We had the best time at the Palm Beach Zoo!! We showed up shortly after they opened on a Saturday and were surprised how empty it was - parking was easy, getting into the zoo was quick, and we got a cart for the kids no problem!! It got much busier as the morning went on so show up early if you don’t want to struggle with parking or long lines to get in. The exhibits were enjoyable, the kids loved seeing all the animals, and it was the perfect amount of walking and attractions. Bathrooms were clean and there were many options for food and drink. We saw plenty of staff members, each who greeted us, asked if we had any questions, and helped us along the way. We will definitely be back in the future!

We bought tickets on the way there from Fort Lauderdale. We arrived shortly after they opened and there was no wait at all. The zoo was very well maintained and the animals well cared for. My daughter loves axolotls and capybaras and this is the only place I know that has both so she was very excited. There are food and snacks stands all throughout the place and the restaurant itself is amazing with an extensive menu for all diets and appetites. They have water, juices, sodas, and alcohol as well. They have a very good recycling system set up throughout the park and the whole place is kept very clean and neat. We are looking into getting an annual pass next. It’s easy walking around the zoo as it is configured in a way where you are always close to the main hub which gets you to all different areas or back to the exit rather quickly, not like some zoos which need alternative transportation modes because they are too big and spread out over a large area. This one feels just right and has plenty of shading so you are never left out in the sun for too long. We try to avoid zoos in the summer but this one wouldn’t be a problem at all. Great place.

It’s been about 30 years since my last visit to the Dreher park zoo, now known as palm beach zoo, it is a lot cleaner than I remember, a lot less animals running free on the ground, and a complete remodel, we did receive an AZA zoo membership discount for being Columbus zoo members so for 46 dollars for three people that was a fantastic price and the perfect value for how much time you’ll spend there, we are very active zoo people and walked through in about two hours taking a very leisurely stroll, the animals are very tropical in nature and all suited for warmer climates, staff were friendly-ish the only issue was the woman who was running the lorikeet aviary, she’s too bitter no one should have to explain closing the door and walking through an aviary in such a feisty manner, she could also have been having a bad day, but how good you around lorikeets? Overall if you’re not a AZA member full price tickets might be a little much for how quickly you’ll get through, free parking with overflow, if you go in with no expectations you’ll have a good time and we did!

I am a member here as my toddler and I have been coming multiple times for about a year now. We always have such a blast! The Latitude lounge is always so icy cold, perfect for a hot Florida day & the food is delicious. The animals are always so fun to see! We have been coming for the Zoo lights since my kid was weeks old, and this year's (2025) honestly was the best yet! We had such a blast with watching her run around and dance but the lights themselves this year just were mesmerizing! I feel like they purchased new lights and everything was working, no dead/black zones of lights, as I’ve seen in the previous years. We truly had such a blast we were there from open to close! I also love the live art sculptors they always have and the display of their artwork!

It's so beautiful! There are so many animals that you're able to see up close. Staff and volunteers are very friendly and knowledgeable. Very toddler/kid friendly. Lots of shade and its not crowded at all during the week. Definitely getting the yearly pass!

One of the best zoos around! There are many animals, from jaguars and white alligators, to anteaters and bears, this zoo has a nice array of animals in well kept and natural environments. Highly recommend the Palm Beach Zoo for families and anyone who loves experiencing wildlife. It’s worth noting there are wheelchairs and mobile scooters for rent, the entire zoo and restrooms are very clean, staff is friendly, and there’s a restaurant (Latitude) with reasonable prices and great smash burgers 👌 Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!

Took a trip to the Zoo... What a fun day it was. It was a slow day so parking was perfect and free, the Zoo staff were so friendly, you could tell they liked their job. The park is beautiful, and they were getting ready for Zoo lights, which we'll be going back too. We saw almost every animal that the zoo has to offer, was pleasantly surprised, that the areas for the animals were very large, none were in distress. The zoo grounds clean, neet, and beautiful. The information plaques, were better than any other zoo I've been to. We did eat there and that was also good. However we did not do any experiences on this the first trip. Hope you go and have a fun day also.

