Stopped by for a Monday lunch and had a great experience. We ordered the Roasted Turkey and Italian sandwiches—both were incredibly fresh, flavorful, and made with high-quality ingredients. The restaurant was reasonably busy but not overcrowded, and our food came out quickly. A perfect spot for a delicious and efficient lunch. Highly recommend!

Google
Enjoy a half sandwich/salad combo:) I had #16 sandwich with the salad with tomatoes, pine nuts, raisins, and goat cheese. The dressing was a thick and creamy balsamic and was delicious on the salad! Prices were fair and staff was friendly and professional as we placed our order at the counter and waited for sandwiches. Very clean and well organized little place. I don’t recall if there was indoor seating, but there was a few tables outside.

A must needed pit stop in between wine tastings! Will be back to try their other sandwiches. The #4 Roast Beef & Horseradish Cheddar on focaccia bread was phenomenal and the ingredients were so fresh and flavorful. There is plenty of seating as well as an abundance of parking spaces nearby. This place is hate to miss, as it's in the center of downtown Los Olivos. Definitely so stop by to either dine in or pick up as a snack/meal after a wine tasting!

Panino used to be one of my all time favorite places to grab a sandwich at. Having not visited for probably nine years, I was so excited to be back to try it again. Unfortunately, it tastes nothing how my husband and I remembered our favorite sandwiches. There were a ton of greens on both of our sandwiches and hardly any meat, which never used to be the case. Four thin slices of salami on a sandwich just isn't going to cut it. The staff were not super friendly, unfortunately. I had asked a few questions and the girl seemed really annoyed by them which surprised me. Also, after I placed my order and paid, the employee informed me that it was at least a 20 minute wait. It would've been nice to know that beforehand so I could decide if I wanted to eat there or not. It took about 40 minutes for our sandwiches and definitely was not worth the wait. We'll go to Bob's Well Bread next time instead since their sandwiches are consistently good.

The sandwiches we ordered were amazingly good. If only pictures could convey flavor! Highly recommend. It is a bummer that there are no public restrooms in this town.

Google
I had a great experience at Panino! I ordered the Italian sandwich, and it was fantastic—high-quality ingredients and fresh bread made all the difference. The service was quick and friendly. I was sharing my sandwich and they brought it out on 2 plates without even having to ask. The restaurant was clean and well maintained. I appreciated that they open earlier than most other spots in town, which is super convenient. A nice surprise was that they also sell Rori’s artisanal ice cream sandwiches—definitely a treat worth trying!

Google
Good place with a nice selection of sandwiches and salads. Good sized portions - if you are not too hungry easy to share. Take away with you on a winery tasting picnic or eat outside in front and watch the foot traffic in Los Olivos.

I needed a sandwich to take along to a local vineyard and this fit the bill perfectly! The Italian combo on focaccia was great. Hold the mayo for me. The balsamic dressing was just fine. Just go!

Yelp
SCW stopped into Panino Los Olivos in between wine tastings in town. It comes highly recommended on Yelp and they seemed to do tons of business. There are tables and chairs outside along the main street or you can get your order to go. We did to go. The menu is overhead by number. They also have some laminated menus off to the side that give a description of what is in each sandwich or salad. I opted for #27 and SCW got #28 I think. Ordering took a few minutes just to get to the counter with so many people in line. Once we ordered (the employee we ordered from was helpful and kind) it took less than 10 minutes to get our sandwiches. We opted to go to a park across the street to eat as it's quite loud and busy in the seating area. My sandwich which was on whole wheat sourdough bread was good but really soggy. It's not like much time passed before I ate the sandwich but it was literally wet and dripping. Minus a star for that. The veggies inside were really fresh and flavorful. I enjoyed that aspect of the sandwich but not how soggy it was. I had a bite or two of SCWs sandwich and it was really tasty. Not at all soggy. Overall I enjoyed the sandwich and glad we opted to eat at the park as it's just too busy and loud to really enjoy the meal for me in the dining space. I'd certainly come back but probably order a different sandwich.

