched. I skied over 30 days this season and there are still parts of the resort I have not explored (I only spent a couple days exploring the terrain offerings off of the Silverado chair, particularly). I don't know what kind of skier would not be able to find exactly what they're looking for here. Everyone, from beginners to the most advanced skiers, will be able to find exactly the kind of line they've been chasing.

Google
This was our first time there. We didn't stay on a resort property, but we were in walking distance. Everyone we encountered was friendly, and the facilities were great. We had 4 days of great skiing. 2 days groomed runs and 2 days of 2 ft+ powder. There are plenty of runs for all levels, and the lift lines weren't bad. The lift tickets (midweek prices) were way less than i expected. I am glad we didn't go to Colorado during Texas spring break. It's probably easier to get to Palisades than the popular Colorado resorts. I would definitely go back.

Google
Stoked to say that besides the increase in price, everything is as awesome as ever , if not better. The base to base gondola is one of my favorite scenic rides in Tahoe. There's basically 7 mountains in one place here. Use your maps and plan your day to your level so you get the most out of your time. Don't miss out on Alpine, even though I want to keep it to myself...

Google
This was my first time skiing and it was really amazing here. The views are magnificent and the whole Olympic vibe is really cool. I loved it here! Yes, skiing is expensive but I can see why they need a lot of money to run this place. The snow is perfect this time of year for all levels! The people working here are super friendly and happy! I loved it, highly recommend coming here for even a day! I will definitely be back!

Google
What a beautiful, magical, and amazing place! We've been to Tahoe many times but never took the gondolas at Palisades before. Trust me, it's worth every penny and every second! Your experience will take you to a whole new dimension—one you'll only truly understand once you go!

Yelp
I traveled to the Palisades for my first time skiing. As a first-timer, I found the mountain pretty overwhelming, but I found the staff extremely friendly. I also thought that fellow skiers and snowboarders were very friendly, every time I ate it, people were very friendly and helped me up. I never felt outcasted for being bad. I started with a lesson in the am. I would show up an hour early before the lesson. Ed was my instructor, he was very informative and cultivated a friendly, welcoming class. The lesson was very enjoyable and gave me a good general understanding of how to get around the mountain. The lesson and the add-ons to be worth the price. After the ski day, it was fun, drinks were expensive, so plan accordingly. If you put in some time to plan a detailed trip, you will have a wonderful time.

Yelp
Will NEVER RETURN! FEB 2 - 7, 2025 Group Trip of 24 members: Paid FULL price for POOR customer service. Excuses ALL week were "short staffed". Well then "Short Bill" the patrons! *FEB 2 - Checked in at The Village and assigned bunk beds when trip leader specifically requested twins. *FEB 2 - Asked UNIFORMED Palisades Associate to confirm lifts opened at 9:00 AM... They did not know :-( *FEB 5 - Base to Base Gondola confirmed OPEN at 8:45AM on app. Were told at gondola by OPS staff 20 minute wait. At 9:00 AM, were told an HOUR longer. Had app been accurate, we would have caught 8:40 shuttle. Lost hour of first track prime skiing.

Yelp
This resort has really gone downhill in the last few years. The traffic, parking, prices, customer service, food, and lift operations are all terrible. They routinely oversell the resort, so the traffic and parking are horrible on the weekends. In the past I could get into the resort quickly and find parking easily. Now you have to wait in long lines, use a terrible online reservation system, and pay $30.00 a day for parking if you're a solo skier. During my last visit, I decided to try the park and ride option instead of the lot. I parked in Truckee at 7:45 a.m., waited outside in 14 degree weather, and didn't see a bus until 9:45 a.m. The bus driver lied and said he was late because of all the traffic in and out of Palisades resort. I found out later, he was just two hours late for work that day. After another 45 minutes on the bus, I arrived at Palisades and found 45 minute lift lines (still) at the gondola and funitel. The lift operators were late starting snow removal, so one lift, Wa She Shu, didn't open until well after 11:00 a.m. It didn't seem like they were understaffed because there were 4-5 employees standing around, at the bottom of Wa She Shu, socializing and not working. By this time I was getting hungry so I stopped for an early lunch. I tried Oh! Burger but the electronic menu behind the counter wasn't working. I asked an employee about the menu, but she barely spoke any English and just motioned toward another cashier. I went to Bluebird Chicken instead, waited as an employee struggled to ring up my overpriced food, and then needed help from a manager. When I got my food, it was over cooked and dried out. Like it had been sitting under a warmer for a long time. After eating my heat lamp chicken, I went back to We She Shu and found it was finally open. However, the turnstiles weren't working, so everyone had to duck and squeeze past them. The lift operators were playing really loud annoying death metal music on their radio, and some of the same employees were still just standing around chatting not working. After skiing for a while, my pole strap got stuck to the back of a Wa She Shu chair. As I neared the top, I started waving my arms and yelling at the lift operator to stop the lift. He wasn't paying attention, so I had to de-chair without my pole. I nearly crashed in the process. I kept yelling at the lift operator and he finally woke up and came out of his booth. Then, instead of stopping the lift like I asked, he started chasing the chair. I couldn't believe it, because the chair was way out of reach and moving too fast. I wouldn't be surprised if he was stoned. I skied down to the bottom of the left to get my pole and guess who I saw? Some of the very same employees I noticed standing around socializing earlier in the day. They'd been there for hours just hanging out and chatting with their co-workers. No wonder the lifts don't open on time. It was the worst and most frustrating skiing experience I've ever had. There are better places to spend your ski dollars than Palisades.

