Pantai Batu Bolong

A beach with plenty of attractions. Our favorite spot, always full of excitement. Of course, you can surf with an instructor, and board rentals are reasonably priced. There are plenty of restaurants with a view and beach bars where you can relax. A beautiful place for a romantic evening with a sunset view. I recommend the baked corn on the beach for 20,000 rupees.

It's a great beach for learning to surf and watching others. If you head left after landing, you'll find there are much fewer waves. The right side of the cliff is quite wavy for swimming. It’s always crowded but sunset is amazing!

Batu Bolong Beach in Canggu is an incredible spot. Yes, it gets crowded (like most places in Bali), but it’s well worth a visit. The sand is darker and a bit ashy, but the beach is relatively clean, and when I visited in August, the water was also clear. Surfing here was an absolute treat. There are beginner-friendly point breaks right by the beach, making it a great place to learn. For intermediate surfers, it’s even better the waves are a decent size, A-frame, and deep enough that you don’t need to worry about shallow reef. It’s the perfect spot to practice turns and ride the face of the wave. Because it’s a popular beach, it does get busy in the lineup. But if you come with the mindset of sharing waves, being respectful of locals, and just enjoying the Bali vibe, you’ll definitely catch some good sets. The breaking points shift, so there are always opportunities to snag a wave if you stay patient. On the practical side, parking a scooter was easy, and surfboard rentals are available nearby. Overall, I absolutely loved Batu Bolong Beach and would recommend it for both surfers and those just wanting to get their toes wet.

Pantai Batu Bolong is where Canggu’s energy comes alive — surfers riding golden waves, locals and travelers gathering on beanbags with coconut in hand. The sunsets here paint the sky in fire-orange and pastel pink, casting reflections on wet sand like a dream. Bali’s laidback magic at its best.

Batu Bolong Beach is such a vibe! It’s the perfect mix of chill and lively, great waves for surfing, stunning sunsets, and plenty of cute spots around for food and drinks. The beach can get a bit crowded, especially during sunset hours, but that’s part of the charm. There’s always something happening, from local vendors to live music nearby. Whether you’re just walking along the shore, catching waves, or grabbing a coconut with friends, Batu Bolong is definitely one of those places that captures the spirit of Canggu.

Having a very beautiful sunset here while I was staying at Aston Canggu Hotel, you have to get there around 5.30 pm and waiting for the sunset which is at different local time everyday. The is a parking area near the beach so you can park your vehicle there.

Beautiful clean beach with great waves- perfect for surfing! Watch out for the guys who hire out sunbeds tho, they are constantly trying to hustle tourists. Had to keep a constant eye on all our things. Recommend getting water and beer from the store 1 min away, you can get 2 beers for the price of 1 on the beach.
