Went in for the “oyster papadeaux” but unfortunately those are no longer on the menu. The happy hour menu is such trash! Great service from Geraldine. She was very polite and attentive. Passion fruit martinis were exceptional! Oysters are crusted with Parmesan and butter… nothing too fancy but tasty. The crawfish dip had no flavor.

Literally amazing. Amazing authentic key lime pie, excellent oysters, delicious shrimp cocktail. The tagliatelle pasta and the etouffee were amazing. Blood orange drink was delicious. Wait staff was exceptionally welcoming. The interior is luxurious and dark, the bar is beautiful. Nice chairs and tables and decor. We sat outside on the patio and it was splendid - surrounded by bushes and beautiful brick. Gorgeous fountain out front. Portion sizes were appropriate, and will worth the price. It's comparable to red lobster but this is a from-scratch kitchen. Was easy to get a table with no reservation, but it did get packed and busy. Saw a table with 14+ people. Bathrooms were immaculate and gorgeous, and smelled good. Highly highly recommend this place for special occasions!!! The person I went with is a key lime pie connoisseur and said it was wonderful and authentic- "a real key lime pie"

The greeter she was not to friendly however we got to our booth, please know there are limited booths, maybe like 4 or 5 next to the bar. The other seating available are tables. Out waiter Mike was friendly, helpful with questions about the menu and he brought everything out quickly. The food is delicious! I didn't like the spinach or beans and rice as it had a sweet hint to it but my steak was cooked to perfection! Drinks are good and strong. Our bill was $290 for the 2 of us. We had 2 appetizers 2 meals 2 extra sides and 2 drinks per person.

This was by far one of the best dining experiences that we have had. It was Mother's Day and the place was completely packed so we asked if they could take us early for our reservation and they said yes if we wanted to sit outside. The noise level was nil as we were literally only one of 2 groups outside so it was very quiet and calm and sunny with the right amount of shade and misters. It was an absolutely perfect day, excellent service and food. Our server was hands down the best server I have ever encountered. He was very attentive, polite and took care of us very well. This was a great experience. I highly recommend coming in and dining.

Yummy! This place doesn’t disappoint and is definitely worth a visit. The service was great and the food was awesome. The drinks and dessert are nice also. They was doing construction on the exterior when I went so be aware of that. I really liked the background music they have here. If you want some good southern food you must definitely come here. Prices and portions are good.

This place was amazing. The atmosphere was casual and comfortable. The staff was awesome and the food was out of this world. Our server David was so helpful and attentive. This was a birthday dinner gift from my mom to myself and husband. Our birthdays are on the same day and we both got an individual dessert on the house. Amazing! The bread was brought first and was really good. Had the hot honey alligator bites appetizer and they were really good. I’ve never tried alligator. Then a side of jumbo shrimp to have with the meal. I got the fillet mignon Oscar with lump crab and white wine sauce with the manchego (Spanish manchega sheep milk cheese) mashed potatoes and broccolini. It melted in my mouth. My husband had the aged ribeye with the same potatoes but got the dirty rice. David gave us a sample to try just to make sure we liked it and it was delicious. I picked the homemade strawberry cheesecake with strawberry drizzle and my husband got the banana pudding in a jar. Phenomenal desserts. There is not one single thing we didnt like. We stuffed ourselves and got the rest to go home. We have enough for dinner tonight in leftovers. I can’t wait to go try again and this time we will try some other stuff and be a little daring. My son is a fish eater so hoping we can take him with us next time. It was expensive but honestly it was all so worth it. I would highly recommend this place for top notch food. Thank you David for your suggestions and help. Next time we visit we will ask to sit in your section.

Google
We stopped by this Cajun spot for dinner after hearing great things, and the food really lived up to the hype. Everything from the oysters to the redfish and gumbo was flavorful and well presented, though the prices were a bit steep, especially for the small cup of gumbo. Overall, the food and service were excellent, but it’s more of a special-occasion place given the cost.

Yelp
Just like every other time we've been there..Absolutely rock solid good and service. But pricy but still worth it.

Yelp
My husband and I went to Pappadeaux's for the very first time for our 23rd wedding anniversary. On the reference from my daughter our service was excellent and the food was equally as good. Thank you you.

