Valet parking was provided, and we were able to enjoy the best coffee, toast, and much more. ( The chicken soup was absolutely delicious! 💯

Google
Love this place. Fantastic bakery with so many great pastries. The quesitos here are perfect. The sandwiches are also very good. The bread always tastes very fresh, with a crispy exterior and soft interior. The coffee is good too. The prices are very fair, and the service is fast. Parking can be a hassle.

Google
Sandwiches are great, and big, but you need to have time because it takes a very long time to make. The place was super busy and our 4 sandwiches took more than 30 minutes to be ready. Coffee is just ok. Pastries are good.

Google
Best place come to grab a nice breakfast, lunch or dinner. One of my favorite places to visit when in San Juan. The staff are great, the pastries are plenty and delicious and the food was top notch. The octopus salad was delicious, tender and flavorful. The tembleque was creamy and coconutty. I highly recommend this place.

Google
The food is delicious, however, the establishment is quite crowded with limited parking and seating availability. In my opinion, it would be more convenient to visit this place using a service like Uber.

Google
Panadería España has a fantastic array of pastries. The quesitos are simply perfection, and the media noche and monte cristo sandwiches are equally delightful. What sets this bakery apart is the consistently fresh bread, boasting a crispy exterior and a soft, pillowy interior. Pair your treats with a delicious café con leche for the ultimate indulgence. Not only is the food top-notch, but the prices are also very fair, and the service is fast and friendly. Parking can be a bit of a hassle, especially during peak hours. My advice—visit early to avoid any inconvenience. Panadería España is a Five-Stars ✨!

Google
This is a place to visit, but it has some challenges. The food is amazing! Worth the trouble!!! The trouble is that the place is packed, so starting from parking and securing a table can be a challenge. I would not count for a quick grab, as it takes time to get the food. In my case, we had to get in a line to order the sandwiches, again, amazing sandwiches. Then we had to get in another line to pay for them and order some additional sweets, again, amazing sweets. It's worth it, but takes time.

Google
I came here with the family today and thoroughly enjoyed it!! All the food was amazing and the coffee was great too!!

Yelp
Great bakery and sandwich shop. Lots of choices! Chocolate cheese pasty was amazing Chorizo roll flavorful Gets very busy but the line moved fairly quickly.

Yelp
This place was amazing! As soon as you step in, you're greeted by the smell of fresh bread and pastries. The breakfast food was just as impressive. My family visited this location for an early breakfast, and it was hands down the best panadería we visited on the island. The food was delicious, and the staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. I still can't stop thinking about the quesitos and sugar donuts they were unbelievably soft, fresh, and full of flavor. The coffee was also fresh and hit the spot perfectly

Yelp
The pastelillos de guayaba here are absolutely incredible! Light and crispy filled with just the right amount of sweet guava paste, finished with a dusting of powdered sugar. I could easily eat two or three of these every day! The sandwiches, soups, and other sweets on the menu are also excellent.

Yelp
One of my stations of the cross on my way back to the airport. Always fresh sandwiches and salads. Good Gallego stews and pastry as well as criollo items. Good place to spot celebrities and politicians.
google avatar

Yelp
I always come here before or when I first arrived in Puerto Rico. I came here before I left and ordered their delicious fresh bread and a sandwich. The service is always amazing and I definitely recommend it. All the items are fresh. It is a nice friendly environment with small tables. They have foods such as paella and other dishes. My family enjoyed their items when I arrived in New York.

Yelp
Food: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Ambiance: 10/10 Honestly, if I could give this place 20 stars, I would. This was the first place where we ate when we got in from our flight and we ate here again after our travels on the island. The first time we ate there, my husband ordered a bunch of food to share. We had some fried chicken wings, tostones, empanadas, rice and beans and my son had a Cuban. All of these dishes were cooked and prepared perfectly, exhibiting so much flavor. One day, when we went to the beach, I walked over here and got more empanadas, some soup and fresh seafood salads like a ceviche. Again, no disappointments and happy taste buds were all part of the experience. I'm actually thinking about going back there this morning before our flight!

