Take my review with a grain of salt, I'm just one person. Far from the best pizza in Denver. But better than some. Probably won't go back, it's a car drive for me and there are two places within a half mile that are significantly better. Again, it's not bad, but unless I could walk there id never go back. Also, it was a little pricey. Got a 14" pizza with 3 (mostly undercooked veg) toppings and a salad for $45 ! Dressing that came on the side was non-emulsified canola oil and cheap vinegar with some Italian seasoning sprinkled in. Also, your dough recipe is seriously lacking on fat. I'd check your oil ratios. It's really dry. Wasn't the worst I've ever had, but wasn't very good. Won't go back on my dime and that's really the issue here. almost $50 for a medium pizza and a shitty salad? Good luck pizza pants.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommend this place! We ordered a pepperoni and sausage pizza, cheese pizza, and meatballs—and everything was phenomenal. We went to Panteleone's because my son wanted to try it after seeing it on an episode of Kitchen Nightmares, and I’m so glad we did. I called ahead to place a pickup order and had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Pete, who is Greek. He was ecstatic to find out we were Greek too, and we ended up talking for about 30 minutes. Truly a humble and genuine guy. The pizza lived up to the hype—Denver’s best, just like Pete says. The crust was cooked to perfection with a taste that was just like biting into homemade bread. The toppings were evenly balanced and generous, and the meatballs tasted just like my Greek mother’s recipe. Pete was so happy to speak his native Greek language with us—it made the whole experience even more memorable. I’ll definitely be stopping by to visit Pete again the next time I’m in Denver.

Google
We had the pleasure of spending time with the owner and hearing his story — such a genuine and memorable experience. It felt more like hanging out with a friend than a typical restaurant visit. When we got home and tried the pizza, we were blown away. The crust might be the best we've ever had. Absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!

Google
This was my second time at Pantaleone’s. The owner greeted us at the door and took our order and got right to work. The pizza was made quickly and it was very fresh. We ordered a small sausage pizza and enjoyed the ratio of the toppings. The crust and dough also had a great texture and deserves its reputation. Overall a very enjoyable experience and I would go again. Very yummy

Google
Ordered the Carnivore on New Year’s Eve and it was awesome. The best homemade sauce and they give you extra on the side. The sausage was beyond good. This place has my business. If you haven’t tried it yet what are you waiting for you will not be disappointed.

Google
Some of the best no frills straight up pizza I’ve had in Denver. Exceeded my expectations right away. Solid bake, good cheese, nice sauce, good quality toppings. Can’t stress the no frills part, just a cool old guy making pizzas and meatballs when o came in.

Google
Visiting from Philly, and was super excited to try it after seeing it featuring on kitchen nightmares, and it definitely did not disappoint. The pizza was wonderful, canoli was delicious, and the owner was very nice and welcoming, will plan on visiting on a future trip!

Matthew A.

Google
Came from Colorado springs to try denvers best pizza and it did not disappoint. The pepperoni pizza was nice and thin. The sauce on the pizza was very tasty and brought the whole package together. Toppings were well placed. Pizza is reasonably priced and much better than those chain restaurants. Definitely worth the visit. Military discount is available. I will be coming back for more

Yelp
I just went here for the first time after seeing it in my neighborhood, and had a great experience. I placed an order for takeout, and the owner (Pete) was super nice on the phone. He said the pizza would be ready in 10 minutes but asked "or is that too soon for you to get here?" which I thought was very considerate. We chatted a bit in the store when I arrived, and he was just the nicest man. He told me a little bit about his experience with being on the Kitchen Nightmares show. He told me Gordon Ramsay asked for his pizza crust recipe, but "since you are a lady I cannot tell you the words I told him", which was amusing! I wish I pressed him more for what he actually said. The pizza was delicious, and honestly, it IS the best pizza crust I've ever had. It was all puffy and flaky, and, I know this sounds weird, but tasted like BREAD rather than just a carby vehicle for toppings. The sauce tasted very herby without being sweet, which I enjoyed. The sausage did taste a little store bought, but it wasn't bad. And it wasn't greasy at all. Another local pizza place I frequent is good but the slices just drip grease everywhere. Happy that I could eat this pizza one handed and without a bib! All in all, between the delicious crust, great flavor, and excellent customer service, I would love to return to Pantaleone's soon. Note: If the owner reads these reviews, would you ever consider having dairy-free cheese as an option? My partner would LOVE this pizza as well, but is allergic to dairy. That greasy competitor I mentioned above has dairy-free Daiya cheese as an option, and really, that's the only reason we go there.