Yelp
For my birthday dinner, I chose Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen on Black Canyon Highway in Phoenix, AZ, to celebrate with my family--and what an incredible choice it was! This scratch seafood gem from the Pappas family delivered a festive, flavorful experience that made my special day unforgettable for all the right reasons. From the vibrant atmosphere to the generous portions, fresh ingredients, and our extraordinary server, Audrey (from Boston), Pappadeaux turned our family night into a coastal culinary dream. Walking into this New Orleans-inspired haven, we were instantly swept up by the lively yet cozy vibe--perfect for a birthday bash. The warm lighting, festive energy, and mouthwatering aromas set the stage for a meal that exceeded every expectation. Our table dove into a spread of French Quarter and coastal classics, and every dish was a home run. The Shrimp Cocktail, with its zesty cocktail sauce and punchy horseradish, was crisp and refreshing, paired with buttery garlic bread we fought over to the last crumb. The Naked Atlantic Grilled Salmon, draped in a garlic and herb sauce, was flaky perfection alongside vibrant broccolini. The Grilled Half Chicken, marinated in garlic and rosemary, was juicy and bursting with flavor, but the Manchego potato purée? Absolute insanity--creamy, cheesy, melt-in-your-mouth bliss that had the whole family raving! We kept the party going with the Shrimp Etouffee, a soulful bayou hug over fluffy white rice, its rich, spicy depth warming us from the inside out. The Seafood Tagliatelle Pasta (extra shrimp, hold the octopus) was a masterpiece--jumbo lump crab, shrimp, spinach, and San Marzano tomatoes in a luscious white wine cream sauce that left us scraping the plate. For dessert, the Banana Pudding was an OMG-worthy explosion of creamy, caramelized heaven, and the cheesecake was a silky, decadent dream. Every bite screamed freshness and care, making my birthday feast a true celebration. The real magic, though, was our server, Audrey from Boston. She's a dynamo--sweet as can be, with a dynamic personality that lit up our table. Audrey's knowledge of the menu was impeccable, guiding us through choices with enthusiasm and genuine warmth. She made my birthday feel extra special, checking in with perfect timing, sharing laughs, and treating us like family. Her thoughtful suggestions and infectious energy turned a great meal into an unforgettable memory. Audrey isn't just a server; she's a hospitality superstar who embodies Pappadeaux's spirit. Choosing Pappadeaux for my birthday dinner was a stroke of genius for so many reasons: the food was phenomenal, the portions were generous, the atmosphere was festive, and the service was world-class. It brought our family together in the best way, creating memories we'll cherish forever. From the Swampthings to the live lobster, this place is a Phoenix treasure. I'm already planning my next visit, and I'm telling everyone to run to Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen for their own celebration--or just because! Rating: 5/5 (wish I could give more!) Date: October 4, 2025 Recommend? 1000% YES--make it your next stop!

Yelp
Our friends treated us to dinner for our 32nd anniversary last night! We enjoyed the food and the fellowship! The watermelon drink was delicious as well as the food. Our waitress was on top of everything! They even gave us an anniversary dessert! The restaurant was pretty quiet for a Thursday night!

Yelp
I heard so much about this place being the best Cajun restaurant in the valley and we happen to drive by so we came here for dinner. Saturday 5 P.M. I expected to be waiting but we got sat immediately, which was nice. Restaurant was pretty big and had large number of siting which was good.. But with that also came loud noises from people. Our server was friendly and very knowledgeable with the dinner menu. Started off with dozen oyster and server said it was half blue point and half Gulf. We love blue point and it's been a while since we had some.. Server said he would take care of us and make it dozen blue point.. Well he is off to a good start.. Oyster came and yup nice fresh chilled oyster and it was yummy... Ordered crispy skin red fish & jumbo crab with cup of seafood gumbo and pasta Mardi Gras. Presentation of the dishes were very nice. Plates looked yummy and pretty. My fish was pretty yummy with the skin being crispy added extra touch. But man, that toasted Chile harissa sauce was something else. I never had harissa and it was very unique, flavorful slight tangy definitely not spicy but full of flavor and went well with the fish. Spinach on the bottom was also pretty tasty and full of flavor. Now dish did say jumbo crab but I literally got 2 small snail size crab, very misleading and if the price was high because of the crabs, then I got robbed. Pasta Mardi gras also looked very presentable and yummy. Nice selection of seafood, shrimp was yummy and that andouli sasauge was something else.. Just packed with flavor. The food runner did forget my seafood gumbo so eventually it came out. Small 6 Oz cup full of flavor, good amount of shrimp and sasauge, probably one of the best gumbo I have had.. But when I saw the check and saw how much it was, it actually got me pretty pissed off. $15.95 for a cup of gumbo.. Really? It was pretty dang good but was it worth almost $16 for small cup? No. Maybe I'm getting too cheap as I get older.. I don't mind paying high dollar for amazing food but that cup of gumbo price was little too much. Finished off the dinner with creme brulee and sweet potato pecan pie/with ice cream. Creme brulee was pretty darn good with that slight burnt crisp top. Sweet pecan pie was also pretty darn good. Ice cream was a nice touch with the pie. Over all the food was awesome and service was excellent. But I still cried about the price of gumbo on my way home.. I would definitely come here again food was pretty darn good, but definitely special occasion for me since price is little up there.

