Great food! Service is a bit slow which doesn’t help the walk-in people to wait longer, but we were lucky and got in for brunch. Highly recommend the avocado toast and the steak! Coffee is great and atmosphere is very cozy

Paper Cup is BACK on top form! The new menu is a banger, curried eggs dish is back and such a fantastic brunch dish, lots of solid options, was hard to decide what to go for, so I will be back to sample it all over the next few Glasgow visits. Coffee on point as always. I hadn’t been back for a few months as the last time I went all the breakfasts seemed a bit simplified. Found myself trekking over east to Mesa for interesting brunch.

A Glasgow staple! Coffee is unmatched, had to buy some beans to take with me back home. The food is always delicious! To top it all off the staff is absolutely lovely and a good chat 😍 It can get busy but there is a reason for it!

A popular cafe, already bustling just 40 mins after it started business 😅 I wished the space had more tables. Food was generous and delicious. Worth the wait. Coffee is on point, love it.

The best french toast I've had in Glasgow! The brioche was so soft and fluffy, the bacon was perfectly crisp, all served in a syrupy goodness that I adore. I also got an iced latte, which was so delicious. The staff was lovely and so friendly, and I will definitely revisit this to try some of the savoury options. There are a few tables inside and some bigger tables outside, though we came early enough to grab one of the window seats inside and it was so comfortable! I only wish the table was slightly taller, but no complaints beyond that!

Best breakfast I’ve had in Scotland coming at a reasonable price. The breakfast bun were phenomenal. The umami mayo plus the fluffy bun made it stick out so much more than other breakfast places. My girlfriend was as impressed as me with her breakfast platter. Would definitely come back asap when in Glasgow!

The food was amazing! I got the winter bowl and my fiance got the savoury french toast - 10/10 for both! Smoothies and coffee were great as well. Will definitely come back to try more. We came here for lunch on a Sunday and surprisingly didn't have to wait long for a table either.

Probably like a 4.5 but rounding down because our drinks took 30 min to come out and only came because we reminded them a couple times. The vibe is cute and was very crowded on a weekday morning! For food, we were happy with the breakfast burger and the stracciatella toast (pesto, strawberry, tomato, ricotta). The bread and other ingredients were really fresh. The smoothie and brownie was just ok Overall would recommend this spot if you're in the area!

This was hands down the best meal we've had here in Scotland. The food here is locally sourced and it was absolutely delicious. The staff were super nice and friendly. I'd highly recommend stopping here for some food! The space is small so I'd suggest getting here early so you can grab a table

I have been to Papercup almost every time I've visited Glasgow and I have never been disappointed. You go to the North of England and it's impossible to get a full English (or something close to it) with gluten-free bread. The solution in Glasgow is to forget boring run-of-the-mill 'full' anythings for breakfast or brunch and go to Papercup instead. I don't even drink coffee, which they are known for. I need to try a hot chocolate here one of these days. My friend ordered an oat milk one on this visit and said it tasted like a dessert in itself. Vegan, veggie, or gluten-free? No problem. Papercup has you covered. I've come here on multiple occasions and requested gluten-free bread without anyone batting an eye. Most American restaurants seem to want to make you feel like a criminal to even ask. My egg omelette on this visit had so many yummy toppings and was so big, bread wasn't even needed. It's a wonder these wizards can make such creations in such a small space! We happened to nab the corner table directly across from the cake case and I watched as our food was made with so much love. A drizzle of sauce, a squeeze of lime...this is the kind of place you want to get behind because they treat you like part of the family. Caveat: this place is small and you'll want to go at downtimes if you can (avoid breakfast/brunch on the weekends, for example) or else you'll be stuck outside waiting for a table to free up. You'll see locals popping in for their usual coffee orders and a muffin, then pop back out. For such a small shop, they have an oddly large unisex bathroom in the back. I remember the first time I had to use their facilities and being pleasantly surprised that it wasn't the size of a closet like you'd find in London. But let's face it, a place like this wouldn't exist in London in the first place, would it?

It's been a while since I've eaten at Papercup, so the menu's changed since the last time I had breakfast there. I see that they've got gluten-free bread on offer (for a surcharge) so they seem to still be a safe option on Great Western Rd. What they do really well, though, is coffee. This is probably in my top three favorites in Glasgow for a good latte. It's clear they care and they put effort into every cup. Always a win in my book!

