This is truly a hidden gem. It is a one man operation so it makes sense it opens at 10 am. He bakes and takes care of customers. The bakery is tiny, but everything smells soooo good. I would have taken the three cheese sourdough in an instant if I wasn’t traveling. The apricot danish was too notch and the house brewed, was good. They also have slices of pizza and smoothies. If I lived here, I would be there at least twice per week. Great small place to enjoy some coffee and a pastry, this is a true cafe. I will make it back just so I can come back to but the sourdough, that is how good this place is. Also prices are reasonable, racially compared to the other restaurants.

Google
Had a delicious raspberry cream cheese danish. Very buttery and flaky! Picked up some 3 cheese sourdough for dinner. Can’t wait to try it. Very friendly owner too!

Google
Best pizza on the planet. If you can catch the almond twists, they are also amazing. A truly special, little place with great customer service.

Google
Excellent place for pizza by the slice or a pastry. They also have an espresso machine for any kind of drink you are looking for. They make their own lemonade which is to die for.We ended up buying 2 cases of it.

Google
I stopped by on a Thursday morning for some pastries for breakfast and selected a croissant, scone, and apricot danish. The bakery has a nice selection of bread, pastries, sandwiches and pizzas. The croissant was dense and thick, the Danish was not really sweet and a little dense, and the scone had good taste. Located in the Nye Beach district of Newport on SW Coast Street near 2nd street. The pastries were a little disappointing, but I did not try the other products in the bakery. The bakery is a local favorite and I would suggest a visit to try the bread and pizza.

Google
This place is barely ever open to begin with. They also do not keep accurate hours. It’s easy enough to post on Google when you’re going to be closed on vacation why not do that and help people out? Just walked up to see a paper sign on the door that they’re closed. Saw several other people do the same thing. Love their sticky buns. Their pizza is not good though.

Google
Nice variety of fresh made pastries, cookies and bread loafs. The cherry cheese puff pastry is so good.

Google
Best coffee I've had in years! Great vibes, great guy, great coffee. The blackberry Italian sodas are made with real berry syrup and are also very tasty.

Yelp
Entering the shop you're greeted with the smell of fresh bread and the sight of mouth watering pasteries. I ordered a latte which was delicious, chocolate chip cookie and sour dough mini boule. I really enjoyed everything I bought and would be back to try other bread or the pizza!

Keith H.

Yelp
Best pizza I've had in Newport hands down. There's other good pizza but nothing tops Panini!

Yelp
If you love Newport then you know that Nye beach is where it's at. If you know Nye beach, then you should know this excellent bakery that's been a mainstay for locals and visitors for several decades. This is a tiny, casual storefront, staffed by friendly bakers and baristas. This is the only place in Newport where you can get fresh handmade artisan, baguettes, sourdough, and rustic European style breads. They also have pizza for lunch, and a variety of savory and sweet pastries. Standard coffee and espresso drinks. Affordable quality. There's a reason this place has been around for decades, and I hope they stay around for many more. This is a must-do while in Newport!

Yelp
This bakery is located in the Nye Beach area and operates as a walk-up window, so I almost passed it when looking for it. Luckily, someone else was ordering before me so I was able to spot it. The bakery offers different pastries each day, and updates its board accordingly. The first day I went here, I ordered a ham and cheese croissant and a cherry Danish. The croissant's bread to filling ratio felt off (not enough meat and cheese for the amount of bread), but the croissant itself was buttery and flaky. The cherry danish was really rich--under the layer of cherry compote, there was a cream cheese layer, and it was honestly too rich for me to eat. I did enjoy the bread portion, but the cheese really put it over. The second day I stopped by, I ordered a cheese and spinach scone, a chocolate croissant and a strawberry danish. The scone was good--it wasn't overly dry as scones often are, but it was lacking in spinach (from my expectations). The chocolate croissant was similar--filling was lacking but bread was good. And the strawberry danish was really similar to the cherry danish from the previous visit, where the filling was too rich but the danish itself was flaky and buttery. Even though the filling amount seemed to be a struggle, I did still enjoy stopping by this bakery. The employees were friendly and helpful, and the prices seemed fair. I also liked that it was open earlier than other bakeries in the nearby area, which was nice for early morning pastry runs.

