Great stay. Lovely staff. Food was very nice. Location and beach were amazing. Dropped to 2 stars when we witnessed the owner beat the living day lights out of an innocent lizard with his flip flop. This resort is amongst nature and nature is part of the experience. A lizard, walking across the floor of the open air restaurant which is located amongst the palm trees of the beach, does not deserve to be killed

Most luxurious place we visited in our 10 night stay in Sri Lanka! Very attentive staff!!! All smile and help! Perfect beach!!! Amasing room for 4. All extremely clean. Super swimming pool. Beautiful scenery!!! Nature all around! Did I say clean? All towels smelled so well!!! Can't believe anybody will leave bad comment here!!!The kids wouldn't want to leave. Top!!!

We had booked a cabana, but when we arrived, we found out that they were all occupied, even though we had made the reservation through Booking.com. The reception staff just shrugged and were even slightly aggressive in their communication (by the way, on the second day, there seemed to be a manager, and everyone was super friendly). Considering the cabana was more expensive than a regular room, they didn’t offer any discounts, didn’t apologize, or do anything at all! The staff doesn’t know how to communicate. Despite the very unpleasant check-in experience, the hotel left a great impression overall. The rooms were clean and spacious, there was a small garden with chairs and a table, beach towels were provided, and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. The beach was absolutely gorgeous, my favorite in Sri Lanka! It wasn’t too crowded, it was very beautiful, and you could take a walk at sunset to a neighboring beach through the rocks. The waves were soft and fun, swimming was a delight! The hotel clearly has a lot of soul, with so many little details and thoughtful touches. There are two restaurants (both decent, with reasonable prices), good breakfasts, a game room (board games, ping-pong, darts, and other), a huge and well-maintained territory, and on-site, you can see langurs and monitor lizards! It's a shame, though, that the staff tarnishes all these positive aspects.

Lets start with the positives, as there are a few despite my experience score....||The area the cabanas are situated in is really beautiful. A real jungle type experience with lots of lush vegetation and a variety of animal life. The beautiful beach nearby is real treat. I found the staff I dealt with to be very friendly and the Manager was a great guy who tried to do all he could to make my stay enjoyable. The breakfast was decent and the coffee excellent, at the restaurant beside the lovely swimming pool area. The rooms/suites looked amazing when viewed from the outside looking in.||Now the bad.....||I booked a double cabana for 7 nights over Xmas. BIG MISTAKE. For what I was paying, I expected much, much better based on the costs of other resorts I have stayed in whilst travelling round Sri Lanka (there have been quiet a few). I understood the cabanas were not traditional rooms/suites and I had read the reviews on Trip Advisor and Booking.com before I booked. ||Make no mistake - the inside of the cabanas is not as advertised on the website/booking.com !!!!. They are very dark, dated and in pretty poor condition - not like the modern, bright images you see when booking. The covers, pillows and blankets looked very old and well worn. The noise from the beach and fireworks was LOUD and stopped me from being able to sleep. I had dogs at my cabana door at 3am and 5am. I love dogs but hearing them fighting right outside in the middle of the night was not exactly ideal.||The restaurant for the rooms/suites and pool area are lovely. The restaurant for the cabanas in dark, unappealing and I instinctively avoided it (I was told I had to use this one). It's like they have created an internal class structure at this resort. One half excellent, the other not so much. ||I was so very disappointed that I left after one night. Much credit to the Manager though for trying to find me another room and looking at issues with the wifi (pretty poor signal in some of the cabanas). He did offer me another cabana and an alternative room but I declined as one wasnt available for my entire stay (only for a couple of nights). Eventually I was refunded the majority of my payment. ||In summary - avoid the cabanas at all costs. Definitely not worth the money and a really poor experience. The room/suites look like they would be worth the stay though, going by what I saw and other comments online.||If you find yourself staying in a cabana and have a similar experience to me, talk to the manager, get a refund and move on.

While you would have quite high expectations reading some of the reviews for this location, unfortunately the place is terribly maintained and staff is far from a professional service level. It is certainly in a nice place right next to the beach and it doesn’t feel very crowded. Yet, Any of the common areas lack a proper level of attention/maintenance. And the bedding in the cabana definitely needs an overhaul.||All in all for what is advertised and what you spend, there is way better places to be found.

This place was the most expensive and worst place we stayed in the whole of Sri Lanka travelling for a month. Yes the location is great right on the beach but that’s where it ends. The food was both awful and made us ill, the whole resort is run down, and aside from the cleaning and ground staff we found the staff pretty rude and unwelcoming. The owners didn’t even say hello. It was probably a nice place 20 years ago but charging $100 per night for the family cabana I expected something a lot better. We have stayed in a lot of lovely places costing a lot less which have been much much better. The decor was tired, the linens smellt bad, bathroom full of ants and the mosquito nets had so many holes we got badly bitten. We ended up taking all our meals at neighbouring Goyambokka beach retreat- the food was great, staff were so kind and the grounds were lovely- and rooms considerably cheaper. The final insult from Palm paradise was being charged for meals so awful we sent back. Avoid this place!

We stayed in a wooden cabana. No AC, but cooled down quickly with fans in the room. You can hear the sea throughout the grounds. Very close to several beach options, so didn’t need the compact triangular pool. Highly recommend Loveena’s restaurant 2 minutes away.

Fantastic location just by Goyambokka Beach, which is great for body boarding. There are a range of beach bars that also do food, where you can use the loungers and body boards if you buy drinks. Palm Paradise has the most beautiful and well maintained grounds that attract a range of wildlife. During our stay we saw mongoose, land monitors, palm squirrel and giant squirrels, fruit bats, geckoes and a range of beautiful birds, amphibians and insects. We loved the trees, flowers and swings. The hotel manager was fantastic - very friendly, accommodating and generous. We stayed in a villa which had everything we needed. There is probably a little refurbishment to be done but that would not stop us going back. Personally would prefer no smoking or vaping at the hotel. The food was fresh and generous. We also enjoyed Chanu, Laveena and DNK for evening meals. We had a beautiful lagoon boat trip at the Kalametiya bird sanctuary, and went snorkelling with Tangalle Fishing and Snorkelling. We would have liked to see less plastic use at the hotel, and recycling facilities. Overall, a great place to stay if you love the sea and wildlife.
