We came here during lunch time on a weekday. We were walk in’s and I loved the atmosphere (thought it was super cute). The waiters were super nice and checked in with us constantly. My husband got the shrimp gumbo, I got the fried mix, and we got the calamari plus oysters to share. My mother in law recommended this place and always comes here when she visits Texas. Highly recommend coming here if you are visiting Texas.

First time customers. Amazing, from-scratch authentic New Orleans style food. “Ian S.” our server is the best we’ve experienced of any restraint in the past 6 months!

Our son took us to Pappadeaux off Research Blvd in Austin on Sunday for dinner. This was our first time at Pappadeaux, although our son had been to several different locations many times. It was busy when we got there, but it is a large restaurant, and we were seated right away. There were four of us, so we asked for a booth, and we were given a corner booth with plenty of room to spread out. Our server, Bryan, was very friendly, helpful, and attentive. Since it was mine and my wife's first time, our son went a little overboard in ordering appetizers so we could try a variety of dishes. We got the Crispy Alligator, Fried Calamari and Octopus, and a dozen Raw Oysters. Wow, we loved it all! The large pieces of alligator were tender with a crispy breading, and it came with a very good Creole dipping sauce. The calamari were just as good. We got the medium size for both, which was plenty to share around the table. The oysters were fresh and tasted great. So far, so good! I told our server that I had wanted some shrimp and grits, but it is only on the lunch menu. He went back and talked with the kitchen and told me that they would be happy to make me shrimp and grits. So, I got the Grilled Shrimp & Grits off the lunch menu. There were eight perfectly grilled shrimp on a bed of creamy cheese grits with andouille & sweet corn. This was a great sized portion and one of the best shrimp and grits that I have ever gotten. My wife got the medium portion of Fried Shrimp with French fries. There were at least 15 or 16 nice-sized shrimp that were butterflied and lightly breaded and fried. The fries were not as hot as my wife preferred, and our server quickly got her some fresh hot fries. The manager brought the fries out and apologized. If you like fried shrimp, get this dish! My son and his girlfriend got the Fruit de Mer and a cup of "Louisiana" Seafood Gumbo to share. They loved it! Just look at the photo of the gumbo….it was as good as it looks! We had a great meal at Pappadeaux and can’t wait to go back and try more items on their menu. If you love fresh seafood and dishes made from scratch, I highly recommend that you stop by Pappadeaux and give them a try!

We had a great service and an awesome server. Her name was Katherine and she made us feel very welcome! Along with the hostess was kind and very nice. Thanks again for an enjoyable evening 😊

Google
We bought several appetizers and samples from each one. The food was delicious as usual. Fresh, hot, and well seasoned. My favorite was the spinach and crab dip, then shrimp and crawfish fondue. The waitress Pearlz was on point for the most part. She brought out calamari instead of alligator but was able to fix that quickly. The seafood cobb salad took the longest to come out. I'm not sure why. We had to remind Pearlz a few times that it was missing. Overall, it was a great experience and will definitely be returning.

Google
I absolutely enjoyed my experience at this location! Every single staff member who walked past our table spoke whether it was verbally, with a smile, or a nod. Our server Grant was awesome and didn't hesitate to give recommendations when needed. The food came out hot and it was delicious. 😋 Ordered banana pudding but was informed later that they ran out so I did cheesecake instead and it was so rich and creamy. I guess I'll be back sooner than later for that banana pudding. 😉

Didn’t expected it to be so good. We ordered the ginger salmon entree and wild caught chilean seabass, both were amazing, cooked perfectly. Ohh and their garlic bread is a must try too. Their service was excellent, will definitely be back to try more dishes.

Google
Aymen is always on the spot and offers fantastic service at Pappadeaux's on the northwest side of Austin Texas! I usually get the blackened catfish with crawfish etouffee and dirty rice. It's $23,95 and worth every penny. If you're spending your money somewhere else you might as well come to pappadeaux and get the good stuff. Blackened catfish with crawfish etouffee is absolutely scrumptious. Black and just writ lemon butter on top dirty rice next to crawfish etouffee. Come get some everything in the restaurant is delicious. Do you order one of the fish platters like grouper here comes with almost everything in the restaurant on the platter. An extraordinary dining experience!

