Pancake Place

The place reminds me of cafes in Mexico City, at least this very urban location does so. For me that's a plus, because it makes me think of lazy meals while on vacation. The service was very good, the food temperature was perfect, prices are very reasonable. If I had to nit-pick it would be the sweetness of the red sauce on the bandera enchiladas. I will be back to try other menu items.

I loved the place. The omelettes are delicious. They provide you with an option of pancakes; toast; or English muffins with your omelette. I chose the buttermilk pancakes. The coffee tastes great and the staff is diligent about refilling your cup. The orange juice was very tasty and came with pulp. Definitely a place to enjoy breakfast or brunch with your friends and family. I approve!

I found this place in our last visit to Tijuana. Read the reviews, gave it an opportunity, and I'm glad I did. Great breakfast spot with delicious offerings, good portions, and fair pricing. I got chilaquiles with their house sauce and a couple of sunny side up eggs, along with a seasonal pancake (cinnamon) and a strawberry, melon and papaya juice. Delicious and definitely recommended.

We had breakfast two days in this place. The staff? Amazing, very attentive and friendly. They all are aware of what you may need and offer refills and or help. The food. So very good. The plate of fruit had the most amazing and sweet papaya and Pinaple I ever tasted. The crepes has nothing to envy those ones made in Montreal. The omelettes are the highlight for me! The best I tried was the Mexican with queso and refried bean sauce! It was light and so elevated. They need to take care his their Chef cause someone might snatch him 😁

It's just okay. If you're coming to Mexico to visit Mexico, I wouldn't come here. Very whitewashed and catering to those who dont really want an in depth mexican experience and just want more of an IHOP feel. Food was pretty good, but nothing special. Service was good also. Valet parking was nice since parking can be a bit questionable. No charge for valet, but tipping is always nice.

went here with my boyfriend for breakfast and our server was very friendly and helpful. the crepe was my favorite thing but everything we got was delicious. it was super busy but our food came fast and the service didn’t suffer. highly recommend!

My wife and I were in the area for the day and searched a good place for some breakfast. We decided to try the Pancake Place out. As we approached the entrance, we were immediately greeted by the hostess who opened the door for us. It was about 930ish in the morning and there wasn't a lot of customers inside. As we were seated, the ambiance felt up-scale, yet modern. We ended up ordering the New Steak & Eggs (ribeye), Club Sandwhich, and the Platano y Fresa (crepes). Staff were very attentive and welcoming. Once the food arrived, everything looked amazing. The steak and eggs plate included my choice of scrambled eggs, verde chilequiles, refried beans, and tortillas. The serving sizes were well proportioned. Except for the scrambled eggs. It appeared only one egg was scrambled and was very basic. However, everything else on the plate was amazing. The ribeye steak arrived separately on a hot skillet and cooked medium-well. The steak was very tender and flavorful. I didn't get a chance to try my wife's sandwhich but it looked pretty good. She also ordered the crepes, but I think I ate more of it than she did. The crepes with the fruit toppings were very refreshing. Everything cost just under $50 dollars. Overall, a great first experience eating here. Would definitely return to try other food items if we're in the area.

The food was awesome. Wife got the chilaquiles with steak. My son ordered the Big Slam breakfast and I got the stuffed French Toast. Everything was so delicious. My son ordered an orange juice with his breakfast.

This restaurant is busy! Be prepared for a long wait to be seated, a long wait for your food, and a long wait for your check. Other than that, the food was good and the service was great. The place was noisy because it was packed with large parties. It won't be my first choice for breakfast in the future.

The service here is attentive and professional, its family run and very sweet atmosphere. The ambiance is quaint, it's nice to enjoy breakfast in a place that feels like a family's home. The food is always good. Can be a bit pricey because everything is a la carte and over $4, but it is worth it. They serve fresh squeezed orange juice which is rare at a restaurant these days so that's a win. It's nice to take family from out of town. It's also nice to come on your own, read a book, or simply enjoy your own company having breakfast or brunch.

