Had the opportunity to visit the Palmetto-Pine Country Club in Cape Coral. One of the cool things about being a musicians mom is getting the chance to see different venues in the area. This time, it was for my daughter filling in with the 22nd St Band. The country club hosted their annual Xmas party. The Palmetto-Pine went all out with their decorations. The guests enjoyed the music and had fun.

Played a couple rounds as a guest and it was clear how much time and attention had been put into the course over the last couple years. Beautiful course in great condition with very fast greens!

Went as a paid rider with my husband. Clubhouse restaurant was not open, so I couldn't sit in AC and charge my phone during his second nine holes. Cart and bar staff were friendly.

Terrible, terrible course. Staff was very rude. The rangers were the most rude, harassing and almost hitting one in the group as they drove by. I noticed they just stopped and sat on the course, blocking pathways, which made it more narrow than it already is. The fee is way above the normal range for this type of course. It is not worth it in our opinion and we won’t be back. We were hoping for better and ended up with one of the worst experiences. Save your money and definitely go elsewhere. The good thing was the weather was excellent- other than that’s - it’s a BIG thumbs down. Can’t believe this course is still open.

Google
Nice course, we had a fun round, greens and fairways were really good, really no rough at all though. I realize they spent a lot of time and money renovating the course and they did a great job and made the most with what they have but this isn't a $150 course. Rates are too high even for being in season.

Google
You can do better elsewhere for a lot less money and better experience. Over priced all year round. Greens are bad, weeds and holes even though they’re new. Bunkers are bad hit liners again even though they are new. Collars around the green ate worse. Range balls aren’t included but more than half in your bucket are worn out or cracked. Can they not afford to replace range balls on a yearly basis? That’s golf course experience 101. I’ve played this course for more than 10yrs and can't say the new owners have actually made it better. Avoid at all costs not fun and expensive to not have fun.

Google
Zero stars if we could. The lady working in the store at this golf course was EXTREMELY rude. Immediately after walking in to pay the lady asked us what we needed and before we could answer said “you need a lot, the sam’s club isn’t going to cut it” …. mind you the guys are wearing over $100 shirts, however they did not have a collar. Without any issues they bought new shirts because obviously they are fine with complying to the dress code, we just didn’t know right away. The lady’s comment was completely unnecessary and i’m unsure what sam’s club would have to do with anything…. Rude and stuck up people at this place.

Google
Palmetto Pine CC was welcoming and a solid course overall! Reasonably priced, open course with not much out of bounds. I enjoyed playing here and would like to return later in the spring or fall and get a full grown course experience.

Yelp
Scam alert !!!!!!!!! advertise that it is 18 holes. Nowhere in or on website does it say it is for 9 holes. My son paid his hard earned money via the "deal rate" through GolfNow. Pro shop didn't mention it was 9 holes and wouldn't refund him. Said GolfNow has to. GolfNow won't do a thing. Horrible way to run a business to take advantage of people especially a teenager. Better business bureau complaint coming .

Mary W.

Yelp
On a golf trip and this place Only had an option to play was 18 holes Charges same fee for 9 holes which we did not know until we arrived to play. No where on the website did it say this. Plus The front nine had dead grass and we were not informed until we got out on the course. We are from out of town and we will not play here again. Buyers remorse. Beware.

Candace O.

Yelp
Conditions on the front nine were very poor. I would not play here again until all repairs are complete. Yet they still wanted top dollar even though the course was in repair. Shame on them.

Troy H.

Yelp
PP is a great Florida public course. The ownership has invested a-lot of money over the past couple of years. Condition has been great every time I have played. I would like to see GPS added at this price. They have been working their tails off since Ian came through. I always look forward to playing here The staff is always friendly.

Debbie E.

Yelp
An okay course with friendly staff. More directional signage to the holes would be nice, as would a gps system. The fairways are cut short. We played the front nine, which has one par five and lots of bunkers.

Isel H.

Yelp
Best Golf course in town, I just loved it. Staff is amazing and the food is really good. Defiantly I will come back.

