If you are tired of rice and bean for breakfast this is your place to visit. Marvelous pastries, coffee, tee served with an enchanting smile. Javier is an artist in bakery, it is a joy to see the cakes he creates. Ok, if you absolutely want you can even have traditional food too as breakfast! Rice and beans with medium egg and bacon. Guanabana juice with water (or milk if that's your thing). Great little spot Ive been coming here since my first time visiting Puerto Viejo in 2019, its now 2025 and I'm typing this review from a table in Pan Pay. Great a peach pastry too! Pura Vida!

Good food for a fare price. It isn't the cheapest place to visit in Puerto Viejo, but they serve some good good. It isn't the high season right now in Puerto Viejo, but the place was packed while we visited. The staff who served the food was really friendly. The place is located near the city center and right next to the beach.

Have to try pan pay while you’re in puerto. They are known for their bread and it’s for a good reason. Try the maracuya pastries. It’s so good. As well as the apricot pastries. Coffee and home made juices were also 10/10 and the pinto is great.

Excellent bread! Breakfast #5 (eggs, lettuce, tomato, avocado, slices of baguette) was served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar cruets -- quite tasty. Coffee is excellent. Service: one server was nice, the other rolled her eyes and acted impatient. Pay at the counter, where you may not be able resist taking home a warm roll or baguette!