Yelp
... aka Squaw Valley! ;) Palisades is such a fun spot. If you're a snowboarder and or skier, these mountains are way better than Heavenly. Don't @ me - I'm just stating the facts, lol. The Village has some really nice shopping and dining. I took a snowboarding 1:1 class here, and the people are super friendly and patient. I would recommend taking the gondola to the top because there is a beautiful outlook area and there is a restaurant too.

Jeannie P.

Yelp
We have ikon pass. Whenever we go snowboarding, we will stay in the village. We love the whole village vibe. Enjoyed the all the restaurants. Every time we went, we would stay on different side to get different views. This time, we stayed on the 3rd floor with the best balcony view . The unit is so spacious, we had 3 bedrooms this time. Love this resort!

Stephanie L.

Yelp
Horrible customer service. Called to talk to a manager. Didn't get a call back til 5 hours later. Nothing was resolved all they care about is their bonuses.

Yelp
UPDATE!!! Today known as Palisades Tahoe is the iconic Olympic Village in Squaw Valley. Everything in my review of 5/6/19 is the same in content and passion with the following changes: Day Lift Passes are no longer $100 but $279 Day Pass for the Tram to High Camp is no longer $50 but $75 Ski/Board equipment is something you need to go and make a determination as it goes by the type of equipment you get, the time you have it, etc. Dining facilities at Base Camp same but ALWAY busy Drive Up Trucks and Vans available for instant waxing, small gear (sunglasses, lip balm and the like) Bottom Line- IF you go to Palisades Tahoe to ski, and you are not privileged to the Ikon Pass or Military Discounts be prepared to spend $500 PER DAY inclusive of ski/boarding, equipment rental, food and beverage.. So far; parking is free. I won't be surprised if my next visit impounds a day parking fee. BUT I STILL LOVE YOU SQUAV VALLEY, PALISDAES TAHOE

Dion C.

Yelp
Sorry, $270- $299 for an adult lift ticket is ridiculous. I came up with the family of 4 and ended up spending $1500 without rentals.

Yelp
Absolutely my favorite ski resort in CA. This is our second year here in the summertime and both years, the weather was perfect. You could not have a more beautiful setting in this gorgeous valley, everything is green and beautiful. The village is like a little French Village in the Alps that has different restaurants and a Starbucks of course. Cost wise we stayed at an Airbnb condo on the premises, we've never stayed in a room at the actually resort. When i was a kid i used to snowboard here when it was called Squaw Valley (the name got cancelled during the dark days of America when the insane took over). Take the gondola to the top anytime of the year, the kids get to join you for free. We had a snowball fight at the top in the middle of July. It was my sons favorite thing we did that week. We cannot wait to come back next year!

Athonia C.

Yelp
Go on Monday through Friday where they have happy hours and the slopes are almost empty. Worth taking even unpaid days off in my opinion.

Samantha J.

Yelp
I attended a wedding here over the weekend and bartender Iveragh was spectacular! She had great local recommendations and went above and beyond to help us have a great night. She made the event even better!

Tracy B.

Yelp
The annual Lake Tahoe Reggae Fest was held at the Palisades for the first time this past weekend and my rating is compared to where it used to be in South Lake. I loved the venue change as it was much more spacious. And yes, the downfall is the one-lane road in and out of the Palisades is an annoyance but what do you expect when 7k people shuffle in for awesome live music. Thank you to all the staff, employees, businesses, and sponsors etc to help make this festival happen! Sharing a pic and video of the hometown locals, Pipe Down, representing Tahoe!! Then a short clip of when I entered the festival.