Yelp
After 28 years, I have FINALLY found THE BEST PIZZA IN DENVER!!!! I can't believe Pete has been making pizzas here for 41 years. He actually demanded to know why I waited so long to find him, and all I could say was, "I must have been lost." I cannot tell you how disappointing most pizza places in Denver have left me. So much so that I started making my own. But oh my gawd--the pizzas made at Pantaleone's have THE PERFECT CRUST, THE PERFECT CHEESE/SAUCE, AND THE PERFECT PEPPERONI. The Caesar salad? Fantastic. The meatballs with sauce? Marvelous. I cannot recommend this little takeout spot enough. I only wish they had a restaurant so I could sit down, because taking it home in the car felt like a dishonor to its magnificence. Pantaleone's, forever!!!!

Yelp
Heard about this place after watching Kitchen Nightmares. Came in and was disappointed that the dining area was shut down so you do have to order to go or get it delivered. I ordered a pepperoni pizza and was out in 15 minutes. During my wait I was able to have a nice conversation with the cashier and the chef Pete. The pizza came out piping hot and was very tasty. The crust was dry but otherwise a very good Pizza. Would recommend to anyone in the Denver area.
google avatar

Keyonai N.

Yelp
First of all it's take out/delivery only. More importantly the moment I stepped foot in Pantaleone's I was face to face with my worst nightmare. A mouse. Just running around like he's waiting for his takeout to be done. Didn't Chef Ramsey come here? What a waste.
google avatar

Mark S.

Yelp
Order a pizza to go mediocre Best the crust was semi raw needed to spend probably another half an hour in the oven. Also just didn't taste. Good. People were very nice. Just bad pizza.
google avatar

Nate K.

Yelp
Gave this place a 2nd try after a mishap, I ordered online but Pete said that his ovens weren't warmed up and recommended I get a refund for my order. He offered to have me come back either later in the day or the next day for any complimentary pizza I wanted. Long story short, it wasn't a perfect visit, but Pete cares about his customers and made the unfortunate situation "right". The pizza was a bit underdone but still pretty tasty. He upgraded it to a complimentary large and my co worker came back for seconds and said it was a good pie.

Tim T.

Yelp
A few of us ordered a couple pizza's (sausage & deluxe) for delivery, it came pretty quick by a 3rd party service. The pizza was good, after asking the others that were in the party, we agreed that it was on Pizza Hut quality level, but probably double the price. I'm glad I tried it once. Will not order again. It is take out & delivery only.
google avatar

Jelena L.

Yelp
Honestly, I have no idea why this place gets bad reviews. Feels like people are just sheep because of the show. The pizza is amazing! Crust is super delicious!! The owner became a chef in New York. Had the pleasure to talk to him. We'll be back.

David C.

Yelp
I really wanted to give this a higher rating - I met the chef after shopping at CAKE SUGAR next door, (excellent bakery by the way), and we tried a pie tonight. It is likely my preference for a very thin almost cracker crust that was disappointed by their pie. The presentation was beautiful and the toppings reasonable but that crust...not for me.
google avatar

Patrick E.

Yelp
This pizza smelled so good, I didn't even wait to get out of the door before I started eating it. I even burned my mouth. #WorthIt I walked in, and the owner immediately greeted me, and he was super nice. Told him it was my first time, asked what he suggested, etc. They advertise about having the best dough, and it really is something special. Make sure it's a to-go meal, there isn't any indoor seating. And order more than you think you'll need because you'll want it.

Leslie M.

Yelp
Wonderful salad, but the Nutella and banana pizza was a very delicious ending to the meal.

Stephanie R.

Yelp
The restaurant smelled of cigarettes. You can only get takeout or delivery. I will say the pizza was great, the pepperoni had a great taste. The staff were friendly.
google avatar

Ada A.

Yelp
Delicious Pie, friendly wait staff. Got a sausage pizza with mushrooms and was not disappointed. Would order again.

