Exhibited in an ancient building in Pancoran, China town. I ordered beetroot fried rice, radish cake, chicken feet, and Hongkong Egg tart. To my surprise, the radish cake is super delicious : soft texture, savoury and umami. Chicken feet is ok Beetroot fried rice : the rice comes in appetizig colour and is perfectly cooked, neither soft nor hard. Egg tart is ok.

Pantjoran Tea House is more than just a place to drink tea; it's a cultural and culinary time capsule. Located in the heart of Jakarta's old town (Kota Tua), it offers a charming escape from the city's modern hustle. The experience is a delightful blend of history, authentic Peranakan (Chinese-Indonesian) cuisine, and a serious dedication to tea. The Ambiance & Location: A Step Back in Time : · Historic Charm: Housed in a beautifully restored colonial-era building, the tea house is directly opposite the iconic Vihara Dharma Bhakti temple. The interior is a tasteful mix of dark wood, vintage tiles, and classic Chinese décor, creating a warm and nostalgic atmosphere. · Prime Location: Its position in Kota Tua makes it a perfect pit stop during a tour of the area. You can easily visit the Fatahillah Square museums and then walk to Pantjoran for a refreshing break. · Vibrant Atmosphere: The ground floor is often bustling, with an open front that allows you to watch the lively street scene. For a quieter experience, the upper floors offer a more serene setting. The Star of the Show: The Tea (Spesialite Teh) This is where Pantjoran truly shines. They treat tea with the reverence it deserves. 1. The Famous "Pantjoran Tea" (Teh Pantjoran) This is their signature must-try.It's not just a simple brew; it's a layered tea. · What it is: A visually stunning drink served in a tall glass, featuring distinct layers of different teas and flavors. It's a sweet, strong, and aromatic concoction that is both familiar and unique. · The Experience: The presentation is part of the charm. It comes with a small pot of hot water, allowing you to dilute the strong, sweet base to your preferred taste as you drink, ensuring the last sip is as flavorful as the first. 2. Extensive Tea Selection Beyond their signature drink, they boast an impressive menu of traditional Chinese and Indonesian teas. · Classic Brews: You can find excellent pots of Jasmine Tea (Teh Melati), Oolong Tea, Pu-Erh, and Green Tea, all brewed properly. · Thematic Sets: They sometimes offer tea-tasting sets or pairings, which are perfect for enthusiasts looking to explore different profiles. 3. Traditional Brewing Method Many of their teas are served in the"cheong sam" style or in elegant pots, emphasizing the traditional Chinese tea-drinking culture. The staff is generally knowledgeable and can guide you in your selection. The Food: A Perfect Accompaniment. The food menu is a celebration of Indonesian Chinese (Peranakan) cuisine and local street food classics. It's designed to complement the tea experience perfectly. Must-Try Dishes: · Kwetiau Pantjoran: Their version of stir-fried flat rice noodles is often hailed as one of the best in the city—wok-hei infused, flavorful, and satisfying. · Lumpia Semarang (Spring Rolls): Freshly made, crispy, and filled with a savory mix of bamboo shoots and chicken. · Bakmi (Noodles): Their noodle dishes, whether dry or in soup, are consistently well-executed. · Classic Snacks (Kue): Don't miss out on traditional Indonesian cakes and pastries like Kue Lapis (layered cake) or Bika Ambon, which pair wonderfully with a lighter tea. · Roti Bakar: Thick, crispy toasted bread with various spreads like butter and sugar or chocolate, is a simple yet beloved choice. In conclusion, Pantjoran Tea House is a 5-star experience for its unique concept and execution. It’s a destination that captures the rich, blended cultural heritage of Jakarta in a cup of tea.

The food was ok, just average. The one thing that bothers me is how stinky they are with their seating option and how they blatantly lied to me. When I came here, I asked for 2nd floor seating but they denied saying that its currently reserved for private event. While I ate here, a group of tourists came and they are somehow directed to the 2nd floor without even asking for it. Mediocre food, bad service.

A new experience to enjoy chinese-style tea. They have good choice of delicious foods with affordable price. I love their dumplings (dimsum), will definitely revisit 😊

Serving a series of teas and Oriental dishes, this is a space nice for solo visits as well as meetups. The moment you walk through that door, you enter a time and space frozen in the colonial era. Slow down, savor the process, and experience life with less distractions, and know that this is also an option.
