Absolutely beautiful setting. Very enjoyable walk around the grounds feeding wild ducks, deer and trout. Looking at old workers and hunters huts and what they used as 'tools of the trade'. Gift shop well stocked and well priced. N.B The young blonde girl behind the counter needs to learn how to smile!

I’ve been to quite a few attractions like this and it’s the best one so far. The park is big and full of different kinds of animals. It’s also very clean and well planned out. Not gonna lie, I thought it was quite expensive. However, I found it worth it as I was exploring the place. You can tell the animals are all well taken care of. It’s a nice day activity for all different ages. It’s cool we get to feed the animals for $2! It was cool getting the chance to pet the lion cubs! Definitely worth queuing for. My favourite one is the donkey, he’s definitely a photogenic one.

Come to this place if you love to feed ducks and trout. The ducks are not shy and will approach and follow. The lions are an extra but if you are coming for this you should arrive at 2:00pm. The site is well maintained. Informative. Plenty of carparking. The location is close to the Rotorua CBD

Lovely place to take kids. They had a free wheelchair so I could also enjoy. Animals were lovely and great to be able to feed and pet. Definitely needs directions to get there. Plenty of parking. Not to busy when we went on Saturday

First time visiting here. Not too busy even on a school holiday. There was a long line to pat the lion cubs. Awesome experience for the kids. They also sell feeds for the ducks, trouts and other animals. Very interactive and not too complicated. We all enjoyed the experience.

Amazing for family/friends or Couples!, Such lovely views and so many ducks (MANY ducks), the price is so worth it, and all animals are very friendly and very hungry (would recommend buying 2 of each food bags for the animals) , Educational talks too w staff members when they feed the loins or birds!, Lady at reception was perfect and so welcoming. Will deff come back when we’re in Rotorua again!! 🤭

What a wonderful place hidden away in a beautiful setting. Patting the lion cubs was truly memorable and watching the lions being feed was real entertainment for us all. This kids loved every minute and they really enjoyed getting to feed the kea and watching them so closely. Highly recommended for families.

We had a fantastic day out at Paradise Valley with our family and would highly recommend it for anyone visiting with toddlers or young children. There is a great variety of animals for little ones to see up close, and many opportunities to feed and pat the animals, which our toddlers absolutely loved. Feeding the deer and patting the friendly farm animals were definite highlights of our visit. There are also scheduled feeding times throughout the day, including the lion feeding at 2:30 pm, which was exciting to watch, followed by the Kea and possum feedingat 3pm. These sessions were well organised and added to the overall experience. We found Paradise Valley to be very stroller-friendly, with easy-to-navigate paths, making it simple and stress-free to get around with toddlers. Overall, it was an enjoyable, relaxed, and memorable family outing, and we would happily visit again.

Yelp
This is an animal sanctuary/petting zoo. It is a small but awesome place. The main attraction is the daily lion feeding. Their goal is to promote healthy mating, a safe and secure place from poachers, and to educate people about the endangered species. After you see the lions being fed, you can walk the grounds as long as you like. You can purchase food to feed a lot of the animals. They have goats, pigs, sheep, deer, ducks, wallabies and the Ngongotaha valley stream runs right through and you can see trout happily swimming the waters. They have some beautiful birds that just love their caretakers. It's a beautiful place. Feeding the animals was fun and they let you pet them and to just touch some of the deer antlers and goat antlers was a first for me. The animals are used to humans but will push each other out of the way to get to you if you have food! They have lots of room to roam and their caretakers truly love these animals. A must see if you are in the Ngongotaha Valley area.