Like most Mexican restaurants, the service is excellent. You are welcomed with smile and you are very well taken care of. This place is very busy which is a good indication and they are known for their pancakes but I am going to have a vegetable soup which is a chicken broth base. I am also enjoying a ribeye steak. The steak was cooked perfectly, and it came with rice beans and avocado. I'm very happy.

I can not believe the valet guy from here !!!!! I been coming here for a few months now. Today after I left here I realized my bag and lap top were missing. Only person who had access to my vehicle was the valet guy. I am so so so disappointed in this!!!!! I have supported this business only to be robbed of my belongings!! please if you eat here do not leave any valuables in your car or even let the valet guy park your car unless you want your valuables to go missing or possibly even your car parts !!!! it's so sad it be your own people. I even tipped him. the food and service are amazing but after this never again !!!!

Inexpensive brunch spot with familiar favorites. Serve brunch til late and in a nice central spot, would highly recommend!

Hands down my favorite place to go to wen I go to Tijuana every-time I go I have to stop here and eat every morning. I have been here so many times and the food is always great always always and delicious and fresh.

Probably not the best pancakes I have had. I guess I expected more. The service was great. Friendly and helpful. I had the steak and eggs as well. The steak was good. The chilaquiles were delicious. Coffee and shake were tasty. I would go back and try something different.

We waited about 25 min to get our order in the table next to us got there after we did and took there order first and they got the food first also and it was a family of 5 and we where just two I had a great experience the first time but this second time I regret it and wouldn't come back no more

Had my hopes up but unfortunately I was let down. Received my food and it was cold & the quality of waffles was bad. I asked for eggs and a side of bacon but was cooked all together. Service was great can't complain about that.

Amazing place for breakfast! A must go to when in TJ. Very close by to alot of places and you cant go wrong. Our server Luis was amazing! Greeting us with a smile and got us seated very quickly! We did not know Spanish but he was very accommodating to let us know what was on the menu! Probably best customer service we have received since we have got here. He does a phenomenal job and brought out our food exactly in 10 minutes as he mentioned!

Everytime we are in town it's a must that we have breakfast here at least once. The food is always served promptly and is delicious. The customer service is up to par. Remember that the whole world is short staffed at the moment so please be kind to those who decided to show up. We can't wait for our next trip to come back.

The menu is online and translates easily to English. The food was SPECTACULAR and the service was wonderful. All of the staff was helpful and patient. I 10/10 recommend the citrus syrup. All of the produce was extremely fresh and it hit the spot so well for us on our second to last morning in Mexico!

Teniamos ganas de comer unos deliciosos pancakes y encontramos este lugar. Que desilusion! Los pancakes estaban secos, masudos y sin sabor. No se porque me lluevaron mateqiilla porque no se derretilla en los pancakes. Los huevos, jamon y tocino estaba mejorcito. El servicio estaba bien. Necesitan cambiar algo en su receta de pancakes. Por lo probto no volveremos.

No wait time, everything was very clean, they have valet parking at no charge. The service was amazing! We had different servers heckling in us and offering coffee constantly. But what took the cake was the prices, we spend $40 for 5 people and the quality of food was amazing! I will no longer go to IHOP as I found my new breakfast spot! Highly recommended.

Juice was a bit to sweet but it isn't a bad review because of the juices sweetness ! The part that is bad is the wait time ! Not only did I wait 20 mins to be seated but I waited 50 min to get my food ! I ordered New York steak and come crepes my eggs where cold , chilaquiles cold with a slight spice and cold steak. The only thing hot was my crepes ! Paid 700 pesos and just walked away my side orders never came and I wasn't going to wait an additional 30 mins for toasted bread and pancakes! The side of cheese cost 30 pesos and it was a size of a salsa cup ! If it wasn't because and pregnant and hungry I would of walked away ! Will definitely not recomend this place there is no excuse for the lack of attention and service we received let alone our server dismissing my husband request

Huge tasty oatmeal pancakes. Great staff, accommodated our English and broken Spanish. Followed COVID 19 protocols. Clean. Parking is a bit of a pain, walk if you can.

