Palm Beach Atlantic University

I am a sophomore here, with a theatre BFA and while I don’t see much of the school itself I have nothing but good things to say about the theatre program. It’s got great classes and all the professors work very hard to personally make sure you do well. I’m able to ask for office hours and I will get detailed personalized advice that is extremely helpful. The great thing about going here too is you get a lot of tech experience, as if you’re not in shows you’re in tech and they hire experts to come in and personally teach you in a hands on learning style. I’ve gotten experience with sound engineers, building props, learning how to pick costumes, leadership roles, painting sets etc all in the time I’m not getting to perform on the stage. I’ve gained a lot of insight and respect from it, and feel like a well-rounded performer. The kindness I’ve experienced from the professors in my learning process is irreplaceable and if you’re looking for a personal and specific school that will care about you as the individual where you can make a place for yourself this is the program for you. I’m extremely happy here and I’m sure many more would also be.

Like any institution, PBA isn't perfect, but there are safe spaces for open dialogue and meaningful conversations about change. The campus is also in a fantastic location—with easy access to world-class performances at the Kravis Center and Society of the Four Arts, as well as the nearby beach for those who value connecting with nature and caring for their mental well-being.

Can't speak about the education although I do know they're scrapping the theater department as it's not as revenue producing as business. What I also know is they are proving to be very inconsiderate neighbors. The college is situated in a small, historic neighborhood. We have tiny streets. Since PBAU has begun the most recent construction projects, students have been clogging our streets to park all day, every day. PBAU's attitude? Call the police. Nice neighbors. I will never support this institution again. They call themselves Christian? I call them indifferent and self-serving. How about not charging students a fortune to park on their own campus? Typical of these "Christian" institutions, it's all about the money. My son goes to an ivy league college. They charge $200 a year for parking. PBAU? $600 a semester. PBAU is a money mill.

This show was amazing. I loved the live vocals. The last one I went to was all instrumental which was fantastic, but to have singing in this one was much more lively and such a great performance. These guys from Miami were amazing… would highly recommend!!!

Why We Love PBA - A Parent’s Perspective Palm Beach Atlantic has been an incredible blessing to our daughter and our entire family. The impact this school has on both academics and character development is truly remarkable. The theater program stands out as a transformative experience. From Stage Movement, which builds confidence and presence, to Stage Craft, where students learn hands-on construction and real-world application, the skills they gain go far beyond the stage. These are life skills that open doors. Students thrive in an environment where professors bring deep experience and Christ-like mentorship. Academically, the rigor is impressive. Our daughter is currently in Humanities 3, and Professor Chapman brings history to life in ways every parent hopes their child will experience. The program is immersive - intense academics by day, theater productions by night, with four performances a year. Students learn everything: lighting, stage design, movement, costumes, props, and more. It’s a full creative and intellectual journey. If you're looking for a place where your child can grow in faith, talent, and intellect — PBA is it. I do not have to be concerned about her finding a career. If I owned a company, a theater major from PBA would be a top hire.

They don’t care about their students at all!! We pay $600/year for parking that is “not guaranteed” due to the lack of spaces and huge amount of creepy/disgusting construction workers milling around campus and parking in commuter spots. Every attempt to find a solution with the university has been met with laughs and excuses from the faculty. Do not go to the godforsaken school, they’re lazy and greedy. Not Christ-like as they claim at all.

Another great performance. It took all my willpower not to get up and dance. Staff was very friendly, informative and kind.

We have 2 children at this school. One is about to graduate. Her experience has been wonderful. It is a small community so the professors are very invested in the details of their lives. I would highly recommend this school.

Great school. I went there. Small class sizes, awesome location. Some cons, but overall 5 stars for a university. Go sailfish.

It should say not in a million years would I reconsider or recommend this place. Still rings true every day I wake up.