Papercup is a recent discovery of mine, and I'm partly kicking myself that I've missed out for so long, and partly joyous that I've found it now! First up, the coffee skills at work here are impressive. To give an example, we went in one day and, noticing that the Barista was weighing each dose of coffee EVERY SINGLE TIME she made a coffee, and being the nosey-parkers/inquisitive souls that we are, we asked what weight of coffee she was using for each drink. 'Well, she replied, today it's 18g, but yesterday it was 16g. It really all depends on the weather, the temperature, even things like whether the door is open or not.' Whaaaat?!!! Now THAT is serious coffee business! Then followed more serious coffee chat about the type of grind, hand-grinders and all things coffee. It's no wonder that their coffee tastes so amazing, because the level of care they are taking over producing that perfect cup is intense. I've previously only had coffee or coffee and cake, but in need of proper food today, I tried their savoury menu. I chose the sourdough toast with avocado and tomato. Normally, it comes with feta, but I asked for it without, and the waitress asked me, without even prompting, what I would like instead - some spinach perhaps? Yes please! I love spinach. And it was very thoughtful of her to ask. It arrived quickly and I happily read my Sunday paper while enjoying my healthy lunch. I then ruined my healthy day by having a cake. To be fair, it was carrot cake, so that probably counts as one of my five a day, right? I've previously had the banana, courgette and speculoos loaf, which is delicious. Today I chose the carrot, lime and pistachio loaf. It was nice, but, to be honest, a little bit sweet for my personal tastes. However, I am really appreciative that they have not just one, but two, vegan cakes to choose from. It's so nice to have a choice! Today I also deviated from my normal coffee choice of Americano, and had a V60 filter coffee. It was delicious, so smooth, but surprisingly, I found it was a bit lower in temperature than I would normally like, and I usually let my coffee cool down for some time before drinking it. So I'm not sure what happened there, but just made sure I drank it quickly. No problems there! Papercup is my current go-to reliable coffee place when I want some seriously good coffee.

After all the great reviews this place had gathered from the Elite14 visit, I felt obliged to go out of my way and pay it a visit. Initial impressions were not great I have to say - and I'm actually in two minds about giving it 4 stars because of my ordering experience. I asked for an Americano and the scrambled eggs on toast. The girl serving me mumbled into her pad something about 'mushrooms or pancetta', and I had to ask her to repeat it before choosing the mushrooms. She clearly had the attention span of a goldfish as she asked me to repeat my choice twice more before I left the counter. Not a great start, and it was still early in the day! The decor is in the minimalist, industrial, can't-be-bothered-to-decorate-we-can-do-that-later style, and I don't mind that too much as I take it as homage to Tapa Bakehouse in Dennistoun (still my favourite coffee house) who did it years before. In fact the whole experience of Papercup reminded me of Tapa when they first opened. What saved this review was the food - the scrambled eggs were just perfection, firm and chunky the way I like them, served on a bed of spinach on a couple of slices of pesto-coated sourdough bread. Yum! Not a huge portion and I could easily have eaten the same again immediately, but absolutely delicious. The coffee: My Americano was very good indeed - so fresh you could almost taste the green bean and full of flavour. I would have liked a larger cup to appreciate it more, but sadly it was finished too soon. I don't often pass this way so I'm not likely to be back here anytime soon, but I will return at some point to see how they get on and to try another blend of coffee. However, my heart still belongs to Tapa for the best coffee in Glasgow.

If you are lucky enough to pass by and find a seat inside -- grab it! The coffee is strong and prepared with great care. Let's just say the know how to do coffee!! The baked goods are freshly prepared and compliment perfectly a nice fresh cuppa. The menu changes with the season but you will not be disappointed as the dishes are carefully curated to provide a simple but 5* taste. In summer months don't miss out on their iced coffee with maple syrup-- it's not on the menu so you'll have to ask for it.

Looking to get caffeinated and productive I dropped into this Yelp favourite one sunny afternoon. My first impression was "I can see why they say it's hipster" but, knowing that that isn't necessarily a bad thing, I took a table and ordered an iced latte. It's a nice space, not huge but not claustrophobic either. The wall murals have something to teach you about coffee and are rather pretty. I was comfy enough at my table for one and had no trouble connecting to their free WiFi. I was automatically given water with my coffee, which I really appreciated. Now, that iced latte. I thought I liked iced coffee. I wasn't wrong about liking it, I was wrong about what I considered to be iced coffee. This was rich and smooth and strong and perfect. I actually had to pause for a while after my first sip to contemplate all the other iced coffees I'd had in the past and re-rank them because I now realised I had overrated them all. If I'd had more time I would certainly have stayed for a second coffee and something to eat (the food looks excellent) but sadly I had to go. Not that I felt rushed out, I'm sure the staff wouldn't have minded me staying longer. I'll just have to return as soon as possible.

