This experience was incredible and unforgettable. We booked the spear fishing experience with Paradise Cove Resort. We arrived onto Freeport from a cruise. There was a van waiting to pick us up and take us to Paradise Cove. The driver told us facts about the island on the drive. When we arrived, we got our snorkeling gear and spear fishing gear. We practiced with the speargun and Hawaiian sling on dry land for a little bit. Then we got in a small boat and went out into the water. Barry gave great instruction and tips on aiming, free diving, what fish to catch, where the fish were at, how to be successful, etc. he continued to provide tips and feedback throughout the experience so we could be successful. We saw several species of fish, lobster, star fish, jelly fish, sea turtles, stingrays rays, coral reefs, and a reef shark. Barry was very professional, helpful, educated, and made the whole experience fun. When we finished our tour, we came back to the cove where our fish was prepared and cooked for us. All of the workers were helpful. The gear provided for snorkeling was very nice. There were lots of fun things to do while visiting paradise cove. There were paddle boards, kayaks, snorkeling gear and instruction, umbrellas, beach chairs, volleyball, and restaurant. The restrooms were clean. Instructions were clear and helpful. There was food and souvenirs offered from Paradise Cove. It was so much fun and a great opportunity. We highly recommend visiting Paradise Cove for the day and definitely recommend the spear fishing experience. Barry really cared about us having a great time and being able to catch something. All the workers worked very hard to make sure everyone was having a great time. Make sure to book an excursion with them!

The guided snorkeling was well worth it. Ryan was so good at spotting turtles and sting rays! I feel we would've never found them ourselves. Drinks are very reasonably priced as well. The negatives were the bugs, our girls got SO many bug bites, and not really an area of clean, pretty beach to swim. Perfect for if you want to see sea turtles! If you're looking for tropical beach, try somewhere else.

Very nice water, reasonable price for admission and concessions. Calm easy water, so good for you even if you aren't very competent in the ocean. Snorkeling near shore wasn't much good other than for a couple of turtles. I wanted to hop on a boat to go out to the reef, but my daughter was happy chilling and messing around in the warm shallow water.

This was by far one of the coolest things I have ever done in my life. These guys go above and beyond to keep their guest happy. Great job. Keep up the great work! If you can handle long swim, go out by the rocks and snorkel the 15-20 ft deep areas!!!! Well worth it!!! We seen several sea turtles, barracudas and tons of school of tropical fish.

Good snorkeling, saw turtles from a short distance. The further you swim towards the reef, the more different fish you see. Once you're out of the water you may enjoy bahamian cuisine like conch fritters. Not too crowded. Facilities are nice.

My wife and went to Paradise Cove in September of 2024. Would I go there again? No. Would I recommend to a friend? No. The beach at Paradise Cove was horrible. There are many other better beaches on Grand Bahamas to go to. There are lots of activities to do but everything costs a lot. We had lunch there. It took 30 minutes to make and it wasn’t that busy. The food was OK. The bathrooms were not working which made no one that was there happy. I was underwhelmed by the entire experience. If you found my review helpful please let me know and give me a thumbs up.

Google
The best spot for snorkeling in Grand Bahama. You can spot friendly juvenile turtles before the reef and huge turtles, sharks, large fishes behind. The food is only average but the location is great, so worth a try