Yelp
This is a very popular seafood restaurant so I had high expectations especially since my cousin would tell me all the time that this is his favorite restaurant in Arizona. However, I thought the food was just mediocre and the prices were slightly overpriced Parking was easy since they have a big parking lot Inside was very spacious and had plenty of seating Service was friendly, attentive, and welcoming. They have lunch specials that are served daily 11am-3pm BUT seniors (62+) get to enjoy lunch prices all day! There is a good variety of lunch specials (salads, gumbo, fish, fried seafood, pasta, etc.). Pricing was slightly expensive so expect to pay $22-$30+ even for lunch specials! Got the Pasta Mardi Gras ($29.95) and it consisted of linguine with crawfish, sausage, mushrooms, shrimp, and tomato cream sauce. It came with a lot of linguine and a few chunks of crawfish and several shrimp. The tomato sauce was quite salty and overpowering so it was hard to enjoy the seafood. I tried to take off the cream on some of the seafood pieces and thought the crawfish and shrimp tasted quite bland and could have been more fresh. I felt this dish was overpriced and nothing special so this was 6/10 for me Fried Shrimp Combo ($22.95) was ok. It consisted of fried catfish, chicken tenders, shrimp, and French fries. The fried catfish was a little too fishy even though it was fried. The fried shrimp, chicken tenders, and French fries were nothing special and just tasted like typical fried food. It would have been enjoyable if it wasn't so salty and it was more fresh. This was 6/10. The garlic bread ($6.95) was delicious. It was crispy and topped with garlic butter. I really enjoyed how fresh the bread was and how it wasn't too salty or greasy. This was 8/10. The strawberry lemonade ($6.95) was way too sweet and not enjoyable at all. I had to wait for the ice to melt so the drink would be less sweet. This was definitely a pass for me so this was 6/10 Most likely won't recommend or return unfortunately.

Yelp
Ashley's service was great and improved a disappointing lunch. I hadn't been there since my birthday party in February. So it was shocking to find out they no longer have shrimp and grits - my favorite dish for years. Tried the lunch trout instead. Trout and shrimp were good but the jasmine rice with crabmeat was not in league with dirty rice or their grits. Pappadeux has been one of our favorite restaurants for years so this change is heartbreaking.

Yelp
We took a drive and decided on lunch (actually an early dinner, wow) here. The blue point oysters were tasty! The crabcakes were awesome!! Generous portions of crab, seasoned and cooked to perfection. I opted for the Swordfish and my gosh it was some of the best prepared swordfish ever. Moist and tasty, with a nice lump of crab on top. Topped it with a Voodoo Ranger IPA on tap. Service was attentive, friendly and helpful with special requests.

Yelp
The food was amazing. Had swordfish w crab and dirty rice. Salmon with crab. A steak, poor Boy, alligator appetizer some cocktails and some other dishes. We had a decent size party. Carlos was our server and was phenomenal and provided the best service possible. Our drinks never were empty, our food came in the proper order w perfect timing between appetizers, salad and main course.

Yelp
Great bartender--she made a delicious martini! Almost had to wash dishes though! Update your POS system [oh, the irony]. Lol Grateful to the manager on that worked with me to buy a gift card to fix the issue for them. However, having to buy a gift card [to use a card]-instead of tap was absolutely mortifying!

