PapaCrab Boutique Guesthouse

We stayed here for a week as a family (2 adults, a 3-year-old, and a 10-month-old) and were quite disappointed. The biggest issue is the noise. The apartment is next to a very busy road, and the traffic noise is extremely loud inside the apartment, especially at night. Our kids had serious trouble sleeping. Which didn’t gave us a nice holiday feeling. When we raised this, it was not possible to switch rooms and also when we asked to check out 2 nights earlier due to the noise, no reimbursement was offered. What is good to mention is that the reviews on Booking are misleading!, as they combine Papacrab Guesthouse and the apartments, which are in different locations. The high guesthouse ratings create an overly positive impression. In reality, the apartments feel (very) outdated, the WiFi is extremely slow (basic pages barely load), the lighting is poor and the bathroom gives brownish/orange coloured water which we didn’t feel comfortable with to put our kids in bad. Also we had the orange/brownish coloured water once in the kitchen (see photo), which is not hygienic since this is the water you do your dishes in (incl baby bottles). During our one-week stay, we also had to repeatedly ask for fresh towels and new garbage bags. Price/quality absolutely not reasonable. On the positive side, the bedrooms are spacious, and the location is convenient, close to shops and Kamala Beach. Overall, we would definitely not recommend this place for families, especially those with young children who need a quiet place to sleep.

Every space feels open, warm, and inviting, making it easy to settle in and feel at home from the moment you arrive. What really sets Papa Crab apart is the staff. They are genuinely lovely—friendly, attentive, and always happy to help, creating an atmosphere that feels personal and caring rather than transactional. If you’re looking for a clean, well-designed, boutique stay with a laid-back beach feel and exceptional hospitality, Papa Crab is an absolute standout. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Phuket.

We had a wonderful holiday staying at Papa crab guesthouse. The location is fantastic so close to the beach and the shops. Great restaurants in the area and beautiful beaches that have a wonderful chilled vibe! The staff at Papa crab guesthouse were extremely accommodating, happy friendly people that went out of their way to make you feel welcomed. I would highly recommend Papa crab guesthouse to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday with an authentic feel. I look forward to staying there again next year.

This place will always hold a special place in my heart. I proposed to my fiancée here. The owners were able to help me make sure it was the perfect engagement for my little turtle dove. The facilities were really clean, the gardens were well kept, and the stuff was very accommodating. Couldn’t of picked a better location to get on one knee, and pledge my heart to my little love muffin

I recently stayed at Papacrab Guesthouse and had a wonderful experience. Owner Charlie was incredibly helpful and friendly, making us feel welcomed from the start. He helped us out booking an Elephant experience and a taxi to the airport, which was greatly appreciated. The hotel's location is perfect—quiet and tranquil, perfect for a relaxing getaway. While the room was basic and a bit dated, it was clean and comfortable, which is what mattered most for our stay. Overall, it's a great spot for anyone looking to enjoy a peaceful beach retreat!

The room was clean, comfortable. The bed was very comfty and the bed linen soft. They replaced 2 bottles of water daily inside the minibar. The AC worked properly but in my case I dont like when the air blows straight to the bed but better than not having AC. The best part was the friendly and kind service of the owner. He gave me a free late check out because my flight was late. The location is good, there are restaurants, street food, several spa services and one 7eleven close to the place. There is a nice beach area 5 minutes walking distance.

What a fantastic small guesthouse. Set in the heart of Kamala beach near the restaurants and 2 minutes from the beach the hotel has 11 or 12 rooms with ensuite. Whilst the rooms are not huge they are more than enough with a large comfy bed, wardrobes and air con. The shower is spacious and the water pressure perfect. The rooms are very clean.|The most important thing is your host Charles who is the absolute best he is always available to help you. When you enter the premises you cross a little bridge over the koy pond and if you are lucky you will be greeted by one of the cats. There is always time to have a little sit down in the cool reception area. We stayed for a week and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again it was that relaxed. ||