Yelp
I learned to ski at SQUAW in the early 1970's and continued skiing in my teens on weekends with MOGUL ski club. Now as full time resident in Tahoe, this is the first year I have not bought an IKON pass. Why? Because I cannot get there on POW days or weekends when I have visitors...2 hours to drive from the North Shore. Reservations needed. Long lift lines. Speeding skiers and snowboarders who are out of control. I'm not going to spend my hard earned money on a resort that will not limited the passes they sell or manage the traffic or lift lines properly. Now with the monolithic project approved, I am totally turned off to anything Palisades provides. For over 50 years I have supported Squaw and Alpine and now they and their billionaire investors have sold out. Money over public safety. While I think the village could use improvement, not at the scale that they are proposing. Evacuation will be a nightmare gridlock situation in Fire Season and they will be liable for the dangerous, deadly fire, smoke and horrible AQI situation of suggesting "sheltering in place". How are the locals going to evacuate with so many more cars (3300 more per day!) on the road due to their HUGE development? So disappointed with Palisades, Alterra and our Board of Supervisors. Go back to the drawing board and provide something that has Tahoe residents input and in scale with community and small in / out roads.

Yelp
Heeeeeey it happens. But I'm back. Probably because I've been here a few times. Also, probably not my last. Crazy terrain which, like one would expect, changes with the weather. This last time that I went, the Base to Base Gondola connection Palisades Tahoe to Palisades Tahoe "Alpine" was running so I took it for a run. Time in the gondola carriage, I was told, was about 16 minutes from terminal to terminal. Luckily, there is enough to look at along the way. And a few stops. Was thinking about bringing a friend or two along and then looked at the single ticket costs. This (MLK) weekend, it'd set me back a few dollars. Haven't really had any run-ins with staff and the turn-style entrances after scanning your pass it makes the less personal that it has ever been. The only close interactions you may have are when the lifties hold the chairs from whacking in to the backs of your legs. Take the Base to Base gondola for kicks. It's finally operational and the view from above is tough to beat. The KT Base Bar seems to be a gathering point mid-mountain but I'm not sure I'm ever going to get food there on a regular basis. Bring friends so you can park in the carpool area. Also, bring a friend with an Ikon Pass (https://www.ikonpass.com/) to get whatever discount you can get. I'd say get your own Ikon pass but they've stopping selling them and the Palisades only season pass is even more costly than the Ikon is.

Scott H.

Yelp
Palisades is undoubtedly a beautiful area. Today was the first time in aegis I've been here when there was a huge crowd. Plenty of vendors and information booths. I simply deplore the name Palisades. Why can't we call it Olympic Valley? Palisades sounds like corporate, timeshare organization. Palisades says nothing about the Olympic history. Although I've been here at least two dozen times, today is the first time I've ever ridden the enormous gondola to the top. It's a very nice ride and the view at the top is beautiful. But the concession services at the top are barely two star. I paid almost $6 for a diet Coke.

Tara T.

Yelp
Just beautiful! I went here for the Lake Tahoe Reggae Festival and I was shocked. I'm not a skier or a snowboarder so I'm not familiar with the resorts around Tahoe even though I'm from South Lake Tahoe. I had no idea this gorgeous area was nearby. I saw beautiful bike paths, stunning mountain views, cute shops, and a nice river spot. I'm definitely driving back up here for some cycling and running to get away from Reno.

John O.

Yelp
I had the $20 burger at the Gold Coast today. Wow, I have never experienced such explosive diarrhea. The kind that splatters your back as you sit on the pot. If you are looking to lose some weight, the chefs at the Gold Coast Lodge are waiting to pur their dirty little hands your food.

Jenn J.

