Papi's Birria Tacos Haberfield

One of the best birria tacos in Sydney, without a doubt. The service was quick, but I found it a bit rude. The place is a food truck next to a gas station. It has a Mexican street food-style atmosphere. Very good and highly recommended!

I came here to check out the hype, and I get why people are talking about it. The portion sizes are massive and the food is genuinely great. Super satisfying and definitely hits the spot if you’re starving. That said, everything we ordered kind of had the same filling and flavour profile it’s a flavour bomb for sure, but it can get a bit overwhelming after a while. We visited on a quiet day with barely anyone around, but still waited about 30 minutes for our food. Only one person was working, and while she was friendly, the pace was slow. Still, if you’re craving a big, indulgent meal, this place delivers just be ready for a bit of a wait and a lot of flavour packed into every bite.

Absolutely the best tacos I’ve ever had! The flavors were incredible, everything tasted so fresh and authentic. The staff was super friendly and the service was fast. I wasn’t expecting to love it this much, but I’m already thinking about what I’ll order next time. I’ll definitely be coming back—highly recommended!

I was surprised by the 4.9-star rating. • When we arrived, the restaurant wasn’t too busy—they were serving order #12, and we were #20. • With most orders averaging three plates, we expected a reasonable wait, but it ended up taking an hour instead of the 30 minutes we were told. • Unfortunately, when the food arrived, it was a bit under-seasoned and lacking flavor, which made the wait feel even longer. First time for me a Mexican restaurant that doesn’t quite get guacamole right—instead of fresh and vibrant, it tasted like a paste of thawed avocado. It feels like they’re taking on more than they can handle, and with a little more attention to seasoning and efficiency, the experience could be much better.

Wow! Hands down the best tacos and quesadillas I have had. The food was elite and had so much flavour. The lady that took our order was super friendly and service was great. Crazy good! 🤤

Ay dios mio! This place is yum! I ordered the birria taco pack, and it did not disappoint. You know that the food is being made fresh, cause you have to wait for it.. But I can tell you, it's worth waiting for. The birria taco pack is very fulfilling and tasty. I ordered the non spicy one, but one of the staff offered me the hot sauce on the side to try, legend! The pricing is decent. Drinks are also available. There needs to be one in Western Sydney, but I don't mind the travelling. Will be back again.

Update - last two times including today the tacos were significantly smaller (see comparison pics from first time vs last two times) with less ingredients inside yet remain the same price… such a shame because it was amazing before. Very happy to have found this birria taco place in the innerwest!! We have tried lots of birria tacos in Sydney and this is our favourite so far. It is located in a random spot next to a petrol station on the main road but the food is amazing… Definitely worth making the trip here. The amount of food you get for the price is amazing as well!