Yelp
I recently moved to Denver from Brooklyn && my pizza expectations are set pretty high so I was excited to check this place out! I was in the mood for Italian & photos and menu drew me in. I ordered the Roma pizza & Bae ordered the Linguini & clams. I noticed something curious on the menu as I was ordering, "Pete's Pizza Bread" - & I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND WHY NOW!!! The pizza dough & sauce are PHENOMENAL. I am definitely going to order that next time. It's just truly fantastic, the dough is perfect w a lil fluff. I normally leave the crust, but I shamelessly ate the Roma pizza to my face - crust included!! The linguini & clams were great, the portions are awesome and price is reasonable. I'm looking forward to my next visit! oh && friendly psa during these wild COVID times... PLEASE SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL BUSINESSES && give Pantaleone's a go if you haven't!! (: Pete was an extremely friendly guy, food was fantastic. Disclaimer: I had no idea when I ordered that this establishment was featured on Gordon Ramsey's "Kitchen Nightmares" show ..ages ago. Wasn't why I visited, just a fun fact - if you do watch it after, just know that the food is F I R E.

Yelp
Saw them from chef Ramseys show and I had to check if they were still open (most of the restaurants aren't) from the show. I'm also Greek and my father was just like Pete. Work hard love hard loyal and generous but when it came to his ego he was always right. So glad to see Pete got it together! Makes me tear up . What a great outcome Bravo!
google avatar

Megan B.

Yelp
It doesn't look like much from the outside, but if you want some of the best pizza in Denver you have to try this place! The crust has like the tiniest hint of sweetness to it and is perfect fluffy around the outside, but thin on the bottom. The sauce is robust and delicious. I highly recommend the Roma and the Greek pizzas, but pepperoni never disappoints either! AND THE CANNOLIS - please try them! And don't wait until the next day, you want that crunchy shell with that perfectly sweetened filling before you even eat your pizza. Pete's a good dude too! He might give you a hard time, but he's always just playing around. He's actually hilarious when you get talking to him.

April B.

Yelp
Ordered from Uber eats. The baked ziti was extremely expensive, but it was undercooked and flavorless. You can see in the photo that that the cheese isn't even melted. I'm so shocked on the price. Pizza was mediocre. I'm disappointed we ordered from here

Ed M.

Yelp
Pete is extremely convivial and serious about his business. This is one of the best pizzas you can get in the Denver area. The bread, crust is delicate, moist and firm and goes excellent under all of the wonderful red sauce and white sauce toppings he has to choose from. I was working in the area and found his restaurant, small and quaint. I had the choice between a taco stand and his pizza restaurant, and as I am a pizza aficionado, I chose to try his pizza. I have been all over the world and found his pizza excellent . If you go to Google maps to try and find a pizza restaurant, it will tell you that he closes at four and this is not true. Pete works feverishly until 9 o'clock every night to deliver quality pizza and ingredients. He has my utmost respect!
google avatar

Mai L.

Yelp
Denver's best pizza? They have a sign outside declaring that. My co-workers and I decided to go here for lunch. My boss was telling us how it was on one of Gordon Ramsey's show so i was skeptical what to expect. . Place was empty and he was able to accommodate 8 of us and a baby! The guy (I'm assuming the owner) was dry and bossy like a real New York Italian man. Too funny. We order two Caesar Salads. It comes as the head of lettuce with shave Parmesan on it. Delicious and classy. We ordered a cheese pizza and a carnivore pizza to split. The pizzas were smaller than expected for a large. BUTTttt the crust and the Cheese were delicious. If the crust was cooked just a bit longer - I would've loved it. For those who are okay with a softer foldable crust - it's fine.
google avatar

Austin A.

Yelp
Great food and great conversation! Definitely recommend! Pete was awesome and spent time talking with me, making me feel very valued.
google avatar

Renaye V.