Yelp
Such a lovely place to stop and enjoy some high quality coffee, friendly people, and yummy baked goods. Came in with nothing and left with a smoothie, a Borgia coffee (delicious orange and chocolate with espresso), and 4 pastries. Will come again and can't believe I haven't been yet!

Yelp
Wonderful bakery. Great service. Delicious pastries and breads. They make the best chocolate chip cookies.

Yelp
Pizza Pizza!! great crust, lots of toppings, good varieties. low prices. Don't get me wrong, the pastries are delish, but gone most times by the time I roll in for a pizza

Yelp
Isn't Newport one of the most idyllic seaside communities on the West Coast or what?!?!? PANINI BAKERY is an actual bakery and they bake their own breads and pastries here. It is also one of the few (probably 5) places that was open early when we were there during the summer. You know you came to the right place when the locals are there to read the newspaper and talk about local happenings. The place is super tiny and I love it for it! Their GRANOLA YOGURT had house-made granola and the yogurt was unsweetened (all natural as some would say). The coffee was dark and brewed strong and made sure we were ready for the day. The CHOCOLATE CROISSANT was so very good too. Panini Bakery was within walking distance of several hotels in the area and is a short walk from the sand. It seemed to be a good spot to stop for the local cyclists.

Yelp
This little bakery is a gem. We frequent it often when in town. Owner is a super nice guy and his offerings are delicious. This trip we had a number of things all of which were beyond delicious. My husband says the tiramisu is the best thing he has ever had. I loved the banana bread. Pizza by the slice lets you try different toppings and is great. See you again in July.

Yelp
Quality over quantity. A staple in Newport in my opinion. Love this place and its people.

Yelp
Great experience. Found on Yelp so wanted to give it a shot. Grabbed 3 ham & cheese croissants and a chocolate croissant. Took them back to our place, popped each into the microwave for 30 seconds and they were godly good. Coffee was decent, nice roasty flavor and not over powering. Wish I had more days to hit this place every day!

Yelp
Talk about a hole-in-the-wall joint, this is it! Barely visible until you almost pass it. There are several small tables inside and a small porch area for two out front. Walking in you find a small store front counter area with a larger kitchen area in the back. The display case is an art show of tasty treats. The cinnamon buns are as huge as bricks! There are various scones, muffins, danishes.... i opted for the ham and cheese croissant. This place is by no means glamorous, but the food is worth fighting over, very delicious and brought to you with a smile. I'll be back tomorrow morning for another go around!

Yelp
Wow! I can't believe I hadn't been here all the years we have visited the coast. Today we went there because I had walked by and knew they had pizza by the slice and that sounded like a nice alternative to what we had been eating. I got veggie and hubby got pepperoni. I counted 22 pepperonis on ONE slice. !!!! That's almost unheard of. It was just perfect. We will now be regulars . Wish I owned this goldmine :). Great service too. Go!

Yelp
their hours on all websites are different. they actually close at 2 and open at 10. advertised hours i've seen 7am-8pm and 8am-2. soooo annoying and stupid. would have loved to actually try

Yelp
Best coffee in town by far..... if you like it strong don't look any further this is your place The baked goods are amazing as well

Yelp
Great pastries and bread . Their Chai tea was too spicy for me, others may like it. Friendly staff. Great little stop after a walk on the beach

Yelp
Favorite local bakery! Parmesan scones are delicious. I love the long cinnamon twists. They are so delicate and flaky. Margherita pizza is the best ever. Awesome staff. Good food. Can't go wrong.