Yelp
Mando was fantastic! Every informative and kind would absolutely recommend coming to sit in his section, food came out amazing with his recommendations management came by to table touch which was a nice plus you can ask for him by name!

Yelp
Celebrated my birthday last night at this location and Marc was our waiter. Amazing sense of humor, extremely informative and knowledgeable of the entire menu and all around an outstanding guy! Food was prepared nicely and taste amazing!

Yelp
Delicious, mouth-watering seafood. Fresh, prepared with sides like Pasta Fagoli in broth; warm, crusty garlic bread, and Caesar salad. My server, Alex was quick to respond to our needs. He was well-trained in the nightly Specials. Ambiance was Chicago Speak-Easy style, with brass chandeliers and soft lighting. Prompt service, excellent entrees and a relaxed atmosphere will make this our family favorite for years to come! Five stars from us! Try it!

Yelp
Always fabulous food and service! The Pappas family really know how to run exceptional restaurants! Outstanding decor but due to the popularity, it's pretty noisy. Definitely a repeater for us.

Yelp
Pappadeaux is staple in Austin with multiple locations. It's known for it's Cajun cuisine. Our family had dinner at Pappadeaux as one of the final meals before our house guests leave for Chicago IL. We got their early around 6:30 pm to beat the rush of 7 pm+ diners. Even at 6:30 pm it was pretty packed. Fortunately, we did not have a wait. Just minutes later a stream of folks came through the front door. We were seated by the hostess and greeted shortly thereafter by our server Nate. He was friendly and quickly brought water and fresh, hot bread. Ironically, two of us ordered same thing and the other two ordered the same thing. Catfish was the seafood of choice - 1) fried catfish with French fries and 2) blackened catfish with dirty rice. The blacken catfish, my choice, was exceptional. Everyone enjoyed their meals and felt completely full...perhaps a little overfull. Pappadeax is known for their large portions. The restaurant has a large dining area, a bar and separate private room for special occasions. I love the key lime pie at Pappadeaux, but was just too full to order it. Their cheesecake is also delicious. We left with doggie bags in hand...wagging our food tails.

Yelp
Not that they need any more five star reviews, I just cant ignore the very pleasant dinner that we had on Sunday. Pappadeaeux's interior harkens back to an earlier time when the entire space was designed to project comfort and elegance. Add to that our server, Keshia L., who was a delight and we had a great time. Keshia was completely knowledgeable about all aspects of the menu which we really appreciate. Oh, and the food was delicious and arrived exactly as described by Keshia.

Yelp
As much as I love this place enough is enough! It's currently 3:57. I've been waiting on my online order for almost 40 minutes. You'd think I had a special order or something but no, it's just a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. Yes, I paid an extra 15% gratuity for take out even though they never brought it out and I had to go in and speak to three people about it. Finally someone proceeds to had me the salad which had been sitting on the kitchen counter for god knows how long... no refund in the tip, no sorry we messed up, nothing! I have to make better choices. The costumer service is nonexistent smh!

Yelp
This specific location has gone downhill. Pappadeaux is amazing but not this location. Slow service and way undercooked fish. Ordered a salmon and redfish meal and both were extremely undercooked. The server tries to say o our fish is "sushi grade" and that's how we cook it. lol. Yea right. Have been to several locations including the airports and never had this issue before. Also they forgot the scallops on the salmon meal. They did have a manager stop by to apologize but between that and the extremely slow service I was expecting maybe a little off on the bill but nope. In fact they charged me for 2 rounds of garlic bread lol. I thought they had free bread in years past. I will not be back at this location. It was understaffed, not really clean, and sort of loud for not even being that busy - that had sounds you can hear from their kitchen buzzers or something out into the dining area.

Yelp
Being a south Louisiana girl, sometimes I need that Cajun southern food in my life and this s is my favorite spot for it. Food is always delicious. The decor reminds me of old south Louisiana. Drinks are always delicious and servers are very attentive.

Yelp
We like to go to Pappadeaux when it's in a city that we visit. There have definitely been some menu changes and higher pricing. We started with the Crab and Spinach dip for our appetizer. It was cheesy and delicious. My fried shrimp entree was great. One of our favorite entrees use to be the Cedar Planked Salmon with the corn and shrimp topping. That's no longer on the menu. The service was good. They had just opened for the evening. It's a nice size restaurant which has a bar area and an outside patio area for dining. They have plenty of parking available. They can get crowded you might want to make a reservation first.

