We had such a wonderful stay at Palm Beach Historic Inn! The location is perfect for walking everywhere on the island and the staff is so nice and friendly! Having the snack/breakfast area available all day was so nice as well. The room was clean and spacious with nice amenities as well. If I had to say anything slightly not positive, I’d mention that the pull out bed was thin and not comfortable, but that’s somewhat expected for a pullout bed. The regular beds were great and the couch itself was very comfortable (and large enough to sleep on). Overall highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again if we ever come back to Palm beach!

This is a great spot for a night or two in Palm Beach. The location is unbeatable; just one block from Worth Ave and one block from the beach. They do a really good job with the limited space they have and provide a great amenities with beach gear, bikes, and easy access to snacks and drinks at any time. The beds were comfortable and the rooms well apportioned. It's not super fancy, but was perfect for my stay. I will be back. I only give them 4 stars for service as there is not staff readily available 24x7. But when the staff is there during business hours, they are very friendly and helpful.

What a wonderful experience I had at this hotel, the staff are so attentive and caring, the rooms are lovely, incredibly clean and spacious, had the best nights sleep. Oh and the snack bar was incredible… would highly recommend and I’m already thinking of an excuse to visit Palm Beach again and stay at the Historic Inn. Well done guys.

This was the best trip we have made to Palm Beach. The hotel was perfect for us. Quiet, elegant, home like and in the PERFECT location. Crystal created us on our first day. She was so friendly and courteous as all of the staff at Palm Beach Historic Inn were. She carried my heavy luggage up the steps for me, which was very helpful because I have back issues. The accommodated my claustrophobia and gave us a room close to the exit. The rooms are charming and make you feel like you have stepped into old Palm Beach. We stayed 3 nights and had the most wonderful time. Every need was anticipated before we had a need. Breakfast, coffee and snacks available all day and a little courtyard to sit and enjoy your snacks and meals. We have been to Palm Beach often, but have never had a better time. We will be back next year. Thanks to all the staff for making our stay so comfortable. We can not wait to see you again. Jennifer & Bill

Google
Mistakenly booked this hotel. Not a hotel in which, I would normally stay. Upon seeing my room I was really disappointed. However, after kinda taking it all in........ my attitude changed. The hotel I initially looked at was 1,220 nightly off season. Here, I paid 150. For 150.00 per night I received a super comfy bed with nice linens, clean windows, great a.c., perfect location, free internet, quality towels, and an open snack bar and breakfast counter. Overall, this hotel was like an ugly dog... they just try harder!!! I would happily stay again. Thank you Historic Palm Beach Inn.

We LOVED our stay here. It was within walking distance of everything we wanted to see and only a block from the beach. One of our favorites parts of our trip was renting bikes through the hotel. The staff was so kind, and we can’t wait to be back!

Short version: I am already thinking of my next stay. Five stars isn’t enough! Can I move in? Long version: I came for a two-night stay during the week. The receptionist was kind and welcoming, and when I got to my room, it exceeded expectations. I brought two gallons of water because hotels provide a bottle or two at most. The receptionist informed me that there was plenty of water, and she was right. Not only in the reception/snack area, but in the room as well. The office chair and the couches were very comfortable, perfect for lounging after a long day in the sun. The living room area is on a separate thermostat from the bedroom, which is perfect for keeping the bedroom frigid as I like it. I was happy that the bathroom had plenty of towels as well. My favorite thing about my stay is the bed. I texted my friends and told them the police will have to forcibly remove me from the mattress! Truthfully I wasted time in that bed that could’ve been spent at the beach. My only disappointment was the WiFi. I had to get some work done and the internet was lagging. A couple of errors I made that solely fall on me, as this info is disclosed on their website: I packed a large suitcase because I forgot there’s no elevator. This isn’t a complaint! It’s a reminder for anyone reading this review. Secondly, the hotel provides chairs, towels, and umbrellas for the beach. No need to pack any of those!

Google
We paid $1,000 per night after seeing good reviews on Tripadvisor. Not comfortable leaving such a negative review but wanting others to know what this place is like before committing. Its furnished and finished in the cheapest way possible. The bathroom was dumpy-minimal counter space, shower plumbing fixtures pulling off the wall, doors not closing all the way. Room was the same-stains on the couch, junky refrigerator next to a junky desk. A colossal disappointment.

