Papaya Paradise Bed & Breakfast

We had a lovely 2-night stay at this guesthouse accommodation in Kailua, Oahu. The property was beautiful and well maintained, with a small pool in the back yard and a huge lanai. The room was well appointed with air conditioning, a large screen TV, a king sized bed, and a huge bathroom with a shower. There was a pre-existing issue with the bedframe which we had to jury-rig a repair for (hence the four stars for the room), but the owners were very responsive and I'm confident they will be replacing the bedframe before their next guests arrive.

We loved our experience at Papaya Paradise! We had the Mauka room and it was perfect for us two. King Bed, AC, and an amazing saltwater pool 5 steps from your door. Designated parking and full shared kitchen. Quiet and serene. I never wanted to leave! Highly recommend!

Don't think that Bed & Breakfast should include breakfast. I thought so and decided that the price is fare, but finally I had to pay extra 40 USD per day for the breakfast outside. What is called a kitchen is a part of the laundry. Probably someone likes to cook in the laundry but not me. The room is really nice and clean and there is a fridge in the room. Nespresso coffee machine is big advantage as well. So if you really would like to stay in Kahlua and there is no other choice, it would be ok.

Had such a great stay in September. The room had everything I could have asked for and more. I loved how everything I needed was available in my room, from beach towels, qtips, to lotion etc. It felt like a hotel but even better. I really enjoyed the homey vibe. The backyard was lovely as well. I enjoyed staying away from the city for a few nights. You could see the night skies and what a great view it was. Can’t wait to be back. Thank you for being great hosts.

My husband was working on MCBH for a month so i flew out for a week. We spent the week here at this beautiful B&B. Bob and Jeanette are very pleasant hosts and made us feel right at Home. The room was very clean and the water pressure was excellent for those after beach showers! We enjoyed the pool and also the Lanai. The back yard is peaceful and great for enjoying the sun and reading a pool before taking a dip in the pool. Next time we come to Hawaii we will definitely be back to Papaya Paradise 😊

A very relaxing stay for 5 nights - we loved the pool and chilling in the lanai. Also nice to have the coffee machine, ice machine and snacks in the fridge, there are things you can borrow for the beach too like towels, body boards and chairs which was super handy. Jona was always responsive and helpful too. The house is about 15min walk from Kailua beach and 20min walk to the main area with bars and restaurants. The bus to Honolulu/Waimanolo stops 1min away. A great option for a stay in this chilled beach town.

I was just reminiscing about my time here and realized I should leave a review! This was the perfect spot for my boyfriend and I’s weeklong stay in Oahu. The place is laid back, friendly & quiet. Room has everything we could need and was nicely decorated. Close to the beach & Kailua centre. Would love to come back!!

We had another great stay at The PP. Bob and Jeanette are wonderful and made our trip a fulfilling experience. We actually spent more time with them this year because we didn't do a lot of tourist things. We used the pool and enjoyed the mountain views. The room was very clean and airy and Kailua Beach is minutes away. It really was a restful vacation. See you next year!

Papaya Paradise offers an immaculately clean and comfy place to stay in a nice suburban neighborhood five minutes from some of Oahu's prettiest beaches. The two air conditioned rooms in which one can stay are attached to the home of the kindly proprietor, Jeanette, and encircle a jasmine-scented lanai and pool. All of the amenities I needed--sufficient outlets for my electronics, a TV, towels, lots of toiletries, a fridge for my leftovers, free parking--were on hand. If you're looking for a good breakfast, though, you'll need to go into the cute town that's three minutes away.

I spoke with Jeanette and reserved a room for my young child and I. She was very casual and said a check in the mail for a $200 deposit would be fine. Our conversation was very pleasant and I was very excited to be staying there. I offered to pay with a credit card right away, but I was told they do not accept those. I was beginning my work week at the time we spoke. Jeanette requested I mail a personal check. I sent the check in the mail about six days later from the mainland. I received a voicemail eleven days later saying my reservation had been cancelled because she had not received my deposit within ten days. Jeanette never said anything about a ten day limit. Also, I am not sure why she expects a ten day limit when people are likely sending checks from various places in the world. Although displeased with her level of service, I asked Jeanette to please wait on her decision, as I had already put the check in the mail almost five days earlier and we were really looking forward to our stay there. She said she would wait one day for the check to arrive. I thanked her for that and said I hoped the postal service would come through for me in time. I gently suggested she make it clear on the phone to her customers about the ten day rule when reservations are being made, to limit any confusion about that. She responded saying she would consider that for the future and to now consider my stay with them cancelled. I was so surprised at this! I made attempts to be peaceful with Jeanette and even told her I was sorry she felt upset, and I had no intentions of making her feel badly. I told her I was just suggesting it for the ease of things. It seemed Jeanette could not accept she had contributed confusion to the situation, let alone be told that by a customer. I was very docile and non-agressive with Jeanette throughout the whole phone conversation. It is a shame she is so limited with her communication skills and was so defensive. In the end, I think I am really glad we are not staying there. I'd rather find out about this sort of problem beforehand, especially a place as personal and intimate as a B & B! Let's hope she sends my check back! :P

Bob and Jeanette are such sweet, welcoming hosts..very accommodating and will always make you feel right at home! Their home is absolutely breathtaking, beautiful lanai, large back yard and gorgeous swimming pool! all clean and very well maintained. rooms have a beachy design, and everything I could hope for in a B&B. It was nice coming home after a long day and choosing a DVD from their selections in the room to watch on the flat screen. Located in a quiet area of kailua, just a short walk from the beach and a 25 minute drive to waikiki. Truly an amazing place, just paradise! will definitely stay again next time I am on the island!!

This was definitely the most comfortable stay we had for our 10 nights on Oahu. The beds were so comfy, the common seating area was very pleasant and the pool was lovely. With Lanikai and Kailua Beach parks just steps away you can't go wrong. Jeanette had everything you could want available for an ideal beach day boogie boards, hand held coolers, ice packs, beach mats, umbrellas and more. It really felt like a hotel without the crowds. Thank you!

Bob and Jeanette were great. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The location was ideal. The covered patio area next to the pool was very pleasant. I cannot say enough good things.

omgosh! what a great place to stay- Bob and Jeanette were incredible hosts- Bob is a funny guy and the place was very comfortable and clean. i would highly recommend this place to my friends and family. And the rate was incredible btw.