Yelp
My wife had glazed salmon at lunch that was terrible. The server ask if rate was OK, my wife said no, she wanted it well done. My wife is a professional chef and knows her food and her taste preferences. The salmon came undercooked and it actually made her somewhat ill. It ruined what was to be a nice day for us. My fried shrimp was "just OK", nothing special. This particular Pappadeaux is not going to be competitive until they fix their kitchen and learn to understand what the customer expects. They clearly did not meet our expectations.

Yelp
A go to anytime I have family in town! Very classy space that can be a good go to for any occasion. I also think they have a party room that can be reserved for larger groups. The server was very friendly and helpful. Came during the Microsoft shut down, so there was a bit of a wait before being seated as they worked to get the computers back up. You get fresh bread while you wait for food. Great addition with our spinach dip. I went with a lighter meal, some salmon with rice and veggies. Delicious! I appreciate the mix of meal selections if you want something more hearty or more healthy.

Yelp
Pappadeaux was soooooo goooooood!!! I'm already looking forward to my next visit to your fine establishment! The restaurant was packed when I arrived. Everything was packaged nicely, and my to go order was absolutely delicious! I especially enjoyed the fried calamari and octopus with marinara sauce. They were so yummy! I'll definitely be back soon to try more of the menu!

Yelp
From start to finish, our experience here was outstanding, thanks in large part to our incredible waiter, Ian . His knowledge of the menu, thoughtful recommendations, and attentiveness made our meal truly special. Normally, desserts steal the show for me, but this time, the Salmon Alexander, my plate, and, my husband's plate, with Pasta & spinach , our appetizer, were the best part. Ian's recommendation were great on the meal, and the drinks. It's always a relaxing and enjoyable experience too, interesting artwork and ambient lighting sets the mood. We loved the new menu items most especially the spicy bread before our meal. If you're looking for impeccable service, fantastic food, and an amazing experience, please visit and ask for the manager Riley. He runs a tight ship, and is on top of his game. Great management!!!

Yelp
The food: the shrimp and trout were good but the truffle potatoes brought it down. They were undercooked and everything just ended up being pretty heavy and buttery. The highlight was the watermelon lemonade actually. The vibe: the kids loved the decor and the kids menus with crayons. I would say it is a pretty family friendly place which I appreciate. Our server was awesome despite a pretty long wait for our food. He was always checking in and doing whatever he could to keep everyone satisfied.

Yelp
Don't sleep on Pappadeaux's like I have. Yes there are several gems when it comes to the Austin area restaurant scene, but this is one that never seems to disappoint. From the menu, to the service, and the portions size everything was better than expected. Went on a Friday and waited 10 minutes for a table of two. After being seated was greeted by our server offered waters. We order the crab and spinach dip as an appetizer, highly recommend with the amount of crabs that was provided for the price. For entrées, we split the Mardi Gras pasta with Alex sauce and the crawfish platter. She was able to divide the entrées into separate dishes, which was appreciated. So much food and of course there was plenty of leftovers. Will definitely go back for happy hour and have an appetite for dessert.

Yelp
I have visited this establishment on several occasions. The food has always been great. I have never had a complaint, except this last time, they forgot to serve me my bread. They did give me a loaf to take with me. The servers are always professional and very helpful.

Brad T.

Yelp
Morally and ethically bankrupt company. **** I beg you to respond. **** How does a restaurant get around taking tips from servers when they don't provide the services of food runners? Do you reduce tip pools on mondays when you dont provide servers with support? Another post said it was "stealing" and I agree. **** I beg you to respond. **** The food for me here is never a disappointment. That redfish wow! i cannot get over how good the deserts are either. Don't think I'll be back ever though.

Yelp
Stopped by this North Austin location yesterday afternoon. Anna at the bar was so welcoming, and extremely helpful. I'm not too familiar with the menu, and just wanted some suggestions . She gave me some good recommendations, it was great. Fun atmosphere, pretty lively for a Wednesday afternoon. They have a HH weekdays 3-6, need to check that out next time!

Harry B.