We had a little vely afternoon walking through the zoo. Beautiful greenery and habitats, nice variety of birds and animals. Also lovely stone sculptures of animals to view and purchase. I'd recommend buying tickets in advance. There's a general admission, but additional options for more up close experiences can sell out quickly. Parking was easy, maps were easy to follow. Highlights for me were the tigers, sloths, koalas, capybaras, and flamingos. There was a nice cafeteria to enjoy and break up the walking.

2024 was my year of the Zoo. We enjoyed a family pass and truly enjoyed it. Everything is completely outside, and the foliage and trees provide a nice cover. In a way, it is a lovely, protected park to walk around. My kids spent plenty of time just playing on the playground inside here- they love the climbing structures. They also love to try to catch tadpoles in the running water walls at the entrance. Some favorite parts of the zoo: the otters, swimming and dancing behind the glass- this display is wonderful. My kids really like the electric colored fish inside the cave. I love the Mayan replica part, but I miss the caracol with the reptiles inside. Being able to go more often, we saw various animals at different times. An hour before closing, many animals are being fed and are visible and waiting for the keepers. I like trying to spot the monkeys and lemurs on various islands in the zoo. I brought my kids here in strollers and now they walk by themselves, but the magic of seeing live animals has not changed. Looking forward to seeing some of the areas after they are renovated.

This a medium size zoo, mostly having birds and smaller size animals. A water fountain at the entrance, really popular with kids. There's a marry go round as well. They have children's camp style play area and bird feeding section too. There are exhibitions that occurs throughout the day. The zoo is mostly clean. Signs and directions are clear. A good restaurant inside for food and beverages. For me the highlights were flamingos, bald eagle and otters. Other than that it was very basic. A lot of the sections were under maintenance, or the animals were in far corners hibernating due to hot temperatures.

This zoo is located in West Palm Beach and is on 23-acres. Since my toddler was under 2, we took him because admission was free for children under 2. Parking was spacious. The zoo was large and fun to walk around. For an additional fee, a spot can be reserved to take part with the animal experience; you can be up close and personal with a bear, tortoise, otter, panther, porcupine, sloth, and koala. Touching of the animal is not allowed but pictures are. The bigger animals like a bear and panther would be viewed from a barrier for obvious reasons. There were many endangered animals in this zoo. Walking around was spacious and clean. The animals were fun to look at. Some were hiding because of the hot, humid, and sunny day. My favorite were the tigers and the sloth (from afar). The sloth was only available for private experiences, which you have to book in advance and pay an extra fee. There were plenty of restrooms and picnic tables. A gift shop and restaurant were onsite. There was a carousel and a toddler play area; the play area had climbing a playscape for the little ones. Overall, a fun experience for the kids and adults.

I was so pleasantly surprised by this little zoo! It was a great way to spend an afternoon. When you first enter, there is a splash pad for children. We saw lots of families together cooling off. Towards all the way in the front there are bathrooms, but right by the splash pads there is a private changing station. There was also a small kiosks that you can purchase drinks and some snacks. From there, you can decided which direction you would like to go. You can meet and talk with zoo keepers throughout the day. Most of the zoo was nicely shaded and had plenty of areas to sit and relax. It's small enough for younger children to enjoy and not get too overwhelmed, yet enough to keep their attention. They did offer some extra where you could have animal encounters. I see some groups doing feeds and it seems very nice and not too invasive to their space. The cafe they had toward the back had some food offerings. Prices are a little higher and were limited. Hey had some local beer offerings, which was refreshing for the hot afternoon. Overall, it was a wonderful visit. I think this is a great options for children and adults alike.

This is surprisingly sad. There is something very wrong here. The cost of admission is very high. $100 for 2 adults and 1 senior. Animals all appeared to be listless and sleeping, hiding or no where to be found. Everything is a bit run down and just looks minimally maintained. Snack bar again, way over priced. $50 for 2 orders of fries, one burger, and Mac and cheese. No drinks. For dropping $150 for 2 plus hours stretching the time, definitely better choices. Where is the money going?

Such a great zoo with so much to see. We attended the zoo lights event which was so much fun.

Small cages & hood for kids but animals looked distressed. I would t go out of my way to go back.