I spent a year living in Melbourne during which time I spent my weekends trying out as many food places as my wages would allow. Good coffee, poached eggs and avocado became the regular Saturday morning fare. Since then it is fair to say that breakfast has been my favourite meal. So, when I first tried the food at Papercup, I had the feeling I had been here before. Really good coffee (A proper flat white, and not the jumped up headache in a cup a lot of places dole out), homemade bread and killer poached eggs. Even the staff bringing a jug of water to your table as you sit down. This is the Melbourne breakfast experience I had been looking for! On the downside, the place is always hoaching, and the clientele are so hip it makes you want to scream (Seriously, you can't move for dungarees and glasses - and that's coming from me!). It's a small price to pay. Great food, even better coffee and a fight to get a table. This is what breakfast should be about. You may have to wait, but it is worth it.

So, I'm upgrading my review to a 4 after recently visiting Papercup quite a few times lately! The last time I mentioned that the staff were not friendly and welcoming. It's kind of different now and I think they have their game up! Maybe they got some feedback and decided to improve their service? Who knows, but I'm very happy with how they treat customers lately! Full of smiles, giggles and even voluntarily explaining in detail what the specials were for today (since my eyes are bad and I can't seem to read what was on the chalk board lol). Good for you Papercup! The coffee has always been good and it's great to observe them make drinks because yeap, they're good at it. Gian loves their soy cappuccino! He had two cups today. Super caffeinated! For brunch, I had the baked eggs and Gian tried the breakfast bowl! Baked eggs were so filling though wow! The bread that came with it was a bit hard though but it's not bad. My baked eggs could soften it up so no biggie. Gian's breakfast bowl was good too! Poached eggs, kale, some bacon and other veges! Super filling omg I'm still stuffed from everything! The selection of cakes are pretty good too. I had their chocolate banana ganache the last time and I could hear the angels singing in my mouth. I loved it! Haha I suppose it's a 4 star because the place is a bit pricy. £7 for my baked eggs with chorizo? Okkkkkk I guess seeing as it's quite filling but it's not a place to have brunch everyday (to me at least). Coffee everyday at Papercup is a yes for sure though! Hehe

I kinda wish I could lie here and scare everyone away, just so I could keep this gem to myself, but the truth is I'm absolutely in love with Papercup. It's such a cute little (hipster) place, busy pretty much at all times, with lovely staff and great atmosphere. I come here for brunch and every time I leave feeling happy. So far I've had a french toast here, baked eggs and sourdough toast with scrambled eggs & avocado & salmon. All absolutely lovely and beautifully presented. To drink I always get the mocha, which is hands down the best I've ever had. I could go on and on about this place, but I think if you just look at the pictures, you'll get why this is my absolutely favorite place in the West End to brunch that I've come across so far. If you're in the area and see an empty table, pop in, you won't regret! :)

My boyfriend and I used to live in London and head to Papercup whenever we need a 'London' fix. It wouldn't be out of place amongst the hipster hangouts of Shoreditch/East London (think cracked walls stripped of paint and the like). But being Glasgow, it's refreshingly way more down to earth (and offers good value for money!) I always rate a place that has a fairly limited menu - they know what they can do and they do it well. Papercup is one such place. Between us, we had the Papercup baked eggs with spinach, feta, chorizo and served with toast and the salted caramel banana brioche French toast served with Mascarpone. The baked eggs are usually scrumptious but yesterday they were slightly below par. It was as if the spices hadn't been properly mixed in and you kept getting mouthfuls of overpowering spice. The French toast was to die for though. I normally prefer a savoury brunch but Papercup's French toast usually persuades me otherwise. Mmmm. If you're a coffee lover this is the place for you. Coffee is their thing. Grinding their own beans and offering different brew types (e.g. Aeropress) - the menu is pretty technical and it's a relief that the staff know their stuff and are happy to explain/recommend. The only downside to Papercup is that it's small and you can't always get a table. Small, but perfectly formed I might add.

Huevos Rancheros were not what I'm accustomed to since I'm Mexican, but I will say I enjoyed their interpretation no regrets. Ambiance is nice everyone friendly.

I went here today with the lovely Duncan W for a catch up - I tend to have a mad panic when someone asks me where we should go as I list too many places and have too many ideas. Thankfully Papercup popped into my mind and Duncan was also keen, win. I'd never been before. How, I'm not sure. I know they didn't used to do food and I don't drink coffee so many that's why. But now they do food I was super keen to visit. When I walked in, it was a bit like a time machine transporting me right back to Melbourne, as that is how this place feels (as Claire W said!). It's got a seriously cool vibe (some people might use the "h word" to describe it, but I wont), with coffee roasting happening right in store and a lush selection of food offerings. I went for the eggs poached in tomato with spinach, feta and chorizo. Wowsers, this was bloody tasty. Cooked in the smallest area I've seen in my life I really didn't have high expectations (sorry) but after tasting I realised they really know how to do good food in a small space. So their move into food was definitely the right decision! The portion was a good size and came with a couple of pieces of bread topped with what I think was zatar. And it was only £5.50, a seriously reasonable price for such a good meal. I also had a green tea (delicious) and picked up an ANZAC biscuit on my way out. Oh wow, these guys know their ANZACs and it was perfectly chewy like a fresh one should be. This place is heaven. I love it. I want to go back more but fear how busy it must get on the weekend. Topped off with some really lovely company, this was a really awesome brunch.

