5/5 Excellent All the staff were so friendly and very helpful, manager Teegan was great. Kept us informed during the Tropical Cyclone we had. Big shout out to the kitchen staff. Food was amazing. Really enjoyed a relaxing stay, even with a full night awake. One bit of info. Fly into Proserpine airport. Much easier access than Hamilton Island.

Everything about our four night stay was superb, except the cabin accommodation. Our cabin was dirty, and in need of a big makeover. The entire show is run by ‘backpackers’ from various different countries, and we found them to be very engaging, and at times it was obvious that they were run off their feet, presumably because of short staffing, but they were all friendly and looked after us. The location, views and ambiance is second to none. The meals, and we tried most on the menu, were delicious, although if like me you don’t like salt on your food, was a turn off at our first sitting, but rectified from then on by requesting that no salt on my meal. The dining, bar and pool areas were excellent if a little bit unkempt, and the whole resort was very peaceful and quiet due to no radios or televisions in the accommodation. The one big turnoff was our cabin, it was dirty and in need of some maintenance. One of our glass sliding doors to enter/exit the cabin was filthy and obviously hadn’t been cleaned in a long while, it also couldn’t be locked when leaving to go to the beach or pool etc, as one of the doors had come off the rails on one side. The main living space and bedroom were fine but the bathroom/toilet was very badly in need of a makeover. The shower door was rusty, the toilet seat loose, the entry/exit door had years of grubby hand marks (it had obviously never been cleaned in a long while) the tap on the sink was loose and some of the fittings were damaged. The whole experience for us was wonderful as we didn’t let the negatives spoil our stay, which was for my wife’s 65th birthday, but I think that before we would return, the accommodation would have to be updated. I would advise anyone, to book directly with the resort, as I would’ve got our stay for half the price had I done that and not through a booking agent 🤬 that was my fault 🤔

We stayed at Palm Bay recently and would like to provide our perspective. The good: The location, serenity, garden and pool were really well maintained. Staff were generally very helpful to accomodate our needs. The chefs were wonderful, the food we had were high quality. House keeping staff were fast and careful with their job Prices are generally reasonable by typical hotel and restuarant standards at the Whitsundays. The not so good: The rooms needs a major deep clean and maintenence. Many reviews compained about the moud and lack of cleanlines. We think its maintenance problem as many of cleanliness issues are related to the accumulation of dust, rust, mould over time. Facilities were also degraded since the new owners took over. The Tennis court is no longer in usable condition. Lack of a BBQ or a plentiful guest food shop, which the old owners provided, makes it difficult to recommend staying for more than 2 nights, as you will quickly run out of dishes you like to order from the restuarant. Overall we had high praises for the staff, however the conditions of the rooms we felt were not up to standard. We included photos primarily to raise attention for management to improve on room maintenance as that is the major down side we experienced in our stay. We hope the feedback on board as we see lots of potential that is currently leaving lots to be desired.

Incredible location and overall a really underrated resort. It’s more laid back and low key than others on the island, and yes rooms are a little run down in places but still very nice, staff are fab, and there’s as much or as little to do as you like! Grab a kayak, go snorkeling, lounge by the pool or the beach, read in your hammock- just don’t miss sunsets at the beach bat, they’re really something else!

Wow! Perfect little getaway on a beautiful tropical island. Plenty of things to do at the resort, snorkelling out front is spectacular with so many fish, turtles and coral & the resort provide equipment for free! Tours can be booked with reception to see Whitehaven beach and you can book jetski tours leaving directly from the island. Staff were always friendly and helpful, couldn’t thank them enough. We will definitely be coming back in the near future.

Firstly, Kade the bartender is the goat. Absolutely accommodating in every way. Cheers. The staff are fantastic, lovely and amazing. They go above and beyond to assist in every way. We stayed in the Hibiscus West suite. They view is stunning with a private balcony. There was a lot of water damage however, to most of the floor and ceilings. There is no TV or wifi if curious either. The bedroom was just that, a room With a bed in it, nothing flashy. The walk to the suite is a short hike up a very steep hill with no stairs. This needs some work imo. (Hard after a few drinks at the bar!) Overall this was an amazing stay with amazing hosts. Would very much recommend.

The scenery is idilic. If only there was some visible level of management oversight. The staff were all young travellers and clearly not trained or particularly interested in the guests e.g served mains without clearing starter dishes. On the plus side the food was great. The resort is tired and in need of renovation and not expensive. Examples nails in the decking coming loose so risk of foot injury, toilet door warped aircon inadequate. Staff also use the facilities so can be take over the pool bar area particularly when quiet. On the plus side very quiet. Overall it ticked the boxes for what we wanted but a little investment and staff awareness/supervision/management could turn it into something of a real gem. Overall impression there is a lack of interest/investment from the owners as there are so many easy fixes which would lift the experience.

Spent 4 nights at Palm Bay Resort, absolutely superb!! Were greeted on arrival by Teigan and Mia which set the tone for the warm and attentive service throughout. The beachfront accommodation is lovely and spacious with fabulous views to sea. All the staff pull together and the vibe is relaxed. No wifi, reasonable mobile coverage. Superb food both at breakfast and main meals. Good choice, tasty and well presented. Way, way beyond expectations. Highly recommend. Thanks again Teigan and team. Simon and Lina

Yelp
Location: AMAZING, incredible hidden escape in the Great Barrier Reef. A perfect spot to escape from the real world. Lodging: Bungalows on the beach are what you dream of for your picture-perfect escape. Spacious rooms with a hammock on the front patio makes you relish every moment on Long Island. My only complaint is the cleanliness of the rooms, the linens were all stained and the room fixtures are all a bit aged. The only thing that's keeping this resort from becoming a 4 or 5 star resort is the poor attention to detail when maintaining the property.

Yelp
Love Palm Bay Resort....... Super relaxing so if your looking for a BIG resort with Lots of people and noise, then this is not the place for you. Cozy rooms right on the Beach, the bring your own food was not a problem, just plan ahead there is a small store and cafe that serves Pizza. Extra kudos to the Staff as they were lovely.....

Yelp
What a wonderful little resort. It is so refreshing to see a resort done so elegantly yet simply. We utilized one of the moorings for a couple of nights and felt very welcomed. When we are back in the area again, we will certainly book a few nights here. Well run, very friendly staff, beautiful facilities.
