We had a wonderful dining experience. Our waitress is originally from Kazakhstan. I can't remember her name, but she was awesome. The food was delicious, from the garlic cheese bread to the Beefy grilled cheese I had and the gyro, the cheeseburger, and the Philly cheese steak that the rest of us had. The kitchen was backed up, and there was a 20ish minute wait to be seated, but overall, everything was amazing!!!!

Google
A Palmer, AK classic. Serving local beer and delicious food, this alehouse is worth the wait (which often happens during peak hours). I never miss a visit (or more) to the Palmer Alehouse when I'm in town. The most noteworthy accomplishment, in my esteem, is the BEST BLOODY MARY ON EARTH (in my limited experience). Served with delicious pickled green beans, real horseradish, a hamburger slider, bacon, and the obligatory lemon, olives and celery - EPIC.

Unfortunately on the night that there is a band, the kitchen staff should probably not be brand new. The server was very attentive and informed us of the issue prior to ordering, but we figured we would still get our food at the same time and it would be warm. It seems like it could be a great place.

Google
Great food! Great vibe! This was my second time visiting Palmer Ale House. The first time was in September, so we sat inside. It was a bit too cold outside. The music was nice, and the workers were all very friendly. My second visit there was in June. It was nice to sit on the back patio seating area. The staff was very friendly and all customers seemed to enjoy it. We ordered burgers and a personal pizza. Those options were very delicious. I recommend this spot for those who do the glacier tour. It is along the route back to Anchorage, and it is the perfect place to reflect on your glacier tour and enjoy a local beer.

Google
Great steak sandwich and more tap beers than I could count on my fingers and toes! Bloody Mary was awesome as well. Looks like a great entertainment spot. Bonus was the option for pitchers of craft beers.

Google
Such a vibrant atmosphere, even at 10 PM on a Monday! The food took a bit of time, but it was well worth the wait from my perspective. I absolutely loved the vegetarian version of the "Thai pizza" — swapped the chicken for spinach, and it was incredible. The fries were also perfectly done and super tasty. They had some nice, easy-drinking beers on tap and a refreshing pineapple cider too. My husband wasn’t as into his pepperoni pizza, but overall, I’d highly recommend this spot if you’re in Palmer!

Stopped in after hiking for drinks and pizza. Excellent service at the bar. Give it a try.

Google
We are vegetarians, we had jalapeños popper pizza( without bacon) spinach goat cheese salad (vegetarian version), spicy burger with veggie patty. It was so good and service was great too

Yelp
In a historic building with amazing history, this place has modern, but eclectic vibes. The burger and salad we ordered were delicious and the service was exceptionally friendly.

Yelp
Used to be a solid spot, but Palmer Ale House has seriously gone downhill. The food is still decent, but it's nowhere near good enough to justify the attitude you get from the staff now. There's this tiny guy with glasses who is the first person you see, yet he treated me and my group like we were wasting his time just by being there. completely dismissive. Our server was flat-out unprofessional the entire time. No manners, no friendliness, just a bad attitude from start to finish. It's a shame because Palmer could really use more ale houses, but with better service and ownership that actually gives a damn. I saw the owner reply to someone else's review a few times and completely dismiss what they went through! Absolutely zero accountability, just gaslighting. That alone says everything you need to know about how this place is run now. Not sure if it's under new ownership, but something definitely changed. Last year? Staff was better, food came out faster, and it actually felt like a place worth coming to. Now it's just trash. I'd love to see another ale house come into town and knock this one out of the water. Palmer deserves better than this. It needs a new owner!

Yelp
The service at Palmer Alehouse was absolutely terrible. The staff acted like they were doing us a favor by even acknowledging us. Most of them seemed entitled, unprofessional, and had major attitudes, it felt like they just didn't want to be there. I've been to a lot of restaurants in my time, and I have to say the service here was some of the worst I've experienced. I have never witness staff act like they were too busy or too important to take care of the customers properly. I waited far too long for everything, to be greeted, to get a drink, to place my order. When the food finally came, it was nothing to write home about. The servers seemed more interested in chatting with each other than checking on their tables. No sense of professionalism or courtesy. I won't be coming back, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for a decent meal and good service. Very disappointing. If you're looking for friendly service or a place that respects its customers, this is NOT it. Avoid at all costs.

Yelp
Burger was sooo good but the best part was the black and blue fries. Hand cut fries with Cajun seasoning, blue cheese sauce and blue cheese crumbles . . . So dang good. Sat at the bar for lunch and the bartender was super friendly and helpful.

