Our server Gilbert was very friendly and professional. He made us feel like we were the only ones he was serving. Very attentive. Sonyta was also very helpful in her recommendations. I highly recommend this establishment for every time of occasion.

Going to Pappadeaux’s is more than just going to a restaurant, it’s an event! The food, the ambiance is so unique. Portions are enough for 2 people so my wife and I usually split something. It can be a little pricy but well worth it! Our favorite is the crawfish combo with fried and étouffée crawfish. Plus we always get the Greek salad! We had a big group with us so I got to taste their salmon, lobster and fried shrimp! Amazingly good. Pappadeaux’s is our favorite celebration location!

Even though we spent here nice time celebrating family event, It isn't precisely expensive but worth and value plus experience, at least once a year with meticulous savings through the year in order the enjoy a place unique in Rio Grande Valley TX and surrounding cities, I mean a true privilege to be here. 6⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, yeap! A plus rating as well.

We went on Sunday; unfortunately, it’s not what it used to be. The menu has changed a lot, and there are few options if you don’t eat seafood, like my husband. They no longer offer onion rings (even though they did before), the mashed potatoes were watery—almost like grits, the bread was hard, and my dish only came with three small shrimp and the wrong sauce. The glazed carrots were just boiled carrots with chopped pistachios on top. My husband ordered a ribeye, which tasted like the steak was frozen and had not been grilled. Overall, it was disappointing, and we didn’t even feel like ordering dessert. The rice you see in the picture was supposed to be dirty.

Delicious seafood! The best! Customer service at its best! Besides being crowded, food came out quickly! Recommended it!

Amazing food and excellent service! I had dinner at the bar and ordered the grilled oysters and the Texas Redfish Pontchartrain with dirty rice, absolutely phenomenal! The oysters were perfectly grilled and packed with flavor, and the redfish was cooked to perfection, topped with a rich, savory sauce that paired beautifully with the dirty rice. Every bite was memorable. Big shoutout to Myah and Jac, who took care of me at the bar. They were incredibly attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect throughout my meal. Their service really elevated the entire experience. If you’re in Pharr, Texas down in the Rio Grande Valley and craving top quality seafood, Pappadeaux is a must. I’ll definitely be back!

Wonderful service by Gabby. Food was delicious, but the more you ate the heavier the seasoning was. I had the steak and added shrimp brochette and couldn't finish the brochette due to the saltiness. My wife's red snapper was awesome to say the least. I was upset that they no longer carry halibut, but was happy with the snapper.

The food was absolutely delicious!! The service was even better never had to ask for a refill! The restaurant was super clean everyone greeted us! I recommend The Mardi Gras pasta ;p the picture doesn’t do no justice you definitely have to check it out! 100/10 recommend !!!

OMG So good!! Shrimp was great Salad was amazing Garlic bread was outstanding!!! There are light sprinkle of chili flakes on the garlic bread. The regular salad was huge. ( next table over had one.

Had a great dinner here! Our server was great and Silas, who wasn't our server but has been in the past, stopped by and was so friendly and welcoming! Ordered the TEXAS REDFISH PONTCHARTRAIN and the Pasta Mardi Gras. The fish did have quite a few bones but overall flavor was great. The pasta is delicious, packed full of flavor and so much seafood! Definitely recommend!