Yelp
The area that is now known as Palm Beach used to be called Lake Worth. The name change is said to be a result of the shipwreck Providencia. The ship was sailing in January 1878 with a load of coconuts bound from Havana to Barcelona when it became stranded on a reef. Early settlers quickly gathered up and planted the non native coconuts that washed up in order to start a commercial coconut industry. Hence the name Palm Beach was born. Word spread of the area and in 1880 the first hotel, the Coconut Grove House opened. In 1894 Henry M. Flagler's Royal Poinciana Hotel opened and he brought the Florida East Coast Railroad in 1896 which increased people to the area. The town of Palm Beach was incorporated on April 17, 1911. The Palm Beach Historic Inn was built in 1923 by Harvey and Clark. It was designed in a Mediterranean Revival Architecture style that was popular during Florida's land boom years. The inn is a boutique hotel located in downtown Palm Beach FL across the street from town hall and very close to the Atlantic Ocean. All rooms are located on the second floor of the hotel and there isn't an elevator. The rooms were refreshed in 2000 with new paint and furniture. They also do not have a parking lot but provide street parking placards or there is a garage for $27 a day. Rooms run around $150 a night and you are within walking distance of the beach, shopping, and dining. Love the architecture and history of this inn. Nice to see a 100 years later they are still in business.

Yelp
Built in 1920, it's charming. But parking is not the most convenient. Guests buy a City of Palm Beach parking pass for number of days they'll be staying. 6P to 8:30A over night parking is available directly in from of the Inn. Daytime hours guest park 950 ft. away on Ocean Blvd., across from the beach. Guest rooms are all on the second floor. Very good assistance carrying luggage upstairs immediately available from 9A -7P. No tips or additional charge for this service. 950 feet from the Inn to the beach; 1.5 blocks to Worth Avenue. Beautiful interior common spaces. Guest rooms are attractive and well appointed. Prices range two to three hundred dollars less per night than their local competitors. Palm Beach Historic Inn keeps a small, efficient staff. All staff members are professional yet personable. Most every snack imaginable is on hand at no addition cost while staying there. I have two food allergies that limit my choices. Our guest hostess asked what I'd like best and made all my requests available for me, even delivered to our room and in just a few hour later! That's remarkable service I couldn't have anticipated. The Inn works very hard to be superior to its competitors. It's located right downtown in the heart of Palm Beach City proper.

Yelp
Being a Historic property I expected it to be not quite up to par. I was pleasantly surprised!! It is an older property, but when I say it's IMMACULATE.... That's an understatement!! Cleanliness is my number one priority and this exceeded my expectations!! Palm Beach has ZERO convenience stores which I find odd. Thankfully, the Palm Beach Historic Inn provided 5 bottles of name brand water in the room each day!! Coffee maker, fridge with freezer as well!! The lobby had coffee, a fridge with drinks, snacks, breakfast.... All of which we took advantage of!!! They have beach chairs, umbrellas and towels for use free of charge!! The staff is so friendly and they really work hard to make the property what it is!! It's conveniently located about a block from the beach!! Fantastic stay!! Thank you!!

Yelp
If you are using hotels.com do not use your free reward night here. This hotel will charge you 40$ for canceling a month in advance. I literally will never refer anyone to your hotel, and I haven't even stayed here yet. I know damn well this hotel could have filled the room with a months time. ITS A BIG F U TO THE CUSTOMER. side note : hotels.com would not give me my free night back because the property denied my cancellation fee return. After staying in hundreds of hotels around the globe, i will never consider your hotel. Thanks for nothing Palm Beach Historic Inn.

Yelp
Stayed at this adorable spot while in Palm Beach for a wedding, and it was so quaint. Light blue shutters, cottage-like rooms, great downtown location, affordable. Would stay here again. 5 stars!!!!

Yelp
Hidden gem in Palm Beach Florida! Lots of included perks: unlimited snacks (chips, cookies, candies, yogurt) and drinks (waters, sodas, juice), beach chairs and towels. The town is quiet almost ghost-townish and the beach is walking distance. The rooms are nice but as other reviewers mentioned they are not soundproof. We were awoken early one morning to guests in the room above us going at it, headboards knocking and lots of grunting. That was awkward! You can also hear conversations in the hallway quite clearly. The rooms are very clean and have little knacks that set this inn apart from run of the mill hotels. The king sized bed and oversized pillow were luxurious! Their travel sized soap, body wash, and shampoos we're actually excellent quality. I love that they included makeup remover wipes AND black makeup towels specifically for washing away makeup. The "historic" aspect of this inn is sorely lacking though. The rooms have no real semblance of being vintage or historic, and the employees didn't seem friendly enough for me to engage them in conversation or else I would have asked about the history of the inn. Side note- my boyfriend checked us in while I was in the car, and when I finally entered the lobby the employee never acknowledged me- no eye contact, no greeting. For these reasons I'm taking away one star, but overall I think it's a great place to stay for a few days as you get a lot of bang for your buck!

