Palo Alto

One of the best markets out there! The food was delicious: tasty aperol spritzes, densely packed onigiris, cakes, pies, cookies, brownies, cinnamon buns! The clothes were super cute too, with live music to boot! Lush greenery all around to sit and enjoy your treats. A must go in Barcelona!

It’s a lovely market with lots of food trucks, art and music. In the old industrial quarter Poblenou. We bought tickets in advance for the night frame (5pm-10pm) on a Saturday and we were lucky we did. Once we got there tickets were sold out already. Lots of food options hearty style or desserts.

I went to Palo Alto market fest. There was a great choice of food/drink stands, artisans (jewellery, second hand, clothes, etc). The atmosphere is very chill and you dispose of a lot of standing and seating space. It is perfect to enjoy an afternoon of local shopping. However I paid 5.5 euros the entrance and I don’t understand this price as I am lead to buy food/drinks and eventually clothes on site. Those clothes and food types are findable in Barcelona as they have physical shops. Hence, idk why I should pay for something I can find outside of this market. This is new to me. For this price entrance I would not come back and rather go the the different physical shops but I had an overall good experience.

So sad. It started as a cool event to support the locals, bringing a nice crowd together who enjoy art, design, music, good food.. from “caravan made” burgers to pre-cooked burgers we had today. If you go, let me know what you think.

A great idea for reusing an old factory space, and he plants are lush and attractive. But on a busy Sunday afternoon there was barely space to walk, seats all full and standing next to the rubbich bins to eat food is not ideal. The childrens' play area was geared to 7 plus ages and the little one got bored. The loos overlook the music venue. But al in all a fun place to go to. If one thing could change easily I guess it would be to double the toilet size and put other changing room areas somewhere else in that vast hall. Oh yes and a seating area in the hall too.

Nice space for a mini festival. Lots of good food options but very limited design stands. Was expecting a bit more variety on things like ceramics or furniture, the majority were clothes. Ambient was fantastic and everyone was well behaved.

Palo Market fest every first weekend of the month is so fun! It is not big and not a lot of seating area but there are yummy food stands, creative market shops and music! Buy your ticket in advance because they tend do sell out.

We visited the weekend food market. The times on the tickets (for us 12:00–17:00) are a hard cutoff. You will be thrown out rather harshly without any warning. It completely destroys the cozy vibes. On the other hand, it is a very nice place with excellent food and cozy spots to drink, eat, and chat. A cool variety of local vendors (companies), vintage clothing, art, and more. The sudden kick-out while we were just ordering was sad, and we couldn’t pick up some items we wanted to buy and had told the vendors we’d get later so we wouldn’t need to carry them around. Luckily, we didn’t pay in advance. A disappointing experience.

We were lucky enough for our trip to Barcelona to coincide with the first weekend of the month when the Palo Alto Market takes place. We heeded the warning and purchased our tickets online and bypassed those that were in line to purchase theirs. This place was magical even in the rain. The food truck offerings were incredible, offering tons of variety of delicious noms at reasonable prices. Eating our way through the market we shared an incredible pastry, coffee, an empanada, and paella. We obviously didn't leave hungry. When the rain was heavier, we ducked into the various buildings set up with local vendors and designers. It looked like Etsy threw up! Shoes, clothing, leather goods for starters. The vendors were friendly and met us halfway with our mangled Spanish. There are various bars set up around the market. We grabbed some Vermut and ducked in to catch some live music. Don't let people scare you away. It's totally worth cost of admission!

This first weekend of the month staple of Barcelona is well deserving of its popularity. A mixture of food trucks, flea market and music, the atmosphere is friendly and easy-going. We've even taken our dog a few times. Many complain about the €3 entry fee and the long line (sometimes over an hour) to get in. But the fee and the line ensures that inside, it does not become overly crowded and there is not crazy long lines for the food trucks (although the lines can get long, they are not too bad). Personally, I would much rather pay to get in and have a relaxing time inside, than not-pay and spend most of the time waiting in line to get food and drinks. Only advice would be ensure you get there on the early side, or well after the lunch rush. The line to get in can get too long during lunch time.

Cute outdoor, hip market with lots of food trucks/stalls and local designers. Worth checking out for a while. Only downside is 4 euro entrance fee, but since there seems to be some music and drinks are available, you could make an afternoon of it.