L E.

Yelp
We love it here, no complaints! Food is always great! They have live music all summer with a beer truck outside so you don't have to enter the restaurant.

Yelp
This place was very solid. It took a while to get seated as I think they were short staffed. However the food was very good and all the workers were friendly. The burgers and pizza are pretty good. I would recommend this place, a great option if your around the valley/palmer.
google avatar

Yelp
This place used to be pretty great. Then there was some kind of upheaval and it went to a reduced menu for a while. It is back to a mostly old menu. We went back and had a great server Galina. She was great. The food though was not. My burger made me ill, not sure what it was, it just tasted off. I felt awful for hours after eating it. My wife had fish and chips and hers also tasted very off. She didn't want to eat it. On the bright side, we ordered the bread pudding and it was spectacular! Really good. We will go back just for the dessert. I will skip the food though. Disappointing.

Yelp
What a great night out for drinks! The Alehouse is doing a special $3 mystery beer special where if you guess the beer right they will tell you the answer, otherwise it's a mystery! Really enjoyed trying a new beer (no, we did not guess correctly). We finished off with the classic loaded Bloody Mary (practically a meal by itself!).

Yelp
Waited half an hour for a table, then another half an hour for food in the hot sun. The waitress offered to let us cash out the drinks only and leave before the food arrived. We agreed with their offer and asked to check out and leave. Then they came back and said it would only be ten minutes. Fifteen more minutes went by and we asked again to just pay for the drinks and leave, handing them a card. Then the manager comes out with the food packed to go, despite our request, having already ran the card with the food included, forcing us to pay. They refused to honor their own offer to us and forced us to pay for food after offering to let us walk away. The manager was rude and completely unreasonable. Easily the worst restaurant experience of my life. Go anywhere else.

Cathy F.

Yelp
Good beer selection. Good casual venue. Since we were with our dog, we had to order our food to go. We were told they would call us when it was ready. We waited over 30 minutes for a burger and a hot sandwich. Got no call. Went in to check on it. Were told that they had no record of our order ( which we had already paid for). Told them we wanted a refund. Then someone found it sitting cold on a counter. I think it might have tasted okay if it hadn't been cold when we finally had to go prompt them to find it. Also while we were waiting we got served a beer that was the yeast from the bottom of a keg. The bartender acknowledged it was the dregs but insisted it would taste okay. It was nasty. Not impressed.

Yelp
I've been here before and had really good experience. The burger was perfectly cooked and I had a rap of some sort with goat cheese and grapes that I am in love with. However, this last time I went, they were told me there was a 15 to 20 minute wait. But when I looked around the restaurant, it was nearly completely empty just dirty tables and when I finally got seated, I ordered some nachos. These nachos were probably the worst ones I've ever had in a restaurant. The chips sucked the "in house made salsa" looked and tasted like old tomato mush. I decided to order a specialty pizza. It was a jalapeño popper pizza. This too was a mistake. It tasted gross. When I come back, I'll stick with the burger and the goat cheese chicken wrap. Maybe I'll try another pizza but it will be something that's traditional in flavor. Overall from my handful experiences I'd rate this restaurant a solid 6.5 out of 10.

Yelp
Giving two stars because they have a fun music line up this summer. Expect long lines for drinks. If you want food, you have to sit inside or on the patio which is not pet friendly. They have one line for pizza outside separate from the patio. The man working last time chose who he let pay with cash and pay with card. It was super weird. He also varied the price by $1 depending on who was paying. Was he pocketing the extra cash? Not sure why else he would have done that. I was standing close by so got to observe what was going on. Kind of a weird vibe here since you have a lot of children running around but also drunken middle aged folk

Yelp
Server was incredible and accommodating. The nachos and hot sub were delicious. The flights were labelled and super refreshing. The decor inside had a rock and roll feel to it. Super charming atmosphere with a relaxed vibe. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Quesadilla down! Alert, alert! The menu at Alehouse has changed. By 50%. No more Buffalo chicken salad. No more quesadillas. Many less pizzas. No more pulled pork. Still more than 40 beers. Still great service.

Corbin P.

Yelp
Waited 2 hours asked them not to make our food and cash out, 40 min later they came with our food badged up and made us pay, we were offered if we didn't want to wait we could cash out and go. We accepted that option. But they the manager refused and made us pay for it even though we were trying to leave for 40 min so obviously they had not started on our food when we asked for the check.