Last week, Briony and I were chatting about how much we love almond milk and, when I saw her tweeting to ask Papercup if they would consider getting some in, I chimed in enthusiastically. I mentioned that I would also be keen on the option of almond milk in my coffee and I recommended the Rude Health almond milk I use, as it's really creamy and I imagined it would work well. Later that very same day, the people at Papercup reported back with their frothy findings and had bought in that exact product, based on our request and recommendation. It was absolutely amazing of them to cater for their customers so considerately and it makes a massive difference when a place like this pays attention to the opinions of punters and makes the extra effort to give the people what they want. Today, I was in the mood for a nice coffee and the instant office offerings just wouldn't cut it, so I decided to cycle over and pay a visit to Papercup. Google informed me I could cycle there in eleven minutes and I decided it was worth a sunny cycle on my lunch break. My heart sank when I arrived as the girl at the counter shook her head when I asked if they had almond milk, but the guy beside her overheard and opened the fridge to reveal a carton of the wonderful stuff. I could almost hear the stereotypical, cinematic sound of a choir of angels singing - that's how happy I was at the sight of the stuff - it almost glowed gold like the contents of that suitcase in Pulp Fiction. Anyway, I ordered an almond milk flat white, handed over my £2.30 and watched in wonder as they crafted my coffee with an array of apparatus I had never seen before. Never mind your costly coffee chains, this stuff is the real deal. Never before have I had a coffee that tasted even better than it smelled - I didn't even know it was possible to translate that coffee bean smell into the drink itself, but it is and it's good. Perfectly prepared with velvety almond milk, this coffee was a cracker and well worth the 3.4 miles I cycled there and back (ta, Google Maps). I'm so happy Papercup paid attention to the pleas of its punters and their delicious drinks speak for themselves. I'm glad almond milk is slowly but surely making its way into Glasgow's coffee shops and I hope it's here to stay. If you're in need of perking up, head to Papercup and ingest that intoxicating aroma in a cup of quality coffee

Finally got the chance to try here and it lived up to my expectations. As soon as I walked in I really liked the vibe of the place. It was very busy but we managed to get a seat straight away. The interior and style is very different to most other places - you almost feel like you're in someone's kitchen. The menu is quite small but offers good choice - almost too much choice, as everything sounded delicious. After much deliberation I finally opted for the scrambled eggs, smoked salmon and avocado on sourdough toast. It's not a combination I would necessarily put together myself but it was delicious. The bread was fresh, the eggs were creamy and they were generous with the smoked salmon. My boyfriend had the baked eggs with chorizo, which also got the seal of approval. I have to mention the coffee as well - I won't pretend I know a lot about coffee but Papercup's is among the best I've tasted in Glasgow. I have found my new favourite brunch spot and I will definitely be back soon to try the french toast which looked incredible.

Best coffee house in Glasgow. Wonderful coffee, delicious food, friendly staff, competitive prices. I was visiting with my partner a couple of days after attending a Yelp event where the wonderful staff talked us through the roasting process (they roast their own beans on site) and the quality control they put in to make sure you get the best coffee, fresh, each day. That includes varying the temperature of the coffee machine each day depending on how the beans are tasting. I ordered a flat white and my, normally tea drinking partner, decided on a latte. Based on a small sample from during the week at the event, we both ordered French Toast. A bottle of water arrived first. An excellent touch, it's just chilled tap water but visit any good coffee establishment on the continent and you'll get the same. Then my cup of rich, dark, creamy deliciousness arrived. It was delicious and I couldn't stop myself drinking it all before our food arrived, so I ordered a second. Meanwhile my partner was enjoying the latte and eagerly awaiting some eats. The French Toast is served as two thick slices of fresh brioche loaf, dipped in egg and cooked to a perfect golden brown, a generous drizzle of maple syrup and a small dollop of a wonderful yoghurt and pistachio mix which cuts through all the sweetness perfectly. This is a dish for the sweet toothed with the brioche almost custard-like in flavour, and a lot lighter than it looks! Inside it's a low-key looking place, dog friendly and mostly stools to sit on. It is a little bit "hipster" and if it wasn't for the quality of the produce and friendliness of the staff I'm not sure I'd give it much of a look in passing but please don't let any of that put you off. Quite simply, if you enjoy coffee make this the next place you visit. The staff know what they are doing (I imagine if you asked for an off-menu coffee like a cortado they'd happily oblige AND get it right) and the only challenge you might have is getting a seat! Papercup is the type of place that will make me rethink plans to include visiting it, even if it's not quite on my route for the day.