Yelp
New powder view from aerial tram. It's been a record year for snow fall. Beautiful mountain. The people running the mountain maintenance and operations are clowns. We got the Ikon pass this year for the family. Each time snow has fallen this season, this mountain has been unable to open their gondola, funicular and/or lifts. We waited in unmoving lines (with hundreds of other people also expecting the pow ride of their lives) for HOURS in the cold while the resorts' operations team continued to struggle and not open the lifts. That's just a few days we've spent here. We have also had the kids drink hot chocolate for hours just to learn the slopes would NEVER open for the day. The operations team think it's funny to not update their website or app with news of not opening at all for the day. Parking is not well managed. We got stuck on the road for 3 hours (no joke, stuck between the freeway exit and the ski resort) because the parking lots were catastrophically backed up. No one communicated any news in the app, in website or in road. Snow is not new to ski slopes. Snow is not new to these mountains. Other ski resorts in the Tahoe area are able to open. North Star, Heavenly, etc. We've had annual passes to other mountains and never experienced this type of operational melt down elsewhere. I'll not complain about how the slopes are not terrific for snowboarders. The rest of my family ski so the uphills after downhills kill me but not folks with poles. Did we make the right choice on buying annual passes to Palisades? Nope. Is this a good resort? Nope.

Brit A.

Yelp
Came here on NYE and it was pretty crowded but not as bad as I anticipated. The lines were a 10 min wait, max. All of the staff were super friendly. Some were eveb dancing at the chair lifts which brought the vibes up for sure. The layout of the mountain sucks when theres not a lot of snow. There weren't any long runs and not many blacks but the snow wasn't good so not their fault. They were making a lot of snow while we were there which was pretty loud and cold while on the lift but oh well. The lodges had decent food. Same price and quality as other ski resorts. However, they did have good beer deals when it was a white out which was cool to see. I wiuld recommend getting lunch at the bottom in the village. The food is way better and costs the same. It does take longer than the lodge on the mountain but its worth it. I will come back because its on the Ikon pass but also when they get more snow!

Catalina L.

Yelp
For early January it's nice the operations team has kept lifts operational and safe after all these heavy storm conditions. Lots of accessible food options in O House from the runs Parking can be tough if you arrive after 10-1030am when first chair lift opens at 9am. GO EARLY! Arrived 1030am to circle around a lot and the side road parking was already full. Eventually found a spot a walk away. Since late December the new base to base gondola is open and connects Palisades to Alpine side of the mountain. Friends have said it's convenient

Yelp
This was a first time for me ever coming to this area and it was wonderful! I was attending the CCNC & was delighted to hear that it would be at the Palisades. Check in was at 4 PM, but they happily gave me my room at 1:30PM without any extra fees which is how it SHOULD be! I had heard that the rooms didn't have A/C which was a huge concern given that it was to be 85 degrees each day. Upon entering, the room was hot but quickly cooled down with the portable A/C unit that was in the bedroom. After talking to others, it appears to be that some units have an A/C unit only in the bedroom or in the living room but not both. I was thankful to have one in the bedroom. The place was huge. Full kitchen, dining room, living room w/ fireplace, balcony, bedroom. It was really nice! There is a parking garage underneath each building which leads right up to the rooms. This place is perfect to access the shopping areas which have several eateries, shops and coffee shops (Starbucks is one of them). I am not snow bunny so I don't anticipate visiting in the winter, but I bet it is really pretty there! Hoping that the CCNC is held here in future years!

Emma V.

Yelp
Great resort. Awful parking system so I doubt we will be returning. It's too much of a hassle. Super confusing / even reservations gave me the wrong day to check for parking since they open up earlier for Holiday weekends. You should not be able to sell $200+ ski tickets and now allow people an easy way to to get parking. Parking should not sell out while you're still selling tickets. We are pretty tech savy as a family and it took 2 phone calls, 2 chats on the website, trying the reservation system and even getting stuck w giving my license plate ahead of time for the reservation (impossible for rental cars). I wouldn't recommend unless you're a local, want to shuttle or you have someone that can take you to and from. If you want any peace of mind they up-charge you $30/day for parking to avoid the whole parking system. Very disappointed w this and I can tell the nice customer service people are getting an earful from everyone who's also experiencing this.

Dan G.

Yelp
This is a happy place for me. My wife and I eloped and got married near Lake Tahoe over twenty years ago, and stayed at the Lodge that night. Absolutely love this resort. World Class in every way. They hosted the 1960 Winter Olympics, long before PC Principal changed the name. Huge mountain, excellent lift system with a tram and funitel and tons of challenging runs. They hadn't received any fresh snow in weeks, but they were able to move their snow around and we had an absolute blast with the perfect spring temps. Buttery, fun conditions as we shredded the mountain. The main route to the Village had a bunch of nice side hits before the lower part bogged down with slush. We stayed right in the Village, which has really been built up since our first visit. I loved waking up on the balcony with some coffee and watching the mountain come to life. If only I could do that every morning!

Anthony I.