Cheryl K.

Yelp
Great service and excellent food. We went with a large group of 8 on Saturday night. Wait time to be seated was 45 minutes. I had the grilled chicken club sandwich and seafood chowder. Both dishes were excellent.

Yelp
Clean spot, good food, and quick service! Gluten free pizza was really good. French fries were the best I've had.

Yelp
My first visit to this excellent restaurant. An extensive selection of craft beers, great cocktails and absolutely delicious food. I was here at lunch and ordered the Beefy Cheese Sandwich on toasted sourdough bread. The bread was fresh baked and delicious lightly toasted piled full of sliced roast beef, red onion, cheese and an horseradish sauce. The beef was tender, sliced perfectly and ample. The cheese melted just right and the red onion fresh and flavorful. Overall the sandwich was outstanding. It came with your choice of French fries, tomato basil soup or a salad. For 2.90 you could upgrade to onion rings or sweet potato fries. I choose the cup of soup which is made daily in-house. It was thick, very well seasoned and delicious. The soup was garnished with shredded cheese. I also had a non-alcoholic craft beer Athletic Brewing Company Hazy IPA. Until today I did not know that nonalcoholic craft beer existed. It was very much like actual real beer in taste and body. I have to find a source to replace the Coors and Odoul's nonalcoholic beer I have drinking for ever. This was wonderful. I will return to this restaurant to try their other selections and can highly recommend them. Good for everyone including families with many tables, bar seats and and upstairs dining room. The service was friendly and efficient.

Yelp
Overpriced for sub-par food and dirty environment, walked through a cloud of staff smoking in the front. Next time I'll look for another local restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
This place rocks. Great food Alot to look at in the building...that ambiance thing!!! Alot of local beers. And the staff...just awesome. Will be returning when back in Alaska later this year. Thank you all for all the great stuff

Ian G.

Yelp
Came over here and ate some decent tacos for being made in Alaska lol. They did have a good selection of beers and the service was quick and friendly.

Yelp
The service here is typcial of Palmer: awesome. Everyone wears a smile and is eager to please. The food is good (but the burgers were just OK). No house brews, but they carry many local choices. Avoid the back room if you want to hear your friends.
google avatar

Staci L.

Yelp
Good beer, nice ambience, a little greasy.. would eat here again. I would like to try the pizza next time.
google avatar

Yelp
The food is wonderful. Especially, the pizza. Something about the sauce and the tasty crust. They have a pretty good Reuben, too. Between the six of us, we uncovered a few great finds. Sandwiches, calzones, burgers and of course the awesome pizza. You'll also find an extensive list of beers- 44 in all. There's a nice variety of red and white wine, even an impressive Pinot Noir. How about a beer sampler? Nitro, king, single, ace, steep, Ipa, engine, pine, drop, red, apple. Wow! The room is like so many in the great 49th, a rustic, old barroom feel to it. They have a terrific patio with a huge stage for live music...right outside the back door. Unfortunately, the band wasn't very good, but that's not entirely the Alehouse's fault. All three of our visits featured the best service. Friendly people that deliver food quickly, visit the table often and keep the glasses full. The prices aren't too out of line, especially for Alaska. We think it's worth it and try to stop here when we can! 07/23

Yelp
If you are visiting Palmer, this is your stop. The staff is very friendly and very welcoming. They have a variety in their menu but my go to is the Greek Salad. The restaurant can hold a lot of people but if you go past 5:30 PM you can expect a wait. If you are visiting in the summer, I highly encourage you to stop by their Friday concerts every Friday night after the Palmer Friday Fling as you will have fun. Grab a beer and enjoy the outdoors with dancing and listening and having fun.

Yelp
People come here for the beers! I found an oatmeal stout from founders that I really liked. I should have got a burger but having one recently I opted for the BLT and I knew that it probly was one of their "miss" items and I was right. They used thick sourdough bread which didn't pair well. Otherwise it was a very typical BLT. And I didn't know their fries were bomb so I got a Caesar salad. Literally Costco croutons, bare minimum Costco shredded parm and long pieces of romaine. We also shared the nachos which were pretty good. Next time it's a burger with fries for me. We came Saturday night, group of 4, about 4:45ish and we must have waited only 5 minutes for a table.

Mandy K.

