Dubai's Man-made Islands: Everything You Need to Know

"A palm-shaped artificial island with a trunk and 17 fronds wrapped by an almost seven-mile crescent, developed from 2001 and now home to luxurious residences and hotels. It's accessible via an underwater tunnel from the mainland or the Palm Monorail, features a mixed-use tower with a 52nd-floor observation deck that links directly to a large mall with more than 300 shops, and even offers skydiving vantage points for dramatic aerial views of the island's distinctive shape." - Danielle Berman Danielle Berman Danielle Berman is a lifelong Jersey girl, travel journalist, and marketing professional in the hospitality and publishing space. Palm Jumeirah is a truly iconic man-made island shaped like a palm tree—one of Dubai’s most impressive engineering marvels. It offers luxury at every turn, from 5-star hotels like Atlantis The Palm to fine dining, beach clubs, and high-end residences. The views are stunning—both of the Dubai Marina skyline and the Arabian Gulf. You can relax on private beaches, dine at rooftop restaurants, or take a monorail ride to explore the island. Great for both tourists and residents looking for a blend of relaxation, entertainment, and exclusivity. A must-see in Dubai!

Just incredible. The vision to imagine this project, and then follow through on it, is a credit to all involved. Can't wait for my next stay here, sooner rather than later i hope.

Palm Jumeirah is a beautiful place to explore. The experience was not bad, and the views are stunning. I recommend visiting in the evening for the best photos and sunset views.

Palm Jumeirah is such a beautiful spot to see. The best hotels are located on the Palm. You can as well park your car and walk at the sea side walkway.

Having lived and worked on the Palm since 2009, its hard to find a place that has incredible developments, world class amenities, superb connectivity and an unmatched lifestyle.

After you take the tram, you’ll have to walk through a car park for about 5 minutes to the monorail area. To buy a day pass it’s 35 Dirham. If you’re not doing any water sports I don’t think there’s much so you can skip going to the end stop, and if you’re not going to spend to go up to the view point (I think it’s over 100 dirham) then don’t bother coming here.