Yelp
Pizza, Pete and pasta, how could you go wrong? It's an experience to sit and have the delicious pizza while chatting with the most interesting man on earth! We loved the crust, it's got the crispy edges with amazing cheesy goodness in the middle. The kids raved about the cheese pizza while the adults enjoyed the carnivore. Don't skip the Greek salad either. We will be back probably sooner than later!
google avatar

Yelp
Rispettare la Pizza....UBER Well this place has excellent pizza but using UBER Eats was a Mussolini sized slap in the face. NONE of this is Pantaleones's fault. We ordered around 6:00 and the estates time according to uber was 30-45 min. Over two hours later the pizza arrived ICE COLD after the drive mead 2 stops before us. Now pact to the pizza. We had the Carnivore and it was was de lishes GO ON GO ON you say. The crust is defiantly a top ten (Not that it matters but I lived in Manhattan) All of the toppings we of top quality. This was our first time but not the last BUT the next time we are going to dining in. Respect the Pizza....UBER
google avatar

Kerri P.

Yelp
Good sized portion fast delivery but I asked for extra marinara sauce as I don't like dry spaghetti. I didn't get it.
google avatar

Rayna M.

Yelp
DELICIOUS. If you're a snob about crust then this is the place for you! Very good quality
google avatar

Eli H.

Yelp
I went here when I was driving through to New York and it didn't let me down it was realy good and ngl there pizza is pretty good
google avatar

David R.

Yelp
Decent pizza in a town that finds it difficult to make a good, thin crust like they do in the mid-west
google avatar

Victoria B.

Yelp
In the area , had to try the dough/crust was the bomb ,the sausage was fair, overall good pizza, not the best, and surely not worth 20 for a small pizza.

Tom P.

Yelp
gross disgusting garbage and bad attitudes. Other delicious options nearby are Ester's and Viale, both are consistantly great.

Yelp
My wife and I saw an episode of Pantaleone's on Kitchen Nightmares and thought we should try it as our first Quarantine Pizza during CO-VID. We were impressed!! One of the best new york style pizza's we have had in Denver. The pizza itself was cooked to perfection. Here is why we loved it! Crust: crispy, fresh, great flavor, and not overcooked Sauce: fresh, great flavor and mixture of spices especially oregano I believe, right amount of sauce for the pizza. Toppings: Had the Carnivore Pizza and they were all delicious, fresh, and we especially loved the sausage. Our only critique was some bites of the slices had more of a oregano punch then other bites. So a bit overpowering at times. Other than that fantastic pizza! We will be back for sure and excited to try more items on their menu. Loved meeting Pete! He is a great guy! Do yourself a favor and try the pizza at Pantaleone's you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
During these days of COVID, I look for bright spots and happy things to decorate my dreams at night. No Nightmare here! We called for a pie and meatball side to go and Pete told me "15 minutes." He sounded happy. When I arrived, mask in place, he was the only person inside and knew I wasn't there to rob him. He looked happy and was as friendly as they come. Back at home digging in to dinner, we were happy, too. While "New York" pizza means as many things as "Neapolitan" pizza in Denver, labels don't equal taste. This wasn't the thin, greasy must-fold that typifies the style (to me). No importa. It was delicious! Greek influence adds some substance--plenty of cheese, tasty pepperoni, balanced sauce, and crust with a little oomph. It nails the fundamentals so well that bells, whistles, and high prices aren't needed. I liked the meatballs, but they were missing something--veal, perhaps? When I'm over in this part of town and hungry, I'll be back.

Nova W.

Yelp
I don't usually care about reviews but I can't recommend this place enough, Pete is an amazing chef, he is extremely personable, and had our pizza made from scratch out and ready in probably 10-15 minutes. This place needs more attention.
google avatar

Kelvin M.

Yelp
The pizza itself was very good. In my opinion, it is definitely one of the higher tier pizzas I have had in Denver. The crust was very crispy, and the pizza was absolutely loaded with toppings. We got the Pantaleone's feast pizza (their supreme/combo), and I would definitely order it again. However, the baked ziti was a big letdown. It tasted like it was premade using premade sauce and then reheated. To be fair though, this is a pizza place, and they definitely get that right. If you want a great tasting pizza, definitely give Pantaleone's a try!

Luke I.

Yelp
This place has the best pizza. The crust is so soft and the cheese blends with the crust so well. The ingredients are all fresh so it's not like your usual greasy pizza. Pete was very welcoming and whipped up a large pizza for us in less than 20 minutes. This place is my new go to! Thank you again

Thomas P.

Yelp
Definitely a place to go try if you havent. met the owner and he was very friendly. Pizza was done well and even if you don't like the crust, you should eat it too!
google avatar

Jason M.