Yelp
Absolutely 1000% the best restaurant in Wasilla and Palmer... Tied with Cadillac Café!!! Came back to get the exact same order we got the first time around because it was so good. Can't recommend it enough if you don't know what to get these two items and you'll be golden!!

P N.

Yelp
I'm so very disappointed! Foods good, not generous portions but decent tasting but they have lost my family's respect and future business because of how absolutely arrogant and rude the staff is! I'm never warmly greeted when I come in. I stepped in and said I'd like to place a to go order and she said oh you're here to pick up a to go order and I said no I'd like to place a to go order and she informed me at 6:13 that they stopped taking to go orders at six! I have been sitting in my car in the parking lot trying to decide what I wanted to eat for about 13 minutes and nowhere on their site did it say anything about not being able to pick up after 6 PM and I had driven from Wasilla just for their burger. I've had nothing but bad help,.. they have no idea what good services is they and if they want to prioritize their concert night while turning away perfectly good paying customers they're idiots that's all I can say!!They don't value the people that support them and I'm done forever and maybe this is my Hangry talking but I drove straight to three Bears and picked up a frozen pizza and swore I'd never go back. Rude staff!
google avatar

Kyli W.

Yelp
We got the Palmer special pizza and cheese fries. Both were really good! The pizza was the best - the fries were generally really greasy but hey that's what makes bar food right? Our server was great and selected some great beers to try - the cryo and blueberry ale were the favorites. We also visited the next day and got the jalapeño popper pizza which was out of this world good!
google avatar

Justin F.

Yelp
I agree with Andrew, the food is OK, maybe some dishes are better then others but overall I'd say it's good. In general I go with the pizza, burgers or other sandwiches. However, their salads are really good and Large as well. The number #1 reason I come here is for the environment, both inside and outside, it's relaxing and fun with friends and family. Staff is always extremely helpful and good service. But my real secret is the fantastic large selection of local beers and my absolute favorite hazy IPA on the menu No Woman No Cory! Great fun environment inside as well with guitars and other decor! All of these categories considered, it is hands-down, the best restaurant to go to in Palmer!
google avatar

Karl A.

Yelp
Cool interior, great food! I love how well this repurposed building works as a restaurant. The service was great and we were seated fast. I tried the jalapeño popper pizza, the combination sounded to good to not try. It was delicious, I do wish the peppers were precooked, they came out a little crunchy for my tastes. The cheeses were great and the crust was cooked well. Well worth the visit!

Yelp
Stopped by Palmer Alehouse on 7/6 for a late lunch- I had the plain pizza and a 49th State Blonde Ale. My husband had a Sheriff's burger with Black and Blue Fries And Girdwood Brewing Galactic Tornado beer. I also had the Blueberry lemonade and root beer soda. Everything was delicious- the portions were more than adequate-(we did not eat dinner that night). I live in NJ- the home of amazing pizza- and my pizza was so good. I would highly recommend Palmer Alehouse

Yelp
Palmer Alehouse has been my "go to" place for quite sometime. Today my Wife and I walked in at 2:00 P.M. and walked through people sitting in the entryway and checked in to get a seat, there was plenty of open tables throughout the place. The young lady asked how many and I told her two, she said it would be 15-20 minute wait and asked if that was ok? I told her no and we left for my other favorite place where we walked in and sat right down, the waitress there even remembered what beers we drink! Palmer Alehouse had better get on the stick or they will be losing a lot of business. Also, the Alehouse menu has shrank considerably. Sorry to see the place struggling.

Ryersen C.

Yelp
Great service the best pizza I've ever had great root beer amazing channels on the tv

Brenton P.

Yelp
Last time I went here, the fries were bad and the pizza was so cheesy I literally almost and die. Like come on the fries used to be the best in the valley.

Kyle G.

Yelp
Seriously amazing food, we have ordered from every part of their menu and have never had a bad dish! You will never be disappointed eating here, plus they are pro community so bonus!
google avatar

Shalil J.

Yelp
We came here after a hike with hungry stomachs. It was crowded but we didn't have to wait too long for a table. Upon sitting down, we did have to wait about 10 to 15 minutes to order. It allowed me to look over the tavern, which featured many sit down tables as well as a bar you could sit at with multiple TVs dotting the interior. We finally ordered drinks and food, and one of my friend's drinks was forgotten about. We had to ask the waiter 3 times for it, which was mildly annoying. Another incident, one of the other waiters just took away another of our drinks for a refill but never came back with it, prompting us to have to again ask our waiter for it. The food itself was only ok. I ordered the meat lover pizza, and my friends ordered burgers. The food came out at an average time but as I said, it wasn't anything to write home about. Still, the friendly staff and bumbling atmosphere were enjoyable.
google avatar

Amanda K.

