We spent two nights at Paradise Beach Hotel Mirissa and loved the relaxed charm of this colonial-style beachfront property. Just 50 meters from Mirissa Beach, the location is ideal for beach lovers who want to be close to the shore without being in the middle of the hustle and bustle.||Although our stay was met with continuous rain and we had to cancel a few planned activities, we truly enjoyed the slow-paced comfort the hotel offered. We spent time walking along the beach, relaxing by the beautiful swimming pool, and soaking in the rain-soaked views from both our room balcony and the dining area.||The dining area itself is like a large open-sided balcony—airy and inviting, offering stunning views of the sea without compromising on comfort. Our reservation included both breakfast and dinner, and both meals were served buffet-style with a good variety of options to enjoy.||The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The furniture may appear slightly worn, but it added a nostalgic, vintage charm that suited the British colonial look of the hotel.||Another lovely feature is the bar cum activity room, where guests can play billiards, chess, or other games. After a hearty dinner, we enjoyed a quiet game of chess there—such thoughtful amenities made our rainy days all the more enjoyable.||All in all, Paradise Beach Hotel Mirissa is a peaceful, charming retreat that offers great value, wonderful views, and a comforting atmosphere—even when the weather isn’t on your side.

Initial impression as we arrived was wow this looks stunning . The pool is right out front main reception and a very welcoming invite as you enter .||And that’s where it ended . It is clear that there are two kinds of rooms available - the newer yet smaller cleaner rooms . Then the one we stayed in - rooms 501 onwards . Older , dated yet bigger . The First Gentleman checking us in had the enthusiasm of someone who did not want to be there . ||We could not connect to the internet and had two people spend more than 30 mins trying to connect us . I realise this is a first world issue but with things happening at home we need to be available . ||The light next to the bed needed a different plug otherwise could not be turned on - let alone plugged in . Should not have to have called for that to be fixed .The drawers missing knobs , the bathroom without hand towels which we had to request . The worst was the amount of black mould and dripping water across the air conditioning pipes in the bathroom . It looks unsightly to say the least . ||Dinner was an all out argument with multiple staff over a beer that was not ordered . It left us feeling like very under valued clients . Having worked in customer service I have always tried to keep a client happy even if I know they are wrong ( in this case we were not ) .||In bed I felt an odd lump down near my feet - under the fitted sheet . I un made the bed to discover someone’s eye drop vessel - unused at least - on top of the mattress protector !!!! What - really - you didn’t notice that as you made the bed . ||I would recommend you stay elsewhere as it’s 50/50 if you get the right staff and the right room along with the right level of service . ||Very disappointed . Bad reviews spread faster than good sadly .

Firstly I would say about location. It’s very near the sea, you need to take just few steps to go to the sea, you can see the sea from the pool, restaurant. Room was perfect for us. Everything was clean. And food was so delicious. Overall I love this place. Highly recommended.

I had a terrible experience at Paradise Beach Club Mirissa and would strongly advise others, especially local Sri Lankans, to avoid this place. I stayed here with my wife, daughter, and mother across two rooms, expecting a relaxing holiday. Instead, we were met with unacceptable and outright discriminatory behavior. The hotel staff were extremely rude and dismissive, especially towards us as locals and my Chinse wife, while clearly prioritizing white-skinned foreign guests. Despite multiple polite requests for a takeaway breakfast (as we had early whale-watching plans), the staff failed to provide us with anything – even though we were on a half-board package. We ended up missing meals that we had already paid for. The service around the pool was equally appalling. I tried to place an order, but the waiter rudely brushed me off saying he was “busy,” and never returned. When my wife asked for assistance regarding hotel amenities (which were poorly maintained and not properly marked), she was completely ignored. This level of disrespect and poor service is unacceptable in any hotel, let alone one that claims to be a "beach club." I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. There are far better places in Mirissa that value all guests equally – regardless of where they come from.

The location of the hotel is excellent, with stunning sea views that could be a big draw for guests. Although the views are great, the unpleasant smell in the rooms is a significant problem affecting my experience as a guest. The bathrooms were not clean, which was a significant problem. The lack of cleanliness and maintenance in the rooms and bathrooms was noticeable. Due to the cleanliness and odour issues in the rooms, I would not recommend this hotel unless significant steps are taken to improve these aspects.

We stayed two nights in this hotel as part of an Intrepid tour of Sri Lanka, therefore did not choose it ourselves. If I could give this hotel 0 stars I would. ||||Almost everything went wrong for me whilst I was there unfortunately: ||||- Within two hours of arrival, it was clear that a member of staff had been in my room whilst we were on the beach - items had been moved about in my bag (we think they were looking for prescription drugs as it was the washbag compartment). Fortunately everything was in the safe but the manager was called, and basically accused me of lying about it; ||- Next morning the toilet broke and wouldn't flush, and the kettle overheated and burnt my hand. ||||Our tour guide was able to move me to a room upstairs which was a million times better, but I had to spend some of the time on day two without a room, which was annoying, as this was our only two days at the beach. ||||In terms of location, the hotel is in a great location on Mirissa beach, which I actually really liked. ||||I would avoid staying here at all costs.

Paradise it is not. We didn't stay at the hotel but used the pool beach as day guests. You pay for the beds which are dirty old and damaged, not a great start. The pool is damaged which sharp exposed broken concrete at the edges so not good for kids. Service was terrible, every round of drinks seems to take half an hour with no apology. Food comes to the table wrapped in plastic which I've never seen anywhere else... Even if it's to protect from flies, surely the walk from the kitchen it's not needed?! Oh and they stand over you after each drink wanting cash in payment. They will accept card but they're not happy about it. Don't bother going, there are much better places in Mirissa. Maybe we should have realised it would be terrible when it's only 20% full...
