11 Best Coffee Shops in Vancouver | Condé Nast Traveler

"One of the top roasters in town, Pallet now has several shops around Vancouver, each one tailor-made to its location. But it all started at this East Van spot, which also happens to be the roaster. The building was once a fish-processing plant, and the owners—a group of friends with a shared passion for coffee and food—gutted it and started from scratch, creating a space that mixes the neighborhood’s industrial feel with a woodsy warmth. When it comes to the coffee itself, the breadth is remarkable, with ten different types on rotation at any given time; the build-your-own sandwich option is also popular. (We recommend the avocado bruschetta.)" - Jennifer Van Evra

Pallet Coffee Shop is an absolute gem! The coffee is simply amazing – always fresh with a rich aroma that sets the perfect tone for the day. Whether you're stopping in for a cozy breakfast or grabbing a quick takeout, the selection of croissants, desserts, and cookies is truly delicious. The ambience is warm and inviting, with a small patio for sunny days and a comfortable indoor seating area that’s perfect for catching up with friends or getting some work done. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, making every visit a pleasant experience. Highly recommend for coffee lovers and anyone looking for a great local spot!

Americano was so strong. Normally I am okay with the taste. Also I wasn’t finish the coffee yet and I was buying pastry, staff just got my coffee before I finish. I wanted to finish with my pastry. It wasn't to much so I didn't say but they should ask before take it. Super clean place and good silent patio.

Google
What a lovely place! We had moccha and latte, and raspberry 🍰. Great coffee 😀 and look at the cute "flowers" the barista made!!! Very creative. Street parkings, not too bad.

Google
Lovely location, great service, lots of sitting space. Quality coffee and good options of pick me ups and baked goods. The ham & cheese croissant was delicious, my flat white was perfect. The cappuccino to go was fabulous and omg the banana bread is to die for! I’ve been to many Pallet locations and I think this is my favourite!

Google
i got the cold brew and it was sour. the wifi kinda sucks sometimes, other than that the place is nice and clean, service is good.

Google
Came here for the brunch menu and enjoyed every dish! This location is the prettiest amongst all Pallet and we love the wide selection of pastries as well! Definitely one of the best coffee shops in this area!

Google
I’ve tried their earl grey muffin, strawberry chocolate scone, and almond croissant, all were very good. Coffee was good too. The only issue is that it’s very difficult to find parking on weekday mornings. Weekends were fine.

Google
We liked the crispy French toast. It was crispy and topped with cinnamon sugar, ice-cream and maple syrup, Definitely my comfort food for brunch. Benny and pork belly were also good. Really enjoyed the dining experience here.

Yelp
Excellent coffee. Delicious banana bread; not too sweet, which I absolutely loved. I asked for a recommendation and the lovely guy at the counter suggested this and I am so glad he did because it was one of the better banana breads out there. I wanted a small latte but their smallest size was a 12 oz, so he suggested an 8 oz flat white. I agreed and it was a good decision because it was just the right size for me (8 oz) and it was excellent! Great vibe, clean place and very friendly staff. Was a little crowded today but I managed to get a seat.

Yelp
Just had Mother's Day brunch at their west Hastings location and found a huge blonde hair inside my sandwich The other plates tasted good but I wouldn't return because of that

Yelp
This is a hidden gem. On the outside it looked small and cozy, once I walked in, I was wow'd by how much room there is inside. There are multiple levels here and outside seating. Service was prompt, polite and courteous. Only had coffee this time. However the looked amazing though. Because I didn't try the food this time I'll give a 4/5 stars. Next time I'll have something to eat and from what I saw being served to other customers, I'm sure I will upgrade to a five star rating!!

Yelp
Took me a while to find a decent coffee house in metro, but Pallet ticks all the boxes: good beans and roasting, talented baristas, and an attention to detail about what separates a run-of-the-mill espresso from something worth drinking again and again. Both their in-shop product and the beans they sell for a reasonable price (I'm just finishing up their single-origin DRC Nyabirehe) are excellent. And if you have time, they make a pretty decent breakfast/brunch, too. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Great neighborhood coffee place. Good energy! Close to local parks. The barista made a heart for my coffee - reminded me to love always.