Yelp
Great little bakery tucked back off the road, just up the hill from Nana's Irish Pub. Nice selection of breads, sandwiches, pizzas, coffees and other baked items. A couple pizzas by the slice. Tried a slice of the pepperoni and a salted chocolate chip cookie. Both were great. Can't wait to get back and try their sandwiches.

Yelp
Well my last review was almost two years ago, so since I've gone to Panini like fifty times in the last month, I want to update. They now have pre-made ham, butter, and swiss baguettes and they're the best thing to have happened to me recently. I ate one every three days in a row a couple weeks back. Their coffee is delicious and so are their smoothies. The berry puff pastries are wonderful, too. My original experience was not authentic, so I couldn't get a full feel for how good they really are. I haven't gotten any pizza since my first visit, but I eyeball it every time. Thanks for being here, Panini!
google avatar

Lauren F.

Yelp
I used to love this spot because their extensive panini menu was amazing. Sadly, Panini Bakery no longer has their panini menu which is pretty disappointing. They only offer two pre-made sandwiches which pale in comparison to what they used to produce. Hopefully one day they will sell paninis again.

Yelp
These guys have the bread! But, more than that you can get a very light, nicely prepared pizza here, believe it or not. The seating is limited...but we like to take out and have the Greek pizza with a local IPA. a great lunch choice, located right in the center of Nye Beach area.
google avatar

Yelp
Pizza any day I can get it. Bread everyday of the week. Pastries everyday day and best coffee anywhere in town.
google avatar

Heather S.

Yelp
Overpriced for what it is. We stopped by for a between meal snack. $5 for a not-very-warm piece of pizza. Cute little cafe in nice neighborhood , but next time would make a different choice.

Yelp
I am still chewing as I write this review because I am so excited to share with the world how FANTASTIC this bakery is. Let me share my story... Upon arrival I was not overly optimistic. The bakery barely sticks out amongst the quiet quaint town, COVID has caused the bakery only to be accessible via walk up window, and the menu is comprised of a scribbled blackboard. This place is the poster child for "don't judge a book by its cover". It is a hidden jem. So on to the real stuff - the FOOD... I ordered a turkey sandwich, expecting some sliced turkey maybe a tomato slapped between two pieces of bread but this was magical. The price of $12 seems a little high but I soon realized it was a screamin deal when you see the size this guy - easily could have been two sandwiches. Now the quality of the meat deserves its own review. Thick juicy real pieces of turkey accompanied by a plethora of fixings, including pepperonchines which added a great crunch and spice. The bakery then layered a perfect ratio of a creamy balsamic aioli. Lastly and most importantly, the sourdough bread was as good as mamas - soft and doughy in the middle with a nice crunchy crust. To add to my perfect meal, I ordered a hot creamy tomato basil for dipping. I am a very picky eater and this was hands down the best sandwich I have ever had!! Bravo!
google avatar

Hilary B.

Yelp
Amazing sandwiches nearby Nye Beach. The sandwiches are pretty huge and could be split. I got the turkey BLT on sourdough and every part was excellent and they include a bag of kettle chips. Everything is to-go now which was perfect to then eat on the beach. Will definitely be back to this beach just to stop by Panini Bakery for lunch!

Yelp
My kids (10, 11) had a apple cinnamon panini warmed with honey cream cheese. They ate them 30 minutes ago and can NOT stop talking about it! Try it!
google avatar

james a.

Yelp
The baked goods still look really good here, but they seemed to have lost their recipe for good pizza.... And a few years ago it was the best pizza in town. They used to have a delicious red sauce with whole roasted garlic cloves and a really deep rich tomato flavor. Very little if any sauce now. Massive amounts of very plain cheese made for a overly greasy pizza. I bought two slices and ended up throwing most of it away. Really disappointing.
google avatar

Wendy J.