Yelp
Anna was amazing. She is so sweet, very attentive, just all around the person you want taking your order. Now the food was just delicious. We had the po boy, crawfish, étouffée, and fried crawfish and pasta Mardi Gras. Gumbo baked garlic bread and Caesar's salad and it was all amazing. Texas location is definitely the place to have pappadeaux
google avatar

Berto R.

Yelp
Food was great. Be prepared to eat because their portions are great. Some of the fried dishes were a little heavy on the salty side. But overall we enjoyed our dinner and we'd definitely go back for more. Service was great, attentive and frequent checks. Server was knowledgeable. We didn't like or seats, and they quickly relocated us to a better spot. This particular location is pretty huge. Great for large parties.

Yelp
Came to celebrate my mom's birthday and we had a wonderful experience at this location. Our server Ash was incredible and made sure to check on us often. We had a table of 18 but split up into groups because it was last minute but they were very accommodating. We ordered a variety of dishes which were flavorful, although our Ribeye steak was extremely overcooked. We told Ash and the manager Jasmine came and took care of it which was kind of her because even she agreed that it was super cooked. Overall, I'm glad we celebrated her birthday there because their customer service was immaculate.
google avatar

Arriel N.

Yelp
Food was quick, great, and hot as alway! Our waiter Gabe was great. We went in between lunch and dinner so the restaurant wasn't too packed so we enjoyed being seated quickly.
google avatar

Veronica S.

Yelp
This location had an issue earlier in the day, which delayed opening until 6pm. They also did not have red beans and rice available, which was disappointing. Service overall was good. We could have had a larger table, but it was fine once plates were cleared. Our waiter was personable, and gave accurate recommendations, which were appreciated. Our food was delicious. No complaints. I got the crispy salmon and crab, which was perfectly prepared! I also had a caesar salad, which was good, and the table shared the shrimp and crayfish fondeaux, which was delicious!
google avatar

Kenyata F.

Yelp
The peach drink had a cognac in it...it was potent and very delicious. The oysters were immaculate. Perfectly cooked and excellent flavor. The complimentary bread wasnt cut and was a bit harder than my experiences at other locations not in the state. The server was okay. She didnt smile but wasnt rude. She got our orders accurate. I'm hoping it was just an off day. The ambiance was nice. Like many pappadeaux except with the beat set up that I have seen this far. I ordered grouper with crab and shrimp on top with crispy brussel sprouts The chicken cesar salad and fried shrimp and pecan pie were amazing per the graduates. The pasta made gras was great as usual. Of course all portions plentiful. I would return to this location if I'm back in Austin. Oh and the greeters were very friendly and kind especially the slightly older lady with glasses.

Yelp
Food and service are always wonderful. 34 is a lot for a salad. But it's delicious. I am a regular

Yelp
Ate here on a recent Friday evening with a 7:00PM reservation. Arrived at 6:45PM and was seated immediately. The waiter arrived promptly and asked us what we were drinking, and after a short pause on our part, he quickly recommended the Don Julio Margarita for $50.51...yes it comes with a show a good bit of tequila and a commemorative bottle, ...but really? So we ordered our usual drinks and some water, as well as the Mozzarella Cheese Bites. The Mozzarella bites were perfectly prepared, with a crispy skin and oozing cheese. The accompanying marinara was less than stellar, too tangy and devoid of depth. It kept me from eating more cheese bites. Adding a little heavy whipping cream and some spice would go a long way....This is a large amount of cheese bites, perfect for 4+, a lot for two. My friend ordered the Sampler (fried heaven) and a small Caesar Salad. The fried sampler came out hot, the fish and shrimp were crispy and tender inside, as were the chicken tenderloins, and the fries were good. The plate came with a myriad of sauces; ketchup, honey mustard, cocktail sauce, tartar sauce. The Caesar Salad was a good proportion, and the lettuce was cold, crisp, and with a proportionate amount of dressing. I ordered the Aged Rib Eye and a baked potato. I'll tell you the steak was delicious. Charbroiled, and although slightly overdone (that was actually my fault because I didn't want blood leaking out on my plate and I think they were over cautious) it was still juicy, flavorful, with great marbling. Both the waiter checked back in with me and then a manager came by about the steak. No issue - it was delicious. The baked potato was slightly smaller in size than I expected, but delicious nonetheless, hot inside with the right amount of toppings. Got the Keylime pie to go, was tart and delicious but kind of average. The dining room was not overly busy, but I would say three-quarter full . Our table was clean, the booth was nice. We had a good view of the room and it was not too loud. Often when you go to restaurants nowadays you can't even hear yourself think.; this is not the case at this restaurant. There are a lot of wait staff, support staff, and management walking the floor constantly. I appreciate that. When the table next next-door to us left, it hadn't been 30 seconds and they had cleared it, and there was a young lady there sweeping up beneath the booth and around the booth for any droppings that may have occurred from the previous meal. I can recommend this Pappadeaux's; I think the restaurant is well managed, and the food is solid.
google avatar

David N.

