This is a quiet place, open and free to tour. It's a monument with sarcophagus and as such deserves respect. There are particularly beautiful and lively sketches all along the walls to admire. And when they raise and lower the flag in the evenings they play the national anthem and expect those passing by to stop and give proper respect. It's a nice thing to see.

Gorgeous old church that has been converted into a final resting place for many worthies of the Dominican Republic. It’s free and open to the public, so stop in and learn a bit of history if you are ever in Zona Colonial.

Rich in history. A lot of famous people who were influential in one way or the other, and who fought for their country are entombed here. The architecture is amazing. Don't miss the eternal flame.

A beautiful historical building, is now a Mausoleum for dignitaries, etc. Worth a visit/stop if you're visiting the city.

The place used to be a chapel but has been turned into a mausoleum of Dominican heroes. You can visit the place very quickly as there is only one line to follow from entry to exit.

What a beautiful place. Mesmerizing architecture and most importantly full of history. Salome Ureña and her husband, pedro Santana, and many other important figures of the Dominican Republic history rest in this museum. The flame is eternally on and it uses coconut oil. The architecture incorporates french, Arabic, Spanish and local touches. The ceiling painting is beautiful with the day of the judgement on the right side and eternal life on the left side. Flags of the armed forces are also displayed including Dominican Army, DR Navy, national police, and other institutions of order. There still some available spaces for tge future heroes of Dominican Republic The entrance is free of cost. There are some local guides who can provide detailed information about museum and visitors can provide a tip of 5 dollars or less if the prefer. I recommend this place.