Yelp
Palisades Tahoe is incredible. I recently visited for the first time with a group of friends and was surprised of all it offered. With a variety of runs for skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels, from beginner to advanced it was love at first sight. Palisades is a great option for those looking for a challenging and exhilarating snow experience. There are many amenities such as lodging, dining, and ski/ board school lessons . It was a fun, memorable experience in a beautiful setting. I'll be back soon! Anthonyxibarrax

Yelp
Second year in a row staying at the Palisades Village, which in this area. Palisades is quiet this time of year. Few restaurants open on rotating basis. Others closed for maintenance and "mini vacations " as signs say. Some shops are open. Peaceful and tranquil view of mountains.

Sean F.

Yelp
There are so many things to improve. We are a local family that will never ski or spend another $$ here. There is no value compared to the money you spend here. It's a typical pay more, get less situation. This place is fading fast in our rearview mirror.

Wendy L.

Yelp
While Palisades has a lot of runs for skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels, it is mostly tailored toward expert skiers given the terrain and number of lifts. It's not a great place to learn how to ski or snowboard because the green lifts are all up the mountain, requiring an Ariel tram ride (which is kind of a drag for beginners). Many of the easier runs (intermediate) intersect with very advanced runs so there are moderate skiers skiing alongside or crossing speed demons which can be a bit scary. I saw many close calls of skiers colliding given the speed at which skiers go at Palisades. The base-to-base gondola between Palisades and Alpine is theoretically life-altering since you can get between mountains in under 20 minutes. In reality, across the 9 days we were there, it was only open about 15% of the time because of wind and weather. The app is super helpful in letting you know which lifts are open and how long the waits are and also weather conditions at the top of the mountain. We haven't needed to call ski patrol for ourselves, but we saw another skier in distress and were able to easily call ski patrol and provide our location to them (from the app); ski patrol showed up very quickly which was great to see. Palisades is really expensive, and I wouldn't go unless I had the Ikon pass because daily lift tickets are ridiculously expensive, particularly on holiday weekends....which coincidentally are so crowded that you likely wouldn't have a chance to ski much.

Henry L.

Yelp
We came to the Palisades thinking we could use our sleds, but boy were we wrong. There were many no sledding signs, so we opted for the next option/ inner tubing! You'll head to the adventure center right across from the ski resort hotel and find parking. Once you enter, the person at the left kiosk will help you with tickets. They are about $45 per person for a 55 minute session. Our daughter had a blast using their gas powered escalator up the hill, then using the inner tube slides several times. It is fairly safe due to the design. Snowball fights are great when the kiddo needs a break from the inner tubing chaos (just watch out for "landmines" fro. Bad pet owners). Although I don't ski, the nearby chairlifts seemed to have enough variety for beginners or experts. They offer lessons here as well.

Jason L.

Yelp
Decided to plan a trip here with my IKON pass. I came here 3 years ago and had great time. IKON pass states unlimited access. Got here really early, and parked my car in the village around 7 am. The parking guy said they don't charge when I asked. Did a few runs and came back to my car to see a parking violation for $100 DOLLARS!!!? WOW, no one told me I had to make a reservation for parking. Ok, so maybe it's my bad I didn't know about the parking reservation thing, but didn't see anything on the IKON about the parking, But $100 ?! C'mon. That's just greedy.

Chi L.

Yelp
I visited the weekend of 2/25 where there was a crazy blizzard warning and snow storm and the freeways were closing. We were on the fence about the drive to palisades from SF due to the potential danger. However, our group decided to send it, and the drive was actually not bad at all. We arrived late Friday night after a 6hr drive as we traveled at about 25mph up the mountain. On our way up, we saw a good amount of salt trucks and snow plows to ensure that the roads were safe. I really appreciate all the staff working hard to make sure that the conditions are good for traveling! On Saturday, we left our Airbnb at 7:30AM and arrived at the village at Palisades at 9:15AM due to all the people coming for the fluffy snow and to watch the Tahoe Cup. It was only supposed to take us 40mins without traffic. Traffic was bad but luckily there was still plenty of parking and we made it to our ski lessons just in time! I signed up for the morning adult group ski lesson that runs from 9:30AM - 12:30PM for $290. This includes the lesson, single day lift ticket and rentals. Rentals only include ski boots and skis/poles. So remember to bring your own helmet and ski goggles or else you'll have to pay extra for it. This is actually a pretty good deal because a single day ski lift ticket is already over $200. After picking up the gear at ski school, we head straight out to where the instructors are. Luckily I was only put in a group of 3 students with instructor Dave. We were all skiing for the first time ever and Dave was a great instructor who taught with patience and enthusiasm. He took us up to the greens called Mt Meadow and taught us the basics such as easy ways to put on/take off skis, proper way to hike uphill without sliding backwards, safe ways to fall without getting hurt and leveraging your poles to get back up, how to get off the lifts smoothly, and much more! I was a slow learner and even pulled a muscle. Dave spent some one on one time with me to ensure that I understood the concepts and he guided me down the slopes. By the end of the lesson, I was able to ski down the hill by myself doing nice big Cs and pizzas. I truly enjoyed my lesson and thought it was very helpful as I started my journey of snow sports! Since the palisades cup going on, the village was very lively with vendors giving out freebies, DJ booths, and people dancing. The vibes were amazing and it was also snowing lightly. The weekend could not be more perfect!