Well hello Papercup! Where have you been all my life? I had heard about this place and it's all been good. Well, for me it just wasn't good, it was pure dead brilliant! It's so cosy, the staff are really friendly and the food is absolutely delicious. When I went in I ordered at the counter and they encouraged me to make myself at home. As soon as I found a seat a wee glass a water was placed in front of me, it was just what I needed. I was a bit flustered and the wee smile and water instantly calmed me down so I knew I was going to enjoy my experience. I ordered French toast with maple syrup and a cup of tea. Well, this is were is gets scrumptious and that wee bit special. It just wasn't what I was expecting, the French toast was pan loaf free. It was delectable, drizzled in maple syrup and sprinkled with pistachios, accompanied with a secret recipe of a creamy nutty concoction. It was sweet and tasty! The tea just wasn't tea it was a pot of loose leaf breakfast tea and it complimented my French toast perfectly. What a brunch?! The guys were really nice and were very apologetic when they asked me to move as a large party of folks came in. It was fair enough as I was sitting myself. They kept replenishing my glass of water and thanked me again for moving. Och nae bother!! I had the coffee grinder behind me, a machine to behold, it's quite a beast but very cool. I could also see the chef working away as the kitchen is very open. You can see how passionate he is about food and this culinary flare comes across in his style. A lovely experience and you probably know what I'm gonna say. Get yerself down there soon because it's worth it.

The definition of hipster. Maybe that's a bit harsh, but it's certainly not far off the truth! To be honest, I thoroughly enjoyed this place! Located on GWR, the perfect location, this glorious wee coffee shop doth quench thy taste buds! Colin and I popped in after some Buchanan Galleries shopping and ordered a cappuccino and an expresso to sit in! The staff in here couldn't be more friendly, even offering to charge my phone when I complained of having 3%. The coffee was delightful as well! I love the hipster decor in here; barely painted walls, odd chairs, bare light bulbs hanging from the ceiling. Wee note: the toilet is well hidden behind a jungle of plants. Just "I'm a celebrity" your way through the flora and you'll find it!

From poachie pots to cappuccinos to die for breakfast is simple elegance at Papercup. It may seem unassuming from the outside, dark store front with steamy windows, elicits thoughts more of the infamous car scene in Titanic than some of the best coffee and bites in the West End. Eggs, Avocado, Sriracha, Toast and Mushrooms; five key ingredients of our astoundingly tasty breakfast there, as poached eggs are lovingly (and inventively) served with a myriad of delicious accompaniments. So if you're in the West End and value a variety without a massive menu then pop to Papercup, get a gulp of that award winning coffee and start your day the right way.

Such a cute little place on Great Western Road. Has a mismatched vintage feel to it and a nice atmosphere. The coffees took a while but that's because they take their coffee making seriously. We were watching the guy and he was going for perfection! Coffee here is strong and my flat white was perfect for me.

What a great experience. Visited with Briony C for a bite of brunch. Somehow this place has been missed by myself and many others. I wish I had found it sooner. If you love you coffee you will love papercup. Firstly and possibly most importantly they roast their own beans. I can say that this is a pretty unique selling point and one that I love. Next up is they serve coffees using an aeropress and also cold press coffee. If you have never tried this it is a must. Next up is the food. They offer what can only be described as the most unusual and awesome brunch menu I have ever seen. I had the salami sandwich which was served on freshly toasted sour dough bread it had feta, hallumi and various other additions making a very well balanced bite to eat. The place itself can only be described well I hate to use the term "hipster" rugged decoration. Food is prepared behind the counter and coffee is prepared before your eyes. There is very little seating in this small establishment so try and catch them when it is quieter. Cost wise it is no more expensive than a dodgy cup of Starbucks. And the food is very reasonable. If you haven't visited your really need too. Head on down and enjoy.

If in Glasgow I would highly recommend dropping in for brunch at Papercup Coffee Company! The coffee was great, staff were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. Both my friend and I made a slight modification to our dishes and there was no issues. Would not hesitate to come back!

