Yelp
Ok, let's start with the positives, shall we? this is a really cute little park. Let me repeat that: little. It is really well maintained, and the managers (Curtis and Dawn) are very attentive to their guests needs. It starts when you pull in and they greet you in your vehicle. There were a few other campers checking in when we arrived, but Dawn came out to our truck to welcome us, give us a map, the general camp information, pointed out where our site was. Warm welcome indeed. Curtis and Dawn walked around the camp making sure everyone was getting settled in and assisting in the process where they could. They continued to walk around and check up on campers throughout the weekend. Hats off to them!
The amenities include a communal outdoor kitchen as well as CLEAN restrooms, CLEAN showers and a small, but CLEAN laundry room. There is a boat launch ramp, and the camp provides (free) paddleboards to the campers. Also, this camp has THE BEST wi-fi of any park we stayed in on our 39-day trip. I was told it was "gigabyte speed".
The park is in a good location with access to fishing, boating, hiking, Bodie and Yosemite.
Thats the good, now for the not so good:
I mentioned it was little... but to be fair, it was built when camping trailers were much smaller. We have a 28' trailer and had some issues actually getting backed into our site.
Once we were backed in and settled, there was no room for the truck in the site so we (along with most other "campers"), had to park across the front of the site. That pretty much blocked the view in that direction as well as making the drive thru the camp pretty narrow. We were told that we could park the truck in another area of the park, but we need access to items in the truck that made the parking alternative inconvenient. I think the alternative parking was packed most of the weekend anyway.
Our slide outs were right at the edge of our site and when we put out the awning (the only shade available in most sites), it was nearly touching our neighbor's trailer. We needed the shade while we were there as it was in the 96-100-degree range for our entire stay. Every site was like that, so you really don't have ANY privacy unless you hide in the trailer with the shades pulled down.
With everyone packed in that tight, the noise level was a bit irritating at times. To be fair, it did quiet down at 10 PM most evenings, but started picking up around 6 AM most mornings.
There was no room to BBQ or have a campfire in your campsite unless you wanted to smoke out your camp as well as the neighbors to either side and behind your camp.
To sum up: would I stay there again? NO. I suppose it would be OK for an overnight stop if you were passing thru the area, but it just didn't work for us.