Yelp
Really enjoyed the team to the top. Found the Olympic museum interesting and all the workers helpful and knowledgeable.

Yelp
I was scheduled for a morning 9 a.m. advanced class. The email said to leave Truckee by 7:30 a.m. to ensure getting to the class in time. We left at 6:45 a.m. but still arrived at 9:30 a.m. because of traffic. They rushed me through the process and placed me on a complete beginners class instead of advanced. I told them I was advanced but they still put me in that class. The class was a waste of my time. Luckily, I went back and was able to get an advanced class in the afternoon, in which the instructor was very good. But, I felt like I wasted my whole day in classes because of that mistake in the morning and was unable to skii with my friends. Additionally, I bought the lesson for my girlfriend as a Valentine's gift. She was scheduled for the morning beginners class. They still got her in for it, but it was completely rushed and not a useful class, as it lasted 1 hour instead of the 2.5 that we were promised. She didn't even receive a report card and was unable to get a refund or additional class. The instructors were great and friendly but our overall experience was not good, and wish the administration and process had been better as we didn't feel we got the value that we paid for.

Yelp
New fave place to ski. There are so many lifts and so many different levels! Going on a weekday allowed me to get in tons of runs. And I love the village w all the variety of eateries and the ease to get food and get back on the slopes. The kids lessons were great too. They progressed and I was able to leave them knowing they were in good hands and they'd improve.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of this mountain. If they get a lot of snow there's plenty of tracks to go around. Hope you enjoy the ride! Cheers.

Yelp
My family and I were excited to visit Palisades Tahoe for the first time on 2/19/24. It was a snowy day but so pretty. We just did a session of tubing at snoventure. Needless to say, it wasn't the best experience. I'm not sure if it was because of the fresh snow but the kids couldn't really slide all the way down. They would stop in the middle of the slope and have to walk down the rest of the way. Very disappointing. Considering you only have 55 minutes, this wasted a lot of time. They were only able to slide down about 5 times. Tickets were $54/ea. There was also an unleashed dog running around who ended up leaving fresh feces for people to step on. And yep my kids were the ones to step on it. I emailed PT for a partial refund but never received a response. We won't be coming back. Too bad.

Yelp
My review is solely based on the parking reservation system which was implemented this year. It is super inconvenient, ineffective, makes last minute weekend trips a thing of the past and can cost you your pass and up to $200 in fines! I have been skiing palisades Tahoe for over 40 years. I was on the ski team growing up and now I live outside the area but I still consider it home and my comfort zone for skiing. We used to be able to be spontaneous and decide last minute to drive up for the weekend. Or some Times things come up and your on your way but hit too much traffic or road work as you never now the conditions of the highway until your driving up. I've had drives take 3 hours and I've had it take 6. This year palisades implemented parking reservations requirements. You have to reserve a spot at either 12 or 7 on Tuesdays prior to the weekend. Parking spots are gone with in 2 minutes. It's stressful like buying concert tickets from Ticketmaster. I have had the experience of reserving Saturday and then the site glitches and I can't get Sunday. We bring our dog with us and need our car close to check on her. So if we can't park in the lot we can't go. So we have had to get in the habit of reserving every Tuesday just in case we decide to go which is a pain in the A** and discouraging to others who can't get a reservation and cancel their trip knowing they didn't get parking tickets. Now if you can't make it or decide not go then you have to cancel your reservation before 9 am or they will fine you up to $200 and/or can take your pass. So one week we skied palisade a couple days then drove to mammoth and skied there a couple days. The plan was to get back to Tahoe and ski palisades one more weekend day on our way home. But we ended up running late and didn't make it back to Tahoe before 1pm. By the time I figured out we wouldn't make it before 1 pm I tried to cancel and at it said it was too late. There are too many variables with getting to the ski areas and parking is the icing on the cake. In my experience I always try to arrive by 730- 8am and I have always had parking up close reservation or not. This year has been no different arrive early and you get a spot. Arrive late and you're gonna have to search for a spot and with patience usually you can find one. Maybe you have to wait a little while but you snooze you lose. The traffic seems no different getting to or from the resort. It's always been bad the later you arrive and still is. I've seen cars in the lot that arrived early and got a $100 ticket for no reservation and I've seen cars searching for parking even though they have a reservation because they arrived later. The reservation system is just a slap in the face to customers. Palisades has been my home mountain forever and I never thought I would ever leave it a one star review and say it but I think they may have lost me with this parking reservation system. It's a hassle, not effective, stressful and can be costly. It's not worth paying $1000 for a pass to have the threat of your pass being suspended if you forget to cancel or can't cancel in time due to traffic or other obstacles. Palisades is a vacation resort and the parking situation takes the vacation out of it. Sad day that it's come to this.