I came here with my boyfriend on a Sunday morning. We got here a little after 10am, and were among the first few people there. Overall, the zoo has a good mix of animals. We spent about an hour and a half seeing all the exhibits. The staff were really friendly and there was a good mix of educational components at all of the enclosures.

Our zoo experience was just ok, however we were astounded at how high the entry prices, were not to mention that in the snack bar they charge $10.99 for a hot dog! Just a plain dog. Solo. A "souvenir " drink an ordinary plastic cup was $9.00. How can families afford to take their children there? Shameful! Bring your own snacks.

Lots of interesting animals and the staff is exceptional, providing great info about the animals. We were all adults and we enjoyed our visit.

I was eaten to shreds instantly after sitting on this bench outside koala bears. Still not sure if this is chiggers, fleas, fiberglass but something on that bench hurt me badly. It itches senseless. Don't wear shorts and don't sit down!

The Palm Beach Zoo is great place to go with the children. The Zoo offers several themes based on the types of animals and their habitat. When you enter there is a a round area with water fountains for the kids to cool down on a hot day so bring a bathing suit and a change of clothes.

After a trip to the Palm Beach Zoo I think it's safe to say that my daughter's new favorite word is 'MINGO, MINGO' (aka, Flamingo). They have a very impressive selection of birds, monkeys and other small animals. The zoo is a really nice size. Enough to see, but not too big that it's tiring and overwhelming. Admission for an adult will run you $25 bucks and our 1.5 year old was free which was a win. I do wish that this zoo had larger animals. No lions, giraffes, zebras, elephants, etc. There is one tiger which felt like the most exciting thing we saw all day. It's a pretty small local zoo, so for more of a thrill you are probably better off checking out a larger zoo or the lion country safari. But if you have a young kid and want to spend around two hours seeing some animals and doing something different then this is absolutely the way to go. There are also plenty of bathrooms and a large snack bar with tons of indoor and outdoor seating. It's clean and well marked with lots of maps and helpful staff. For an activity in Palm Beach (esp on a cloudy day) you cannot go wrong.

Great little zoo right in Palm Beach near the airport. Lots of animals. Great exhibits and great zookeepers that are very informative.

So, the Palm Beach Zoo is like a big adventure, and this tiger named Triton is the coolest! Seriously, watching him stroll around is like nature being awesome. And then there are these huge bears - they're like playful giants having a great time. The zoo makes sure they all have a comfy place. It's not just fun; you also learn cool stuff about animals. Triton and the playful bears totally steal the show. If you love tigers and bears goofing around, you should totally check out the Palm Beach Zoo. It's a wild time!

So much fun! My dad is a veteran and goes for free. We also received a generous discount. So many animals! The grounds were beautiful and the decor made me feel like I was on an African Safari. We had a great day!

Very nice zoo. Of course it's nothing like the San Diego zoo. Very nice and centrally located. I do think the entrance is way too expensive for how small the zoo is and how many animals and activities they have but over all I had a nice time and it gives you something to do without having to drive far.

Used to be, I could whole heartedly recommend the Palm Beach Zoo and know anyone going there would be having a great time, but it looks like those days are gone. The Zoo appears to be simply wasting away from apathy and ennui, and with the Science Museum around the corner constantly upgrading and beautifying itself, this slow death is even more pronounced. Habitats are overgrown and unclean, cloudy dirty windows hide empty exhibits, animals that were taken off display temporarily seem to have gone on vacation for extended periods, structures and sculptures are broken down, dirty, and rusting away. Once famous for friendly wandering staff eager to help anyone who asked, what was a popular attraction now seems to be a ghost town, but still manages to saddle guests with admission fees higher than bigger and better zoos within easy driving distance. Food quality is down in direct relation to the amount the cost has gone up. Sadly this zoo is no longer something to look forward to...

I like this zoo. It's easy to get with good parking and proximity to the front gate. No, it's not the Bronx zoo or the San Diego zoo. It's a small boutique zoo. Take your time and look around at the beauty. The overgrown jungle like feel add an ambience to the place. When else will you ever see a jaguar, a puma and a koala bear. It's totally , a chilled out kind of place no big hassles and you'll have a great time.