Yelp
Stayed here over Memorial Day weekend and had an amazing experience! The staff was extremely kind. The inn is in the perfect location, walking distance to the beach and Worth Ave. They have free snacks and beach chairs/umbrellas. Definitely will be back!

Lisa D.

Yelp
We loved the historic and quaint boutique feel - we aren't into resorts and chains. Excellent location, close to Worth Avenue, beach, and many good restaurants. Staff beyond helpful and accommodating. Towels and umbrellas for beach, bikes available to rent (one had a flat tire that was promptly fixed). Our room felt big - bed super comfy and bathroom products smelled so good! Would 1000% stay again.

Dayne B.

Yelp
Beware of cancellation policy of 14 days. Bad weather kept us from returning to the Bahamas in time. They claim every hotel in Palm Beach has the same policy. We have stayed at sever other local hotels and never experienced this.

Yelp
We spent an anniversary weekend at the Palm Beach Historic Inn and had a very nice time. The place is conveniently located a block and one half from the beach and the rooms are well appointed and cozy. We especially appreciated the friendly staff and the drinks, snacks and beach gear they provide 24 hours a day. We stayed in room 110 and it was great, corner unit with a comfortable bed and lots of natural light. Parking is a bit of a challenge but it was all good. Would recommend for a lazy couple days in Palm Beach!

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful historic area to explore on the East Coast of Florida! This is a very low-key, but nicely private historical Inn that is located in West Palm Beach. Quite a unique area to explore in Florida in general. To me, Florida is already known for its quirky, a sporadic little towns of wondrous-ness that you come across, but this area surprises you in the best ways. It has a little bit of everything with always carrying a Charleston SC "old money vibe to it. It is honestly a rare, understated classy vibe, rare to find in Florida;) very nice overall experience, employees were also very helpful and had a nice energy about them.

Gaby M.

Yelp
This is the cutest little bed and breakfast I've ever seen! It's located right next to the beach (maybe 2 blocks away) and it has a very "historic" feel in the lobby and hallway. Free breakfast included! I loved the room very comfortable and the beds were clean. I would definitely recommend staying her for a comfortable stay. My only complaint is the parking situation. Feel like they should assess that situation for the guests.

Scott S.

Yelp
Sorry but no. I had a significant lapse of judgment in booking our stay at the Palm Beach Historic Inn. I thought this would be a quaint alternative to the high luxury of the Breakers for our anniversary. The hotel might have been decent in the 1920s but now it is in need of renovation, demolition or condo conversion. The walls are paper thin. You hear full conversations from hallway to rooms and visa versa. Everytime a door shuts, it sounds like yours. Bring earplugs. There is no central air and while the window unit kept us comfortable, it was at the cost of not hearing each other speak (though not loud enough to drown out the noise from the hallway and the other rooms). Our room was very clean and very modest. 1970s bamboo-style roll-shades were mounted over the window. Bring eyeshades. The room was very small and the bathroom old and plain. There was nothing to soften the chalky, white walls of the box-shaped bedroom; nothing historic, nothing quaint or cozy. A cheap ceiling fan with flourescent bulbs hung over our plain but comfortsble king-sized bed. Outside, a sign portrays the Inn as a bed & breakfast. This is not accurate. Neither the bedrooms nor the cold, continental breakfast qualify. They have no valet and no parking! I was told to fend for myself to find a spot. But wait, there's more ... The Inn is about 50 feet from the fire station and about 100 feet from the police department. Pray there are no sirens in the middle of the night. I really thought this would be a cute little B&B experience surrounded by all the Island has to offer but I was wrong. It reminded me far more of meager youth hostels from my Europe days. Mea culpa. Get this. I paid 320 for this place. We left and happily slept in our own beds. I do have to send an apologetic shout-out to Anthony who seemed to manage the place. He was gracious and very nice to us.