Yelp
This place just slaps. I've come here for years and it's hands down one of the cutest cafes I've ever been to. So laid back, service is great, prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get, and quality of ingredients is really *chefs kiss* (but I mean I would expect nothing less). We came here today after running the Wine Country 1/2 Marathon and thinking about getting a sando at this place after was basically the only thing that got me through it . When we finally rolled up, I walked past a diner who had gotten the curried chicken salad and IMMEDIATELY pulled an audible and got one myself. I mean JUST LOOK AT IT! The curried chicken salad has the perfect blend of savory from the chicken, sweet from the apples and dried cranberries, crunch from the slivered almonds and romaine lettuce, and acidity from the creamy balsamic dressing. I also asked for the focaccia instead of the sourdough that comes with it....OH MY GOD THE FOCACCIA needs a review in ITSELF! had the PERFECT chew and yeasty flavor. 100/100 would recommend next time you visit. Thanks Panino!

Yelp
Back again and so good again! Our tradition is to take out and take to a winery. Good tradition! I tried a half sandwich small salad option. My Cobb salad sandwich on sour dough was big! The Harvest salad was a good side. The sandwich was unique with a fancy ham, chicken, blue cheese, and more. My friends had good tomato mozzarella creation and others with chicken. All yum! We also got a sourdough loaf to take home! A cute and very busy shop in pretty Los Olivos. Service nice but slow with long lines. Worth the wait. And this food with a good wine tasting hits the spot. Cheers.

Susan R.

Yelp
We always stop in for a sandwich and soup when visiting Los Olivos. We still enjoyed the tomato bisque soup yesterday but were very disappointed with the sandwiches. Sandwiches were all bread, lettuce and tomato with very little meat. They used to be packed full of meats, especially the Italian deli but no more. I hope they reconsider adding another few slices of meat, otherwise I'll just be sticking with the soup from now on.

Roger S.

Yelp
Prolly one of the best sandwiches Ever! We come here Everytime we are passing through. Definitely a must if you are in Los Olivos or passing by!!

Kyra M.

Yelp
Phenomenal Sandwiches! You have to get the number 12 on focaccia bread. Their focaccia bread is similar to a ciabatta where is is not as heavily seasoned as a traditional focaccia and is baked in house and melts in your mouth. Great large outdoor seating area or great for calling in a Togo order. We ordered 12 sandwiches for a poolside day and it was ready in 15 minutes. They also have beer and wine and every flavor of kettle chips. The chips come in small bags or they sell family size bags which is nice for a crowd. 10/10 recommend great spot with great food and lots of options. Extremely fresh ingredients with lots of variety.

Roslyn L.

Yelp
Picked up some great sandwiches to eat at the park across the street. It was such a pretty park we couldn't imagine eating any other location. We also got to listen to the live band at Figueroa Mountain Brewery since it's nearby. We got a Mixed Veggie Sandwich and Curried Chicken Salad sandwich to go and they were soooo good! I love the artichokes and sundried tomatoes with honey mustard.

Lizzie M.

Yelp
I love how they have a huge variety of sandwiches! Especially, vegetarian options which are hard to come by for a sandwich shop. I also like the location and open air seating. It's prefect stop for a day of wine tasting and eating!

Cynthia C.

Yelp
Nice little lunch stop in center of Los Olivos. Tried a cup of the Chicken Tortilla Soup, which came with slices of sourdough bread. Soup was very hot(temperature wise) and flavorful, but not spicy, which I like. My friend ordered the chicken salad sandwich and found it flavorful as well. She requested it on whole wheat, but received sourdough instead. Still thought it was good. Prices might be a bit high, but this is a high end tourist town sooo... Cheers! CC

Lynne O.

Yelp
Service was slow although there was not a crowd. Order was not taken completely. Cobb salad bore no resemblance to any Cobb salad and was served without dressing. When dressing was requested, we were told only vinaigrette was served. I mean really.

David L.

Yelp
Excellent sandwiches! We picked up sandwiches and took them with us as we visited local wineries. We had a big group. All were excellent!

