Pangkor Laut Resort

This is a 5 star plus resort. The island is magical. The rooms are spectacular. If you’re looking for modern decor like the previous unhappier reviewer then it’s like going to Michel Roux Jr’s restaurant and expecting sushi and burgers. We stayed in a Spa Villa which was stunning. The staff are an absolute pleasure to be around. Each display their own individuality but loyal and adherent to the ethos of the hard working and passionate GM, Ivy who goes above and beyond to make sure the guests are happy. On some days, we didn’t get a sun bed but there was always seating around the pool available. Food is high quality but I’d have liked the option of room service and maybe a pizza 😂 one night! I’d definitely return. It’s a great island with even better staff and facilities. I could go on and on. World class spa, saw Hollywood royalty here too. Honestly I’d be shocked if anyone was disappointed if they knew they were coming to an Asian retreat. Don’t come expecting an ultra modern hotel because it isn’t. It’s a luxurious, Asian, immaculately clean resort which has the highest level of service.

She made the booking process for our team of 9 pax (5 rooms) very smooth and convenient. Truly appreciate her professionalism and support. A very special thank you to the Ground Service Team led by Mr. Segar. The service we received was extremely warm, personalised and prestigious — truly living up to the iconic reputation of Pangkor Laut Resort. We enjoyed the wide array of delicious breakfast options at Feast Village, a beautiful and relaxing lunch by the beach at Chapman’s Bar, and a memorable dinner with flavourful Chinese cuisine at Uncle Lim’s Kitchen. Every meal gave us a delightful dining experience. The natural beauty of Pangkor Laut Island, combined with the exceptional hospitality from Mr. Segar and his team, along with the various facilities provided, made our experience truly valuable and unforgettable. Our meeting room at The Snug was also very comfortable, with free flow coffee and tea prepared for us — such a thoughtful touch. We highly recommend this resort, especially for couples, as the Sea Villa area offers a romantic and breathtaking atmosphere. Overall, we are very thankful to the entire hotel team — especially Ms. Yee Sin, Mr. Segar, and all staff — for the top-notch service and memorable stay. We look forward to returning again soon! 🙏🌴✨

Our stay at Pangkor Laut Resort was amazing. The service was outstanding, warm, professional, and attentive throughout our stay. The resort is beautifully maintained and surrounded by stunning natural scenery.||The room was spacious, clean and comfortable with breathtaking views. Emerald Bay is simply beautiful and feels private and exclusive beach. The food quality across the restaurants was excellent.||A perfect place to unwind and disconnect. Highly recommended for couples or anyone seeking a peaceful luxury getaway. We would definitely return.

From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by the warmth and attentiveness of the staff. Every single person I interacted with went out of their way to make me feel welcome, comfortable, and truly cared for. Their hospitality made the experience unforgettable. The grounds are absolutely peaceful and serene, lush greenery, calming sea views, and the kind of quiet that instantly melts stress away. Wildlife is everywhere, which adds so much magic to the stay. If you’re in the beach villas, you might even get a personal bat wake-up call (a quirky memory I’ll never forget, and one I’ll always smile about!). As a vegan traveler, I was especially impressed with how accommodating the resort was with my diet. The kitchen staff made sure I always had delicious, satisfying options without any stress, something that can be rare in luxury travel. The rooms themselves are stunning: spacious, beautifully designed, and perfect for both relaxing and soaking in the natural surroundings. Every single moment I spent here was joyful, refreshing, and memorable. Pangkor Resort isn’t just a place to stay, it’s an experience that nourishes your soul. I can’t recommend it highly enough...definitely a great place for a solo getaway.

Peaceful laid back resort. Service was excellent. The beaches were clean. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast has great options. The food was great in all the restaurants we tried. We will be back again. A special thanks to Ms Vigneswari at reception who went above and beyond to accommodate our needs.

Stayed for 2N, but access to the room ended on first night. Stranded outside the room and became a buffet to mosquitoes late night while awaiting service staff to bring a new set of cards. Room was situated in a quite and quaint corner of the resort. However, we would expect a briefing of activities things to do on the resort during the check in process. This isn't some big city where we can replace with other activities. This resort is the island. Ended up with just lazing by the sun beds. Service recovery was somewhat there on the 2nd morning with buggy present without needing to call for one. Massage was great as well, totally enjoyed. No comments for the food. Edible, but if you're here to feast, I think the mainland would be better. Gym could be better maintained