Alexis F.

Yelp
We stayed here for two nights and had a great time exploring the surrounding areas. The inn is maybe two blocks from the actual beach and the neighborhood is calm and quiet--sort of like a well-dressed sleepy beach town. The inn itself was very easy to find with street parking available on the two side streets (Chilean & Australian). Kaitlin was very friendly and helped us find restaurants, CVS, and a local bar! The room was clean, comfortable and perfect for a quick weekend stay. We will definitely be coming back to visit Chapman & Kaitlin again!

Katie B.

Yelp
So so so cute! Very clean hotel, very attentive and kind staff. The best part....super close to the beach! Adorable rooms, adorable lobby, plus all kinds of free snacks/drinks at any hour of the day in the lobby, things like OJ, granola bars, coffee, a selection of tea, nutella :) It's right near the police station so you feel safe (not that Palm Beach is a hotbed of crime lol). The walls are thin, true, but it's historic and there's only like 10 rooms here. The toiletries were also super cute. I liked this place and would stay here again :)

Yelp
ROACHES ROACHES ROACHES!! We booked our hotel online threw trivago (no customer service, use another website) arrived to this tiny room that smelled of urine. After staying the night my wife woke up in the morning to roaches. We went to the front desk and politely asked to check out and cut our stay short. The "manager" refused to allow us to check out with any refund for the remaining 5 days of our stay. WE DID NOT ASK FOR ANYTHING FREE, WE DIDNT ASK TO UPGRADE US. WE SIMPLY WANTED TO LEAVE AND TO BE REFUNDED FOR PRE PAID DAYS WE DIDNT WANT BECAUSE THERE WERE ROACHES IN OUR ROOM. Why not allow the person to leave if they are unhappy? They said they are a small hotel and cant refund. What the F does that have to do with ROACHES in our room? All we wanted to do is go somewhere else. We were checking out before check out time and didnt want refunded for the night we stayed, just simply to leave and find a new hotel. My wife is so upset and for good reason. WHAT A DUMP Also, no hotel staff after 10pm and all day there is only one person working in the hotel so dont expect any help with anything.

Brittany G.

Yelp
This hotel was cute and conveniently located near the beach. Parking isn't included, but we never had trouble finding a space. Our room and bathroom were clean and the closet was large. There was usually a cute and friendly dog in the lobby and the staff was always helpful. However, the breakfast selection was small and it took almost 5 min for the shower to warm up every time.

Taylor Lee P.

Yelp
We absolutely LOVED our two night stay here. The hotel staff was very accommodating and kind. The fact that there were two gorgeous blue beach bikes included with our stay made our morning exploring so much fun. The quaint atmosphere and the lovely, newly redone room was the perfect inn stay in the heart of West Palm!! This has been our favorite part of the trip. We can't believe we got such an affordable and exquisite stay at PBHI! Thank you all.

Molly C.

Yelp
I had such a wonderful trip to Palm Beach and stayed here. I read the other reviews and I think the ones who liked it here were all in consensus. We like it because it is quaint, personable and quiet. The rooms are clean and the beds are dreamy. I prefer a personable hotel to the generic luxury. Everything in this hotel is charming and welcoming, including the customer service! I was met in the mornings by Bruce who was friendly and helpful. Offered me a bicycle and insight into anything Palm Beach! Coffee in the rooms, small refrigerator and big bright windows you can open all the way. I did feel like I was staying at my friends house (rich friend that is). Within walking distance to shops and food, I honestly felt like a local living in mid town. Now, the single flight of stairs were no problem whatsoever for me but I get it.. I doubt they're for everyone. I will continue to sing the praise of this little hotel! Thank you!!

Judith N.

Yelp
We were in PB to surprise-celebrate our sister's 60th and as she'd already lived on PBI we thought she knew every nook and cranny of that delightful Island but she'd never heard of this place! Kudos to my niece for suggesting this very evocative 1920's era hostelry. We felt just like family, the pleasant staff and owners were chatty, welcoming, hospitable, kind of like 'we'll leave the light on for you' relaxed. The ambiance was old-time PB with modern amenities. The breakfast offerings were varied and sufficient, presented with morning papers and street-level viewing in a comfortable and elegant lobby. Enough assortments of breakfast items to fuel a lively day of sightseeing whether one wished to wade in the nearby Atlantic warm ocean or stroll down stunning Worth Ave! The flight of stairs going up to the hotel rooms is steep, admittedly-- but you're going back in history ascending a gracious stairway to upstairs rooms leading to nicely-decorated corridors. Each room had a stained-glass authentic transom and inside the rooms were white, clean, sparkling furnishings with modern media technology. We totally enjoyed our two-night stay and the assortment of friendly guests passing through. Highly recommended!! And there's a jewelry/gift shop below, high-end liquor store/snack stop and other neat shopping very close.