Yelp
Wow my first Coffee in Canada and I have to say I'm pretty excited about it! Not only was the quality of the coffee delicious the service was so sweet and charming I would love to make this my local spot! They have some seating outside on a little deck as well as inside in a upper loft area. But they are ensuring Covid protocols of space to check out an order at the counter with protection for everyone in the form of a Lucite division between the shop and the clients. Pastries were quite tasty and I have to say I loved my scone. Equally delicious as what we all came for, our coffee! I had a oat milk mocha. TL/dr: some of the best coffee you'll have anywhere!

Yelp
We are so glad to have found this place through a Groupon, it's amazing! The French toast and pork belly sandwich were delicious as well as beautiful. The service was attentive throughout, and they offered a little scone on the house due to the wait. We adored the industrial cozy design and would not hesitate to return.

Yelp
Good coffee. Good service. Nothing to shout about but overall very good. Looks like some tasty snacks but we didn't get to try any. Near an organic grocery so what a great combination.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent coffee. We had a mocha, a quad shot latte, and a coffee so I feel we got a good idea of how consistent they are. The pastries are good but a lot of places have good pastry and I feel like few of them are out of this world. What was fantastic were the sandwiches. I tried the vegetarian breakfast one and it was so savoury and good that I ordered a build your own sandwich for the plane. (Bring your own food on Flair!) Deducting one star for the rather chilly ambience but the service was fine and I'll go there again when I get back.

Yelp
Bringing coffee love to your community, Pallet Coffee is the place to head to for a solid cup of specialty coffee! Being one of the most comforting lattes I've ever had, Pallet recently introduced the Jaffra Latte to their signature drink menu. A heartwarming cup of specialty coffee that isn't too sweet or too bitter with the perfect hint of chocolate and orange. The two marshmallows were also a nice addition as it made me feel like I was cozied up by a warm campfire/fireplace. For the coffee connoisseurs out there, Pallet uses their Benchmark espresso in this latte.

Yelp
Love this location. Lots of seating and clean modern space. You can also see the kitchen through the indoor glass windows which is pretty neat. Always friendly service here and their baked goods and sandwiches are yummy. Recently went to try their hot chocolate creation for hot chocolate fest. It was called 'Living in a Lychee Dream'. Flavours of lychee and rosemary with a delicious shortbread cookie. Creative flavours that paired very well!

Yelp
Pallet is one of my top coffee shops in the city! Not only is the environment inviting and friendly, but they're coffee and espresso are amazing! My favorite bean is the benchmark! It's dark chocolate notes make it sweet and subtle. Defiantly recommend either an iced or hot mocha. This local business treats their staff and customers so well and I always enjoy stopping by!

Yelp
I dropped by here and picked up a delicious oat milk latte! It was super delicious and I love the look of their Semlin location!

Yelp
Pour-overs and drip coffee were ever-present on the menu and while they seem to have an excellent rapport with a few coffee shops -- since their bags are sold in a couple places I visited -- I went for a latte on the morning we visited since something milky sounded grand. Smooth and frothy but evenly robust with some fun latte art. I looove ricotta cheese so while it was super #basic I went for the *Ricotta Avocado Toast* for $8.50, as well. This came with a side salad which was super clutch since my stomach needed it. Toasted sour dough bread the mashed up avocado-ricotta cheese sat on was rather small though. Great blend of ingredients even if the concoction reminded me slightly of an egg salad (not a bad thing). They are otherwise very noteworthy for their build-you-own breakfast sandwich option which my friend did order. Choose your bread, sauce, cheese, greens, and meat for $8.75! Plenty of street parking, lots of seating inside (upstairs and down), and the sunshine splashing in through the large glass windows made the space very inviting. They brew in-house here so the smell of fresh coffee beans emanates throughout the space. Perfect for a quick stop, or an intimate mid-morning chat session.