Yelp
We were meant to go to another spot but our uber driver reccomiendo d this spot. They have a huge selection of baked goods, hot foods. Soups, seafood. We came in at 7:45am and by 8am the breakfast line was HUGE! I enjoyed everything we got and would recommend this place. There is a lot of space for seating and the tables were clean as well.

Yelp
There is an array of options available. From dessert to sandwiches to Sunday dinner. I had the fresh passion fruit juice and my friend had Surullos. We are planning to go back for dessert tonight for their friendly service and busy cafeteria like setting

Pedro R.

Yelp
Food was amazing. Service was prompt and helpful. Ambiance was lively and family friendly. I had the media noche sandwich with a cappuccino, my wife had the chicken soup.

Yelp
Delicioso panadería!!! Los pasteles eran tan lindos y ricos. Compramos sándwiches y pan. Servicio era rápido y amable. This bakery was delicious!! The bread and sandwiches were delicious. Service was quick and nice. 10/10!

Yelp
Those who are in the know, know about this place. It was recommended by our friends who are from Puerto Rico. It was loud and boisterous in here. There is a seating area and it fills up fast with people who are constantly jockeying for a table. We got lucky and found a table next to the line for sandwiches. I ordered a pastrami sandwich which, when I got it, was piled high and had a magnificent cheese pull! My daughter only wanted a cinnamon roll and she had it and was a little disappointed. She said it wasn't as good as my wife's cinnamon rolls. I gotta say I'm biased as well. Right before we left, I ordered a baguette, which we ate throughout the day. It was nice and warm when we started. It lasted a while. We'll be back and I'll be hitting other sandwiches and pastries as well!
google avatar

Gnet A.

Yelp
All the food, coffee and pastries are delicious here. We ordered a little bit of everything to share with the table because we came in a group. We got cappuccinos, cheesecake, budin, tembleque, flan, almendrados, bolitas de coquito and a brownie. Everything was delicious and they definitely have a lot more on the menus. There is another part that offers PR food like rice, sandwiches and more. They had live music and even had a couple do a quick little dance. Staff were friendly and informative. They offered suggestions and they were a delight to interact with. When in PR I will always visit this place.

Yelp
Cappuccino? Maybe. Chaos? Definitely. Popped into this absolute hive of activity, seems to be the go-to spot for locals and law enforcement, which is always a good sign. My "cappuccino" was tasty, though served in a paper cup with whipped cream, so let's just call it a solid, cheerful coffee. No complaints here. The flan was the real star: smooth, rich, and perfect. The Bizcochoto, however, was a bit on the drier side of life. As we pondered this, the lights briefly cut out. Just another Tuesday in Puerto Rico, adding to the authentic, unfiltered charm of the place. la flan! I'll be back for that, and maybe to see if the power stays on. A genuine local experience.
google avatar

Olivia D.

Yelp
Friendly staff, a lively atmosphere, and a steady flow of customers make this spot feel like a community favorite. The flan was enjoyable, but the real standout for me was the cappuccino--perfectly bold and balanced. Even though one of my choices wasn't quite what I expected, the overall experience was warm and welcoming. You can tell people come here not just for the food, but for the sense of nostalgia and connection. Definitely a place worth returning to and exploring more of the menu.
google avatar

Mariana B.

Yelp
Why this place has so many good reviews? Cheese flan? It tasted artificial vanilla. Croqueta? It tasted fried dough! I couldn't eat the whole sandwich, they added a lot of bad quality ham, and cheese that did not tasted cheese, bread was not crispy. The only thing I had that was good, was the coffee, that it! Other thing, staff do not want to be there, they treat you like: "what are you doing here?". Horrible.

Yelp
Let's put it this way - I've been to San Juan twice and I've been to this bakery 4 times. One of my favorite cuisines is Spanish food so I am a sucker for a place like this. They have many different offerings from hot meals, sandwiches to baked goods. They also have an incredible variety of pastries. My favorite are the cheese guava pastelitos. I even brought some home to share! This place is very busy but you do get your food pretty quickly. There are different lines for the pastries and the hot foods so it's well organized. It's cafeteria style and open seating so even when it's full, a group will most likely wrap up at some point which will open up a table for you to snag. I cannot recommend this wonderful place enough!
google avatar

Marisol C.