So this update is entirely justified! I've been coming here for a number of months now since they first opened. Time and time again the service, product and feel from this place has not just been excellent, but it's been entirely (and I mean entirely) consistent! With the addition of some new tables and seating, which goes with the woody minimalist feel, some quirky artwork and, steady yourselves, the delivery yesterday of their very own roaster, the place has only gone from strength to strength. This is a coffee shop to be reckoned with. It's chilled out, friendly, welcoming, but extremely serious in its devotion to serving a cracking cup of coffee. If you're a fan of good coffee, this is a must!

Papercup was highly recommended to me from the moment I moved to Glasgow, so I was keep to try it out! They do a lovely range of breakfasts, with several veggie options, achieving all this in the smallest kitchen space ever! Lots of eggs, french toast with bacon (for the boyfriend). Really lovely coffee too, and some great looking cakes which I've yet to try. It's quite compact inside so I'd recommend getting there early to be sure of bagging a seat. Cash only.

Really lovely shop with delicious food - however it's a bit small. No fault of their own, of course, but a bit of a squeeze. It's always busy for a good reason though. An excellent little store!

I visited this cafe today due to the reviews. I had the v60 which was terrific. I also ordered the baked eggs with chorizo but wasn't that impressed. I think the dish was overloaded with tomatoes. If I return to the cafe I think I will give the baked eggs a miss.

A sweet tiny cafe with a marvelous staff! I had "the bagel" and an iced mocha. The food was too of the line! It's a 10nminute walk from my place, so I'll definitely be back to try some more stuff!

Love this place,every time I'm there it's just fab,and today I had their fruit French toast,and it was so delicious. I also had an iced latte, also lovely. It's always busy and buzzy in there,and their baked goods are damn fine. It's worth the wait at the door! Just yummy!

Best place for brunch in the West End. I honestly came to this cozy coffee shop 3 times a week. This place is a go-to and once you try it once, you have to come back. I've tried the baked eggs, breakfast bowl, french toast, and avocado toast. The baked eggs fill you up and make you feel all warm and ready to take on the day! The chorizo is really tasty and the toasted bread is a great side. The marscapone french toast was good, but I am not used to the type of bread they used. I am used to the texas toast we use back home but the brioche (I believe) bread was delicious as well. The breakfast bowl was so refreshing. It comes with avocado, kale, hazelnuts, and a poached egg. All the ingredients are fresh and feel good food. And the avocado toast is my staple. It comes with feta, tomato, and I always either add smoked salmon or a poached egg. Everyone is also so friendly and it feels so cozy every time! The baked goods are always on point as well. I love that they offer gluten- free and dairy-free options. I am a sucker for banana bread and anything chocolate related. And last but not least the coffee. I have to say I need at least a cup everyday and I always leave papercup with at least two coffee drinks. The caps are a staple and the perfect amount of milk and espresso. They know how to do coffee art and they do it well. The americanos are my go to and get the job done. And the aeropress coffee is amazing and I only recently became obsessed with them. You can really taste the fresh acidic flavor. It packs a good punch! All in all I will miss this place dearly and we need more of these cozy coffee shops in Orange County. Tip: Try to get there early or at an off peak lunch hour to get a spot. This place gets packed quick!

This is quite a place. It's rushed. It's a bit haphazard. It's really busy. But to be honest they've got the whole local coffee shop thing down to a tea. I popped over specially for breakfast and luckily as I went through the door one table became free. Otherwise I'd have headed elsewhere. Had I gone in five minutes later I'd have joined the line now forming around the door! Staff were very friendly. The breakfast menu is not extensive at all but it's got something to please pretty much everyone. I ended up with French Toast and bacon with a flat white (of course!) Both were so good. The syrup/butter was a bit too much for me as I'm not that into overt sweetness, but it was easy to leave it. So, a really nice place that generates a miraculous throughput through their barely discernible 'kitchen'. And manages to maintain a great price to quality and service ratio!

Best place in Glasgow for casual brunching! Cool, humble atmosphere and some of the best eggs and sour dough on this side of the Clyde! Would defo recommend getting the Mexican breakfast that they sometimes have on special. Not fair how tasty it is. Papercup for the win!

While out and about getting school uniform, and after reading so many good reviews, I thought we'd pop into Papercup for a quick brunch. On arrival to the tiny coffee shop we were just lucky to get a table as a couple was leaving, the place was otherwise full. It has a really eclectic decor with small tables and washed out looking walls. Quite kooky and grungy with an atmosphere typical of the west end. The staff were lovely and accommodating and set our table with fresh water in a recycled wine glass which was a nice touch. For brunch I went with the French Toast with Bacon, Burnt Butter and Maple Syrup. The plate arrived and looked really impressive with huge slabs of brioche bread piled high with bacon and drizzled with syrup. I found that the brioche slices, dare I say it, were too thick!! They didn't get to soak up all of the eggy loveliness and I found that the middle was quite stodgy. Although lovely it would benefit from either slimmer slices or more cooking. Martyn went with the Breakfast Roll with Fried Egg, Bacon and Tomato Relish. It came in a lovely floury roll and the tomato relish was tangy which gave the roll an unusual twist. I couldn't leave without sampling one of the tempting cakes on display, so I chose a Peanutbutter, Caramel and Chocolate type cookie to take away. It was lovely and nutty with chunks of dark chocolate and would have went nicely with one of the many coffees Papercup has on offer. I didn't try a coffee today but I definitely want to try an Iced latte if I'm ever passing. Overall I found Papercup a nice, quirky little coffee shop. I would definitely return if I was in the area by I don't think I'd go out of my way to visit again.