Yelp
Nice little shop. Great sandwiches, at least for me, and fast and friendly service. Sometimes drop in before work and always got on my way with very little delay.

Yelp
I've gone there and tried a couple things. Mostly their customizable breakfast sandwiches. They are pretty good but quite pricey and VERY greasy. The baked goods are always amazing and perfect sweetness and great selection. Everyone working is always super nice and chatty, overall it's a pretty great place with lots of seats and good interior.

Yelp
Very well done coffee. We tried 2 types of pour over, both of which were excellent. Breakfast sandwich was good, fun to build your own. Overpriced avocado toast IMO. Thank you local roasters of world!

Yelp
This location of Pallet Roasters is bright, open and welcoming. I just went in for a coffee but was happy to also take a peek at their menu. I'll return to try their food sometime. I like their selection of breakfast options and sandwiches. The coffee was strong, just the way I like it. The seating area looked comfortable and modern. It's a nice place to stop by for coffee to stay or coffee to go.

Yelp
Pallet has coffee beans that my husband really enjoys. We stop by once in awhile to purchase some beans to take home. At about $20 a bag of beans, it is a nice treat for some quality coffee made at home.

Yelp
Let my inner Vancouver Basic Girl free this rainy Sunday morning when I popped into Pallet Coffee Roasters clad in lululemons, a denim jacket, and a blanket scarf to order my standard Americano and Avocado Ricotta Toast. An order of Avocado Ricotta ($8.50) shared between the two of us, we also ordered 2 poached eggs for $3. Featuring a mixture of smashed avo and ricotta with sprouts, radish, and most importantly pickled onions spread evenly over a slice of sourdough, this light lunch felt well worth it in all of its lemon zesty glory. Served with a simple side salad of mixed greens dancing in a delightfully sweet dressing, this is what dreams are made of for Vancouver Basic BBs so my heart was full this morning. And don't even get me started on those pickled onions because those were the real highlight for me. I guess I must just get what I want because light and refreshing were what I requested and light and refreshing were what I got. Just under $20 for two to dine, would I come again? Uh - do I even have a Live Love Laugh sign in my home? Of course, I'll be back.

Yelp
One of the best coffee shops in east Vancouver! Well exterior and interior designs! Settings can be found inside the outside the cafe. If you are sitting on the upper floor, you can see how their staff make sandwiches or their food, take orders and make coffee. We ordered a latte, flat white and classic French croissant. They were excellent! When we were eating the classic French croissant, we wanted to order more addicting to their food. Their latte and flat white were very good that they had their own character, style and flavour. We really wouldn't mind to drink them every day! If we would be in the same neighbourhood, we must have come back to try other coffee drinks and food/pastries. Unfortunately they were sold out of their almond croissants when we got there at noon!

Yelp
It was a Saturday afternoon. The hubs and I just finished another thing around the area and wanted some coffee. Fellow Yelpsers said this place is good, so here we are! The place is surprisingly not that busy and free street parking is available. It looks like the place has 2 levels (with a sublevel for accommodating 4 tables), but can't check out the tasting room as it is closed when we were there. The hubs and I ordered the cappuccino and macchiato (double) and they are ready in 5 mins. The menu's pricing is very reasonable. With coffees from $2+ to $4ish. We didn't get food, but the kitchen is full open viewing and it looks like it is made to order. Pricing for food doesn't appear to expensive-$8-10ish. The cappuccino ($3.6): darker roast with citrus ending notes. The creaminess came from the milk with balanced it off quite well. The macchiato ($3.6): I was asked if I want a double or a macchiato with espresso on the side. Being not sure what I want, I went with the double. The double came with a small glass of Pierre mineral water. The macchiato has more caramel notes and it is pretty decent sized. The mineral water helped with clearing the palate. Overall: we like the atmosphere and it is nice quiet location tucked away from the main corridor (Hastings).

