Finally had the chance to visit Pangloss Cellars after years of missing out on it and I can easily describe it with one word, superb.
While open to the public, based on the popularity of this tasting room, I'd advise setting up a reservation. A tasting for two was pretty simple though, but we setup a reservation anyway. Finding the tasting room and parking is pretty straight forward, but beware of parking limits during the week on the Sonoma square. Fast forward to the arrival, very straight forward check in and reserved seating at the bar. A nice touch being a welcome card with our name and greeting to the tasting room. The staff member who was serving us was great, very welcoming, knowledgeable, and not to pushy on wine sales. The aesthetics inside the tasting room were very relaxing and not too busy either. I loved the restoration of the old brick walls and large wooden beams, really brings back the historic Sonoma vibe.
The wine flight was a respectable $25, which is surprising as it is the Sonoma square, so I expected a higher tab. With that came two whites (One for members) and three reds (One for members), which were all great, but as usual a red won out on me. The home run winner was the Chardonnay, which was surprising for me as I am usually not a huge Chardonnay fan. When it comes to bottle prices, they ranged from an affordable $30 to an upwards $90. They do server cheese and charcuterie boards, but I cannot speak on them as we did not partake in such.
In the end, it was a great experience and one I could easily recommend if someone is visiting the square anytime soon.