Yelp
Good classic pizza. Really good dough recipe. This place was featured on Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares. The dining room is no longer open, so it's only pickup or delivery now.
google avatar

Kayleen K.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch with a friend and was pleasantly surprised.the main dining room was permanently sealed but still had available seating inside. The owner was there and making food - he was so kind and thoughtful when it came to ordering. We had the Roma Pizza, meatballs and a canolli. The Roma was fresh, crispy and the dough was perfect. Very satisfying. The meatballs were juicy and flavorful. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The canolli tasted fresh and was the perfect ending to a fabulous lunch. Great service with a smile and 5/5 food. Will be back, hopes it stays in business
google avatar

Tiffany M.

Yelp
The pictures of the pizzas do not do them justice. The pizzas here are phenomenal! The crust is perfect, thin, chewy, soft -classic NY style! The toppings are abundant and fresh, perfect amount for every slice. I'm never buying pizza from anywhere else ever again. Holy cow my taste buds were blown away!! I almost ate the entire pizza myself!

Sammy A.

Yelp
Super good i when there for my dad's birthday and we had an excellent time pizza is great and the service is outstanding.

Yayo M.

Yelp
Love this pizza!! Just moved near by and been here a few times already. I would recommend calling it in.

Jonathan M.

Yelp
After watching Kitchen Nightmares I had to give it a try...One of the best pizza places I've ever been to...I wish I could go there every day for dinner
google avatar

Silas S.

Yelp
The crust and sauce was delicious, the cheese was slightly saltier than what I was expecting but the cheese complimented the pizza. The service was very nice, the cook held a conversation with me while he made my pizza. Will be coming back.
google avatar

Grace J.

Yelp
This place truly has Denver's best pizza! My fiancé and I popped in for lunch one afternoon and were blown away! The owner was so kind and talkative, you could tell the pizza was made with care. All the toppings were so fresh and you can't go wrong with anything you get there. It truly is a gem!!

Nikki P.

Yelp
This family owned spot has excellent pizza made with love. I always enjoy picking up pizza and my favorite veggie pizza!
google avatar

Micah J.

Yelp
This pizza is terrible, it's like something from a Chuck E. Cheese, it just tastes cold and like slime. I admit I wanted to try the place after seeing it on kitchen nightmares but it was nasty. Definitely will not come back for this overpriced pizza.
google avatar

Prudence D.

Yelp
We watched the Gordon Ramsey restaurant makeover and had high hopes. I imagine that they must have reverted back to the old ways. Our pizza was undercooked and just not good enough to bother returning.
google avatar

Mark C.

Yelp
THE REAL DEAL! The dough is chewy delicious Heaven. If you have been to N.Y and had a Real "Pie", this is perfection! Italian sausage was super tasty! Carnivore pizza was hard to stop eating, so good!
google avatar

Emma S.

Yelp
Tried this place out for the first time tonight. I am so glad I did! Amazing pizza with extremely fresh ingredients. Being from Long Island, it is hard to find good pizza in CO. But since the owner of this place is also from LI, he really gets it right. He's also a genuinely nice guy. I will be going back. Definitely check this place out!
google avatar

Mayshaim T.

Yelp
I would give this place zero stars if I could. Like many others I watch Kitchen Nightmares and wanted to try it out to see if there was any real change to this pizza place. I don't write many reviews but this pizza was SOOO bad I had to take pictures to show how thick and oily it was just like before Gordon came to the restaurant. I ordered a simple large plain pizza. As I have mentioned it was too thick, oily and the sauce was a disaster no flavor what so ever. Also it was quite small for a large. A tiramisu for desert it was soggy it smelled like rubbing alcohol. My husband and I were throughly disappointed
google avatar

Will T.

Yelp
I saw this restaurant on Kitchen Nightmare before and as a fan of Gordon Ramsay I had to come and try out the food after it's run on the show. The owner was really nice, attentive and welcoming. I had the Pantaleone's pizza and an order of 2 sausage and the sausages were amazing. The pizza has a very crunchy crust and it's something I never experienced before in a pizza. I'd recommend coming here and trying out their pizza to get an experience of what Gordon Ramsay had back then!