Let me start by saying that we come to Pappadeaux every time we visit TX to visit family for birthday dinner. We come from CA. I really like this restaurant and have left positive review about it. Restaurant was not busy and the ambiance is always really nice. Party of 7. I let the hostess know right off the bat that we were celebrating 2 birthdays. She said she would let our server know. We ordered our usual drinks and apps. They were good. This was my son's first visit he orders the filet mignon. He took a bite and said it tasted funny. I wasn't going to complain.. asked for a box and take it to go but when I looked at it the filet had an odd color..yeah nope. I let the waitress know he didn't like it. She promptly took it away. We finished dinner, we were all pretty full so my brother and sister in law (both the birthday guests) ordered dessert to go. Our table was cleared. I thought for sure they'd come and sing happy birthday. ... nope the waitress drops the check and I take a look.. She charged for the filet mignon that my son barely touched. It's customary to comp food that the client didn't like or eat. I went to the hostess and told her we didn't get the birthday candle or anything. She told me she had let the server know. I asked for a manager, she was very professional and apologetic. Sorry I didn't your name. She removed the filet mignon and comped the birthday desserts too. I wasn't expecting the latter but was very appreciative. The server came back to the table and said "sorry no one told me y"all were celebrating birthdays" okay but the hostess just told me she let her know. I promptly paid my check and tipped the server 20%. My party was leaving and I rushed to use the restroom (since we drove 2 hrs to get here) I saw and overheard the server talking about my party to a coworker and got stares walking out. Very unprofessionaL. FYI I'm a server ... over 20 years. The server never introduced herself by name ...was kinda rude... idk just didn't get a good vibe from her throughout our dinner. Like she was bothered or something... we all have bad days. The manager was super nice and professional... thank you so much for making it right. Pappadeaux failed this time around... Our experience this visit was subpar. Idk that I'd return.

This place never disappoints!!! We had the red snapper and crab special and it's was delectable! Soooo fresh and flavorful nothing over powering. Fresh bread refill without asking. Drinks refilled without asking. Cocktails to die for. Pappadeaux is worth every penny you spend. Honorable mention to our server Freddy provided exceptional service (bar area).

Wow. I loved this place from the get go! Lovely place which had a wonderful atmosphere; and such full tables of people having a great time. I have to mention while it was Lunch time; I did notice Senior's "May" get the lunch menu any time of day. Which is really appreciated!! Our server was great and so were our meals. I got the Pasta Mardi Gras, don't remember what my husband got, but we were both very happy! And we even decided to have an appetizer. It also was amazing. I don't know why I haven't visited a Pappadeauxs for a while, we will fix that problem. Their servings were very generous. We loved it all!

My server Chapa was so accommodating! He offered wonderful suggestions and introduced me to the garlic bread which is my new favorite. I always love eating here and he made this experience so special. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and recipes and kept us laughing. My favorite place to eat, nothing in the RGV beats pappadeaux.

Sat at the bar and the bartender was very friendly! Had a few vodka drinks and decided to get the ginger salmon and it was a delicious healthy option! Great sauce and salmon cooked perfectly medium rare!

I'm disappointed that they are getting rid of the crab cake, but they have plenty of other great options on the menu.. next time I'm going for the Mardi Gras pasta

I was saddened that the bread pudding went away, but their food never disappoints. I opted for the Rainbow Trout...very nice!

Had a great time for Father's Day. Staff was friendly and helpful from the time I arrived. We had the ginger salmon, food was good as usual. The only negative was that they were out of several side dishes but can be over looked for such a busy day and arriving late for dinner

Been going to Pappadeaux many years now. No complaints. Food is always good as well as their service. They give you a loaf of soft white warm bread with butter before your meal, so good! I usually have the bacon wrapped shrimp over rice. Stop by check it out.

So overpriced and not good. Deep fried king crab with breading?? Ugh! 20 burger?? No thanks.

I've been to Texas a few times but this was my first time eating at Pappadeaux. Came here while in town for a date night with my husband. We've always heard great things about this restaurant and turns out the hype was real. The food was delicious! Appetizers: We ordered the mozzarella cheese bites, Louisiana shrimp gumbo and lobster bisque. Entrees: I ordered the shrimp brochette which consisted of char-grilled bacon-wrapped shrimp filled with Monterey Jack cheese & a jalapeño, with red beans & rice. My husband ordered the seared Atlantic salmon and jumbo shrimp with rice. Dessert: We received a complimentary dessert since it was our first time dinning there. I choose the cheesecake. I was expecting a small slice but it was enough for 5 people. Great food and good service.