Yelp
Palmetto-Pine Country Club Restaurant, SW 9th Ct., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is some chatter and my 2 cents on the food. First chatter... My first observation is that there was no ID of where the restaurant was. 2nd they allowed anyone to park and take up more than one space in the handicapped area. When I enter I was greeted warmly and enthusiastically. It was very nicely decorated. The lunch menu was very limited to just wraps, salad and a burger or so. I was able to get a cherry coke made. Thank you. I got the house burger, medium rare, with cole slaw that is made with apricots of all things. I do like cooks to experiment with traditional items, in this case it fails. It was not very sweet nor very salty. Just blaahhh. I saw some apricot but just pass. Plus on the recommendation of my server I got the potato soup. It had cheese & bacon on top. It tasted like a liquid baked potato. Good and interesting. Now the burger. I tried to like it but could not.It was cooked to medium rare. It was served on those awful brioche buns. When they get wet they fall apart. Plus the grilled was not properly cleaned ( I have worked in a kitchen I know). I tasted the burnt parts from the grill not being clean with water. I also got a small raspberry mousse for dessert, delightful. But the thing that got me MOST mad was the bill. They automatically have the nerve to add a gratuity to my bill. I was not given the option of how much to give my waitress. ( note: she deserved 20%). When asked the server, she stated she has no control over this plus she waits 2 weeks to get the taxed money. This is obscene of BIG BROTHER. It is more the principle than money. For this reason alone. I will never be back.

Yelp
They have done something horrible wrong with the grass. I have been playing on SW FL courses since 2002 and have never seen any course, public or private, this rough in prime season. Last year I considered joining this course in response to the big $$ improvements they have completed cleaning out overgrown brush, new dining facilities, etc.. Really glad I didn't. Greens are burnt out; fairways and tee boxes are wrecked, driving range is a sand lot. I would avoid this course for several months, waiting for growing season and better turf management

Ric R.

Yelp
Excellent range with very nice bridgestone balls. Only drawback is looking into the sun as it faces the east. Early. Must have a collar, no collarless shirts, no matter how dressy and nice. But, a good experience overall.

G F.

Yelp
Played this course this time last year & enjoyed myself, but heard the whispers of big $$ and big improvements coming to the course/club. I revisited a week ago & I would consider a membership here. The course looks amazing and they're not even finished with all of the plans/improvements yet. The staff is polite and helpful. I would say this has to be one of the quickest improving courses in SW Florida. Before it was certainly worth the price I paid on GolfNow for a tee time. But now it's heading towards elite level.

Sue B.

Yelp
One of the moody over priced golf course in the area The fairways are cut to short and the ground is so hard it's like trying to hit off blacktop parking lot and some of the greens have patchwork repairs and the greens in general are small and the bunkers have stones mix in the sand They spent money on new signs to direct you where to drive your carts and the help looks spiffy in their matching shirts For $94 it is definitely not worth it Don't be fooled by them calling themselves a country club definitely is not on par of a country club course by any stretch of the imagination

Julio G.

Yelp
not a bad place to eat but almost nothing is cooked fresh honestly ‍ I mean maybe your pre cooked burger patty is Baked 30 + mins before ya eat it oh I forgot the hot dogs are precooked a few hours before there served lol but the philly and rueben are cooked too order ‍ decent fries . And tomatoes lol

J S.

Yelp
Best golf course in SWFL! Staff is awesome! Charlie, the pro, is very approachable and knowledgeable. The course condition is great and getting even better each day. Highly recommend PPCC! #FBG

Denny C.

Yelp
Great course ! I've played 6 different courses since I arrived from St. Louis. This is the best ! Not a lot of water hazards, a lot of Florida bunkers though. For the location and the price I'll be back !

Steven G.

Yelp
Awful course and service. We played in August of 2019. There is no grass on the fairways and most tee boxes were recently sodded and are already burned out. After being told carts were allowed and 90 degrees they changed the back nine to cart path only. In two tee areas it reeked of sewage. This course is two seasons from being mediocre. Play Cape Royal which is 15 minutes away and in great shape. And was $8 less.

Yelp
I am very disappointed after playing at Palmento Pines Country Club today with both my son's age 4 & 12. The first question when we checked in was "what are you going to do with the 4 year old?" What?!?! What kind of stuck up people are they... I know their name says Country Club, but don't you believe in the youth golf? It is their loss, I was thinking about joining the club for our family, but not now. Plus, we only played 9 holes and they charged me full price for golf and no youth rate. If you like playing golf where people's noses are in the air, this is the place for you. Coral Oaks is our place!!