Yelp
It's been forever since we'd been here, but a friend mentioned it, so the three of us headed out on a Sunday evening. It was around 4ish when we arrived, so it wasn't too busy, but the place is huge, so that didn't seem like it would've been a problem. I will say, by the time we left, it was filling up. The decor is so fun, definitely makes you feel like you're in the Bayou and having some seafood...LOL! For our starters, our friend and I went with the Jumbo Shrimp Cocktails, which were truly JUMBO! I love when they serve the shrimp over ice. The cocktail sauce was perfect, plus they give you a dollop of horseradish, so you can make it your own. Hubby had the Caesar Salad, which looked really good. We also got an order of Garlic Bread for the table and they were soft and garlicky...very good. For our mains, our friend got the Sampler Platter, which is a fried food bonanza...catfish, shrimp, crab, crayfish, chicken tenders and fries. It came with tartar sauce, cocktail sauce and ketchup. I do believe he enjoyed it, since he had a big smile of his face the whole time! Hubby got the Naked Salmon with Garlic Butter and Broccolini. It was gone before I could really look at it!! Since Hubby's Caesar looked so good earlier, I went with the Entree Caesar Salad with Grilled Salmon. It was delicious! The salmon was tender and the salad was dressed just how I like it. The dressing wasn't overpowering, so I could truly taste the fish. Now, just to let you know, Hubby has a slight shellfish allergy (only with hard shells), so he mentioned it to our waitress at the beginning. It's not bad, but didn't want his fish cooked on a flat top along with crab or lobster, etc... After we ordered, the manager came by to go over his specific allergy with him. He just wanted to make sure there wouldn't be any issues. That's the first time we've eaten out for seafood and had a manager do this. When he got his salmon, it had been oven baked instead of on a flat top. That was reassuring and he enjoyed his meal. Now, for our desserts...our friend ate his full of fried foods, so skipped on any sweets...LOL! However, Hubby and I had to get a little something for later. He got his favorite, Key Lime Pie and I got their Sweet Potato Pecan Pie. Sadly, this was the only thing I didn't like. The pecans were bitter and had no sweetness to them. So, I ended up taking them off the top. The "goo" on the inside was tasty, along with the crust. But, the enjoyment of a pecan pie is the pecans...oh well. We did enjoy our meal, the staff was very attentive and helpful, so I think we'll probably head back over there a lot sooner than in the past.

Yelp
Every time I've come here has exceeded my expectations. Took my mother-in-law and her sister here, and we left happier than clams at high tide. The second we walked in, it smelled like the bayou invited us over for dinner. The red fish was probably the best fish I've ever had. And the Old Fashioned? Absolute perfection--smooth, balanced, and the kind of drink that makes you want to slow down and just enjoy the moment. We finished with the pecan sweet potato pie, which was rich, nutty, and just the right amount of sweet--basically, the kind of dessert that makes you forget you were full. Extra gold star to the staff for how graciously they handled my crying 2-year-old--zero judgment, quick smiles, and even a little extra attention to help calm things down.

Yelp
Before I begin my review, just know this: I have a deep love for this restaurant, tied to countless childhood memories. I've been coming here since I was 8 years old -- family reunions, post-road trip dinners, you name it. The service has always been top-notch, and the staff are consistently kind and welcoming. The environment and vibes of this restaurant always give me good energy. Food: We started with the fresh oysters, and holy moly -- they tasted like they came straight from the ocean. In Arizona?! HELLO?!?!?! Wild. But let's talk about the real reason we keep coming back: the fried gator. Sadly, they recently changed the recipe. It's still good, but I seriously miss the old one. The new version puts more focus on the sauce than the gator itself. It's got a spicy kick (which I don't mind), but it takes away from the true flavor of the gator meat. Just doesn't hit the same. I had the Atlantic salmon, which was perfectly cooked and served with broccoli. A squeeze of lemon juice brought everything together beautifully. My friends ordered the fried oysters, the catfish dinner, and the shrimp platter -- all of which were absolutely delicious. I found myself wishing I had ordered the catfish or oysters because they were fried to perfection without drying out. Usually, fried fish loses all its juiciness, but somehow, Pappadeaux keeps it fresh and crispy. Magic. Now let me put you on to this drink: the Watermelon Mango Tango Margarita (blended). GUYS. YOU. HAVE. TO. GET. IT. So, so, SO good -- honestly the best drink I had all day, especially in this heat. We wrapped up the meal with a slice of key lime pie, which they comped for us since they had run out of guava and strawberry syrup for one of our drinks. Super kind gesture, and the pie was delicious. Overall: I love this restaurant deeply, but I'm giving it a 4/5. The change to the fried gator recipe really threw me off. As much as I cherish the memories and everything else on the menu, that gator was the reason I kept making the drive. Still a great spot -- just hoping they bring the old recipe back someday.

Yelp
They're not a lot of seafood choices in the Phoenix area. At least I haven't seen many. This place is huge, but make a reservation if you come on the weekend, they can get pretty busy. The vibe of this place is pretty cool. Obviously, the nautical theme is present and it's really nice. The service is hit and miss, just like any chain restaurant. One time we came here and they were out of Tito's, and there was no one available to shuck oysters. I thought that was pretty peculiar, but that is just a sign of the times. The food is always pretty good, but maybe a little pricey for what you get. Most likely, I will be back.

Michael C.