The service was exceptional. We were reading at the door, and immediately escorted to our table. Soon, we were brought water menus and asked if we had any drink orders. As it was fat Tuesday, I had a signature drink that came with a glass and Mardi Gras color beads. Soon, our server came and asked if there was an appetizer we would like and we ordered the calamari octopus appetizer. our server, then gave us a few more minutes to finish reading the menu. When she returned, we placed our dinner order. Soon she returned with our appetizer, which was delicious. Another server brought us a small loaf of what appeared to be French style bread. And two small plates of butter one for each of us. After the appetizer, we received Caesar salad. No anchovies were offered nor asked for, and none were in the salad. Upon completion of our salad and the removal of our used plates another person appeared and refilled her water glasses. Soon, our main server returned with another server to present us with our dinner choices. my companion had grouper with lump crab served with sautéed and caramelized carrots (still slightly al dente). I was served a 16 ounce rib steak will help bone for an up. Charge a live 1 pound main lobster. There was so much food that both of us requested and received To Go boxes. Overall, the service was wonderful. The drink was amazing the food excellent. Although, pricey, I felt we had received a superb dining experience. Which was reflected in my tip. In conclusion, I would highly recommend this establishment!

We try to stay away from chain restaurants, with the exception of this place. Always quality, always fresh, and the menu of course is outstanding. We have never had a bad meal, or experience. For anyone whining about the prices, you get what you pay for.

Expensive but prolly the place for good seafood options. Service has always been attentive and professional. I will say food is more on the salty side so definitely attention this to your waiters about easing of the salt if your on a low sodium diet. The crispy salmon and scallop entree was great!!! Been awhile I had salmon that tasty and the scallops were on point. Seafood Cobb salad all time favorite.

Daniella is hot. Smoking. She was my bartender. Hot dog, man. I died and went to heaven upon locking eyes with her. I was on cloud 9 so hard, I don't even know what I ordered. Scared to go back, I might faint if I see her. You'll know when you see her so be careful when you walk around. I don't want you to faint or get in trouble with your girl for staring.

Came here on a past visit to Mcallen with a few of my friends while I was there on a business trip. They happened to order the crab cakes which I thought was just okay. My friend order a pasta dish that had blue crab. The pasta dish was littered with crab shells which made the dish hard to eat or inedible. She powered on like a trooper and finished the dish without saying a word good thing it wasn't the dish I ordered. Sad part about all this since a good amount of time has passed and the meal not being memorable I don't even recall what I had. The dish was neither spectacular nor was it terrible which is why they received a 3 star rating. The service was quite attentive as when the drink were close to being empty they would right away come from no where and bring a refill. Overall likely I won't be visiting this restaurant chain in the foreseeable future

Best service every restaurant's locations I've been to and food is always on point. Price is not cheap but not outrageous. Portions are perfect for what your money's worth. Never had I have I had a bad experience at any locations.

I went for a birthday dinner there at a table for seven. It was my birthday and I chose this restaurant because of its stellar reputation and the history of good experiences I've had there in the past. This time was an outstanding disappointment. First, the drink service was late. When my drink arrived the ice had already melted for the most part. Second, getting refills of drinks seemed like an impossibility. I had to flag down the waitress (it seemed like she moved in slow motion), ask for a new drink and wait quite a while before it came. The food was terrible. I ordered one of the most expensive things on the menu (lobster tail), and the plate was cold when it was served. So was the accompanying broccoli and baked potato. The atmosphere was terrible. The staff seated a howling baby at the next table. The baby was howling when it arrived and never shut up. All in all, I expected the service to be much better, the food to be much hotter and my birthday to be an unqualified success. What I experienced was a complete disappointment! I will investigate a different place next year. In the meantime, I'll skip Pappadeaux's for meals in the future.

I don't normally eat seafood so the server helped me to pick something out. She picked a winner. The drinks were tasty and the ambiance was nice.

Always the best seafood with lots to share. A special place for our family to celebrate our birthdays, anniversary or just because. I can't recall a time I've ever been disappointed. There is such a wonderful selection I struggle to pick one usually.

Mediocre. Pasta dishes overly goopy. Not anything i recognize as uniquely cajun. Too big and institutional feeling. Beer, however, is cold.