Pancakes,Flapjacks, or even Hotcakes are what people like to call the "dessert breakfast." It was a cold and rainy day in Baja California (AKA Tijuana) and I was in dire need for a great comfort breakfast. So I heard about Pancake Place and drove there. The staff was very kind and attentive and they helped me with any questions I might have had. And the ambiance itself was so urban yet comfortable. The food was delicious. I was going to get their crepes, but they were famous for their pancakes hence the name. It didn't take long for them to bring in my order which was their fruit pancakes. The fruit on top were some melon,cantaloupe(I think),pineapple,and bananas. The pancakes were yummy and delicious, but the portions were huge and unfortunately I was only able to eat 1/3 of the pancakes. The best part was..it is so cheap. You honestly get a big bang for your buck. Anyway, I really recommend coming here when ever you are down here in Mexico.

Ordered the chilaquiles verde, pancakes and a waffle! I only ordered the 1/2 order of chilaquiles, but as you can see it's still a ton of food! That also applies to the pancakes, at first I thought it was 5 pancakes stacked on top, but after I looked at it from the side, I realized that it's just 3 THICK, but delicious pancakes!! For the price, you can't beat the size and taste of this place, honestly I didn't even end up finishing most of the food, but I wish I could have!

I had high hopes for this establishment, however, they have horrible customer service. They're too busy and don't have enough staff to keep up with the customers. Food looks delicious but honestly the taste is ehh. Serval items we order were missing and it wasn't like we were able to tell someone because they never came to check on us to make sure our order was correct or pleasant. Staff always running around no time to ask for anything

Found this gem while searching for a breakfast spot to celebrate my dad's birthday. I was immediately impressed by the aesthetics of the restaurant. It's so modern and cute! It's very clean, and its decor is great. Their menu offers a ton of options, from traditional American breakfast options, to crepes, to Mexican breakfast plates. They also have an amazing variety of drinks. I ordered a green juice that the waiter recommended, and it was delicious. The food was great, and the waiter gave us amazing service. We only paid $23 for three people. Will definitely be back when I visit Tijuana again!

This place was really delicious! My cousin brought me here because he lives near by and I'm so glad he did. They're super helpful with helping you find parking, the even offer to wash your car!! The server was always checking up on us and the food had an unbeatable price! Will come back everytime I come to Tijuana!

Very slow service. Waited only 5 minute's to seat us. 15 till take our order. 12 minutes till we received drinks. 25 more for food. Hot is restaurant since air conditioning not working. Food plain in taste, avocado on omlet not ripe. No point coming back.

They get 5 stars just for the sanitation procedures that they used! After stepping on a sterilizing mat, you are met at the door to have your temperature taken and provided a pump of hand sanitizer. The servers all had masks and face shields. Social distancing was definitely in force. Wish every restaurant in the US would follow these procedures. Now, for the food. Food was good. Ordered the grand slam with blueberry pancakes and no whipped cream. When the order was delivered, there was whipped cream on the side of the plate. Before the food was placed on the table, the waitress noticed the whipped cream and immediately grabbed the plate to rectify the situation. I appreciated her attention to detail. Since the cream was on the side I had no issues. I assured her all was well and gladly accepted as delivered. Eggs were ordered over medium but came out on the over easy side. Over medium eggs are tough to get exactly right. The meats (bacon, sausage and ham) were on all on the tepid side. I feel that they had been previously cooked and were left warming. Blueberry pancakes stole the show! Perfectly cooked and swarming with blueberries and blueberry syrup. I guess that's what I should have expected at the Pancake Place.

Food was great! They also have a very nice variety of food options if people can't all decide what they would like to eat. The staff was very friendly and nice!

We were looking for a good place to have breakfast here in Tijuana- and found it. The staff is friendly, everyone from the valet to the servers. They were attentive and prompt. The food is delicious and fresh. I had the NY steak and eggs with green chilaquiles- my wife had their crepes. We also tried their buttermilk pancakes. Everything we had was great. Prices are reasonable, too. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming.