My fiancée and I visited Pangkor Laut Resort in February 2025, and from the moment we arrived, we were completely captivated. The island was basically a private paradise—lush, peaceful, and beautifully designed. We fell in love with everything such as the warm hospitality, the stunning villas (we stayed in the sea villa), the thoughtful décor, and the way every corner of the resort seemed to blend naturally with the surrounding rainforest and sea. We went leading up to Christmas and the festive decoration were also a great touch.||We loved it so much that when we returned to Malaysia later in the year (my wife is Malaysian), we decided to bring my immediate family with us. We were excited to share the experience—but even then, Pangkor Laut managed to exceed our already-high expectations. My family was absolutely blown away. My brother who is always moaning for once didn’t have nothing to moan about 😂||A special shout-out is absolutely deserved for several staff members who elevated our stay:||Segar (Director of Staff Liaison) – Brilliant. He checked in on us and my family constantly, making sure that if we needed anything at all, he was right there to accommodate. His warmth and attentiveness truly stood out.||Poolside Team – THT and Michael – Two incredibly polite, hard-working lads. They were always on the move, making sure guests were happy and well looked after. Their energy and dedication didn’t go unnoticed.||Nadem and Husan – We met them at the breakfast buffet and in the evening restaurants, and we immediately clicked. Both are genuinely kind, friendly, and always ready to help with a smile. They made every meal feel personal and welcoming.||The staff, combined with world-class facilities, beautiful scenery, immaculate landscaping, and a serene atmosphere, made both of our visits unforgettable. Pangkor Laut Resort isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a place that stays with you. I recently stayed at Pangkor Laut Resort host by Paul & Shark, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The resort is beautifully located, offering peaceful surroundings and stunning views. The property is well-maintained with a mix of modern comfort and natural beauty. Rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, with all the necessary amenities. The housekeeping staff ensured everything was spotless. The on-site restaurant served delicious meals with a good variety of local and international cuisines. Breakfast buffet was excellent, with plenty of choices. The staff was incredibly polite, attentive, and always willing to help. Their hospitality made the stay extra special. From the pool and sports to recreational activities, everything was well-organized. The resort also offered guided tours and fun activities, making it perfect for both relaxation and adventure. A wonderful getaway with great hospitality, delicious food, and a relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommended for families, couples, and solo travelers.

4 stars just due to the slow internet speed. Not sure if that is fair, as that was a minor detail. The rest of our days here was great. Friendly staff. Excellent views. Do get the resident package. Well worth the extra $$. You will spend more for food if you don't.

Paradise Island! The island itself is absolutely fabulous. With rainforest, beaches and wildlife. We stayed in a Garden Villa with fantastic ocean view. This was one of the cheaper villas, however the best one for my taste. Perfectly located between pool, restaurants and reception area. Garden villas are also spacious (71 m2) with a huge bathroom, fridge, comfortable bed and a TV. During the stay we were provided with a 4G mini router. Housekeeping twice a day. Our stay on PLR lasted 5 nights, which was perfect. There are only a few restaurants at the island. Uncle Lim's Kitchen had good Chinese food and The Fisherman's Cove had fabulous fresh seafood. The Feast Village dinner buffet on the other hand was not a luxury resort worthy. It was almost out of food and even though we asked nicely if they could refill, it never happened. My tip - stay away! However in the morning, they serve a fantastic breakfast there. The Straits serve a pre set 5 course menu, so we didn't go there. I like to choose my own food. The Royal Beach Club serves pretty good (but unhealthy) food like pizza, noodles, fried rice etc. Fortunately I had brought my own granola and rice milk. The lunch place at Emerald Beach was horrible. Do not eat there! Finally there was a lunch place at the Spa Village, which had overpriced salads. Many guests bring their own food, drinks and snacks from the mainland. There are no real shops, except from a few gift shops. During our stay we went jungle tracking, played tennis, went to the gym, did yoga and Tai Chi. This place is absolutely worth visiting, however, they need more good food options.

Beautiful location on a private island. However service is less than ideal and has the feel of a package holiday property as opposed to a luxury resort it is marketed as. Gym equipment is old and appears to be from the turn of the millennium. Resort does not offer room service. Rooms do not have wifi or television.

The service here is hit or (extreme) miss. Some of the people are super sweet, while some are extremely unprofessional and even outwardly rude. The villas are beautiful but this place is limited by the culture of rules, restrictions, and expenses, which are unnecessarily strict and infringe upon the luxury and relaxation the resort advertises. The island is really cool with lots of fish and birds and boar, but due to the service and how obscenely over priced it is, I would never return to PLR.

The resort is fantastic! The service is really good as the staff are very polite and friendly, but the only downside is that the room service menu is limited and when we ordered dinner, instead of a la carte, we were forced to accept a buffet dinner instead as they were very busy and packed with people. The pool and beach is really good though, it's beautiful and peaceful and they provide everything you need such as towels, food and drinks and so on.