Yelp
The seafood entrées we ordered were delicious. So were the appetizers we ordered. The ratings on the restaurant and the cost turned out to be true. Bottom line: you get what you pay for. Service was superb. Waiter was able to answer all questions and provide greater description and detail. Reasonable wait time for both appetizers and entrees. The seating for the restaurant provided plenty of options. Bar area looked comfortable, but we sat in the main room. Conversation was easy to understand. Entryway was under some repair or reconstruction, but no problem for patrons to avoid.

Yelp
Pappadeaux is a special place. Pricy but so so good. Tonight I had the grouper with the lump crab and I added a side of the manchego potato puree. Every single bite was chef's kiss. Fantastic service- very attentive and professional and when you walk in you're transported to New Orleans where they know how to do seafood. It's normally packed so snag a reservation online!

Yelp
One of our favorite Cajun spots in Arizona for special occasions. For appetizers, we had a dozen fresh oysters and the Hot Honey Glazed Gator Bites--definitely a must-try! The bread was softer than before but still delicious. For the main course, we had the Atlantic Salmon Alexander with shrimp, scallops, crawfish, and creamy white wine sauce--perfectly cooked. The Pappadeaux Platter was loaded with seafood, and we added extra fried shrimp and crawfish. The Shrimp & Crawfish Fondeaux was fantastic, especially with their garlic bread. We also tried the Seafood Tagliatelle Pasta and Pasta Mardi Gras, both generous portions packed with flavor. For dessert, we enjoyed the Key Lime Pie and Crème Brûlée, which had great caramelized sugar but could've been a bit smoother. Overall, fresh seafood, great flavors, and generous portions.

Yelp
The food had great flavor, but the server, Nordo, was excellent and extremely attentive. It had been so long (at other restaurants) since we have experienced such amazing service, so I had to write a review. For the restaurant, it's nice atmosphere, and the plates are customizable. If you don't want fried food they will do a steamed version, which I appreciate. Thank you for an awesome experience!

Yelp
We just went here for lunch today on the way out of Phoenix. It's one of my favorite places to stop whenever I'm in the area. I've been coming here for at least 25 years because of the amazing ambience and food and have never been disappointed. Today though was a slightly different story. One of my favorite things to get on every visit is blackened alligator, which has been removed from the menu. It was extremely disappointing. Another item I was looking forward to was crawfish or lobster bisque, which they also discontinued. There were three of us so we opted to get a dozen oysters and 3 bowls of seafood gumbo which were and always are amazing. The prices continue to rise, but I guess that is life. We had a total of two bloody Mary's and one lemonade along with the food. With tip $170 which is just starting to get a little pricey for me for lunch. The service was amazing as usual, but I'm not sure if I will always come back to visit every time I'm in the area if I can't get my blackened alligator fix.

Yelp
The food was amazing! The portions huge! Loved the courtyard area. Definitely reminded us of New Orleans. The interior was beautiful. Audrey, our server started out a bit off, but totally redeemed herself. Will be returning for sure.

Yelp
It had been a minute since we had been to Pappadeaux. Celebrating a birthday this was our pick. Three adults, a 6:15 reservation. Arrived 5 minutes early, sat at 6:35. Marshall was our waiter and he was great. No complaints about our service. Beverages ordered. One soda, one ice tea, one margarita. When our drinks were brought we ordered a calamari appetizer. Appetizer took about 10 minutes to arrive, not bad considering at this point the dining area was extremely busy. Calamari picture perfect with a great tasting coating, but..it was chewy and tough. Ugh. Entrees arrive. My husband said his filet Oscar was amazing even though he ordered medium and it was closer to medium rare. I had a taste of the sauce and it was very good. His baked potato huge. Loaded with plenty of toppings. Two average eaters could share this meal and be full and happy. My Grouper,it had highs and lows. It was picture perfect when put in front of me. Large shrimp with a big piece of grouper surrounded by clams, mussels and scallops ( scallop's' used very lightly here) The tomato seafood broth was a little too fishy for my liking. The clams even though large and meaty were again chewy. Mussels good, tender but on the small side, and several had gritty sand. Grouper cooked nicely and the sauce on top was flavorful but the large piece of fish could have used more sauce. I'm sure if I would have asked for more sauce our waiter would have brought a small container. Four large shrimp, nice texture, no complaints. The biggest letdown of this dish was the scallops. It was sweet and tender and cooked perfectly BUT I only had one. One scallop. The best thing about this dish was a total tease. Garlic toast good. Ordered dessert to share. The brownie was large and warm drizzled with caramel and chocolate sauces, topped with vanilla ice cream. Honestly the brownie didn't need the chocolate sauce. It actually took away from the gooey richness of this sweet treat. We'd order again. This dining experience was just average, a little red lobsterish with a higher price tag, nothing horrible but nothing memorable either. $300 for an app, 2 nonalcoholic drinks, 1 alcoholic drink, 3 entrees, 1 dessert. Will we return. Sure. The service and filet Oscar were perfect

