Quite literally, the best place hotel I’ve stayed at anywhere around the world. The setting is simply perfect and the staff members are truly the beating heart of the Palm - they have made my stay so memorable and so exceptional. The food is really tasty at the Palm so even if you are not staying make sure you stop by for some delicious food. The pool is gorgeous and the rooms are so unique, i dont think i’ve stayed anywhere like this before. I can’t wait to be back at the Palm and visit Sri Lanka again. The Palm really has felt like my home away from home. I also did Muay Thai with Kush at Palm Fit which was a phenomenal experience in 32 degrees heat. All in all, i had the best time there. Thank you Lahiru, Miriam & the entire Palm family for looking after us ♥️ cannot recommend this place enough!

I have been to The Palm on several occasions now and every time it has been amazing. Not only is the set-up of the main restaurant and the a-frame cabanas super stylish, it is so open, welcoming and a place to really switch off and get away. The menu (and cocktails!) are also great, a mix of local and international unique and tasty dishes. I also like the fact that they support local community initiatives too. If you are in Ahangama, I would highly recommend going for either a stay, food or a day pass.

PLAM Hotel Ahangama. A Peaceful Retreat PLAM Hotel in Ahangama offers a tranquil and comfortable stay, providing a serene escape set back from the immediate coastline. While it may not have direct beach access, it compensates with its peaceful ambiance, well-appointed accommodations, and attentive service, making it a solid choice for travelers seeking a relaxing base in the Ahangama area. What We Appreciated: * Serene and Quiet Ambiance: Located away from the immediate beachfront bustle, PLAM Hotel offers a peaceful retreat. The surroundings are often lush and green, providing a calming atmosphere that's ideal for unwinding. * Stylish and Comfortable Rooms: The rooms are generally well-designed with a modern touch, emphasizing comfort and functionality. Expect comfortable beds, air conditioning, and private bathrooms. Many rooms may also feature balconies or terraces with views of the surrounding greenery. * Delicious Food: The hotel's restaurant is often praised for its tasty offerings, featuring a mix of local and international cuisine. While the ocean breeze might be absent, the focus on fresh ingredients and well-prepared meals remains a highlight. Breakfasts are likely to be a satisfying start to the day. * Friendly and Helpful Staff: The service at PLAM Hotel is consistently mentioned as being warm and attentive. The staff are usually happy to assist with arranging transportation to the beach or other local attractions, and they strive to ensure a comfortable stay for their guests. * Refreshing Pool Area: Many inland hotels in the area, including PLAM, often feature a swimming pool, providing a welcome respite from the tropical heat. This allows guests to relax and cool down even without immediate beach access. The pool area is likely to be a tranquil space for lounging. * Good Value for Money: Often, hotels slightly inland can offer excellent value for money compared to beachfront properties. PLAM Hotel likely provides comfortable accommodations and good amenities at a competitive price point. * Easy Access to Attractions: While not on the beach, PLAM Hotel usually offers easy access to the various beaches and attractions in the Ahangama area via short tuk-tuk rides. The staff can typically assist with arranging transportation. Things to Consider: * No Direct Beach Access: This is the most significant point. Guests will need to take a short tuk-tuk ride (usually readily available and affordable) to reach the beaches of Ahangama or nearby coastal areas. * Potentially Less Ocean Ambiance: While the tranquility is a plus, those specifically seeking the constant sound of the waves and immediate beach access might miss that direct connection to the ocean. * Surrounding Area: Depending on the exact location inland, the immediate surroundings might be more residential or green countryside rather than bustling tourist strips. Overall: PLAM Hotel in Ahangama offers a peaceful and comfortable alternative to beachfront accommodations. Its focus on tranquility, well-appointed rooms, good food, and friendly service makes it a worthwhile option for travelers who prioritize a relaxing base and are happy to take short rides to access the beaches and other attractions in the area. If you value a serene environment and good value, PLAM Hotel provides a pleasant and convenient stay in Ahangama.

This hotel is not worth the price. Yes it is beautiful and calm location in the jungle and rooms are beautiful but it is very overpriced. We stayed in cabana and there was space under the door for insects to get inside. There was no coffee or tea in the room. Our sheets and towels were not changed very often.

One of the best places in Sri Lanka hands down. Very close to all the nice eating places. Exceptionally clean. Polite staff. Pool is fabulous. The pictures are exactly how the place is. Kid friendly.

I've just come back from a week at PALM as part of the Ticket To Ride Luxury Surf Retreat, and I had the most wonderful stay at PALM. PALM was the perfect place to relax post surf, the Cabanas were gorgeous and super comfortable and the staff were all amazing and so friendly, nothing was ever too much trouble. Plus, the post surf breakfasts were just the perfect refuel (and all the food was delicious). Would highly recommend staying here, whether you are surfing or just looking to relax!

This hotel is AMAZING and unlike anything we’ve ever experienced before. We stayed for 2 nights as the first stop on our tour of Sri Lanka and it felt like we were in paradise. The grounds, rooms and main restaurant area are stunning, beautifully maintained and have everything you need. And it is all set amongst beautiful tall palm trees and rice paddies. Loved little touches such as beautifully smelling insect repellent lotion next to the soap in our room. We particularly enjoyed the lovely warm swimming pool where we spotted plenty of exotic birds and even a few monkeys. Staff were 10/10. We couldn’t fault any of them and they couldn’t do enough for you. The food and drink was also delicious, in particular the curry leaf fries and the fresh juices. The hotel owners have clearly thought of everything and we are so grateful this place exists to have made such a perfect start to our holiday.
