Le Metropole Hotel – Truly Exceptional The place is absolutely wonderful! The view from the Skyview Restaurant is beyond perfect, and everyone who works there is incredibly friendly, nice, and genuinely helpful. They leave no room for error and make sure everything is just right. The royal, classic vibe is amazing—you really feel like you’ve stepped back in time. The food is delicious, and the overall experience is unforgettable. We celebrated our anniversary there, and the romantic dinner was perfect, topped off with a thoughtful, customized cake for the occasion. We will definitely be going back again!

A lovely period hotel with plenty of charm. The staff are exceptional - friendly and helpful. The old dual lift (elevator) is terrific - probably the quietest lift we've ever used. The 5th floor restaurant and bar serves alcohol, and the staff are superb, moving furniture around to accommodate your group size. The views over the Mediterranean are excellent - both at breakfast and in the evening where you can watch the sunset. Prices are reasonable (around EGP 220 for a bottle of Stella, plus tax and service). We didn't have dinner there but some of our small group did and said the food was very good.

I liked the welcome drink was introduced by smiley staff and classified to two types alcoholic and non alcoholic.

Beautiful place, very much frozen in time with an old glamour of the past century. This isn’t the kind of place to go if you’re looking for a modern spartan type of accommodation, it’s very much rich with the heavy tapestry of past opulence The service was excellent, our room and bed very comfortable, with a view to the sea. Don’t miss the Sky restaurant! A lot of the restaurants with great views often mean mediocre meals, but the food was excellent, the breakfast offering a wide variety of all kinds of goodies. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We loved everything about this hotel. The beautiful room has very comfortable beds and black out shades. Room was also quiet. The hotel is just breathtaking. It is definitely a grand experience! Make sure to ride the old elevator to the roof top to enjoy the view. It is in the thick of Alexandria’s historic downtown, with easy access to the Corniche to walk with Mediterranean views, and historic landmarks.

We arrived at Le Metropole Hotel in Alexandria and were overwhelmed by the charm and elegance. Following a cold welcoming beverage, we were shown to our room. A small balcony offered an intriguing view into the busy city streets as well as an incredible view of the harbour and the Mediterranean beyond. We were invited to a lounge for a complimentary "afternoon tea" which we thoroughly enjoyed. An evening walk through the streets in the area revealed many small shops and a market close by. Day 2 We enjoyed breakfast at the luxurious Sky View Restaurant on the roof of the hotel. What a beautiful view of the harbour surrounded by historic elegance. We returned for dinner and watched the sun set over the city. This was definitely a highlight of our three week stay in Egypt

I stayed in Le Metropole earlier this year and found it simply gorgeous! The decor from the entrance, stairway, room, rooftop bar & breakfast room, and even the toilets, was quite stunning. The bed was super comfortable, bathroom and shower roomy and views down the street were great. I really enjoyed my Ice Cold Beer in Alex as well! Thanks to all the staff who were super polite & attentive. If I return to Alexandria, I shall book Le Metropole again!

Location’s good. Hotel’s alright. Building is beyond its prime, air is very stuffy and the one (beautiful) elevator is slow and has constant maintenance issues. Rooms are quite noisy (street noise) but luckily I had earplugs. Staff is very “helpful” but it’s all a bit much for me personally. Valet service very slow - I told the front desk at 11:30 I’d be checking out in 15min and would like the car ready. It’s 12:25 and I’m still waiting. Staff doesn’t seem to get what the problem is. Unacceptable for this price. Wouldn’t stay again, I’m sure there are other boutique hotels in Alexandria at a similar or lower price with fewer disappointments. As a young-ish independent traveller, I’m probably not the right target audience of this hotel anyway. But it’s a great place for people who are nostalgic for colonial times who probably won’t use the valet service anyway :)