Yelp
I finally made it for dessert. I have been eyeing the turtle brownie for a long time. Each visit I would go in with the plan to get dessert after my meal, but ate so much I would be too full to get dessert. This last plan was executed. I went with my sister and we planned to split a meal and order dessert. I am so happy I was able to try the turtle brownie. It was everything I hoped it would be. It could have come out a little warmer but it was still really good. I especially enjoyed the crunch from the pecans. I left very satisfied

Yelp
My husband and I had a date lunch at Pappadeaux's and it was awesome!! The atmosphere, service, and food is great. It is relaxing to where you can take your time eating a fabulous meal and sit while enjoying a drink with appetizers. My husband enjoyed his oysters. They switch out their menus every so often. This was great for us because they had the crab cakes with lemon caper butter sauce. Our main dishes were the Wild-Caught Swordfish with Jumbo Crab and Pasta Mardi Gras. You can't go wrong with either dish because they were a burst of flavor in your mouth and cooked to perfection. Try it you won't regret it!!

Yelp
Extremely high menu prices for food and wine. I ordered an 8 oz serving of Malbec for $20 but was charged $24 for Cabernet. Cute bartender took wine order (one glass) then went around to the customer side of the bar to clean before pouring it. Took 15 minutes to bus dirty tables. Service definitely lacking and not very friendly for these prices.

Yelp
Our server was fantastic . It was a quiet night with only a few tables filled. The food exceeded expectations, and was plentiful. My cocktail was incorrect and took some time to fix. That being said the runners and bussers were all standing around and not paying attention to the server's needs. She was on her own. and there were plenty of them that could have helped. I don't know what would have been if it were busy....

Yelp
I try to visit Pappadeaux whenever I'm in town and it never disappoints . The food was excellence it was my first time ever trying a grilled item and it did not disappoint ! Our server was friendly and very thoughtful even had them split the food for us since we were sharing . And the ambiance great per usual I'll be back when I'm in town

Yelp
Came in for gumbo...the gumbo was served cold. Not good at all. I ordered a glass of vino and the bartender snuck in a $22 glass. Pretty ridiculous and she should've mentioned the outrageous price. I hadn't been here in over 15 years. They have gone way down hill. We will not be back. Sorry Pappadeaux!

Yelp
I walked in craving roasted oysters, expecting sizzling shells kissed by garlic butter and fire. Instead, I got the culinary equivalent of finding out Santa isn't real: Plot twist: the "roasted oysters" aren't roasted in-house. They're Sysco premade, reheated sadness in a shell. When I asked why they couldn't just roast the fresh oysters they literally had on ice, the answer was basically: "Because that would require... cooking." * Service: 10/10. The staff deserves Oscars for delivering Sysco confessions with a straight face. * Drinks: Fine. Like, "your aunt's sangria at a BBQ" fine. * Food: Over-salted, overpriced, and overhyped. Poseidon himself must've been in the kitchen, because every bite tasted like a direct assault from the sea. * Value: Imagine paying steakhouse prices for microwaved seafood. That's the vibe. If you want fresh oysters, stick to the raw ones. If you want roasted oysters, go literally anywhere else with a grill and a pulse. Or better yet, buy a sack, roast them at home, and season them with the tears of regret you saved from dining here.

Yelp
While visiting in Phoenix, since this place had been recommended, we thought let's try it out! I'm glad we did! The place is huge, clean, and upscale. The place was busy, however we were seated quickly. We all wanted to try the Greek salad, which is served table side. It was very good, all ingredients were fresh, and I liked the dressing. I got the wild fresh grouper with lump crab. It was Delicious, and perfectly seasoned with just the perfect Cajun spice. I thought the crab serving was unusually small and mentioned it to my server. He immediately made arrangements for us to get an additional side serving at no extra cost. The crab was yummy and tender and I loved the sauce. For dessert, we shared the key lime pie. It was a huge serving, big enough to share, and excellent. The place is clean, the service is excellent, and we all enjoyed our meals. We hope to come back when we visit Phoenix again.