Went here for the first time today, but it's become an instant favourite. It's very hipster, but in a good way. The interior is industrial and quirky, welcoming and relaxed. The coffee is lovely, and they get plus points for offering almond milk as an alternative! They had a nice selection of breakfast food, lighter meals as well as cakes. I was really happy to see that they also had vegan cake options! I had a really lovely courgette and poppy seed loaf. I'll definitely be coming back here soon.

Great coffee shop in Glasgow, Scotland. Fresh menu with excellent brunch menu. Coffee is roasted in house. I had a flat white and then drank it and orders another one. I ordered the baked eggs with chorizo and it was delicious. Great local coffee and breakfast spot on the West End. Lots of vintage shops to walk to around the corner as well if you enjoy that.

Coffee has changed a lot in my lifetime. Walking into the Kitchen with the weekend smell of a percolator. It was plugged into the wall and sitting on the kitchen table. A specific appliance packed away in the kitchen cupboard and only brought out for special occasions. Holidays and Birthdays. And the coffee sucked Then it changed. Coffee became something executives were served by tattooed frustrated artists in boutique surroundings as soft rock played over the hidden speakers as we all cast our minds to the Pacific Northwest. And the coffee sucked. Papercup has ripped up the script. Variations in Grind? - grind your own. Problems in the Roast - get a roaster. Can't get the right temperature? Buy sensors and digital readouts and kit it out the equipment. This is Quantified coffee. The artistry is backed by technology to get you a great tasting cup of coffee every single time. Right in front of you. Same for the food - great items cooked out in the open. As I said coffee has changed and at Papercup it has changed it for the better.

Undoubtedly one of the best coffee shops in Glasgow. Great food, coffee and warm service. Inspired by Aussie cafes that all place as much attention to the food and friendly service as to the coffee. At any time you can choose from around half a dozen different coffees to drink across multiple brew methods. Most of which will be roasted in house on the roaster at the back of the shop. To accompany there is a full brunch style menu with something for everyone along with regular specials. You can even get dessert dishes, the French toast is incredible. The food is enough reason to go even I'd you dislike coffee. The decor is a stylish well-done unfinished look, bare cement and peeling paint that all looks authentic. Theres also a snazzy new murial on the wall that shows the journey of coffee. It's a really relaxed and friendly place where the staff are always really welcoming and you'll soon feel like you belong there. The owner is also there most days, occasionally with his cute dog, so it shows its a passionately run business. The only downside is that everyone knows how good it is now so it's hard to get a seat.

Could this be the best place to get coffee in Glasgow... I love Papercup, I would go here every day if I could. The staff are so friendly and keen to help. There is none of the "we are uber cool aloof coffee geeks" attitude here. Instead they are happy to explain the different coffee and brewing methods on offer to anyone who wants to listen. I had an Ethiopian filter coffee black made on the aeropress and it was amazing. If your used to lattes or flats whites I urge you to give it a try for something different. You will not be disappointed. That said. The flat whites are great to and only £2.20. That's a bargain these days. If it was not enough that they serve great coffee the food on offer is ace to. All cooked a couple of metres from your table. Try the baked eggs with chorizo, I did and was very happy. It was my first tome having eggs this way and they were a great tasty surprise. Don't forget the cake!! Indulgent treats are on offer. The Salted caramel cupcakes and caramel shortbread were what I tried. Both had a home baked feel to them and were very very good. Clearly I like this place. I'm pretty sure you will to. Get yourself along and support a great wee business doing excellent food & coffee.

This place was originally started by the same guys who now run Pena, so its no surprise that their standards are impeccable when it comes to coffee. I always have a simple Long Black, (which is surprisingly hard to get right!) and have never been disappointed at Papercup. Their brownie, made by the holy grail of Glasgow's patissiers, Bakery 47, is a mouthful of gooey heaven. I love the busy, and ahem... 'trendy' atmosphere, though during the lunch rush it can get a bit cramped and manic. Their food was also insanely good the last time I went (I had the baked eggs) but I think they've recently changed their menu...So watch this space!

