"PALOMA Artist Courtyard came alive in 2004, when a group of young artists persuaded the V. District Municipality to support the establishment of a new cultural project in the abandoned bottom floors of the derelict building. Part of the agreement was the reconstruction of the dangerously rusty central staircase which is now regarded as the main ornament of the house. The house has its own story certainly; it was built in 1894 by János Wagner, who was the founder of a prestigious architectural dynasty. The building, renowned for its eclectic style and impressive interior archways, was originally destined to serve as a town house for the architect’s extended family. János Wagner celebrated the 50th anniversary of his architectural career in the year the building was completed." - Stylewalker

Visited here today and bought a bag and two postcards. The shops offers an great selection of handcrafted products made by local Hungarian artists. It’s by far the best place in the city for souvenirs and unique items. They have a wide selection of products including ceramics, bags, jewelry, clothing and soaps. The artists are very friendly and speak excellent English. Highly recommended!

A wonderful space with a handful of independent makers. It tends to be geared towards womenswear like jewellery and accessories but there’s a leather studio and also some homeware like ceramics and art prints. I do wish there was a cafe so I could linger a little longer.

Cool space, with the right vibe and idea. However, there are too few stores and mostly ladies wear and little Knick knacks . Was hoping to see vibrant local designers concept stores but was unfortunately a little disappointed.

It’s worth peeking into the hidden gateway next to the confectionery, as a charming inner courtyard with a special, Italian-style atmosphere awaits you. In the tiny shops, you'll find works by local artisans, including truly unique and special creations. But that's not all: in each shop, you’ll be greeted by the artists themselves, who are happy to talk about their craft and share behind-the-scenes stories. Don’t hesitate to strike up a conversation with them!

A very lovely and inviting shop. They have a great variety of leather goods you can get custom made. My favourites were the passport holders and leather belts which feel premium and are very reasonably priced. The staff are very polite.