Yelp
Pappadeaux Seafood is the closest New Orleans ambiance you can find in metro Phoenix. The food is fresh and there is pride in their presentation and service. Getting fresh seafood in the Valley of the Sun is not easy and Pappadeaux delivers a full range of seafood selections. My swordfish pictured below was well prepared and delicious.

Yelp
First time here and I was greeted with open arms and a friendly smile. The Shrimp & Crawfish Fondue and "Louisiana" Seafood Gumbo were packed with flavor and absolutely hit the spot. The Crème Brûlée did not disappoint either -- perfectly done. Big thank you to David for the warm service. Great experience all around!

Yelp
We were on vacation with my brother, sister in law and nephew (my nephew lives in Arizona) The beautiful decor of this Arizona restaurant is peaceful and it gives you a tranquil dinning experience. Upon entering very friendly welcome. This was our first time... Our waiter Mike was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. Most importantly the food was delicious. We've heard about this restaurant and we definitely see why there is a buzz about it. You will not be disappointed with the quality of food. My only concern was the lump crab on my fish was only a tiny little slither and not even enough to taste. The prices are a bit higher than usual but the food is delicious and we also recommend the dessert. We do recommend this restaurant if you're ever visiting Arizona. (We were also celebrating 35 years of marriage.

Yelp
Last visit was over a year ago & I got the jumbo crab legs and pasta, but I was sad to hear they haven't served crab legs since JAN. (Visited 2nd time OCT 2024) I still ended up getting some crab with the crab and spinach dip to start off which was such a flavorful and bomb choice, the bread was so soft but yet crunchy. I love dressing up whenever I come because it fits the dark vibe the restaurant gives off. We got 2 drinks, the espresso martini & garden of Eden (spicy) All of the staff were friendly & highly attentive It was pretty busy and I'm glad we had made reservations we only had to wait about 5 mins. We ordered the house salad, baked potato which had some tasty chunks of bacon. For entrees we ordered the filet mignon, & the fried shrimp & fries. Pappadeaux never disappoints! Can't wait to go back, all the food had lots of flavors.

Yelp
Stopped by for dinner and had a lovely service. I like that I can watch the oysters get shucked right at the bar. Only downside I would say is they were out of a lot of the drinks on the menu. The steak Oscar was prepared well and had great flavor. Overall I'd highly recommended especially if you like seafood!

Yelp
While in the Phoenix area, we had dinner at Pappadeaux's. We had the best waiter, Wyatt, who made us feel instantly at home. His easy going personality and personal attention to us, really made our dinner special. We were given hot French bread and whipped butter before dinner. Wyatt's recommendation of Pasta Mardi Gras was fabulous; large portion, very flavorful and definitely a new favorite. Everything from the service, cocktails to our food was perfect. I would absolutely recommend a visit to this restaurant and see if you can be seated in Wyatt's section.

Yelp
First Timer!! Excellent Wow this place was so much more than I thought it would be. First of all the place inside is gorgeous. It feels good, I mean walking into this restaurant it makes you feel alive it's a romantic but bright classy feel. The food was hands down outstanding as well as the service. I will definitely be back in the future.

Yelp
Great seafood! Good drinks! My favorite is the Papalicious!! Sooo Yummy! I liked it back in the day when they used to have music outside. Our group would hang out for hours. Wish they would bring that back

Yelp
POV for the bar and a dessert only. Stopped by for last drink and a sweet dessert before bedtime. The place is big w/ their own huge parking and very busy after dinner time (9-10pm). It's very happening with the locals. Once you're inside, it feels like you're just getting ready for a fun night out. We sat at the bar and enjoyed our last cocktail from this trip and ordered a sweet dessert and just sat back enjoyed the folks. Great, friendly & attentive bartender. Great big set of menu but we couldn't drink nor eat anymore after eating/drinking elsewhere. Very tempting but have to be next time. And it's very convenient for us since our hotel is 5mins away and next to the freeway too.

Yelp
The food was excellently and the service was even better. Sat at the bar and had a great time. The crab and the etoufee were great. Will go back

Yelp
This place is so nice inside outside. Staff is great. The food is amazing. They have the best étouffée and their catfish is bomb.com. Do not miss out on the shrimp and crawfish fondue you won't regret.

Yelp
This was my first time at Pappadeaux and the food was great. We had a party of 6. We were seated right away. Our waitress Annie was very welcoming and very attentive. I had the fried seafood platter with red beans and rice. There was one mix up with one of our orders and they corrected it and gave us that meal free for the mistake. If I lived in Arizona I would definitely return. Pappadeaux please come to The east coast.