It pains me to write a bad review of this place as we had a lovely event here but on this occasion it ws unfortunately lacking! We went in for some food before our event and i ordered huevos rancheros eggs and my other half had the tuscan bean soup. Ohhhh if only i had taken the soup then this would have morphed into a 4 star review. I was expecting a salsa base with eggs made in it and for it to be a taste explosion. Unfortunately it was as bland as bland could be. The salsa was chopped tomato on top with a little cooling sour cream and some guacamole on top. I dont really like chunky salsa and especially not just chopped tomato but i was willing to overlook it as the eggs looked tasty and they were on what looked like small wrap like things. So i shoved off the offending stuff and tucked in......unfortunately the eggs although well cooked were extremely bland, no spice (which isnt unusual for me not to taste) but also no real taste from them even after smothering them with pepper. This coupled with the £7 price tag for that and a small apple juice and i felt a little hard done by. Unfortunate as the eggs we had from here previously were fantastic!!

Stopped by for a quick coffee one Saturday morning. The place was very busy so we were lucky to get a seat. Unfortunately that seat was right beside their kitchen and dish washing area. It meant for a noisy and distracted coffee that morning. The coffee was good though and the food looked good. Will be sure to head back to try some food next time. Make sure you have cash as they don't do cards.

Glorious Beatnik Coffee Sipping There's a cool vibe in this patch-work plaster walled little coffee shop and you'll need to get intimate when sitting with the hipster patrons. The floor's been stripped back to its original flaked paint concrete and it looks like they've let a kid loose with a ball-point on the mural on the other wall. But there's nothing childs play about the coffee. An own-roast, fruity little number that reminds me of a 90% cocoa solid chocolate I once had the privilege of savouring. The Xmas sandwich wasn't half bad either, but that may have had something to do with the sneaky slice of bacon I pinched from my other half's fabulously perfect French Toast :)

Oh, Papercup, you make me wish I was a coffee lover. But, alas, when faced with the question, 'coffee or tea?', it'll always be tea for me. Coffee is really where Papercup excels. - Roasting their own beans and serving up skilfully made coffee. Wow! I'll admit that the cappuccino I had at the recent Yelp event was great and it's no wonder coffee lovers rejoice over Papercup. With truly passionate staff and an awesome food menu to boot, it makes for a really great place to chill over a hot drink without falling into the dreaded 'try to hard' hipster coffee scene a lot of people take issue with. Just good coffee and a warm welcome here! It's teeny and a really popular place so you might need to squeeze in at the back as we did. (Not to worry, then you can perch upon the coffee-beanbags! Oh so kitsch!) I had a chai latte and was surprised to be served a teapot full of the stuff! Perfection and it lasted many a cup. The latte was just the right kind of sweet with loose chai tea, frothy milk and a little sugar. All without a hint of the sickly cinnamon syrup to be found in larger coffee chains. Delicious! Oddly, they only have four teapots! Luckily I was finished when they politely asked if they could use mine for another customer. Papercup is a delight to stop by and savour a lovingly crafted hot drink. The buzz from Glasgow coffee lovers is so well deserved and staff really are warm and welcoming. Papercup, I salute you. Although, make mine a tea, coffee loving friends!

This is probably the definition of West End. Free hanging lights, bare walls, and random jungle outside the toilets! Pretty snazzy! I've only recently became a coffee drinker, but I'm really glad Marty wanted to go in here! It is what I can only say is really hipster and raw. I had an espresso and Martyn had a cappuccino - which together only came to £3.80! WHAT!? I'd be lucky to get a tall coffee in starbucks for that! When you first smell the coffee, you get a really strange fruity aroma coming from it, which I loved! Great place, great coffee, great staff! Totally awesome!

Cracking wee cafe, even if like me you're not a coffee drinker. It's not the biggest of places, so getting a seat might be a challenge, but it's definitely worth making an effort to go here. I had a steak sandwich type thing off the specials board and it was brilliant, really tasty, and all of the elements worked brilliantly together. For such a small kitchen the output was great. This was great, but the chocolate brownie was truly outstanding, probably one of the best I've ever had. Crispy on the outside, but really gooey in the middle, I'd definitely come back for this. Although it might need to do a little more for drinkers who don't like tea or coffee I really can't recommend this place highly enough. The coffee drinkers that I was with really liked it, and they know their coffee! Well worth a visit.

I love the Brioche French toast with bananas that has syrup and cream. Perfect brunch! But it best eaten while hot. And I also order a latte, but I suppose it's not very good. The coffee taste is not strong. I will be a regular, for I saw the desserts looks very well and I will taste next time.
