Paraa Safari Lodge

This is a beautiful colonial style hotel set in the heart of Murchison Falls National Park. It has a spectacular view of the Nile river. The rooms are clean and well appointed. It’s like taking a trip back in time with all the modern conveniences. Great food and the water pressure in the shower makes you not want to get out. The staff is so accommodating. We love this place.

We finished our trip to Uganda with a wonderful stay at The Paraa Lodge. Rolfe and his team are super friendly, and the accommodations are comfortable and clean. We really enjoyed the pool with the swim-up bar and gorgeous views of the Nile River. The location in the Murchison Falls National Park is perfect. Our game drive started as soon as we left the property. Don't miss the river cruise to see hippos and the base of Murchison Falls.

This historic lodge on the banks of the Nile is a very stately beautiful accommodation. The service was above and beyond. We were so very impressed. The safari was scheduled to be 3 hours, but the team stayed out an extra hour to seek out the elusive big cats, with success.

The lodge itself is beautiful, with a fantastic view and lovely common areas like the dining room, terrace, bar, and pool. The rooms are also nice, but they feel a bit outdated—especially the bathrooms. In our room, the toilet was not properly mounted to the floor, making it unstable, and the water tank made extremely loud, whistling noises when refilling, which was quite disturbing at night.|The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was very good.|However, I am deducting two stars: one because of the outdated bathroom (see above), and another due to our experience in the gift shop. We bought 12 stamps for postcards to Europe and paid the correct postage (about 5500 UGX per stamp), but were given stamps worth only 400 UGX each. Unfortunately, we only noticed this much later, when trying to send the postcards at a post office.|Overall, a beautiful lodge with great service, but some improvements are needed, especially in the rooms and in guest services like the gift shop.

Enjoyed our stay! It's beautiful here also, food has improved greatly this year as I go on safari yearly. Can't wait to see the upgraded rooms completed!

Beautiful scenery - close to the river - but we were there for food and paying 80.000 per head for a below mediocre lunch buffet - that is not good enough - if you want to just go there for a view over the beautiful scenery and a drink it will be good value - but for food not a good value!

This was a great, nostalgic feeling hotel. The staff was all kind and courteous, and the food tasted amazing. I love that there was a blend of American and regional style dishes in the buffet.

The staff at this hotel were extremely rude and unhelpful. From inquiry, they acted like they didn’t want to deal with guests at all. Simple questions were met with bad attitudes and zero effort to assist. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