Yelp
If this place was anywhere that was in some area that had high foot traffic I guarantee line-ups and packed tables would be the normal scene here. For me, I am glad a place like this opened close enough to my neighbourhood, still a drive, but nothing where I have to fight off cars, fight for parking, and in the end... fight for a spot to enjoy this great brew they are cooking up here. The first thing you wonder is... where is Semlin? Well use your smart phone and find it... you can't miss the place once you get here, with all it's windows, taking up a nice square building with the big words 'PALLET' right on the building, it's got that new age, 'hipster' type feel, but it's missing that traffic that these normal places usually command once popping up in areas.... for now! When you come in here you get a great feeling of roominess created by the high ceilings over the main checkout area. This place is clean, and simplistic, and very open, from the balcony area with a few tables, to the bottom area, you can almost see the entire operation when you are in here. They don't even hide their backroom, and the dishwashing that takes place, which actually gives a very comforting feel of what they are doing...... nothing hidden! So why do they need such a big place... and why doesn't it have more seating... this place is a roasting house.. so they do everything on sight, but most of us will just be coming in for the coffee to get our day going, that is fine. I am a creature of habit, and I keep going for their normal drip coffee... sometimes if I am there too late (I think they don't do drip after 3:30) I do not always get what I want... but I haven't tried any of the sweet drinks they have.. from their lattes... etc. They also have some sweet baked treats here.. not too sure where they get them from.. but they offer a cut-up of some samples everytime I have been there. My friend is a sucker for this kind of thing, as she always orders this white chocolate berry loaf with her latte. I've been here on sunny days.. and rainy days.. and regardless of when you are here, you will get a beautiful brew in your cup, for me and my pure black coffee the acidity is always just right, such a smooth cup, and also being able to enjoy it while being in this comfortable surrounding. Definitely a place you can let time pass, before they kick you out at 5 (when they close). If you are looking for a real good coffee, and have some time not to just come in here and run.. but to sit down and enjoy the surroundings... this is how coffee should be, don't be surprised if time flies by.

Yelp
My "skinny" latte was smooth, balanced, quite delicious and didn't take long even though it was busy. The cashier seemed genuinely cheerful, chatty and happy to be there - you don't get that much in this town anymore It was a little busy when my friend and I visited for our catch up: the space was bustling but had a lovely relaxed vibe on another rainy raincity day.

Yelp
Seriously delicious breakfast sandwiches (made to order) and great local coffee. Relieved to have found a nice local spot during my week stay in Vancouver Bc. Service is uber friendly and decor is modern and tasteful. Parking can be tough since it's off a main road and shares some spots with neighboring business, but try local streets (and walking) instead. Overall, a great local coffee and lunch spot in the Hastings area of VBC.

Yelp
I'm scared to post this review because I don't want this place to get so popular that I can't get a seat, however I want them to be wildly successful so they stay open! My solace is that it is a neighbourhood cafe off the beaten path - but in a year the residential development around here may change the landscape considerably. This Pallet location has the best of everything. Absolutely amazing coffee, delicious reasonably priced food all around $10, WiFi, power plugs at most tables, friendly staff, good music. Bright, open shared tables, cozy hidden nooks, outdoor patio! Seriously what else could I want?! The food tops out at about $8-10 and ranges from cafe pastries to make-your-own breakfast sandwiches with a variety of breads and ingredients. The coffee is absolutely sublime with the full range of espresso bevies and expertly crafted pour overs. I was pissed because the power just went out in my house and I was looking for someplace nearby where I could get some work done and stay connected and powered. Now I'm hoping my power goes out every day as an excuse to come to Pallet!