Yelp
Whoa. We had some scones, muffins, danish, and some knock your socks off sourdough bread. Whoa man. This place is a gem! Then we went back and got the cheesy sourdough. Oh my goodness. So, so good! Only constructive criticism is to reduce the amount of black pepper in the cheese loaf. Our family will be back whenever we can and I highly recommend you stop over too! We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Humongous cinnamon rolls!!!! Love love love this bakery. We just moved into the area and found it by chance but I feel it was meant to be. Their cinnamon rolls are spectacular and sooooo big. The pumpkin pie was just the right about of sweet and creamy.

Yelp
Love this spot on the Coast. Excellent pizza slices: perfect NY fold. Innovative toppings.

Yelp
This is a Treasure for those wanting very good baked goods made right on premises, fun service and good coffee drinks. If your looking for big and fancy, not your place. Each time I come to Newport this is my go too place every morning for my coffee and a baked good. They don't always have the same items each morning which makes it fun for me to choose something different, but always good. You can see the many racks of bread loafs, that will be picked up or delivered to many local restaurants and used later in the day for Chowder bowls or other coastal treats. Lastly, not a real big space, but there are a few tables to enjoy your coffee drink and fresh baked treat. Must stop at spot when in Newport.
google avatar

Romeo C.

Yelp
This a cute little whole in the wall spot really close to the beach. They provide a vast majority of pastries and drinks. The menu contains additional food items for those looking for more then a snack including portabello and salads. This trendy spot is a must go.
google avatar

Eric S.

Yelp
It always a pleasure to find a "real" bakery that actually does their own baking and doesn't just ship in products and try to make you think they actually bake items. Panini is just one of those places from the time you walk in the door, you know they take pride in the items they bake. The only problem I had was there were too many good items to choose from. Do yourself a favor and stop in while you are in Nye Beach. If not for a meal, at least get some traveling eats.
google avatar

Kristen N.

Yelp
The breads look amazing! Super cute inside and small and quaint. He pastries are nicely sized and the people are nice'

Yelp
We bought a cranberry walnut panini. It was a perfect five-inch round loaf of chewy, crusty bread that had been topped with a sugar glaze and sprinkled with large sugar crystals. The first bite was surprise and delight. One of the best things I've ever eaten. We gobbled it up, returned to the bakery and bought two more. Wow. $1.50 each. We are going back today.
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered two pieces of Pepperoni to go yesterday...when I got them home, I realized the crust was not fully cooked, the bottom of the pizza was a soggy doughy mess. I called Panini Bakery immediately and let them know the pizza needed to be cooked and it was a mess... She hung up on me:( I have going to Panini Bakery since my 22yr old daughter was a baby...we live here part time. I recommend this pizza EVERYDAY!! Just a little longer in a hot oven people....

Jasmine F.

Yelp
I love the walk up window service! You can see all the breads and pastries and smell everything! I ended up getting a loaf of Rosemary sourdough and three cheese sourdough, and a little croissant pastry. Everything is so yummy! I'll definitely make it a point to stop in every time I visit Newport and Nye Beach!

Yelp
TOP NOTCH BAKERY ! My wife and I were on a one week driving vacation in Oregon not long back. After picking up our rental car at Portland airport we headed to the coast and commenced to work our way down. We stopped along the way at famous tourist spots and places that we found interesting. Our last coastal stopover was beautiful Newport where we had a late dinner at Georgie's Beachside Grill inside the Hallmark Resort Hotel where we spent a comfortable night. Everything about our dinner was sensational including the amazing complimentary artisan Sourdough Bread. We asked Tamie our server.....did you guys bake this delicious bread ? We get it from Panini Bakery 5 minutes down the road was her reply. Straight after breakfast at The Coffee House the next morning we scooted straight over here to buy some fresh bread supplies. The bakery smelled so wonderful when we walked in around 10am...like the smell of bakeries from my childhood hometown. The staff were very helpful while we fussed about deciding on our selections. We bought a bunch of Artisan Breads, Spicy flatbreads & Chocolate Croissants to take to our kids at our next stop in Eugene. Everything tasted really good when we made sandwiches for lunch in Eugene. A real friendly bakery with great coffee and pizza too !

