Our stay was absolutely amazing! We were pleasantly surprised to find a private jacuzzi in our room—it made the experience even more special. Every restaurant we tried served delicious food, and we especially loved spending time by the pool. What truly made our stay unforgettable were the incredible staff—always welcoming, friendly, and providing top-notch service with a smile. This resort is perfect for anyone looking for peace, privacy, and relaxation. Highly recommended for its tranquil ambiance and excellent hospitality! Heads up to Rolando, Gustavo, Angellus and Mateo You all rock!!!

We loved the food, every restaurant had something unique and with lots of fresh seafood options. The desserts are all very creative and tasty. Morning and lunch buffet has wide selections, we loved how much fruits and veggies there were (no fresh passion fruit though, maybe due to season). The staff are great especially if you tip a few bucks at each meal. They serve top shelf Mexican liquor. All the facilities are well kept and very clean. It’s not very crowded which I liked, with a good mix of families and non families. There were seaweeds along the beach when we went, couldn’t enjoy the sand, though overall we really liked our stay.

Terrible Experience – Do Not Recommend I recently stayed at Palmar Beach Resort in Mexico, and it was by far one of the most disappointing resort experiences I’ve ever had. I was traveling with a group, and we had four rooms total booked across the property — including my Ocean View Two-Bedroom Suite , which was supposed to be a premium experience. It was anything but. Here are just a few of the issues we encountered: No Air Conditioning: My suite had no functioning AC the entire stay. I requested to be moved multiple times and was consistently denied. In the Mexican heat, this made it nearly unbearable. Wild Animals on the Property: Raccoon-like animals roamed the resort freely, digging through trash and getting dangerously close to guests. It was unsanitary and uncomfortable. Terrible Customer Service: Our second butler, Jane, was dismissive and unhelpful. She clearly did not care to assist us and treated us like we were an inconvenience. Rude Front Desk Staff: At checkout, Alfredo at the front desk was incredibly rude and condescending. I requested a printed receipt and was told “you wouldn’t understand” before he finally printed it and claimed my balance was $0. Then, moments later, he asked for my credit card for “additional charges.” His behavior was sketchy and unprofessional. No Manager Access: I requested to speak with a manager every single day, and I was either ignored or denied each time. There was zero accountability or resolution offered. I have video proof of the conditions, the wild animals on the property, and the bizarre interaction at checkout. This trip was supposed to be a relaxing getaway but turned into a stressful and disappointing experience. Save your money and avoid this place at all costs. The service is poor, the environment is uncomfortable, and the staff is unprofessional and dismissive. I have since requested a full refund and am waiting to hear back from management.

A Sanctuary of Luxury and Warmth From the moment we arrived at Polmaris in Cancun, it was clear we had found a truly exceptional resort. Our welcome was especially appreciated after a challenging flight cancellation, and the staff's immediate warmth and efficiency instantly soothed any lingering travel woes. The first impression is simply breathtaking. We actually had to hold our breath due to the stench of decomposing seaweed but the resort can't control that. The resort's beauty is undeniable, with meticulously manicured landscaping that creates an oasis of tranquility and visual delight at every turn. Strolling through the grounds felt like wandering through a vibrant, tropical paradise. What truly elevates Palmar, however, is its incredible team. Every staff member we encountered was genuinely friendly and eager to assist, contributing to an atmosphere of genuine hospitality that made our stay feel truly special. As expected from a 5-star establishment, the food and beverage offerings at Palmar are nothing short of superb. From refreshing cocktails to exquisite culinary creations, every bite and sip met, and often exceeded, our high expectations. A particular highlight was our dining experience at the Caribbean restaurant. The service was impeccable, attentive without being intrusive, and the food was a delectable journey of flavors. Coupled with expertly crafted drinks, it was a truly memorable evening. Palmar isn't just a resort; it's an experience. Its stunning beauty, combined with an outstanding staff and exceptional dining, creates a perfect escape for those seeking luxury, relaxation, and genuine hospitality. We left feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and already dreaming of our next visit.

Food and staff were superb . Unfortunately 1/2 hotel was under construction with lots of noise. Beach usable full of sargassum. Whole hotel smells bad when wind blows inland. Not many guest so close everything early. Cannot get a drink at the pool after 5:00pm. Hotel very far for Main road. They sell packages minimum $50-100 per person to go to beach or just to get out hotel..

People are very friendly, especially Mauricio and Sergio at the Pool - great service! The food is great as well in all restaurants. However, the people from the Kids Club were not friendly; they didn’t allow us to use the area, even though no kids were there! They only offered to play Mexican lottery at the lobby of the club area (my kid is only 4 years old). I understand there is a schedule, but if there are no kids, why can't we use the play area? Additionally, be aware that the beach is very small, and we went during the sargassum season, so we were not able to be around the beach.

We went for a wedding and the staff were amazing. We went when it wasn't at full capacity, so we were able to try all the restaurants and the food was fantastic. The entire place is clean and the staff are extremely helpful. The staff who stood out was Bettyna! She worked the adults only bar and she took fantastic care of us. It got to the point where when she saw as the cabana, she was bringing us our orders. She was so personable and friendly, and always made sure we were taken care of. I've had awesome bartenders, but she went above and beyond. She absolutely made our experience even more memorable!

First, I’d like to highlight the positive aspects. The food was fresh and delicious, and we were especially impressed by the service from Jesus and Rogelio at breakfast, Eme at dinner, the bartenders at Bar Latino, and DJ Alberto. They were warm, welcoming, and truly enhanced our stay. However, our overall experience was mixed due to inconsistent service. Some staff members were unapproachable or inattentive—two servers even addressed only my husband and completely ignored me, which felt disrespectful. Additionally, I had a frustrating experience when trying to request water; I was incorrectly told we had a "do not disturb" sign, even though housekeeping had entered earlier that day. The staff member on the phone was unnecessarily argumentative. We also noticed a persistent seaweed smell throughout the hotel, and unfortunately, there was no beach access due to seaweed buildup. While we understand this is a natural issue, it did impact our enjoyment. Our room had a strong smell of sewage that stuck to our clothes. The property also felt quite empty at times, which may be a plus for those seeking quiet, but could be a drawback for guests looking to socialize. Another concern was the presence of mosquitoes and ants. I was bitten multiple times inside our room while I slept. Another guest reported a similar experience. She had bites all over her legs. It would be helpful if pest control measures could be increased to address this. That said, we made the most of our stay and had a great time at Bar Latino every night. We hope this feedback is helpful for improving guest experiences in the future.
