Papa Re - Trastevere

We had an early dinner here. We shared the caprese salad and my husband had the lasagna and I had the chicken with peppers. We also shared a 1/2 liter of the house wine. Everything was excellent! It was quiet - out of the way and perfect after traveling most of the day to get to Rome.

We had a wonderful meal here at a very reasonable price. The atmosphere was a good mix of locals and visitors at a very reasonable but happy decibel level. The restaurant is smaller and more intimate. The pastas were amazing, the appetizers were fresh, and the wine pairing was very nice as well. The panna cotta was one of the nicest in texture that I have ever had. 10/10 would eat here again, the best meal I had while in Rome.

This little restaurant was close to our stay and is a lovely place to settle for some fine traditional Italian food. The pizza has a lovely thin and crispy dough and it was top tier in my opinion! Do get in on time as the restaurant fills up. We eat early so we could secure a place without a reservation but come later and you might need to wait.

It took awhile to get a table because we chose to wait for one outside but our server Maria was so lovely and grateful that we were so patient. She went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our meal. The pasta (and service!) was so good we came back the next night. Thank Maria and Papa Re! See you next time!

I have firstly discovered this place in January when traveling and returned back in September. It’s nice to have a place in Rome that you know returning there is a guarantee in terms of quality and price. Thank you for the good food and the kind service. I will be certainly back when traveling to Rome again.

It’s a be try small and sweet restaurant, prices are very reasonable. Must try the house wine and fries. The service can be a little inconsistent (forgetting parts of our order) but it is a family restaurant and the warmth and smiles makes up for it.

This restaurant is truly a hidden gem in Rome. The service was outstanding – we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for from the very first moment. The food was exquisite: every dish we tried was full of authentic flavor, made with fresh ingredients, and beautifully presented. The wine was delicious and paired perfectly with our meal. Prices are more than fair considering the amazing quality. My parents were absolutely delighted and left fascinated by the whole experience, which made it even more special for us. We came all the way from Colombia, and we will happily come back ten thousand more times. Highly recommended! ❤️

truly a hole in the wall kind of eatery. homely, delicious italian food. you get the full italian dining experience and i loved it so much i ate there twice tho i only have two days in Rome! the staff were lovely. i was in desperate need for hot food at 10.30pm. they close at 11pm but still graciously welcomed and fed me.