Yelp
I'm from Cali and this place was definitely on my bucket list to try. I'm a pescatarian so let's go. My husband and son actually visited a location in Texas but since I didn't travel with them I missed out. They do have plenty of parking and the parking lot was full. I kind of dreaded it because I knew there was going to be a wait. We were told that the wait would be one hour. My husband was apprehensive at first but I said oh no we're going to wait. They took our cell number and we decided to wait in our car. After about 30 minutes we received a text that our table was ready. We were so happy that the wait was not an hour. Inside was very lively and full of chatter. The music played reminded me of when I was growing up in the '80s. It's was such a total vibe. Jessie, was our server. She was extremely helpful and attentive .She had tons of recommendations. #TeamJessie We started off with the garlic bread which was a delicious appetizer. They gave large pieces of bread and it was crusty and seasoned well. I was bummed because they were out of soft shell crab but I decided to order shrimp and the catfish. It came with fries and I also ordered a side of spinach to make everything look healthy, Lol! My hubby had shrimp and fries. My husband is my designated driver and he ordered a strawberry lemonade. I am the designated drinker and I had the Peach slide card which was a martini. It was very good and had that little kick that I needed. Everything was beyond delicious and seasoned. They totally lived up to my expectations. Thank you so much and hopefully we'll see you soon.

Yelp
So happy that Pappadeaux is in the valley. I believe Pappadeaux is Texas known or at least that's where I had always seen them located, so I was happy to see one in AZ. The staff at Pappadeaux are always friendly and welcoming. They are very well knowledgeable about the menu. The food is consistently good and comes out hot. I also love the classic upscale vibe that Pappadeaux gives. This location also has a beautiful courtyard which you can take pictures in as well.

Yelp
It was just meh. I went for a Lunch meeting on a Thursday. It was constant but not busy. Our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable. She even offered meals specific to my pescatarian diet. I really just feel like I could've made the same dish at home and better. Oh I had the catfish platter. The group ordered the crab artichoke dip and it was good. I like my food piping hot and mine was not hot at all. I didn't want to be the one in the group to cause a fuss so I let it be. The restaurant was clean. It's been in the valley for a long time and I think I've been here before but now I know why I probably won't be back.

Yelp
Food was flavorful and piping hot on arrival. We got the shrimp fondue for an appetizer. Highly recommend! We also got the Atlantic Salmon Alexander to share based on the bartenders recommendation. I failed to get a picture of it but it was amazing. I liked that the seafood wasn't deep fried so felt it was a somewhat healthier option. Busy restaurant with a Mardi Gras vibe!

Yelp
Food - Pappadeaux definitely serves up comfort food, but I found a lot of the menu items to be overpriced for the quality. It almost feels like a Red Lobster with a Louisiana twist, and I'd love to see about $10 knocked off of practically every item on the menu. That said, I didn't have any major problems with the food itself. I think the pricing and quality just don't align for me. I'd love to come back for a date night sometime and try the dinner menu, though, as it might offer a different experience. Service - The staff at Pappadeaux was incredibly friendly. Our waitress was very attentive, providing great suggestions and remembering our orders perfectly. However, there were times when she was gone for quite a while, and the food also took a long time to come out, which was surprising since we went in just before the lunch rush. While the staff was great, the wait times were a definite issue. Ambiance - The ambiance is very fun and lively. It reminded me of the feeling of places like Applebee's or Cracker Barrel from when I was a kid--a kind of nostalgic, bustling comfort. However, there was a noticeable issue with flies. I'm okay with one or two, but there were several hovering around us, which was a bit off-putting and distracted from the overall experience.

Yelp
SO SO SO SO GOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!! I'm sad because they don't serve crab cakes any more! Please bring them back served over the crawfish etoufee!?? Please! Okay anyway, we love this place. We enjoy ourselves and the food every time we've dined here. Service is always amazing! The servers are attentive. Nice! Thorough of the menu. And our cups never got empty. I promise dinner came right out after apps so you're not left fingering the appetizer plate! I love walking into the place. The water features and patio is always beautiful. Kept clean and plenty of room while you wait for your table. Inside is big, pretty and kinda fancy okay! As long as pappadeauxs continues to serve up seasoned dishes.. and great attitudes, we are going to continue to eat here.

Yelp
Visiting from California , I'm must say I was very impressed from the service to our server Phillip. He made sure we was very well taken care of it's hard to get good hospitality during busy dinner time and he did just that. Food was excellent ,I tried to eat everything I could. Lol Start with crab and spinach dip then the fried catfish and red beans and rice was good . Spicy but good.