Yelp
Palisades truly went above and beyond in providing shuttle transportation for our wedding guests from Incline Village to Winters Creek Lodge. Blair and the team were fantastic, accommodating a last-minute second stop with ease and adjusting shuttle times on the day to cater to our guests' needs. Their flexibility and willingness to go the extra mile, especially with the altitude making everyone a bit more tired than expected, was greatly appreciated. Palisades offered a much more reasonable price compared to other quotes we received, making them not just a great service but also a great value. Their professionalism and ease of working with made coordinating guest transportation one less thing to worry about on our big day.

Yelp
Very nice ski resort with a lovely village of shops. Some of the shops were very welcoming of dogs in the stores. The restaurants were apprehensive about letting my good boy in, but I let them know that he is a service animal and they welcomed him with open arms. They even had a plain burger patty for him, which he found delicious. The traffic management at closing time left a bit to be desired. They pedestrian mob made it difficult to navigate with vehicles. A protected sidewalk would do a world of good.

Yelp
Loved coming here as a kid before it was Palisades. We haven't been in awhile and decided to get the Ikon pass this year. Unfortunately, it's been a letdown mainly due to the parking fiasco and we will be opting for epic next year without a doubt. You have to log on right at 12 or 7 on Tuesdays to secure a free spot to avoid paying a $30 fee for a parking reservation. The free spots sell out in minutes so we've been managing by setting recurring alarms at 6:55 and 7 every Tuesday. We come to find out today that the reason we couldn't get spots this week was because they released this weekend's spots a week in advance with no warning that this would be the case. My partner and I scrolled through their social media and the only mention of this was in replies to other upset commenters after they too couldn't find parking reservations. It also appears they only release free spots at Alpine (at least at 7pm on the many weekends we've gone so far) so if you want to ski at Palisades you just have to cross your fingers that the base to base gondola isn't on wind hold. All this would be fine if it actually worked. Unfortunately, we have spent nearly an hour multiple times this season lapping the parking lot waiting for someone to leave. You would think that they would be smarter than to oversell their parking since... isn't the point of the system to solve this issue? The resort is OK but it's not worth the price tag of an Ikon pass. A spring ski pass at Sierra at Tahoe is under $300 (which still gave us 3+ months of skiing last year) or you can access multiple nice Tahoe resorts (like Kirkwood) without these restrictions on the epic pass. Loved this place growing up, but I don't think we'll be making Palisades our ski destination anymore in the future.

Yelp
The people who run sign ups/tickets at the ski school are less than helpful. Clearly this is nothing but a job for them, totally get it, but maybe think about not being in the service industry then? In general, Palisades and its services are not the best. If you have a choice, I say get an EPIC pass and go to Whistler (or any other mountain). Infinitely better experience!

Yelp
Not my favorite resort but you can't complain when you have comp tickets. I prefer the smaller resorts like Sierra at Tahoe but we still have fun here. Nice long runs and beautiful views.