Yelp
I just tried a blueberry scones here. It was completely tasteless. I think the closest thing to flavor was a hint of shortening.
google avatar

Valerie W.

Yelp
My go-to on the coast for good pizza and sandwiches. Their tomato basil soup for lunch is amazing, it's perfect for a rainy day! This place doesn't disappoint!
google avatar

Adrienne H.

Yelp
I love this place. I go to their neighbor, Jovi, whenever I'm in town and it's a tradition for me to go and get a mocha or something from them. Their pizzas, sandwiches and pastries even during COVID has been wonderful. They are not cheating out and it shows they care for their customers. We've gotten their Margherita pizza before and when we ask for extra basil they take it as a challenge to add as much as they can put on it with a large amount of garlic and tomatoes. It's always delicious and their black bottom cupcakes are so good. Today I needed a good mocha so I went over to them and ordered a mocha breve. I drove away and took a sip to discover it was just a breve. I understand the mask makes it difficult to hear so I returned and told them. They took it back, disposed of it and remade a mocha breve for me. What was given was my wonderful mocha they have always made. With a "I love you, guys! Stay safe!" I was off thanking them for it. Thank you for the excellent food and customer service!

Yelp
Loved the housemade chocolate eclairs! They were filled all the way so you had delicious cream in every bite. The pastries were delicious and they had bags of day old for $5 that were perfectly fine and delicious. The scones were dry. The muffins were tasty and moist.
google avatar

Lacy D.

Yelp
This place has delicious sandwiches but the name is a bit misleading as the sandwiches are not traditional paninis. I know this doesn't seem like a big deal, but when you are traveling and pregnant (can't eat cold deli meats) and with a hungry toddler then you order your food and cannot eat it, let's just say it's disappointing. The profile states "good for kids"but there are no kids items in the menu and they were happy to make a grilled cheese but didn't seem use to doing this. There's also very little indoor seating so if you have more than one child this would be a difficult place to eat. Again-food was great once we got back to our place and I could heat up the sandwich and have a place to sit but the profile is misleading in a couple of ways.
google avatar

Marissa O.

Yelp
Amazing service, coffee, sweet treats, breads and vibe ! Do yourself a favor and ask for the last baked item out of the oven and pair it with the orange rind coffee ! It will be the best start of your day !
google avatar

Lucia B.

Yelp
The bread is made fresh on the premises, and was buttery and crisp around the edges and had a soft, fluffy texture within. It was without a doubt the best Portabello mushroom sandwich I have ever had, and my husband's salami sandwich was just as delicious!
google avatar

Nicole H.

Yelp
A tiny and delicious beacon in Nye Beach. What a pleasant surprise! Every pastry we've had here has been capital "D" - delicious! Psssst...they have chocolate eclairs. Like, the REAL DEAL, perfectly executed, gloriously creamy on the inside, fluffy and chocolatey on the outside. It should be noted that they have an actual French pastry chef on staff. (From. France. Squeeee!) Bonus: Quality house coffee is A DOLLAR a cup. A DOLLAR, people! ($1.50 gets you free refills. What?!) Heading back for the pizza next and then sandwiches and then.... Glad I live in Depoe Bay because this could be habit forming! Update: Went for the pizza. Yes, it was delicious. Yes, we will be getting fat soon. Also, I've noticed there's a lot of complaints regarding the (less than ideal) service here. I will say this; don't expect much. We've never experienced rudeness just a bit of aloofness. Imagine an entire staff of felines. Come for the food and it won't matter all that much, I promise.

Yelp
Awesome rustic sourdough. True sour taste that is head and shoulders above supermarkets' sourdough breads.