Yelp
If anyone is looking for an affordable and nice place to stay in Palm Beach, FL this place fits the bill. Located in the center of town, one block from the beach, and within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Spent one night here in a King Deluxe room ($220/nt). The room was spacious and bright and the bathroom was clean and well lit. Other perks: an in-room mini-fridge to store drinks, etc., free (and fast) wifi, daily breakfast, and a public use laptop in the lobby for printing out boarding passes. The staff were very friendly and not at all pretentious. This place is small, charming and quiet. A perfect getaway spot. I would stay here again without question.

Bill B.

Yelp
This is a small place with very friendly staff. The service was excellent and the rooms were very nice. It only has 13 rooms overall. It is very close to the beach, Worth Avenue and the "downtown" area. They have complimentary towels and chairs to take to the beach. I would definitely stay there again. It was just a neat little place.

Yelp
Staying at the Inn to celebrate my birthday in Palm Beach. King bed room is remodeled old French decor, comfortable, fast wifi, frig, unlimited coffee, nice in room coffee maker, breakfast bar, friendly staff and it's affordable! Well located one block from the beach, walking distance to fine dining and Worth Ave. We will make this a regular hotel stay.

Jennifer T.

Yelp
We stayed here over the weekend. The inn was cozy and comfortable. They were very accommodating. They provided complimentary beach towels and chairs. The beach is about one block away. The breakfast is very basic. The location of this inn is amazing and I would stay here again.

Amy A.

Yelp
When I booked our room I knew we made the right decision! Never having toured the area I didn't know what to expect so I was relying on internet research. If it wasn't enough that the price of this inn was less expensive than surrounding accommodations, what made everything better was the discount offered at time of booking. We received an acknowledgment e-mail and received a copy of their policies in advance so we knew about the important things such as parking. Upon arrival we were greeted by the friendly staff and everything was explained in detail. The attendant even helped us get our bags inside due to the awkward parking policies mandated by the city. She even offered to move her car from a private lot to allow us to park there until the parking rules lifted (the city has a strict one hour parking law from 7 am to 5 pm), so they made every effort to provide a comfortable stay. We were very pleased with our room which came equipped with a coffee maker and coffee which I utilized the next morning. The entire place was decorated in an antique sort of feel, which I appreciated. The fact it had no elevator was no big deal to us, but I can see how people who are handicapped would have trouble maneuvering up and down the steps. We were literally within walking distance of the beach which we preoccupied most of 24 hour stay and we also ventured down to ritzy Worth Ave. to see what the fuss was all about. My biggest tip would be to be prepared to pay for convenience. If you don't mind moving your car often to other 1 hour parking spaces or walking everywhere you will be wise. If convenience is important to you, be prepared to pay $27/day in a parking garage or $30/day for one of the two parking spots outside the hotel (which you have to reserve in advance). Neither of these factors affected our feelings about our stay as these are inconveniences placed by the city and is the fault of the inn management. All in all, we paid roughly $160 (with online discount) for one night stay and were fortunate to arrive after check in began so we could change clothes and head down to the relax at the beach (and yes we drove just so we could move our car even though we were within walking distance LOL). Here's another tip- should you drive over to Worth Ave. which is also within walking distance, be prepared to pay $5/hour and if you don't use up the entire hour, they still charge you for another hour! We didn't take advantage of the complimentary breakfast offered by the hotel. We noted the cleanliness of our room and when we checked in a staff member was on her knees scrubbing the floor. I was so impressed!! Another thing to note is that they do not have 24/hour personnel at the desk so if you need something a phone number is posted. Also, what was really nice was it wasn't fully occupied, so there were maybe two other couples staying at the same time as us and they were quiet. We never heard them unless we were in the hallway. One of the staff members brings their Golden Retriever to work with them which was a welcoming site. My overall impression of the inn was positive and people oriented. They definitely strive to meet your comfort level in every way.