Yelp
I bought a snowboarding afternoon lesson at Squaw Valley including a 2.5 hours group lesson, lift ticket, and rental and really enjoyed it. Squaw Valley was much bigger and busier than Alpine Meadows where I took the ski lesson the day before. I'm glad I was able to check out both. I liked Squaw Valley which has a village, restaurants, and shops. But I totally see how it could be more daunting for a beginner like myself compared to Alpine Meadows. My group lesson itself was great. Although it was meant for a group, it ended up being just me and another person. So it felt like a private lesson in some ways. Our instructor Mike was very friendly and patient. I really enjoyed having him as my instructor. The thing is that snowboarding was so much harder to learn than skiing as a beginner in my opinion. I was struggling for sure and was not able to snowboard on my own by the end of the lesson. But that doesn't make Mike less of an awesome instructor! Snowboarding is just very hard to learn! I'm glad I was able to try both and compare. My conclusion is that snowboarding is not for me. So I'll stick with skiing for now and keep practicing! I can totally see myself coming back to Squaw Valley and ski on the slope here!

Yelp
Solid 4+/5. Took the kids here for Christmas weekend. We had a great time. Friendly staff. Excellent service. The room was clean and spacious just as we anticipated. It was our first time here. We are already planning the next visit. Many tasty food options on site. Our favorites were Tremigo Mexican Kitchen and Fireside Pizza. For us skiing is the best option at this resort and the view from the top is breathtaking .. But they do have other things to keep those who do not ski occupied. I highly recommend this resort. Location 4/5 Staff 5/5 Cleanliness 4/5 Attention to details 4/5

Yelp
Palisades Tahoe is an epic ski resort located in Northwestern Tahoe, featuring a 9,000ft peak, 42 lifts, and 270 trails! It's a massive resort (6,000 acres). Palisades has a nice blend of trail difficulty levels, so rest assured everyone in your group can ski at their ability. They even hosted the 1960s winter Olympics, officially making it a California Historic Landmark. How cool is that? Palisades offers multi-day lift passes earlier in the year at an extremely discounted rate. If you're not going to purchase the season pass, these multi-day passes are the next best option to keep the costs down, so it's very important to set calendar reminders to snag the passes as soon as they go on sale. You'll want to take advantage of this otherwise you'll pay close to $200 for a single-day pass. Aside from being an incredibly fun place to ski, the village at the base of the mountain is magical. There are multiple restaurants and large communal outdoor fireplaces to bond over. It's what you'd imagine out of a Hallmark Christmas movie.

Yelp
I don't understand the low rating, this was the highlight of our vacation to Tahoe in spring. We were lucky enough to go right after a snow day and the views via the tram were amazing! And better pricing than heavenly (half the price). The stop mall below has some great food too. The cafe at the top of the vista point had good coffee ! We weren't prepared to ski this time but next time this will be our go to spot! The customer service was also very good, helped us book tics via phone and very friendly people operating the tram.

Yelp
Large area. Efficient lines and friendly employees all around. Not much snow but the energy from staff makes this place go from a 3-4. Nice lodge area

Yelp
Pro: The resort is huge with lots of greens and blues for intermediates like me. I've yet to ski on the Alpine Meadows side. The lifts and trails are well marked and groomed. I like that there's a lot of blue slopes (40% of their trails) for me to challenge myself, and then I finished the day on the green and it was just like eating dessert - fun and easy! Came here a few times before and most recently, yesterday (a tuesday) and there was so much parking! There's plenty of areas to rest and order food. The bathrooms are spacious and clean. We ordered beer and fries and the fries were surprisingly yummy, crispy and well seasoned ! I was so excited (nothing worse than paying $8 for soggy fries). In terms of safety protocol, they require everyone to wear a mask, and the lift line has a gate equipped with automated scanner of your pass. Con: It's expensive!!! If you don't purchase it in advance, it's $189/day. Luckily, I've been able to find some good deals to make the pass less than $100/person (by purchasing a norcal ski membership which offers Buy One get one free ticket).o

Yelp
Traffic! If there is a problem, do something about it. More signs, more people, more. Do more. Limit access. Refund ikon holders. Time is money. See you never again.

Yelp
December 2021 Palisades Tahoe, aka skiers' and snowboarders' paradise, aka Squaw Valley, is formerly Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows Ski Resort. After several decades, their name changed over a year ago. Thank you Palisades Tahoe for changing your name to reflect your respect for the indigenous people. Words are powerful and can hurt but words, names, titles also heal and empower. Thank you for the positive move. With that said, Palisades Tahoe was a blast for my son and his buddies. No backflips or 360s (thank goodness) for safe, exhilarating runs. It's humongous! It is incredible how large the area is. Friendly and helpful staff! Smooth operations and flow. Tip: Keep warm. Check the weather weather report. Dress appropriately and do not forget your gloves and Go Pro.
