Pangas Beach Club

This is a fabulous restaurant on the north end of town, tables are set up on the beach with beautiful views. We arrived before they were actually open for dinner, without reservations and they were so accommodating. Seated us in the sofa lounge area and served cocktails - a very strong “bartenders margarita” ! Once their tables were set up we were invited to be seated for dinner- we enjoyed the fresh and delicious grilled Mahi Mahi with tropical salsa … amazing! Definitely recommend this restaurant!!

Great experience! The setting was stunning with the view of the river and ocean. Very well maintained and clean environment. Very attentive waiters and service was great. Food quality and presentation on point. Price on a higher side but it is Tamarindo anyway. Perfect choice for a special occasion.

This restaurant is nice, with plenty of tables and a prime spot for watching the sunset—if you’re lucky. My wife ordered the gazpacho and the surf and turf, which included steak and lobster. Everything was top-notch. The surf and turf comes with a '500° volcano rock' to cook your steak on after they sear it. It’s kind of cool and definitely gimmicky, but personally, if I go to a restaurant, I don’t want to cook my own steak—that’s just me. The service was solid, and the food was exceptional. A great spot for a date night in Tamarindo."

The perfect setting for a sunset dinner. Everything was wonderful. It was my wife's birthday and they gave us the best table (and a surprise birthday dessert complete with candle). Our server Andrés was amazing and made us feel special. The food was fresh and delicious, too!

A very nice place with a good number of flaws, as far as food and service is concerned. The appetizers we got, the lomito carpaccio and the shrimp cocktail, were tasty and satisfying. Portions were generous, although I admit that I was a bit surprised at paying $30 for a 6-shrimp cocktail. The shrimp was good. We ordered the crispy grilled salmon and the surf and turf (lomito and lobster). The salmon we got was full of pin bones. My wife could not finish her salmon. To their credit, they removed it from our bill. The surf and turf was a mixed bag. The lobster was well seasoned but rubbery and overcooked. The lomito was delicious, though the meat you actually cook yourself on a hot rock they provide. A bit gimmicky but it allowed me to enjoy the meat. We tried to get the chocolate cake, as we’ve heard great things, but they had ran out. Lastly, while the servers were themselves quite polite and friendly, they were largely inattentive and it took a long while to get any attention to the issues we had with our food. Even when we wanted to get the dessert menu, it took 15 minutes between asking for it and getting it verbally listed to us. That’s not too great. Overall, a nice restaurant with flaws. Pricey, and maybe worth it when they are at the top of their game.

Wowza! Yum! Beautiful setting next to the beach. Private, treed with lights and foliage. The service was excellent and everyone at our table enjoyed their food! We had a lot of appetizers to share and all of them were delicious! We didn’t have room for dessert but still shared some anyway!

We were recommended by our hotel to go to Pangas for a special sunset dinner for my wife's birthday. The location and view were excellent, but I'm not sure what they do if it rains. We also had monkeys climbing around the large trees in the dining area which was pretty neat. The food was very good but also very expensive for CR. We also had a lot of problems trying to make a reservation. Our hotel tried numerous times to call the phone number for us but nobody picked up and/or the line disconnected. I emailed them twice at their link off their web site and didn't get a reply until the day of the dinner. At that point I had already stopped by the restaurant and made the reservation in person. We had to take the earliest time they were open as that was all they had available to catch the sunset, and when we arrived they quickly sat us down and definitely served us as fast as they could to clear us out to get more parties in after us. I had also notified them that this was for my wife's birthday but they did nothing to recognize this. This was a bit disappointing as we felt pretty rushed to get finished. That's the only reason I'm scoring the service a 3 of 5. The actual waiter was very proficient. They were just a bit too rushed for such a fancy place.