Yelp
I'd give it -5 stars if I could. 11:20 am and a 30 minute wait which is understandable. Except 90% of their tables are empty. This is THE worst managed restaurant in the Pappa's family of restaurants by far. It has been so poorly managed for so long that it is clear management does not care. It is capable of so much more. Last visit and review, I promise.
google avatar

Patrick B.

Yelp
The wait staff was awesome. The food was plenteous, and the shrimp on the Pasta Mardi Gras was the best I've ever had.

Mary K.

Yelp
Food-4 there is no gluten-free option for bread or pasta. So a dip that requires something to dip in it doesn't work for gluten intolerant customers. Ambiance-5 Service 2- lovely people, concerned and gracious. But slow. We arrived approximately 11:40 AM. The four of us ordered one appetizer and four of food. An hour and 20 minutes later, at 1:00 PM we had to leave before our dessert was served. Luckily one member stayed behind to grab it and pass it to us as we were driving away. Just need to speed it up during lunch.
google avatar

Anne R.

Yelp
Went to celebrate 2 birthdays. Ordered a celebratory drink for my son. He was not 21, but TX law states a minor can drink in the presence of a parent. We wanted to celebrate with one drink. I've been there several times & never had a problem ordering a drink in the past. It's one drink with dinner. ONE DRINK. The manager refused to serve stating it was Pappadeaux's policy not to serve minors. We were disappointed but didn't make a fuss. My other son & I ordered drinks, & the manager came back & took away our drinks. He just grabbed them off the table & said the adult was also not allowed to drink for not following their policy. Son shows ID that he's over 21 & we got our drinks back. The manager continued to walk by & watch us throughout the course of our dinner to make sure we weren't ordering or sharing a drink with the minor. That entire experience made for a horrible special occasion dinner. The food is only mediocre, & after that experience, we definitely won't be going back. Not serving the minor was not the problem. It was the whole experience that followed afterwards that made us uncomfortable throughout dinner.

Yelp
As good as I remember from my college days in Houston! The seafood as fresh, the baguettes as perfect, the menu as extensive. Too popular? Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen has earned its excellent reputation for good food and Texas hospitality.
google avatar

AJ A.

Yelp
I had been to another location Dallas Airport and loved the food. We decided to try this location and we were seated right away. The server did not make many recommendations but we did manage to get an appetizer and 2 seafood entrees. Overall the food was good but it took a really long time to get our food. It seemed the like they were mostly getting fried fish orders and it was coming pretty fast, but our food too a long time. We ordered some grilled grouper and Salmon with side of baked potato and carrots. We also ordered Crème brûlée and Keylime pie and they also took a very long time for that. Overall the food was really good but just the wait was longer than expected and so we will go back and let's see what happens next time.
google avatar

Lyla A.

Yelp
We ordered the "value pack for 6-8" last night. It included 8 fish fillets, 40 Shrimp, and 2 lbs of chicken tenderloins. You can customize your cooking style between grilled, blackened, and fried. We got the fish and chicken blackened and the shrimp grilled. It also came with a large container of dirty rice as well as a 1/2 loaf of French Bread, butter and large containers of sauces for the meats. The subtotal is $140 and it was more than enough for 4 adults and 2 kids. We have enough for more meals. I would recommend this meal again. We lhad the order to go and were provided plates and utensils but they forgot the serving tongs and large spoon I requested.
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely pathetic! Will not be back! An old friend and I sat in the bar for dinner. I realize that is my mistake. Bartenders tend bar. They stink at serving food! It took nearly an hour to get our food. They never brought our appetizer at all. When we inquired about our food, the copped an attitude. There is a lot better service, for much better food, at a much more reasonable price. The manager could have cared less. Therefore they got a tip that was far "less" than normal! 0.53 cents! They no longer have to worry about, I won't be back. I have eaten at Pappas family restaurants for 50+ years. That family would be appalled and ashamed!