I grew up around the area and, as a child forced to attend a Christian grade/high school, would have never given the thought to enrolling into PBA. However, I got the great opportunity to attend this university for the final 1 1/2 years of my college career and obtain my degree. Boy, am I glad I did. I learned more at this school in my short time than I did during 3 1/2 years at another university. The professors are outstanding. Not only do they want you to learn, they actually care about what they do! And, they care about their students too. You can tell that the atmosphere and ethics of this university keep these renowned professors in their positions. I am forever grateful for, particularly, the professors (and one super-awesome advisor) who listened to my many worries, met with me after class, and kept me from getting off course. I have to mention, while I'm not particularly religious, I never felt morals, lessons, or beliefs "forced" onto me at PBA. Rather, I found a safe place to explore all religions, their effects on history, and how I felt about them personally. That being said, this is a PRIVATE school, meaning they can make their own rules. They have a dress code. They expect their students to behave according to their standards. If you don't like that, you should probably choose another school. PBA is a wonderful place to be. Not only for its beautiful location or facilities but for its academic dedication to excellence. I couldn't be happier with my visit to PBA. This is a small Christian college with excellent programs and a great faculty. The campus is in a prime location in West Palm Beach right near City Walk and just ten minutes to the beach. The President truly cares for the safety and well being of his students and it shows. The cafeteria is one of the best I have ever seen on a college campus. They have tons of variety and the food is exceptionally fresh! If I could go back and do it all over again I would want to attend PBA.

During my time at the university she was the director of First Year Experience and was a professor in the Psychology department. My first introuction to Dannemart was seeing her welome the university students at the student orientation SOAR which happened during the summer months. She was the head in charge of organizing the event and leading it the day of. To me it was a great sign to see a woman of color in a position that most universities do not have which is still alarming in 2020. PBA did not have a large number of African American, Hispanic or Asian staff and faculty. This is one sign that stuck with me throughout my time at PBA that there was very little diversity when it came to the Student Leadership. Student Development leader(s) inclduing the Dean of students and Assistant Dean of Students were well aware of how Dannemart was a key resource for students being introduced to PBA. This past week December 4th Dannemart was let go of her duties due to "Restructuring" of Academic Support services and that her role would not be needed anymore. In my opinion PBA and those in certain postions made the WRONG decision in doing this. They are letting go of the woman that helped restructure a club and organziation that focused on the needs for students of color at the university. She cared not only for the unviersity but the students as well that may have not the chance to have their voice heard. Without having Dannemart as the key person in charge of First Year Expericne and MOASIC as well as being a mentor and advisor for students the future for PBA is questionable. Without more leaders and indivduals of color and different backgrounds, how can the univeristy move on; as they claim to be very LIBERAL? There needs to be more than just one professor of color in different programs, as well as trying to diversify the unvieristy through photos, campagins, statements etc. PBA is known for just putting a person of color just to showcase that yes we are diverse when in reality they are not. As an alumni that helped alongside Dannemart with restructurring MOSAIC and Student Leadership groups I am VERY DISSAPOINTED in this decision. It is time for PBA to take ownership and change, but if the unvieristy is backpeddling and not owning to its current doing than in the end I DO NOT see a curent change for the unviersity envioriment and its students. ALL Students must feel welcomed and included and with cutting certain people in their postions will not help shape for the better for PBA's future. To those that made this decision with eliminating Dannemart of her responisiblities and duties was not only ignoring the future for its employer being the university but for the sake of students of color and those that are wanting to change the unvieristy for the better!!

Both of our kids are in PBA and both love it!! One is graduating next week. We as parents couldn't ask for a better college and the education is superb. Thank you PBA!!!

They say god made man in his likeness. If that is true then he also made Palm Beach Atlantic in the likeness of a University in heaven. Great location, beautiful church, horrible parking, and expensive tuition.

When I was applying for colleges, I wanted to attend a school that had a fantastic music department and that wasn't overwhelmingly large. Not only did PBA deliver on both of those, but I discovered that it was a non-denominational Christian school and the location is absolutely amazing! I will never regret any of the nine semesters I spent at PBA. I couldn't have imagined going through the roller coaster ride of college anywhere else.

School is out for the summer, but I had no problem walking through this campus and buying some amazing bright magenta permanent markers in the bookstore. The whole campus looks nice and like a private university should be. Tuition I hear is around $20,000, less than many other Christian private schools cost. PBA has a school of pharmacy and a school of nursing. Anyway, amazing West Palm Beach location - hopefully, the crime rates keep going down and more urban revitalization is being done!