Whenever I come this way to see my family, this is where I go for the serious meals. They have some of the best rib eyes I've ever had in my life. Perfectly aged and marbled. Maybe because Texas is where the beef is at. This time around I was there celebrating my birthday and my heart was set on a steak but I clanged my mind as soon as I walked in the restaurant. Every time I've been here I go past the lobster tank by the hostess area. They have some of the biggest lobsters I've ever seen! These dudes are on steroids! So I figured, since it was a special occasion I'd get one of them babies. I went with a 4 pounder. It was quite a workout eating that monster. My fault, I don't like my lobster "neat", I like to crack it myself. Needless to say, I didn't need any sides but I still had a side of asparagus and Mac and cheese. Lobster not over cooked, it was sweet and tender. Kaitlin our waitress was spectacular, she kept the Stella's flowing and anything we needed she took care of. Haven't had service like this here until this young lady. She made my day extra special. She even got one of her co workers to sing Happy Birthday to me and brought me a complimentary dessert to close off my perfect day of celebration. Thank you Pappadeaux for the wonderful dining experience and thank you Kaitlin!

This place was really good! I'm a seafood lover so when I heard I was able to come here I was excited! I ordered the shrimp po boy lunch special and my tia got the salmon with the spaghetti squash lunch special. I should have got what she ordered because hers was tasty! The po boy is huge portions. It's literally the bread they serve you at the table before the meal and then a ton of fried shrimp in it! I ordered broccoli as my side and my grandma for green beans. The veggies were drowned in butter which is why I'm taking off a star. I didn't enjoy the taste it was too overbearing with butter. Everything was really clean though. Including the bathrooms! The servers were great too.

Amazing, excellent restaurant. Their crab & spinach appetizer dip is life changing. Order it. Their sea bass & red fish is delish. Order it too. Honestly, order everything! I only got to visit a couple of times but both visits delivered on fresh seafood completely on point. It's not cheap, but high quality fresh seafood rarely is. Our servers were professional & knowledgeable too. If you're lucky enough to have the opportunity to visit this restaurant, do it!

A little pricey, but so worth it. Ask your server for special drink orders they have a great bar. The food is good and nice ambience great place to celebrate a birthday.

Food wasn't very tasty. The fried shrimp was very bland, and very small portions of food all around for the very high price. I went to Muelle 37 a few days prior, and the food was way better for 1/3 of the price. Service was very bad; the only time we saw our server, was when she delivered our drinks, and when we were ready to check out. Our food and refills were delivered by two other different servers, which I'm sure were not gonna get any of the tip we left.

Pappadeaux's always delivers on the atmosphere, delicious food and friendly service. Prices are a little on the higher side but this environment does not come cheap. Absolutely beautiful outdoor seating area that is part of their latest design model. Quite comfortable outdoor furniture and a beautiful fountain coupled with lots of greenery make it a beautiful place to have a cocktail either while waiting for a table or just a lazy evening. Can't wait until it gets a little cooler to be able to sit outside. I ordered an off menu drink and was surprised to learn later that one of them restaurant managers Omar actually made the drink. He made the point to come over and check on how I liked it and made some very genuine nice conversation with us. Thank you Pappadeaux's for another great evening

I took my family here for Fathers day recently and it was simply amazing. We waited about 15 min around 3:30 p.m. on. Sunday. The place was definitely busy and worth the wait. My father ordered the lobster tail , I ordered the Atlantic fish, and my mother a red fish plate. My fish (which was The Chilean sea bass equivalent) was very tasty. My father's lobster tail was delicious especially with a little dip in drawn butter. My mother's red fish was truely to die for. Amazing. The bread with butter was on point as always. Always fresh. We ordered the crab cakes which had big chunks and a great taste as well. The breading on it was present but was not overbearing at all. The service was pretty good as well. Our waiter was the training person as well so he understood the importance of good service and how to give it. 5 star. Will be going back soon!

Very good for a chain restaurant. Was here for a staff Xmas party, service was very good, attentive. Seafood entrees were good, too. (Had a seafood combo over pasta w/a white wine cream sauce). Creme brûlée looked so good, I wish I had ordered it too!

This place is getting a little too behind of the healthy standards. First, there should not be plastic menus, but paper menus. Menus were in the floor. Then probably given to customers? Food is good, but the lack of detailed sanitation is bothersome.

As we walked in the door we commented that this is the nicest looking pappadeaux we have ever seen. We have been to a few. Denver, San Antonio, Houston, Dallas. We went to a table in the bar area and the service was so awful we just asked for our check for the drinks and went back to the host station to get a table in the dining area. The service there was no better and the steak we ordered was awful. Will never go back.