Where to begin... Drove a bit over an hour to see a lonely alligator, a couple of monkeys, some sad looking flamingos, a handful of birds and get attacked by bees. The reason I'm giving palm beach zoo 3 stars and not less is because they have a water play area that my toddler loved. Other than that, I don't really recommend this zoo. I honestly feel bad for the animals they have there. Definitely not worth the $27 for the entrance fee. Some of the staff weren't too friendly either. They had a not so friendly face and it showed that they didn't want to be there. The zoo is very small, you can walk the entire zoo in less than an hour. The animals are placed in small homes as well. They really shouldn't even have these animals with these small enclosures. Those poor animals. I definitely won't be going back.

Very clean, neat and organized zoo. It's much smaller than the Miami Zoo and has less exhibits, but what they do have is well organized. The layout of the zoo is easy to maneuver with or without kids. Parking is easy and there is a place to eat. If you want an easy hour or so event this is the place to go. Quite enjoyable.

Loved this zoo since I was a kid!! They care for all the animals well, and they are healthy and happy.

Pros: the zoo is very well maintained, nice paths, clean restrooms. Cons: small zoo, you can walk the entire thing in 2 hours. Great for a short visit.

So much fun! This was a great event for the adults and children in our party. I think it's the perfect size zoo to explore all the animals and areas without being overwhelmed. I also loved learning that they are a rehab center that releases many animals back into the wild, but keeps those that are injured or too reliant on humans from a young age to survive on their own. The entire zoo seems very clean and not smelly (even though it was 90 degrees the day we went). The splash pad was a big hit with the kids and myself alike! What an awesome way to cool down on HOT South Florida days. The food was surprisingly good! The gift shop was cute and honestly not ridiculously priced. However, the best part was absolutely the animal experience. We got to feed some otters and get up and close with them INSIDE a habitat area behind the scenes. It was very cool and worth the extra fee. Just be sure to sign up for the animal experiences early bc they sell out. Also pay attention to age restrictions - for instance, the otter experience is strictly ages 10 and up. In addition- if you buy your ticket at the zoo you can buy a combined ticket for the zoo and aquarium at a discounted price. Be sure to ask about it- if you buy online you don't get the discount.

I really like this zoo. It's a small, less expensive option than Miami Metro Zoo. I wish there were a bit more variety of animals to see, but my kids always enjoy coming here. It's an easy, walkable activity and devoting a half day to visit is plenty of time. The zoo runs in a big circle so it makes it easy to see everything without doubling around. There's a cafe to eat at as well as a gift shop. The fountains in the center of the zoo provide a fun activity for kids to run around and cool off. There are also changing "rooms" nearby. Parking is free.

My boyfriend and I spontaneously decided to stop by the Palm Beach Zoo, since the weather was perfect! Pros: well kept, cute layout, not overly crowded. I love that they have rescued a lot of the animals. If you really take your time looking at each animal, you can spend about 2-3 hours there. Cons: pricey for what's there ($25 per adult). no shows or live talks advertised, some animals were not visible in their habitats. and a bit smelly

On the small side for a zoo, but I enjoyed my time here. All of the animal enclosures were clean and the staff was friendly. You could spend several hours wandering the different loops in this zoo. Well worth the admission fee.

Nice experience with the kids. Take advantage of their summer event deals. Kids are free (up to 2 kids) with one adult purchase. Very worth it. Reasonable walk throughout the zoo. Beautiful scenery.

One of the most beautiful, clean, well taken care of Zoos I have ever been to. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We did the Aldabra tortoise experience and it was incredibly. The staff member was very knowledgeable and we got to feed and pet the tortoises. I went with my whole family and we all had a wonderful day. The zoo is mostly shaded by beautiful trees so it helps with the Florida heat. I highly recommend this Zoo.There are so many activities and the enclosures are beautiful kept. You see the animals up close. Just fantastic!

I emailed them and messaged them through Facebook - no one ever responded. Why can't you give zero stars??? Absolutely horrible experience at the zoo today. We went to the carousel (first thing we did)and they told us that my daughter had to pay and my mother can stand next to her. They get onto the carousel and they tell us that my mother has to get off of it. They say it is a state law. Where exactly is the state law because other people were standing on it and the height of a child does not mean that they can do things on their own. If it is a state law, can you tell me where to find it? In the past week I have been standing on a multiple carousels with my daughter since we arrived in FloridaI guess everyone else is breaking the law? So now this gets my daughter upset and we end up having to get our money back and leave. We headed back to where we are staying so she can lay down. So thank you Palm Beach Zoo for ruining our day. Can someone tell me where I can find the law that states a child of a certain height is not allowed to have an adult stand with them?