Malissa A.

Yelp
How do you beat Pappadeaux's Seafood? You don't. Their food is the absolute best. The prices are high but that's the way it goes these days. The food is absolutely delicious. Eat there when you can afford it. Excellent food, Excellent service and lovely, comfortable restaurant.
google avatar

Kerri B.

Yelp
Catfish was very, very, very undercooked even though my friend still ate it. I hope he didn't get sick. I was highly disappointed and their shrimp, half of them were not cleaned and I had to send them back. The shrimp that they brought back to me were also dirty. I did not send those back as I was over it. Mind you that's a very big pet peeve of mine. The crawfish was good even though it also contained fried oysters, which I hate. When I first arrived, I did look at the yelp reviews and I was wondering why are there reviews so low. And then I received my food and now I know why. I definitely will not be returning to this establishment, even though I have loved Pappadeaux's ever since they opened. Such a disappointment.

Yelp
We went here to celebrate my friend's birthday. It was a very large party and we have never been to this location before. It has a very beautiful fountain outside and I really love the aesthetic. Overall, the service was really good and my kids really enjoyed the live lobster tank. Even when I told them that people eat those lobsters. The menu is very extensive and I would say that there's nothing bad on this menu. It seems to be very popular and we have only been here a handful of times. The portions are huge and everything tasted very fresh. It is pretty pricey but in this case I think you get what you pay for. They did have a special crawfish queso and it was very good going down but man that was painful the next day. It was very rich and cheesy so you might want to watch out for too much cheese and any of the dishes because seafood and cheese does not always go together. The roasted oysters were very delicious as well swimming in butter so why would they not be. The cocktails were pretty good. Also, we opted to only have one each and call it a day.
google avatar

Leah L.

Yelp
Half priced oysters? Don't mind if I do. We went for happy hour, and just sat in the bar area. The hostess said we wouldn't have a server in the bar, but we did. Good service. Delicious oysters.
google avatar

Yelp
Everything is good about this place. Food, service and ambiance is great. 2nd time eating here and not sure why we haven't tried it before.
google avatar

Oluseyi O.

Yelp
Sigh! I love Pappadeaux, but I always have issues at this location. Service was fine, but the food was terrible. We started with the spinach and crab dip, it came out lukewarm and watery. The manager said she would have it remade and packed to go and take it off the bill. For entrées we had the pasta Mardi Gras with Alexander sauce. The sauce was 90% oil. It is listed as a white wine cream sauce. There was no cream. Just grease. We informed our server and the manager. The manager said "yeah, that sauce is super oily". Here's the thing, I JUST HAD THE SAME DISH Sunday. It was creamy and very good, but it was also the 35S location. The pasta was remade, it was okay at best. The crab dip still came out, and we were charged for it. Won't be back to this location. Not a fan of excuses and subpar food.

Yelp
This location does not hold up to the typical Pappadeaux standard that I am accustomed to. I've been to this location a few times. Tonight I decided to order to go as its prom season and restaurants are extra busy. I placed the order at 8:11 pm and parked to pick it up at about 8:45 pm. I ordered the Mississippi Catfish Opelousas, a kids catfish meal, a kids fried shrimp and tenderloin meal, blackened boudin and a side caesar salad. I parked in the to go spot, texted my spot number and waited. It didn't take long. The server was nice. She brought my food out and went back to get the bread I asked for. I was a little disappointed that it was cold and felt dried out a bit but it was fine. I drove home about 25 minutes away, sat down with my daughters and started to eat. My Opelousas was the last thing I touched. I took a few bites of the catfish and found a very long black straight piece of hair wrapped around the catfish and a few shrimp. I lost my appetite immediately!! One of my daughter's shrimp wasn't properly deveined. Quite gross! I tried calling about ten minutes before they closed but I didn't get through to anyone to resolve my issue. A manager did answer but we couldn't hear one another. He put me back on hold and the phone hung up. It was about closing time so I understood it may of been bad timing. For the money I spent, I should be able to enjoy my food. I will attempt to call back at opening time tomorrow. I'm very disappointed. Times before when I've dined in at this specific location, it's been subpar. This just takes the cake! My hair is in braids currently. My daughters have extremely curly hair so it does not belong to us. Very disgusting!