Yelp
I've recently moved into the Sunrise-Hastings neighbourhood, and I've spent the last 2+ months in search of my new morning coffee/breakfast spot. Living in the Fraserhood, I was lucky to have choice between JJ Bean, Prado, and Le Marche. At Howe & Pacific, I had Tartine. And now, I'm proud to call Pallet my morning home. The coffee here is exceptional, which is to be expected of any place roasting their own coffee. What really makes me want to spend every morning here is their delicious menu of breakfast items, sandwiches and toasts. Their Classic French breakfast sandwich is the stuff dreams are made of, with ham, egg, and veggies on a fresh croissant giving me a morning nourishment that brings me back from the dead each and every time. Their Avocado Bruschetta is another amazing breakfast for when my body needs some TLC... Poached egg on a bruschetta mix featuring bits of tomatoes, onion, and a lot of avocado. The toast is fresh, the arugula salad a refreshing side. These are my 2 faves, but there is so much more here worth trying. What else... The space has plenty of seating; I love pulling up to the bar by the baristas and watching the behind-the-counter action as I wait for my food to come out. The outside patio's a great place to hang out as well. The staff are friendly and familiar (which is very important for any place I frequent), and being on Semlin, they're charmingly tucked away from the busy traffic of Hastings, which gives me a momentary mental escape from the daily hustle. Highly recommended, check it out!

Yelp
Popped in on a sunny afternoon while headed to the Continental Sausage Outlet 'round the corner. I've been wanting to try Pallet for awhile and have heard nothing but good things. The cafe is really nice and airy, lots of natural light. I can definitely see myself spending a few hours here working and enjoying some me time. Seeing as we'd already had a bite to eat, we each grabbed an iced latte to go but I must admit I was tempted by the croissants and sandwiches on display. I also liked how they have an open kitchen/roastery where you can see how the food is made and the beans roasted. The lattes were well-balanced and delicious and the staff were super personable. My boyfriend had a question about their afterburner and they were very knowledgable and friendly. If this location weren't so out of the way, we'd be here more often, but we'll definitely be back whenever we're in the area!

Cloud N.

Yelp
I love the food and the bright clean atmosphere at this coffee shop. My only complaint is the avocado toast isn't big enough. The bread is thin and there's only one piece. For $16 it should at least be as filling as a sandwich with two pieces. I ordered it for lunch but found I was still hungry afterwards
google avatar

Bren K.

Yelp
This is my favorite coffee roaster in Vancouver. I'm used to fancy coffee (Blue Bottle, Stumptown, Sight Glass) and this coffee roaster is top 5 on my list. The cappuccino was perfection. Light on the milk and just the right amount of coffee taste. The cold brew came in a fancy bottle that I wished I brought back home.
google avatar

Sri S.

Yelp
Loved the ambiance. Great coffee - strong flavor, not too acidic, just perfect. Went twice in 2 days we stayed at Vancouver. Avocado toast was amazinggg
google avatar

Victor D.

Yelp
A trendy spot in a family neighborhood - get the drip coffee as it is definitely worth it and has good body and finish Other than it is nice hangout spot or meet up joint - Couldn't find anything other around
google avatar

Justin L.

Yelp
A delightful and much needed addition to the neighborhood. Beans are roasted on the premises and there are three seating areas to accommodate different sitting scenarios: window bar, tables, and upstairs tables overlooking the main room. The cortado and iced Americano I ordered were both nice and smooth: flavorful yet not extreme in either acidity or bitterness. Baked items are spot on: flakey croissants, pain au chocolat, square-shaped scones, brownies... Of the meat sandwiches, I like the pulled pork best. Laid-back, industrial-chic, friendly service. You and your friends can also play spot-the-pallets!
google avatar

Faraaz J.

Yelp
Great new Cafe that roasts their own beans! I know there have been a few grumblings about staff, but honestly, I've never faced an issue. The good: - Baked goods are done in-house and taste great. - Single origin espresso that they roast was great. Not as "bright" as 49th which is a great change of pace. Good extraction. - In an area with low foot traffic - Great minimal decor. The bad: - The hours. On weekdays, closing at 430 on weekdays is ridiculous, in my opinion. - Very limited parking outside. - Two outlets in the Cafe for our use. - No back support on any chairs. Overall, I'd recommend it. If you manage to get there for lunch or breakfast (served until 2) I think it's well worth it.