Yelp
This place surprised me it had such a great variety of foods, sandwiches made to order, seafood salad. Alcoholic drinks, coffee and a Hugh selection of pastries. There is a parking at the back of the building. Everyone was super friendly. Great prices. There is takeout of seating for eating inside. Relaxed atmosphere.
google avatar

Philip Z.

Yelp
Busy all day long. I mean PACKED. Extremely difficult to park. Kind of like an old automat or cafeteria, order your food, find a seat and they bring it to you. They call it a 'Panderia,' which is Spanish for bakery, but this is not like any bakery I have ever seen. Meats and cheeses and sandwiches and bottles of wine and liquor all available. Food is pretty good, if you don't mind the hustle and bustle..
google avatar

Alec T.

Yelp
Packed and fast paced but that's not a bad thing. The food here was INCREDIBLE. So many options that it was hard to choose, definitely easy to over eat here. One side is all pastries and desserts, and the other side is hot plates and sandwiches. The Cubano was mouth watering, the tres leches was *chefs kiss*. If you want a taste of the culture, both through the cuisine and the people, come try this spot out.

Yelp
Sandwiches and the coffee was very good thank you I am not sure of the name but it was fantastic!!!!! The bread!!!!!! It was a breakfast sandwich with egg sweet ham and cheese. And my mom had the same but with turkey. It was busy, there is parking but is very busy and they have a free valet that moves cars in front around to get people in and out. Its a bakery with 3 counters serving breakfast and lunch, pastries and breads and spirits.
google avatar

Yelp
i got the chicken noodle soup in grande size because i wanted it in the tapas tray haha. also got a pastrami sandwich and some guava cheese empanada. everything was out of this world flavorful the service is non existent you just go wait on line and speak with the cashier who then gives you a ticket with a number they calll out. the coffee is phenomenal and i wish i took some back with me. the ambiance is a large cafeteria style suitable for friends and families. it's top tier food and affordable too! 9/10 A+
google avatar

Zbird K.

Yelp
This place is massively busy and well known in PR for classic Puerto Rican and Spanish cuisine in a casual setting. Came for breakfast and ordered a ham egg and cheese sandwich, which was massive. Odd to say but there was too much ham, to the point where the deli meat was cold even though the rest of the sandwich was toasted. Still I am intrigued by all the non-breakfast food and will try to return for lunch or dinner.

Yelp
I had a hard time connecting with Panaderia, in part because there was a language issue and because I couldn't figure out how to order food like some of the pictures of meals that I was seeing in the Yelp pics. Here's what I know for sure. There is a bakery area with flan, pastries, cookies and dessert. There is an area where you order sandwiches with a visible sandwich menu. And there seemed to be other, more meal type foods available, but I didn't feel like there was a clear indication of what those foods were or how you ordered them. At one point, somebody asked the chef to come out because we were having issues communicating and the chef was more conversant in English (I don't speak Spanish). The chef was very kind and he named a number of things that he could make for us. I appreciated that, but I also wondered why there wasn't a menu available. I was fine, but it was a difficult experience to navigate with my 12 year old son, who is not a sandwich person. In any event, I ordered a Bistec sandwich after seeing somebody else eating one. It was good, but actually looked even better. I had a bite of a guava pastry, which was also good. People who seemed to understand all of the moving parts better seemed to enjoy themselves better. 3.5 Stars
google avatar

Ashley T.

Yelp
Very good! So much more than a bakery! I was disappointed with my order but only because I didn't know what to order. I ordered a tostada and it was a grilled cheese sandwich. The guava and cream cheese pastries were amazing. The flan was absolutely perfect. If you are a carb lover, this place is for you!

Carlos Kian H.

Yelp
Great place, very good food, fairly priced and the ambiance is very pleasant. The service is excellent and the employees are very welcoming and friendly. Overall a great experience

Yelp
Panadería España is basically the pastry version of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory! They sell almost every dessert imaginable, from cheesecakes, to cookies, to traditional Puerto Rican treats like "mallorcas" (sweet buns with powdered sugar). My family and I must have spent 20 minutes deciding what we wanted to order! I finally decided on a brownie with rainbow sprinkles, which was a little dry, but the frosting balanced it out. The sprinkles weren't just good for decoration, they also added a nice little crunch. I also picked up a Mallorca for breakfast tomorrow! Everyone working behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. Panadería España is truly a dream come true for anyone with a sweet tooth!
google avatar

Jaime S.