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
Love love love! Thank you Yelp. We enjoyed our sandwiches so much that we ordered an extra to go!!!! #1 fav was the #25 on focaccia #2 was the turkey and Brie on focaccia #3 roast beef #4 chicken salad on baguette - probably wouldn't order this one again

cheryl a.

Yelp
Excellent choice of sandwiches and salads. Ingredients fresh and tasty!! Friendly and attentive service

Ariella A.

Yelp
Stopped here on the way from SLO to Ventura. Such a cute little town, beautiful weather, the seating outside was definitely a plus! Food came almost immediately! Got the #12 on sourdough 10/10 sand the bread was so fresh My boyfriend got #18 on a baguette 6/10 baguette was too hard for a sandwich, the curry chicken was yummy

Charlyann M.

Yelp
Very good sandwiches and soups. They have black forest ham which is my fave. The French baguette is crispy and hearty. My sister got the chicken noodle soup and loved it. They sell kettle chips and sodas in the can.

Kathleen B.

Yelp
The sandwiches are amazing in a foodie bougie way. Baguette with salami, goat cheese and olive tapenade is my favorite. And Rori's ice cream sandwich [chef's kiss]!

Kapualani B.

Yelp
When people ask about going to Santa Barbara, I always include this sandwich shop on the must do list. I've been to all three locations but the Los Olivos shop is my favorite. It's such a relaxed setting especially after a few wine tastings. The staff are always so friendly and super efficient. Even with long lines during the peak lunch hours, they manage to crank out those meals in a timely manner. My husband usually gets a sandwich that he always is happy with. I recommend the curried chicken salad. Nothing is more refreshing than a full plate of greens topped with protein.

Cindy P.

Yelp
I had THE BEST sandwich here! I got the Genoa salami but added goat cheese. The sourdough wheat bread was sooo fresh. The amount of salami was perfect. It had sun dried tomatoes and a little honey added to the VERY creamy goat cheese. The lettuce was so fresh and crisp. Heavenly! Divine!!

Kenneth P.

Yelp
Great food, great selection. Can get busy around noon. Nice sitting at a table on the square or take your sandwich to a winery for a tasting. Be careful of the hard roll, it'll give your jaw a workout

Glenn M.

Yelp
Best sandwich shop in California. Can't find this in LA anywhere, or up North... and the question is... WHY? The Los Olivos Panino is, honestly, better than the other locations. More consistent in my opinion. Favorites: Tuna Sandwich Roast Chicken Sandwich (all of them) Genoa Salami #16 Sandwich Black and White Sandwich Mixed Veggie Sandwich Best part - all the sandwiches pairs well with any wine you're having! We love ordering sandwiches in the morning in Los Olivos and sitting at a table at Coquelicot and have a wine tasting.

Donna B.

Yelp
We have been fans of the Panino in Santa Barbara, so we knew we were going to have great sandwiches. I got the chicken curry salad sandwich. Perfect curry flavor mixed with chicken, dried cranberries and apple. Jeff got the roast beef sandwich, which he enjoyed very much. Plenty of outdoor seating, friendly service and a great place to people watch as you are literally in the center of town. I knocked a star off due to not having any bathroom facilities. The host said the towns bathrooms are located at a church down the road. 2 blocks later (it's a small town), outside of town, we reached the bathroom facilities at St. Mark's in the Valley Church. I certainly hope the businesses in town and the town itself, respectfully provide financial assistance to the church for providing their patron's, bathroom facilities. I have never in all my travels ran into this situation. Once we arrived at the church my irritation soften as the bathrooms were lovely and graciously provided to the public. Located in a beautiful courtyard where we could sit and peacefully contemplate the ridiculousness of bathroom conundrum.

