Very close to CSMT. Bang opp to the bus stop in the busy lane of fort Mumbai there is this lovely little vegetarian restaurant and as the name suggests famous for its Puries. Don't miss if you are around that area. Always a wait time as huge rush specially during lunch hours one will find a big Que here. Small tables hences are always shared. Good people and excellent service even in this busy place. No AC but worth all the efforts as food here is excellent hot and fresh always. Try aamras Puri superb in taste. Their Pancham thali was also good but a bit too big and difficult for one to finish. People are good and always cheerful. No parking. Try once and you will love the place.

Located within walking distance from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, this hidden gem in a bustling market area offers an unforgettable culinary experience. The place is almost always packed, and while it’s not known for comfort or attentive service, what it lacks in ambiance, it more than makes up for in taste. The food is incredibly fresh and full of flavor. Their poories are delightfully crunchy, paired perfectly with a well-spiced, home-style aloo sabji that tastes just like something out of a traditional kitchen. A true highlight, especially during mango season, is their seasonal aamras—rich, smooth, and absolutely mouth-watering. It’s the kind of meal that hits the soul. If you’re looking for authentic, freshly made local fare and are okay with a no-frills setting, this place is definitely worth a visit. Just be prepared for a bit of a crowd—it’s popular for all the right reasons.

Pancham Puriwala is the oldest eatery in Mumbai, opened in the year 1848. I had visited this place on firday night for dinner and had to wait for around 40-45 minutes. The seating can accomodate only 40-45 people in one time and given its popularity—especially during the summer months when their special aam ras menu is featured—such wait times are common during lunch and dinner hours. The crowd comprised families, friends, and solo diners. I had ordere aam ras puri, Masala Puribhaji, there aam ras felt a bit syntetic and the puris were fried in the ghee because of which it was heavy on stomach however the masala puribhaji was fantastic I got 2 sabzi , one was potato and the second I could not identify the ingredients, but the taste was good and flavourful I got 4 stuffed puri with it which were also good. Their menu has various items listed on it also 4-5 types of different puris and drinks one can try. Honestly I had a very little hope with this restaurant because of it hype and legacy but I believe it lives upto its name. Overall a must try restuarant for me will definately be visiting again.

One of the oldest eating joints in town EST. 1848. More than 177yrs old. If you are in this part of the city this is a must try for those who love their veggies with deep fried crispy puris. They have a good choice of vegetable bhajis as well as lunch thalis. Their chaas is also really nice and not wattery like you get at other places. This place is non AC and tables are generally shared. Note that if you come during lunch time there can be a long queue and a wait for about 15-20mins. Parking is not available here so best to visit by public transport or park at a pay and park that is a 5 min walk from here.

We enjoyed a Royal Thali, which included a variety of puris, 6-7 curries, rice, and papad. We also had namkeen chaaj and sweet lassi. Everything met our expectations in terms of both quality and quantity. Please note that there may be a waiting time, and you will need to wait outside in a queue, as the seating area is small and there is no parking available. Parking is allowed on the road at the owner's risk. Additionally, the establishment does not have air conditioning, so the dining experience may vary depending on the weather conditions.

Pancham Puriwala is an iconic vegetarian restaurant located near CST station in Mumbai, known for its variety of puris and budget-friendly thali. This spot is highly recommended if you want authentic North Indian fare at very low prices.Key insights for users:Food Quality & Variety: They specialize in puri-based meals—expect soft puris served with sabjis like chole, aloo, paneer, kadhi, and more. Their signature offering is the Pancham Thali, which includes multiple puris (such as masala, beetroot, and besan puris) with assorted sabjis, raita, dessert, papad, and buttermilk. While the puris are generally praised, other accompaniments range from flavorful to average depending on the dish. The masala puri and thali are crowd favorite. Pricing: The restaurant is extremely budget-friendly. A full thali costs under ₹150 and single plates start at about ₹60, making it accessible for students, travelers, and office-goers looking for a filling meal without spending much

Had lunch at Pancham Putiwala and enjoyed the taste. It’s just an 8–10 min walk from CST station. The menu and seating are limited, and there’s no AC section as far as I saw. During peak times like lunch, you might have to wait 20–25 mins in line 😬. No parking space available. The sweet lassi at the end was a treat!

Great to relive nostalgia, but at the cost of waiting in a line. Good for a one off experience, but nothing out of the ordinary, just many types of puris(pretty much taste the same) Aamras & lassi were great