Much better than expected. We spent about two hours and had a great time. Nice size and well kept. Lots of nice plants and trees too.

Great zoo! A hidden gem in WPB! Friendly staff, clean grounds, and thin crowds. Big shout out to the dining room "Latitude 26". Food was delicious. I spoke with an employee at the food pickup who advised the food is fresh and made on premise. It tasted exactly that way. Yum

Very expensive and not good food. Not that great of a zoo for the money spent. Not at all. Very disappointed.

Smaller zoo but very intimate setting and well kept. We came here on an outing for the Cub Scouts so we had an education session where the kids learned about and meet a hedgehog, teeny tiny gecko and a turtle. They were able to make a bird feeder too using a pine cone coated in Crisco oil (that was a fun mess to witness) and then rolled in bird food. Our zoo educator was Rachel who was quite lovely. She was young, full of energy and very knowledgeable. You could tell she loved the animals and her job. Thanks Rachel. After the 2 hour education session, we were able to walk around to check out the rest of the zoo. The Wild Life show was pretty cool. It was short, maybe 15-20 min at the most and we got to meet a super cute SLOTH!!! Totally reminded me of Zootopia. Lol. So much to see. Snakes, tigers, bears, panthers, koalas, crocodiles and more! This zoo is so nice. The nature play area was pretty amazing. And our kids did not want to leave. We would love to come back with friends. Beautiful zoo.

It's a much smaller zoo. Not as many animals as I was expecting. I'm not going to under rate because It wasn't the best day for weather so a lot of the animals were seeking shelter. Was still a good experience for my toddler who had his first experience at the zoo.

I Took my Granddaughter to this zoo and I have to say the price to get in was ridiculous 30.00 for me and 30.00 for my wife we come from N.Y. And there is no comparison when it comes to zoo's. This place had nothing that was worth 60.00 I can't believe that there was nothing exciting about this place. One tiger two baby bears two otters I mean it really was a rip off as far as we are concerned.I would not recommend this zoo to anyone I like but if I don't like you I would send you there in a minute.we were totally disappointed, I'm sorry to write this review but it was that bad.maybe if they get enough reviews they might do something about this place.

The West Palm Beach Zoo is a perfect place to visit with your children, I took my little nephew there and he loves it. The zoo is divided into four parts, The Islands, Asia, Tropics of the Americas, and Florida Wetlands. Additionally, it has a water fountain in which children can play, so make sure to bring your bathing suit. Is it possible to feed the animals? Oh Yeah!!! it's possible. The zoo sells $3 bagged food for lorikeet loft or you can pay for the "animals experiences". What about Animals Experiences? The zoo offers you different "animal experiences", the opportunity to touch and be close to the animals that you like. Each experience has an additional cost to the zoo ticket, and the schedules of each animal experience vary based on the animal you choose.

I love this Zoo. The animals were all at sight. The zoo is clean. The staff is welcoming. The cafeteria has yummy fast food. The splash pad for the kids is big and clean. I had a great time with my grandbabies.

Palm beach zoo was so funnnn!!! I don't know why it had only a 3.6 star! I had so much fun looking at all of the animals! All of the exhibits were full and active! The zoo keepers were helpful explaining things. I have been to the Detroit zoo and this is 10x better

This zoo is not well kept at all.....really a mess! Needs a total overhaul/cleanup...... I would never recommend to any of our friends. Empty animal stalls, dirty water in the pens, etc

Not small not big Zoo pretty close to my house. Never knew about it but we went with our little boy for 1st time and it was pretty good time we had. 47$ for 2 adults and it take us about 1.5h to walk it around. It was hot day so some animals were hidden but Bear and Tigers its always good to see :) .. pretty clean and friendly stuff working there. For sure not last visit.