Yelp
Bread was too hard and large to make the sandwich easy to enjoy ;( I think we will try the grocery store next time we are there

Yelp
My husband and I came to visit Los Olivos since we were staying nearby. The restaurant: We found this place on Yelp and decided to try it. It's a small place with not a lot of seating area but that was ok. We took our food across the street to a little park and we ate there. The waitstaff: The waitress was really nice and attentive. She was very helpful with our order and with our questions too. The drinks: They have all sorts of drinks. I got a bottle of mineral water and hubby got his Diet Coke. The main course: We ordered salads. I got the English Stilton Salad with Chicken and hubby got the Goat Cheese & Roasted Red Pepper with Chicken. You do pay extra for the chicken which we didn't mind. I also ordered a Tomato Soup. The soup and salads come with bread and butter. We loved the salads! They're fresh and delicious!! My salad had slices of pears and dried cranberries. I also loved their creamy salad vinaigrette it was very tasty! My husband's salad was amazing too!! The tomato soup was hot and delicious and we dunked the bread in the soup! It was soo good! The conclusion: I really liked the food and the flavors of the food. The staff were very friendly. My husband and I will definitely come back here when we're back in town!! I recommend it!!

Krist S.

Yelp
Food was so good and worth the price. Service was as fast as one could be and very friendly.

Dino H.

Yelp
Perfect lil sandwich shop in lil town. I ordered the goat cheese sandwich on a ciabatta and it was perfect. Service is quick and there is outside sitting which is great for the atmosphere and weather.

JoAnne M.

Yelp
I had the best sandwich of my life from this shop. The Cotswold cheese sandwich. It's a vegetarian delight! Highly recommend. It's also big enough to get two meals out of. Yummmmmmmmmmyyyyy

Trace V.

Yelp
Small place in Los Olivos near many of the wine stores / tasting rooms. Great place for a sandwich to eat outside as the weather was lovely that day. LOVED the curried chicken salad on fresh greens. Next time will try it on the homemade bread that everyone else seemed to enjoying. Or even better -- bring it to one of the wineries or breweries nearby that let you BYOF. Any place that quotes my man Warren Zevon HAS to be good! "Enjoy Every Sandwich"

Michelle P.

Yelp
Great variety of sandwiches!! Service was fabulous!! I'd like to try the one in solvang next!!

Sasha F.

Yelp
We love the sandwiches! Love the location! Any time we're in SB, we've got to come here and get lunch. Everything is always fresh. I think their selection of salads could use some work -- if you're into salads, you'll know what I mean -- but the sandwiches are good!

Seb G.

Yelp
Convenient sandwiches for every taste. Perfect to take on the road too. Had the chicken, lettuce, tomato and loved it. Good outdoor seating, but it could get hot on summer days. Friendly staff at the register and serving the food.

Coral M.

Yelp
Soup was delicious. It is a great go to sandwich place if you don't want to dine in. They do need more soup options though, but overall, very good.

Marc G.

Yelp
Food is fresh and made with the best ingredients. Simple but so delicious. Service was fast and friendly. Great spot for lunch.

Sarah L.

Yelp
Going wine tasting in the area and want something fresh, and filling, to start off your day? Head to Panino, it has exactly what you're looking for! I went around noon on a Sunday and I have to say it was a little busy, but nothing that steered me away. And thank goodness I didn't! I was so thrilled when digging into my Italian Combo sandwich. I could tell that the ingredients used were insanely fresh and it comes out looking like a masterpiece. My tummy also thanked me for giving it such a delicious/fresh lunch before tasting what the area's wineries had to offered. Thank you so much, Panino, for a very tasty experience!

Liza S.

Yelp
Amazing service and food! We called in a very large order on a busy weekend and it was ready very quickly. Love the chicken salad, so good!

Terri N.

Yelp
Really looked forward to lunch based on the reviews. We ordered a roast chicken w/prosciutto sandwich (#14). Sounded great. Chicken, prosciutto, roasted peppers, olive oil, balsamic and greens. At $14.50 we definitely expected more than 2 little slices of chicken. The bigger problem is balsamic is overwhelming and it's all we tasted. It's also not like regular condiments so the sandwich was also dry. Their sandwiches don't include anything so we added chips and a can of soda. They mistakenly added other people's beverages to our bill. Fortunately they came to tell us and adjust the bill. The salads other people ordered looked nice. Wish we had tried the curried chicken salad. Definitely don't recommend the #14 sandwich and definitely disappointed by the minimal amount of chicken on the sandwich.

gregory k.

Yelp
Absolutely love these sandwiches with great outdoor seating and a large selection to choose from

Alan K.

