It is quite surprising to find a solid five-star hotel in a small provincial city like Kaiping. This is a vast, spacious venue with a nice river view. Room is cozy and neat. The whole place was just renovated so everything is new and tidy. Breakfast is underwhelming, though. Price is fair.

1. Check-in processFriendly and nice staff at the front-desk. Very kind and helpful.2. RestaurantsUnfortunately I didn’t get the chance to dine but perhaps next time.3. GymUnfortunately the gym is going though renovation and cannot use it during my 4 night stay. 4. LocationGreat location for shuttle bus pick up and drop off as well as taxis, but if you are looking to wander around. Unfortunately not the best location as you need a car or taxi. This has been emphasised a lot, so best to take on board this advice if you looking for convenience nearby. 5. LaundryUnfortunately, you have to pay extra per item on laundry. No self service laundry. 6. Check-out Smooth and quick. Staff was polite at check-out to wish the rest of our journey to be smooth and well. Feedback/Improvement I think the service and hospitality from front-desk and their rotation on the front door is nice and different from other hotels. Unfortunately, I haven’t encountered anyone who used English with me but it isn’t a problem. I was just curious because having bilingual staff in the location is definitely a bonus. It is something you see in bigger cities and in other hotels.Rooms are outdated in style and amenities. Nevertheless it is clean. It would be good to see rooms to be renovated and updated as newer hotels are better accommodating and utilising better services/functionalities.Heated flooring would be nice for the bathroom but none found during our stay.

The front desk staff are helpful, especially Ms CHENG. We arrived early before 1pm. She politely explained that there was a conference just ended and guests were checking out by noon. Cleaning of rooms was in progress. So we left our luggage at the Concierge and had lunch nearby. When we returned, we were upgraded to the top floor Executive rooms with a nice river view. My friends and I are happy. The hotel is a bit outdated, but rooms are spacious and clean. All the toiletries, daily offer of 2 bottles of water, etc, are sufficient. I would suggest to change 3-in-1 coffee powder to drip coffee as guests are more health conscious nowadays. Nespresso machine is also another option.Buffet breakfast has many choices, but mostly Chinese food. Local dim sum are interesting, but may not preferred by all guests. There is no chef to fry eggs or omelette, but chef cooking soup noodles with many add-ons available. My friends and I noted that many items would not be refilled, or another item would replace the previous one. The coffee machine only offered Espresso or Americano, and I would suggest using more high quality coffee beans. The red date drink tasted very good. My friend also likes the HK style milk tea. There is an outdoor swimming pool, and a gym on the G/F, but air conditioning was hardly felt. It will be better to keep the temperature of the gym at a more comfortable level. My friend tried the massage service on 5/F and enjoyed.Overall, a nice comfortable stay at Pan Tower Hotel. However, we must call a taxi to take us to all sight-seeing spots. Need to use local apps for calling taxis.

Excellent hotel. Clean rooms, professional staff, very good hygienic proto calls, very good breakfast buffet, classy decor. The rooms, elevators, and common areas were clean. Very well maintained hotel. The staff were very efficient and competent. The maids and personnel running the breakfast buffet were very vigilant regarding sanitation. My only complaints is that some of the food items on the buffet were cold / room temperature. Also, when we arrived, no one help us with our luggage -- Tourist from the U.S.A.

The hotel was perfect for a stay in Kaiping. Free parking with charging options. The room itself was spacious, comfortable and clean. The view on the river was amazing. The only point of improvement is the breakfast, which is not 5 star hotel worthy. But otherwise all was great and would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

I stayed in the hotel more than 10 years ago. The rooms are renewed and I was impressed with the room on the executive floor. The bed is much softer compared to years ago and it is very comfortable. Food at breakfast was also great with big varieties. Really worth for the money!I definitely will come back and stay at this hotel again.

While this is probably considered the best hotel in Kaiping, I wish the location is more central or located in an area with restaurants and shopping. It's kind of located on a peninsula which nothing around the hotel. It's not a place that you can just walk around. You'd need taxi to go in and out to go anywhere.||Room is decent. Carpet is dated. Beds and shower are nice.|Amenities:|- Breakfast is to our taste with many local Kaiping food. We love the daily buffet breakfast! especially the made-to-order soup noodle, and "salty chicken cage" local Kaiping dish.|- Fitness Center is probably the worst I've ever seen from my years of traveling! It is very small and the limited equipment is old and rusty. Worst part is one time I went down to try to use the gym, 2 older men were in there exercising, in their UNDERWEAR and are topless. WTH. Oh there is no AC in the fitness center, so that could be why they are topless and in their underwear. |- we didn't use the swimming pool but looks clean and has a shaded area if you preferred to stay in the shady part of the pool.|- beauty salon - permanently closed even though the hotel signs still shows operating hours.|- massage center: around 280rmb for 80mins body massage. We didn't try it though. massage room is ok only, nothing to write home about. |- wifi - took several attempts to get wifi to work in our room, but even after its working, it was super SLOW. Not a good experience.|- laundry service. super expensive to a point that you might as well just buy new clothes to wear instead of washing. Self-service laundromat is not a thing in China. Very hard to find and when you do, the machines are probably terrible.||Service was very good. Staff is eager to help and answered all of our questions.||My relatives said there are other hotels (not as big as Pan Tower) but newer and closer to restaurant/shops. We may try another hotel next time for proximity reasons. We like to be able to walk around the hotel but not many fits that criteria.

Connection of hotel is well-established. Apart from taking High Speed Rail, there is direct coach from HK to the hotel.Hotel room is spacious, sound-proofed and clean. However, we would like to make the following feedbacks and expect for improvement:(1) Water leakage of the curb at shower;(2) It was difficult to use TV remote to control the TV. Not sure if it was the battery problem or signal receiving issue(3) Vending machines at G/F lobby only accept WeChat and Alipay but not AlipayHK(4) Taste of food in western restaurant can be improved