Yelp
Loved this place! Our server was amazing! They were very busy due to a concert outside but he did an excellent job keeping us informed that food would be slower. The host quoted us a reasonable amount of time and we were seated in that time. Good beer and food selection and everything was great!
google avatar

Stacy A.

Yelp
Came on a Sunday and it was busy. Waited about 30 minutes for a two person table. Not a big deal unless you're hungry and don't mind waiting outside. There's hardly any room to wait inside. Had a mimosa but I didn't see it on the menu and just asked if they had any. I got the gyro which was pretty good. A lot of onion. Lamb was juicy. I feel like it could have used some lettuce. Sweet potato fries were so delicious. Probably the best I've had here in Palmer. It's pretty noisy inside.
google avatar

Tony R.

Yelp
For a Sunday evening, this place was hopping. Indoor and outdoor seating are available, but be sure to ask if there is a wait time. A wide variety of beers on tap as well as an array of cocktails. The menu also had a full range of burgers, salads, and pizza. We ordered a classic burger that came on a croissant. Fries are freshly cut and well cooked. Classic sliders were also quite tasty. Bartender "Boomer" kept us laughing as we joked back and forth. Outdoors children played corn hole and life size connect four. There were also many televisions broadcasting all kinds of sports. This is a bustling eatery with a stage for live entertainment. Watch for live events if interested or just come by for lunch. You will happy you did. Sorry, I forgot to take pictures.

Yelp
Just left from visiting the Palmer City Ale House at around 8-8:30 tonight 5/15. It was busy but we were seated right away and our orders were promptly taken. We got one Outlaw Burger and one Ale House Classic Burger. I wanted to try the fish and ships as it was Halibut, for 29.99 I got talked out of it but I wish I would have tried the Halibut tacos. I highly recommend this place. Everyone was friendly too. 2 burgers and a soda ran us around $40ish.
google avatar

Tiffany L.

Yelp
Amazing pizza and bear. The Palmer special was large and so flavorful. Glacier brew house ale complimented it well. Wait staff were very attentive.
google avatar

Jeremy H.

Yelp
Super sloooowwwww service. The food took well over 90 minutes to come out. It tasted good, but at that point, it was just too long.
google avatar

Randi M.

Yelp
A go to spot for dinner for my family and I. Great events during the warmer months as well.
google avatar

Julie C.

Yelp
Delicious food and friendly service. The ambiance is chill - and music on Thursday nights.

Jonah C.

Yelp
Ordered a half meat lovers and half Palmer special pizza. The meat lovers was great, the crust was crispy, you could really get that stone fire taste. The Palmer special was delightful. And the service was fast, it seemed like right after I was done ordering the pizza was already ready.

Kyla B.

Yelp
Just all around amazing! We had the beefy grilled cheese and the chicken bacon ranch salad! They have 44 beers on tap. Mainly local Alaska beers!
google avatar

Alia G.

Yelp
Solid Eats! Swung into here for a late lunch. I think it was about 1:30 or 1:45pm. This place was still hopping. Thankfully, our driver called ahead and got us a table so we didn't really have to wait to be seated once we got there. Mom and I shared the Thai chicken salad and the Prime Rib tacos. Both were fantastic. The salad was big... and loaded with chicken. The dressing was not overpowering and it wasn't drenched all over the salad. The lettuce was fresh and crunchy! The tacos were big! Not little street tacos. Big tacos. And the prime rib was melt in your mouth delicious! I'd definitely recommend stopping here for meal if you happen to be in the Palmer area.

Yelp
I visited my friends in Anchorage last month, one of which works in Palmer, and he said this is the best place to stop at for food/drinks in the town. I can't say that I disagree, on both the food and beer aspects. There were many craft beers available, of all varieties, and a lot of Alaskan breweries you likely won't find in the lower 48. For food I got the ahi tuna tacos, very good, maybe a little pricey but oh well. It's also got a lot of indoor and outdoor space, as well as bar seating and plenty of TVs so it'd be ideal for sports viewing. Depending on when you go it can get packed. Thankfully we got there early on a Sunday and got seated right away, but it was definitely filling up by the time we left. It's not far from the reindeer farm, so can be an ideal place to stop at if you're doing that, which is what we did.