Yelp
We stopped by this cute little town for a little wine tasting and then we decided to get a little lunch at Panino's which was excellent. My wife and I both got a half sandwich and half soup which was really like a full sandwich and bowl of soup. I got the chicken salad on ciabatta and my wife got the caprese and we both got the Italian wedding soup which was marvelous! I couldn't even finish it. If you're ever in Los olivos this is the place to get a great sandwich!

Tim G.

Yelp
Fantastic sandwiches! We have had the opportunity to enjoy Panino sandwiches with friends a couple of times when visiting the area, and they are always so good! Fresh ingredients, assembled beautifully, and clearly made with love. Amazing!

R T.

Yelp
Excellent! Great sandwiches and they were very friendly. Also, I love their choice of To Go cups. And the recycling bin is all wire - probably helps stop idiots from throwing garbage in with recycling. Smart.

Dave K.

Yelp
Good sandwiches but got head-faked by the name into thinking it was a panini place (i.e., grilled Italian sandwiches without too much filling on big bread or maybe focaccia. In this case it was just a regular sandwich, but a good one. I guess panino just means bread in Italian. The toppings were fresh and crisp. Overall an excellent sandwich but an unfortunate surprise.

Steve B.

Yelp
Passing thru the town on our way to Pismo Beach, found this gem for lunch. Staff was friendly and food was awesome, as well as the portions were large. Great bargain for the money, and it didn't hurt that we were able to enjoy our lunch at outdoor tables in the California sun

Alyssa J.

Yelp
We tried 3 different sandwiches here: #6, #9, #12 The sandwiches overall were very good, this was a nice "quick bite" place. One note, there's limited seating and the patio is very sunny. We ended up taking our food over to Figueroa Mtn Brewing to have with a beer and sit at their large patio. Our rating: Portion Size: 3.5 Taste: 4.5 Price: 2.5 Overall: 4

Ted C.

Yelp
It doesn't seem like Los Olivos has a lot of restaurants in general, and besides the deli up the street the only other place to get a quick bite is a Subway. When tasting rooms only have a 5-6 hour window, every minute spent not drinking wine is a minute wasted. So, with that in mind Panino was basically the only option available since no one in the group even considered Subway as an option. I ended up with the #8, which I thought was decent-pretty good spread of meats and a lot of veggies, but cucumber on an Italian combo was a little weird. Likewise, the #1 the Roast Turkey was called a 'winner' on the menu. It was ok, maybe more like 1st runner up. I was a little disappointed I traded half of my sandwich for this. However, the Curried Chicken Salad was huge and a huge hit with my quaran-teammate. Huge portion of chicken with lots of strong spice flavor from either the meat or from the honey mustard. It was gone in a flash, and I'm not a huge fan of entree salads. It was this that put it over the just ok mark.

Andrea K.

Yelp
Tried the Italian and it was delicious, just wish it was bigger! There was a good amount of meat and cheese. I would definitely go back.

Michael T.

Yelp
Los Olivos is ALL ABOUT hopping form tasting room to tasting room... so if you want any shot at doing that responsibly and extending your tolerance, you need to stay nourished. This is an amazing sandwich shop with a WIDE variety of offerings! We also appreciated their larger bags of fancy Kettle Brand Chips. There are several tasting rooms with outdoor patios that let you bring lunch, so we'd recommend to get your lunch to go and walk over to a tasting room such as Stolpman Vineyards across the street and eating their while doing another tasting! Can't go wrong!!!

Fiammetta P.

Yelp
Yummy sandwiches in various bread options (baguette, focaccia, sourdough, and one more I can't remember!) great to take away to the brewery or to enjoy on their patio!

Tatiana V.

Yelp
Always amazing and fresh sandwiches, delicious soups and salads, service with a smile (even though they are always so busy) and definitely work the stop in if you are in Los Olivos. Don't sleep on Panino!!!

Spencer K.

Yelp
The #18 on sourdough wheat. Everyone in town knows this sandwich. We heard about it from a man named Jefferson who works at J Woeste (another must visit.) Everyone was right. Enjoy.
