Yelp
Stayed here over Memorial Day, 5/27 - 5/30, 2022. I was mentally at 3.5 stars, but my lean is more toward 4 stars. I have nothing bad to say, the club is loaded with charm and the staff was outstanding, we truly enjoyed ourselves.
The highlights: LOCATION = can't beat the location, right up against the San Jacinto mountains, in the historic Palm Springs tennis district, just a 2 block walk to the heart of downtown Palm Springs w/ tons of shops, restaurants and cafes. UNITS = we stayed in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath "Wimbledon" bungalow. They have a full kitchen, living room, and little private patio out back, which I utilized to enjoy a nightly cigar. The couch is also a pullout, you cold easily accommodate 5-6 people. POOLS = the main oval pool (adults only) is sweet - right up against Mt. San Jacinto, with a few cabanas, lounge chairs, and big retro jacuzzi. Right outside our room (#354) was the quiet pool, which is where we spent our time. We enjoyed meeting several other individuals staying at the tennis club. FRIENDLY SERVICE = ask for whatever you need, and you will likely get it with a smile. TENNIS COURTS = plenty of these as you might imagine, you do need to make a reservation, but it's not a problem getting on. FREE BIKE RENTALS = great way to see the surrounding neighborhoods and head into town, I enjoyed ridding a tandem bike with my daughter. GREAT HIKING NEARBY = You can walk to the start of the North Lykken Trail, the Museum Trail, or the Tahquitz Trail, with the beautiful Tahquitz waterfall at the end (so I've read). See my review for the Museum trail head hike. AMENITIES AND ACTIVITIES = they have so many fun, free things to do! In addition to the bikes, they have board games and DVD check-outs, game room w/ foosball, shuffleboard and pool table, plus outdoor ping pong, skee ball and basketball. Plus, they have a few activities each day, like lawn games, movies, Bingo, crafts, etc. Also, the renowned restaurant, Spencer's, is right on site, but we did not dine there. PARKING = you get your own reserved parking spot which is convenient.
I guess I'm not at 5 stars because the property is dated, but, that is also part of the charm and allure, the amenities are always evolving but they are not making any quantum architectural leaps, and they likely don't want that. Everything works great and we really enjoyed ourselves, I look forward to a return visit.