Small zoo but I thought they had more than enough to kill about 2 hours at. They had a good range of animals, some "big" ones which are the main attraction. They can be hidden at times, which can be frustrating but the benefit of it being a smaller zoo is you can come back. We were able to see 3 of them when we did a second pass that we missed on the first. Also they have a fountain in the front that the kids love to play in, bring a bathing suit.

I came here with my boyfriend and his daughters who we're excited to go to this zoo for their first time. We decided to come to this zoo instead of the Miami zoo since the drive is easier heading north. It was the end of June and it was a very hot day which was expected but they have little to no water fountains and zero misters to cool you off. We literally finished the entire zoo from start to finish in an hour and a half. The tickets were also over priced. The miami zoo tickets are cheaper and it takes you all day to see everything! We won't be returning to this zoo again. If you have to choose, definitely choose the miami zoo for sure!

This Zoo we go to alot. Staff amazing, and very spacious and the different areas of exploring and the animals are awake and alert. I love taking my daughter to this place

I have been coming to this zoo for the past two years with my son. It's not the best with the upkeep of some things but it's close and gives me and my son something to do during the week. I've seen things that could potentially harm my child and I would steer him away. Accidents do happen but on Friday January 26, 2024 I was left horrified at the injury my son received due to the negligence of the zoo. He was eating lunch and looking at lizards when he hit his head. When I realized he wasn't calming down I removed his hand and the blood started pooling down his forehead. I rushed over to where he was standing and on the fence there was a post that had fallen off and was cleaned up yet they disregarded the rusty screw that was sticking straight out and had now punctured my 3 year olds head. When I went running to find a zoo worker to call first aid as we waited she thought it was appropriate to tell my son, as the blood is coming from his head and he's crying, that "it's not as bad as a shot". When I looked over at her she said "just trying to lighten the mood" there is nothing to lighten the mood when your three year old has just had a screw puncture his head as he is rightfully upset and in pain. Once first aid arrived we cleaned up the wound as best as possible during this time another zoo employee walked over asked if this is the kid and then walked away only to say on the radio that "everything is fine. The kids okay. Nothing bigger than an eraser head". While in fact there was nothing fine about this and wether he was okay was still unsure until he was checked by a doctor. After I spoke with the security guard he said "I'm glad I have the staff here to fix it so it doesn't happen to another child" to which I replied "it shouldn't have happened at all" and he slightly shrugged his shoulders and said "well...". I went to the hospital right after to have the wound properly cleaned and to make sure the screw didn't puncture too far into his head. Luckily for everyone at this time he seems to be okay. I am extremely displeased with the negligence and lack of care during the time of incident from the zoo. This is a place for children to come yet the maintenance bar is set so slow. I would be extremely cautious while coming here especially with your small children.

The Palm Beach Zoo is small, but has a surprisingly good representation of animals, from around the world, for its size. Unfortunately, they go through periods where they really let their physical plant, and some of the habitats suffer. Glass enclosed habitats' water is both filthy, and algae-laden. The lagoon, behind their cafe, has a thin film of oil over it. Many of the habitats have been modernized, but spaces, like the bald eagle enclosure, is small, and open air, and they clip the birds' wings to keep them in place. The place is very disorganized. Monkeys monkeys everywhere. One path the just goes off to nowhere. The Tiger enclosure has a service area in the middle of it that doesn't let on that there is another path to a second enclosure and, yes, even more monkeys. Several exhibits are either long term closed, or inoperable with apologies signs that have been there, for a while. The center of the zoo's entry is a splash fountain for kids. They have a small, decrepit looking carousel by the petite petting zoo. They also have a lot of gators, and caimans, scattered. The white gator is one of the highlights of the zoo. They have a jaguar, with a nice habitat, and some money poured into it. Too bad that maintenance of all of the physical plant keeps being put off. It makes you not want to come through here. Food? It was getting better, a bit, before Covid. They have a nice cafe, as zoos go. Food is awful. Souvenirs are also low-thought MBA minimalist. They need to get someone good at branding in here to really kick up their too gift shops. Keeping the big one open, until park close is a problem. Speaking of which, don't come late in the day. If close is at 5p they will shut down all services by 4:30p. The staff gets their track shoes on, and sprints like insane Usain Bolts, to get the heck out of there. I became a member.