Yelp
Amazing selection of baked desserts and fresh food ready like cafeteria style, so no waiting! Walked out with 15 Cubano sandwiches for a large group that just landed in the Isla at their rental.
google avatar

Elizabeth C.

Yelp
Big disappointment! We always come here when on vacation and today was the worse. Our oatmeal was watered down and tasted burnt, coffee was weak and full of milk and our sandwich was cold. I hope this is a bad a day and not what people can expect moving forward.
google avatar

jeremiah r.

Yelp
I think this place is overhyped. Having gone to more than a few panaderias especially in my familys home towns of Coamo and Ponce, the bread here is average. The chaos you have to endure to order and the unfriendly service aren't rewarded with exceptional items. Probably great for tourists that have no other context but i didnt think the sandwiches, pastries or bread were anything more than average. Every bollo of pan (loaf of bread) I have gotten from every other panaderia has always been warm, but here was cold. Is in a convenient location though. Seating is also a challenge.
google avatar

Yelp
Very busy and very delicious got the Cuban sandwich and the ham egg and cheese sandwich, my friend is from Puerto Rico and told me to try the pan sobao very soft delicious bread and some jam on it 10/10, also tried two pastry's one guava and one pineapple also very fresh and delicious, my mom is Spanish her mother is from Spain 10/10 recommend.
google avatar

Mina P.

Yelp
I had a great sandwich from here! I ordered the Cuban with extra veggies (lettuce, tomato, onions) added for $1. The sandwich was huge! I couldn't finish it in one sitting, it could definitely be shared it with someone. The service is quick and efficient, and there was a live trumpeter playing here! Added a great vibe. I thought there were many locals eating here. I want to come back to try some of their pastries next!
google avatar

Yelp
Came here while visiting PR. I was looking for rellano de papas and found some at this bakery. Highly recommend. Definitely very busy but overall the food was really delicious and I staff was friendly. I'll be coming back again next time I'm in San Juan :)

Yelp
When everyone from the resort staff to the Uber drivers, and even the locals couldn't stop talking about this bakery, I knew I had to taste what all the hype was about. First of all, the Bistec sandwich at Panaderia España Reposteria is an absolute must-try! The steak is tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. Every bite is a perfect balance of seasoned meat, fresh bread, and just the right amount of toppings. It's the kind of sandwich that makes you want to savor every single mouthful. Delicious! Next up, the Choripán. This sandwich is a flavor bomb! The chorizo is smoky and spicy, with just the right amount of kick, and it's paired beautifully with the crusty bread. The seasoning is spot-on, and the taste is out of this world. If you're a fan of bold flavors, this one's for you. Superb! The Cubano is another winner. The layers of ham, roast pork, pickles, and mustard all come together in perfect harmony. The bread is pressed just right, giving it that crispy, golden exterior, while the inside stays soft and warm. It's a classic for a reason, and Panaderia España Reposteria nails it. Amazing! Now, let's talk about the desserts. The Key Lime Pie is heavenly. The tartness of the lime is balanced perfectly with the sweetness of the creamy filling, all nestled in a buttery graham cracker crust. It's the kind of dessert that makes you close your eyes and just enjoy the moment. The Besito Coco is another treat not to be missed--sweet, coconutty, and melt-in-your-mouth good. It's a little bite of paradise. And for coffee? It's rich, smooth, and exactly what you need to complement all these incredible sandwiches. The flavor is deep and satisfying, with just the right amount of bitterness. It's the perfect pick-me-up! I'm so caught up in enjoying this food that I'm having a hard time finishing this review and hoping Yelp doesn't time out and lose my draft before I have a chance to eat and type. If you're in Puerto Rico, you need to make your way to Panaderia España Reposteria to verify for yourself as for me I'm diving back in for another taste of heaven. Big shout out to the team at Panaderia España Reposteria. The food is absolutely, phenomenal. Hype verified! Everything I've heard about this bakery checks out!