Yelp
Dropped in to Pappadeaux for their awesome oyster "happy hour" special (1/2 off oysters) and it was 100% worth it solely for the oysters! Not sure how long this promo may be going on (there was a sign advertising it outside of the restaurant...can't find it online anywhere, so may just be this specific location), but it definitely worked on getting me through the door (M-Th, 3-6pm). Our server, Kendall (not sure if I'm spelling his name correctly, sorry), was awesome, and overall we enjoyed our dining experience - I'd give it a 3.5/5 (rounded up for Yelp). The restaurant itself was spacious and had a nice vibe to it. Everything was clean and open and there were plenty of servers and staff members around. We came for an early dinner on a Tuesday for oysters and appetizers and even ended up ordering a dessert to top it all off. Beyond the oysters and the dessert, the rest of the apps we ordered were mediocre at best. But I would revisit solely for oysters and other items on the menu (their Cobb salad with shrimp and jumbo lump crab is one of my favorite of all time!). FOOD RATINGS: - Oysters (5/5): Nicely sized, fresh, didn't taste like grimy dirt, and served perfectly chilled. The cocktail sauce and mignonette, along with the other sauce I'm not entirely sure what it was, were all tasty and the perfect toppers. - Caesar salad (4/5): Straight forward and tasty. Maybe a little heavier on the dressing than I'd like but overall very good. - Crab and spinach dip (3/5): This was very creamy and I wish it was a little more chunky, but it had decent flavor. Sort of reminded me of an alfredo sauce. The parmesan crostini was okay, I preferred it with bread. - Fried calamari (3/5): This was just okay. Came out sort of lukewarm and not very crispy. The artichoke pieces are large so not fried very well. The marinara "sauce" was more like chunky tomatoes - it was flavorful but hard to really dip into. - French fries (1/5): These were just straight up bad. Tasted like day old fries. Every other fry was hollow as if it had been old and reused. We hardly touched these. - Turtle fudge brownie w/ice cream (4/5): A sweet ending! Would have been better a little bit warmer, but overall fudgy and delicious. The turtle part is almost a bit over the top, as the entire thing is incredibly rich, but it really hit the spot!

Yelp
Service was horrible. R****l forgot the sauce for the gator bites and I had to get up to go find her and remind her - of course the gator was cold by then. My Red Snapper with crab barely had very very little crab as opposed to my wife's same order. Slow service in general. And of course lets not forget the noisy environment. For the price (almost Eddie V's level) it was not at all worth it. Food quality has declined over the years but not as much as service has declined. Drink arrival was very very slow - we felt ignored while she fawned over another table. The only great item was the bread pudding for my grandson's birthday. Likely this was the last time for this place for us.

Yelp
My family and I went last night for my sister's 75th birthday and there was 10 of us. We got there around 3:00 and said they could not sit us altogether. My older niece had called ahead and was going to make a reservation and the lady told her they did not take reservations at the one on research. So, after we got there the hostess asked us if we had a reservation and my niece told her that the other lady told her they did not take reservations at that one. We were pretty upset. Then, the service was good but we were going to order the crab and spinach dip and the fondue and they told us they couldn't make it. It also took a long time to get our food. Also, my daughter had the shrimp and got food poisoning. They have really gone downhill and the prices are way too much. We used to go all the time but will never go back!!!

Yelp
Full disclosure: The adage of under promise and over deliver definitely could be affecting my review here! I wasn't so impressed by Pappadeux's. When told about the place, I expected a more historical pampas room type feel and what I got was more of an exclusive Sizzler feel. The food was pretty mediocre/decent. Not bad. I had the lobster and ribeye and the calamari and it was on par with Olive Garden or red lobster (not that I frequent those joints or would brag about it!;) The overall of service was 3.5-4. Very kind but definitely felt like this is a busy place and you are just another table. Sorry Texas, I'm not a fan of Pappadeux ‍ PS - this should have been a tell - when we arrived to the restaurant we took a picture in front of the sign and an old lady said "what are you taking a pic of that for??!" And walked by mocking the ignorant visitors like they were taking a pic in front of a Denny's or IHOP