Yelp
I was here with my bf one Sunday afternoon for a late lunch after purchasing their Groupon deal which was 20.99 for 2 create your own sandwiches, 2 pastries and 2 tea or coffee. I rarely give 5 stars to places but this place deserve a 5 star for their food and services. This place was close to home and at a nice walk-able distance. On a sunny Sunday afternoon, this place is pretty packed at 2pm in the afternoon. There were 2 or 3 tables outside the cafe with a bar table against the window, 3-4 tables inside, about 4 tables upstairs and a bit of space next to the coffee bar for people to sit. Though I would suggest maybe more comfy chairs (that may affect the atmosphere of the place) and stable tables. About 2 tables upstairs were wobbly. I love how once I walk into the cafe, there is not only a strong smell of coffee (they do roast their coffee in house) but also a nice smell of food and pastries. I have to say this place is very hipster like where it's really bright inside. I wouldn't mind sitting here all day with my laptop and enjoy a cup of coffee. The kitchen is a open concept kitchen where customers can see how their food is made and how coffee is roasted. We went to order our food and drinks to find out that they ran out of some of the ingredients from their create your own sandwich menu. So, they offered us the regular sandwiches on their lunch board. Which I had no problem accepting because I didn't really want to think of what I want in my sandwich. I mean I did want a relaxing/chill Sunday. I got a London Club sandwich with an apple turnover and an iced vanilla latte. My bf got roast beef sandwich, gluten free nanaimo bar and a hazelnut latte. All the sandwiches came with a side of greens. Pretty healthy in my sense though bf thinks that was too much greens for him. I really liked the sandwich I had. But I forgot to tell them no tomatoes because I don't know why I don't like raw slices of tomatoes. I loved the apple turnover because I liked how it was so fluffy. The coffee was really good. Bf liked his food too. Only too much greens for him. We sat upstairs because at the time we couldn't find any seats on the main floor. We noticed that the place was a warehouse before hand and it was very impressive for the owners to turn it into a coffee shop. Though I can imagine it being pretty warm during the summer time. We also suggest people who are probably 6 feet tall or taller to not go upstairs. Or you will have a hard time walking around because you might hit your head without ducking down. I'm about 5"7.5 and i'm like a few inches away from the ceiling when I stand up. Overall, I would come back here even if I were to pay full price for this place. Their service was great. The guy behind the counter patiently explain the Groupon deal to us (yes i have a tendency to ask in case they've changed anything in the details of the Groupon). He even checked up on us while he was picking up empty plates upstairs and helped us packed our other half of the sandwich to go. I don't expect this type of service at a coffee shop. Especially when there was only like about 2 people working behind the till, 1 in the kitchen and I believe the owner was sitting by the bar just enjoying his lunch while he picks up empty plates whenever he sees it. If anyone is in the area, give this place a shot. It may look like your average coffee roaster place with food but the way they make you feel is also just as important. So, kudos to them that they can keep this up even when the place is busy.

Yelp
Over on the Eastside of town, Pallet has already become known for its open and inviting warehouse feel amidst its caffeinated setting. Full of character and charm, the cafe seating area overlooks the workmanlike vibe of the kitchen and an obvious wood theme and decor inside and out. As for the coffee, their cafe mocha was refreshingly light and not too sweet. I've become quickly obsessed with the ornamental hanging lights among all the clean finishes and elements full of style. My standard drink of an Americano was crisp and smooth tasting and well-brewed. The sharp espresso flavour was on point for my afternoon fix. Pallet's around the corner location, subtle yet ornate style is authentically appealing, not to mention the good coffee and eclectic morning/afternoon menu of sandwiches and quick bites.

Yelp
Great place to treat yourself or that special someone! If you're lucky they'll be roasting when you come. Be forewarned though, the coffee is a bit on the pricier side. But oh is it good! Love how Vancouver has so many indie coffee companies! The rest of the country could learn from this!!
google avatar

Celeste K.

Yelp
Went to the location in East Van. The staff was super friendly. Had the Ethiopia pour over which was like a blueberry muffin in a cup. Very exceptional, I also got the cappuccino and it was on point!!! So good! Along with it I got blueberry white chocolate muffin, which went perfectly with my pour over. I have had a lot of coffee in my life, a lot of good stuff, but Pallet Coffee Roaters takes the cake for the best coffee I have ever had! And that's saying something because I'm sort of, kind of a coffee snob. A nice coffee snob though :). Also, love their logo, love that in incorporates the coffee plant! Ok, I'm going to stop fangirling on this awesome place. But if you're in Vancouver and are really into good coffee, run, don't walk to Pallet!