Christopher A.

Yelp
Don't go here if you don't speak Spanish . There disrespectful and give bad service if your not "Borinqueña" . I was born in the States but my family is from Carolina Puerto Rico and my Spanish is not that great and they'll make fun of you for it and laugh because your "Gringo"

Ruth B.

Yelp
Really disappointed the pulpo was not good at all and they charged me $45.00 for one pizza empanada, one papa tellena y pastellito de queso. Not coming back.
google avatar

Ricardo H.

Yelp
Just go and thank me later. They have everything you can imagine. Even seafood. Great flavors
google avatar

Diana G.

Yelp
The pastries with custard were definitely the best followed by chocolate filled. The guava cheesecake was just okay. Cookie was dryyy. It's really the only bakery that's conveniently located but PR doesn't have any Mexican style baked goods. Not that I found at least.
google avatar

Lizzy N.

Yelp
My fam and l always stop by when we're on the island. Great coffee, delicious food, and a chill vibe. Service is efficient and the coffee is yum!!! They also serve wine and Cocktails!!!

Shenique B.

Yelp
While at the beach, met a lady who said she grew up in Isla Verde. Asked her for some food recommendations and she said, "K.....a is good, but España is better." She was telling the truth!!! We tried several items (and wish we had time to go back again). Everything was delicious!!! The breads taste so fresh and soft. The sugar donuts are perfect! The guava turnover/tart was nice and flaky and had the perfect sweetness. The combo paella was my "least favorite" choice ONLY bc it was mostly rice with a few pieces of meat and seafood on top (none mixed throughout) and the shrimp qas overcooked but it was seasoned very well!! The media noche was better than the one at the 'other popular spot'. I had never eaten habichuelas that were chickpeas but I liked it and enjoy the little meat (pork?) pieces. The customer service was excellent and there was plenty of indoor seating. I spoke a little Spanish, many of the employees spoke varying levels of English and our order came out perfect. I knew this was a winner when we walked in and there were a lot of locals. That's always a good sign! When I come back to PR, I will be coming here first!!
google avatar

Amanda S.

Yelp
Now THIS is a panaderia!!! The coffee in here was perfection and the pastries were on point. Fresh and delicious. Great service too. Highly recommend!!!
google avatar

James C.

Yelp
This place is amazing. So many different food options. Parking is crazy but once you get in there it's a great place.

Yelp

Yelp
Always a go-to spot when in San Juan. The baked goods are awesome (quesitos with guava!) but the food is good as well. Very good caldo gallego and Cuban sandwiches. And really good coffee too.
google avatar

Rena R.

Yelp
As soon as I walked in this place I loved it! I don't know if it was the hustle and bustle, the displays of sweets (like diners in the US northeast) or the feeling like this was a local spot. All of it gave me this warm and cozy feeling inside. It was like a Puerto Rican Panera Bread, but better. The service was quick and friendly - some spoke English but it's better if you know a little Spanish. And the food was yummy! I've ordered sandwiches (a Cuban, turkey and cheese, ham and cheese, and bacon, egg and cheese), soup (ham, bean and sausage, chicken) and a few desserts (brownies, carrot cake). I enjoyed everything, but my favorite was the Cuban sandwich. When I'm in PR I visit this place at least once.

Robert S.

Yelp
Excellent pastry's and soups and sandwiches.Great for dinner or lunch. Difficult to park though.
google avatar

Enna J.

Yelp
They have 2 separate menu counters. One for pastries and coffee and the other for breakfast and lunch. Friendly service. They have plenty of seating; however it stayed pretty busy and packed. Limited parking in the front and back of the restaurant.
google avatar

Ann L.

Yelp
My first time here and went back a few times for some caldo gallego (make sure it's hot) and garlic bread. I had the cuban sandwich and it just needed some garlic mojito to take it over the top. Flan de queso, strawberry cheesecake, and quesito de guayaba y queso are all really good. They have fresh seafood salads, an array of desserts to choose from. I would definitely return.

Karen W.

Yelp
Food good. Service good. Ambience good. I would come back a million times. This is a visit for all.
