I used to frequent this restaurant back when it was an Irish bar called Dillon's so when I was invited to Paloma to cover their NBA All-Star Weekend party, I was super excited to see what they had done with the space. As soon as I walked in it was immediately clear that at tremendous amount of work was put into transforming what previously felt like a sports bar into an upscale lounge with gold accents on the walls and an inviting bar that welcomes you into the space. I spent a good hour and a half in this area until someone suggested that I go take some pictures at the other bar. Other bar??? That's when I walked past some cute little booths towards the back of the room to discover that there was a whole separate bar in the back with a huge dance floor and a another Dj spinning jams! It was a pleasant surprise and once I thought about it, it made sense because I had always remembered it being a pretty large space under it's former brand. I'm pretty sure it's all new ownership and from what I can tell they've done a great job hiring a fantastic staff! Even though it was pretty busy, they were super attentive and friendly and even were willing to pose for some fun pictures! I've since been back to cover some day parties there while the atmosphere is different (eg the second bar was not being used), the staff were always super welcoming and, did I mention, very easy on the eyes!!! I will definitely be back again soon, with or without my cameras! In terms of the crowd, it really varied depending on the event. The first time I went there for the All-Star party it was mainly Los Angelenos and the 'movers and shakers' & hipster crowd. During the day you'd still get some locals, but there were definitely some added tourists who came in off the boulevard. If you decide to stop by, just remember not be blink because their outdoor signage is super low key. I've included some pictures of it of course! My favorite cocktail on the menu was most definitely 'Rosemary's Baby' and they also have a decent selection of IPA's, which I love! Food wise I would highly recommend any of their tacos! I hope this helps someone out there! It's a great place to chill and hangout whenever you're in Hollywood.