Yelp
I was wandering around this neighbourhood caffeine deprived and I came across this shop. It is a true hidden gem! This place roasts its own coffee, and the staff are super down to earth and the coffee is delicious. There are some hipster snack options too. I decided to try the quinoa date square, and it was a hit. It also looks like that they have delicious sammiches, which I will try next time!

Yelp
Pallet Coffee Roasters in Vancouver's East Village neighborhood 323 Semlin Street is a full service coffee bar with freshly made in house sandwiches and baked goods. It is just around the corner from Basho Cafe. The high ceiling space is gorgeous with pallet boards and waterfall dangling light bulbs. Partners Sharif and Shane of Pallet Coffee has a background in construction and used to own a cafe in Yaletown. Nowadays, they are sourcing coffee and tea for your enjoyment. I like their cappuccino with a earthy, robust and sharp espresso finish. I like the subtle quietness of Pallet Coffee's corner lot. It is perfect for those quiet moments you want to have some "me" time and get some work done. There are plenty of seats in a mezzanine split level.

Yelp
First time visiting Vancouver, and we were staying in an AirBnB nearby. We woke up and checked for coffee shops and Pallet popped up. I am so glad it did! The inside has a very thought out layout with a wood and industrial feel with an outside nook and an upstairs nook. I like how they had the glass separating wall revealing their backstage action. I got a latte which was very good, beautiful latte art and strong coffee taste. The breakfast sandwiches, though, were to die for! You get to choose what you want which is a nice feature. All in all, I loved Pallet and would definitely recommend it!

Yelp
My GF and I stumbled upon this place by accident. We went for a stroll and ended up here for a coffee and a muffin. The muffin was excellent, its so difficult to find a decent muffin to go a long with a coffee nowadays! The latte was also delicious, and my GF really enjoyed her matcha latte. I'm going to give them five stars but the only thing missing was good conversation. There was no friendly banter with the cashier or the barista. I may be 'splitting hairs' but a friendly host would have made this experience absolutely perfect! But I will return, for sure! Nice job guys!

Yelp
Even though this place is open concept with the bakery and coffee roaster in easy view it seats only about 19 in a squeeze. There are only a couple of electrical outlets as well so be sure to have power for your laptop. The coffee here is pretty good and the bakery items and sandwiches look really good at reasonable prices. Decor is modern minimalist using west coast decorating.

Yelp
If you're looking for some really good & strong roast in the East Vancouver area. This is your place! Americano, cappuccino, mocha's.... they are all great here. You can't go wrong. We also ordered some breakfast sandwiches, and for the price I got to say I was pretty impressed with the quality, presentation and the amount of food we got.

Yelp
Great coffee, good music, not overwhelmingly busy, friendly service, and nice interior design... What not to like? Will be a regular for sure.

Yelp
The double-baked croissants at Pallet are some of the greatest things of all time. They have almond and chocolate hazelnut... and they are out of this world. However, the coffee is terrible! I think it's a Vancouver trend, but it's sour and way too strong. And WHY would you do a 40-second espresso pour? It makes it sludgy and excessively strong... undrinkable. I have also tried the pour overs, and I had to leave the whole cup because it was sour as hell, even after I loaded it up with cream. But apparently people in Vancouver love this sort of thing, so ... ? If someone wants to meet you here, though, come for the double-baked croissants and the lovely space.

Yelp
I love this place! Love the staff, love the owners. It's clean and pretty and they have some of the best coffee products for sale (french press, aeropress, and much much more) -Double Baked Almond Croissants!!! yes!!! -Make your own Sandwich!! yes!!! -Almond Mochas!! yes!!! This place rocks. I love it. If I owned a coffee shop, this is what I'd like it to be like, though I'd play different music but that's a personal thing. ;-)