I'm happy this is my 300th review because this really was a great place and no doubt I will be back! I've been traveling down to Tijuana, Rosarito, and Ensenada quite a bit lately and somewhat overwhelmed by all the great restaurants. It's been quite the gastronomic experience... all except for breakfast. I've had breakfast all over Baja California, Mexico from nice hotels to trendy restaurants to locals only places and had come to the conclusion there is no good breakfast in Mexico. My friend who lives in Mexico even said to me one day breakfast just isn't their thing. I really believed that until I had breakfast at the Pancake Place! No surprise we found it on Yelp. We were driving around searching for something that might catch our eye but found this place on Yelp and we were pretty close by so we decided to give it a try. It's a block or two off the main road so as your driving you might question where you are actually going. Seems to be a business area and we almost missed the restaurant. From the outside it looked nice but we weren't even sure if it was open. But there were two hostesses standing out front so clearly it was open and we decided to give it a try. The parking is a bit challenging but there is a guy who will show you were you can park and not get in any trouble and parking is free. As we walked up we could see there were quite a few people inside. The hostesses outside made it look like a place I would find up in San Diego. They were quite friendly and there was no wait so we were seated inside as well. The inside has a modern/contemporary feel to it. It wasn't too loud and they were playing music videos from the 80's on the wall mounted TV's. After we were seated someone took our drink orders and gave us the menus. The menus were in English/Spanish and pretty extensive with a large selection of omelettes and egg dishes as well as countless pancakes and waffles. They also serve lunch so plenty of sandwiches and burgers. But I was here for breakfast! They have a "grand slam" on their menu but I was in the mood for something a little more spicier and had the huevos rancheros and my friend had the eggs benedict. All the breakfast meals come with a pancake or waffle so we ordered one of each. I ordered fresh orange juice and this was the first time in all the times I've been in Mexico that I've actually gotten fresh juice! I've ordered juice at the Marriott and it was an orange drink they pour from a box! But this was the real deal, fresh squeezed orange juice! Our food came and looked so delicious. I was excited but was afraid of a big let down when I take the first bite.... I was pleasantly surprised! Almost every time I've had eggs in Mexico they are completely under cooked and so flavorless. But not here... they were cooked to perfection. And of course, served with the hottest, freshest tortillas you'll ever have. My friend said her eggs benedict were also exceptional. The meal in of itself was more than enough... but there was the side of pancakes they serve. And these are not "dollar" pancakes. They fill the entire plate! I am not a pancake person at all and never have been, but couldn't resist the temptation to try them. They were so fluffy looking with a big scoop of fresh whipped butter atop that was melting. I dressed it up with some syrup, took a bite and WOW! Again, not a pancake lover... but I could be with their pancakes!!! The restaurant is clean, the staff are very friendly and attentive and the food is amazing! If your down in Tijuana and looking for a great breakfast place, you won't ever go wrong with the Pancake Place! And this comes after trying more than a dozen places for breakfast in Mexico. Oh, and of course, the price is more than reasonable. I look forward to going back again.

My Husband and I love this place we have been regulars since 2014 the food is delicious the prices are great and the staff is always friendly and try to get to you as fast as they possibly can on busy weekends we love the valet parking people as they always are super nice and attentive as well. We love their Omelettes, Eggs Benedict, club chicken sandwich and there chilaquiles, and for dessert some puffy crepés or blinzets. And also a good location.

The food here is incredibly bland. It's cheap so you can't expect much. It's okay if you're drunk I suppose.

It was nice. There was one guy spoke with us in English but that was good enough. They were super clean and neat. I love it. The staffs were nice and foods were fresh.

Orange juice was great. Omelette was tasty. The only downside was that the pancakes were a bit dry but everything else was great :)

I ordered a omelette and it was suppose to have jack cheese, bacon and avocado. The bacon was dark and hard I had 3 small slices of avocado and barely any cheese!! The pancakes were super thick and tasted like corn bread same consistency gross! My husband ordered the chipotle omelette and that had no flavor!!! Go elsewhere!!!

Amazing place. First time here and all the food we ordered was excellent. Pancake, waffles, huevos a la mexicana and New York steak with eggs. Orange juice and chocolate shake. Waitress was so nice. Since we arrived, people treated us so gentle. They have the restaurant very clean. I recommend the place 100%.

This place is so good. The coffee isn't great, because they don't have cafe de olla. The food never disappoints. The arrachera and machaca are worth it! The service is always amazing too. You do have to valet your car so have some tip money.