Yelp
This course is in the best shape I have seen in years. A very fun track to play and a friendly staff. It is a real gem for Cape Coral.

Yelp
I enjoyed a round of golf here 2 days ago. The course was fun, pretty good condition and greens quite challenging. They were pretty fast and broke in several directions. Staff were pleasant and helpful. It was a first time visit and I joined 3 other guys for an enjoyable game. My major moan would be pace of play. It took 4.5 hours at least and we must have waited on nearly every hole. The carts were good- I hadn't experienced a cart with GPS so it was a novelty for me. I usually like to walk but "when in Rome"....But back in the UK it's not usually this hot either!

Kneecole B.

Yelp
Beautiful course. Well manicured. Several sand bunkers and water holes. Played 330pm, minimal stoppage

Kevin A.

Yelp
Played it Thursday Feb 6. It was in really great shape. I read reviews about how they had been making improvements and took a chance. Glad we did. Would definitely go back.

Yelp
Palmetto-Pine Country Club is a private, membership only golf course with a variety of membership packages. I always played as a guest of my father-in-law who was a founding member of the club. The golf course has plenty of challenge and wildlife--one hole had nesting osprey and really strange looking squirrels. Unlike many public golf courses, Palmetto Pines has no homes on the edges of the course. The clubhouse was recently improved and the food is always really good with a Sunday brunch and many event meals. Most of the meals come as a package with the membership. The staff is always friendly and really helpful. Bathrooms are available at the clubhouse and they also have separate lockers for the men and women members. The Pro Shop is helpful about scheduling tee times and have selections of golf gear and clothing available for purchase. The course can be quite busy at times.

Yelp
Good layout nice fast greens fair prices and great internet specials people are friendly and sccomonding

Yelp
Played Palmetto-Pine on August 10, 2019. Greens were in good shape but fairways need a ton of work. Tee boxes were sodded but burnt out. Our foursome was told upon check in that the cart path restriction was lifted but would be 90 degrees. We paid the rate with this understanding. Played the front nine with two non par 3 holes cart path only and then arrived on number 10 to see a sign indicating cart path only. Went to the clubhouse to ask for a refund of the back nine but were refused. Will never play this course again. Excellent course just a few minutes away from this one. Your money is not well spent here. Stay away!

Sky R.

Yelp
Enjoy playing the course, nice layout, former private CC / close to home; one of the few courses in Cape Coral. Driving range needs some TLC. You need a collared shirt for the range; must be a rule when they were private.

Steve J.

Yelp
Nice course. Well maintained. Enjoyed playing here. Real value for the money. Greens putted nice. Got behind 8 slowest golfers in Florida so pace wAs slow.

Yelp
My husband and I golfed today with some friends of ours. The course is nice and we had a great time. We went in to the bar afterwards and had some lunch. The bartender was great and really friendly. We enjoyed her company. What we did not like was when we witnessed the manager Mrs. Karlen (the only reason I know her name is because we asked) talk down to one of the severs. No one was sitting in the grill room when she went over to one of the tables and pulled out a chair and yelled across the room to the sever and said come clean these tables and wipe them all down. Honestly, we were embarrassed for the girl ourselves. There was absolutely nothing wrong with any of the tables. And it is a disgrace that she would talk to someone like that. Then I was going to the bathroom and I heard her say to another sever go show that girl how to sweep outside! Are u kidding me? Is that how you treat your employees!?? Mind you, We were just outside and there was nothing to even sweep up. We felt bad for the employees. No one deserves to be talked down to like that. That lady acts like she is better then the others and that is not right. She clearly is not a good manager because when our food was put in, my friends food and my husbands food came out first. Then 5 minutes later my friends husbands food came out and I'm still waiting on mine. Then another 10 minutes goes by before I get mine. By the time I got my food everyone else was done. Which shouldn't have happened. All the food should have came out together. Clearly she can't manage her kitchen staff correctly. While the food was good, it was ridiculous how long it took. Again, not the bartenders fault at all. She was great and put it in all together. Was not her fault. Very friendly and on top of it. However, A one and done for us there due to management.

Yelp
Played the course Monday 1/25/2016. I Paid $80.00. The course was in terrible shape. The grass on the tee boxes and fairways was sparse , the bunkers were all hard pan and had not been raked. There are a lot nicer courses in the area you can play in the $80.00 price range. Don't waist you time or money. I will never return!
