Panda House Chiangmai

We stayed here twice, drawn by the great location, friendly atmosphere, and the best mattress we’ve experienced in all of Thailand! Both times, we took a fan room and were actually given the same room. During our first visit, the toilet seat was a bit sticky and broken, but when we returned almost a month later, we noticed it had been replaced with a new one. Unfortunately, the hot water didn’t work on either visit, which limited us to short, cold, and refreshing showers during the daytime. It would be great if this could be fixed, but we didn’t complain since our stays were only three nights each time, and the price was very low. However, during our second stay (and oddly not the first), we were bitten by bedbugs. Again, we didn’t complain but noted it. Despite this, the staff was friendly—always smiling and welcoming every time we entered. The place also has a charming balcony at the entrance, perfect for chilling and smoking, with plenty of seating and cozy carpets. It’s always lively with great people hanging out. Overall, despite the minor issues, we’d still happily return and recommend the place to others. If possible, I’d suggest booking the AC rooms—they seem to be better, and the upgrade is only an extra 100 baht.

Really old and worn down room - but matching the super cheap price. No bugs or anything, so fine.

Rooms are kinda old but they have pretty much everything you need. Even CRT TV! That was awesome. Rooms dont have table if you want to work but you can use the tables in a hall or outside area which is a bonus. Nice staff and the location is very good. I spent 2 weeks here would definitely come back again.

Clean and large room. Beautiful common area in the gardens. Drinking water, coffee, tea and toast available, which was very nice. The staff is very friendly. Location outside of old city walls, but we enjoyed the neighborhood for its cafes and dining.

Had a delightful 5-night stay at Panda House in January. The experience was wonderful from the beginning. Despite a challenging 10-hour bus ride with no sleep, the lady at the counter allowed us to check in 5 hours early to a twin room. Later, she insisted on upgrading us to a double room for the remainder of our stay. She was kind enough to provide water on multiple occasions and assisted us in booking two excursions, offering valuable information about the area. The room was spacious, tidy, and the air conditioning worked well. It was a close walk to the old town which was very handy too. Overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable trip.

Okay, you would not stay here on your honeymoon as it is basic ...BUT 1) it's cheap 2) it's convenient 3) the staff are lovely Does what it says on the tin. We loved it.

We booked a room with double bed. We got two separate beds. No discount for that. The hotel furniture is really old, could be older than my grandmother. One of the worst hotels we stayed in Thailand. Bathroom wasn't cleaned. The "shower" was just next to the toilet. It was just a shower head. The only good part was the location.

I can tell that the place is surprisingly cheap. But use booking or agoda, it becomes even cheaper ;) Rooms are beautiful and spacious. Very clean bed, white bedsheets. Good AC, good Wi-Fi signal. Located just few minutes away from the center. No fridge available for guests(
