It was a treat to enjoy a date night with my wife in this amazing locally owned restaurant. The service was outstanding, and the food was even better. The quality and overall experience make this our new favorite restaurant in Redding! If you’re looking for the perfect date night, don’t go anywhere else. We are regulars now!

Having recently moved here from a big city area that had an AMAZING food scene, we've had to temper our expectations of many restaurants as being "Redding Good" vs what we were used to back in our former home. This is the first place that just legitimately blew us away. The staff was excellent. The ambiance was perfect. The food... My goodness... The FOOD! By far, the best we've had in Redding, and would easily compete with the best restaurants across the country. It's that good. If you're looking for a date night, you'd be doing yourself a disservice by not coming here.

Google
Best food in Redding hands down. Go check this Family owned business out and you won’t be disappointed!!!

Google
I haven’t been there for a while and I was so surprised. The owner was the greeter and server and provided excellent service. Her husband is the cook. As the owner she could tell us best about the menu since she knew it intimately The menu is delightful and had some very interesting such as Elk burger. My husband and I both ordered the pesto penne, his with vegetables and mine with meat ball. This was just wonderful. Each bite you could taste the ingredients and the vegetable pasta was full of fresh vegetables. The variety of veggies were cut into small pieces and blended so well as opposed to feeling like a bunch of broccoli was thrown in. For the appetizer I had the pork belly which was to die for. I would go back for just that! We chose the Brussels sprouts, an appetizer, with our main course. I very highly recommend Paradiso.

This is my new favorite place in Redding! The menu options are small but creative and delicious. Every menu item came out of the kitchen piping hot! So fresh! We have the mushroom polenta appetizer. it was creamy and delicious with a tasty garlic olive oil. The garlic bread was a bit peppery for my taste but I enjoyed it. It makes you want to have a beer! Are the chicken marsala which was yummy I asked for spoon because it was nice and saucy the way I like it. My husband had the bas il penne pasta with the sausage. The waitress recommended the sausage. It's complimented the green basily sauce the penny was richly coated in. We were simply too full for dessert but the ones that came out looked good. Are ticket came to $64. the waitress well earned her tip. she knowledgeably guided us in our selections and answered questions intelligently. I will return here again and again.

Paradiso in Redding: A Culinary Gem We recently enjoyed a truly memorable dinner at Paradiso Restaurant in Redding, CA. The service was impeccable – attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Our waiter was engaging and provided helpful explanations of the menu options. We highly recommend making reservations, as this popular spot fills up quickly. Our party of four had all amazing dishes: a perfectly cooked rib-eye, rich Bolognese, tagliatelle with homemade sausage in a creamy white sauce, and melt-in-your-mouth braised short ribs. All sides were perfectly prepared and the focaccia bread was superb. Every bite was amazing, and the quality of the ingredients was evident in each dish. Paradiso boasts a charming and intimate atmosphere. It's clear that Redding is fortunate to have such a high-caliber dining establishment. We can't wait to return!

Google
I am so sorry I didn't take pictures of our food. All four of us raved about our different dishes. Fish, short ribs (this was mine and absolutely delish), pasta, and curry. Our SIL treated us, and it was a treat indeed.

Jeremy Hammer

Google
I had the pork belly appetizer and the short rib dinner (with mashed potatoes and carrots). Both were absolutely delicious! And the owners/staff were very friendly. I would definitely recommend.

Jennifer D.

Yelp
Hidden gem. Loved it food was delicious staff was hard working and friendly. I have never been to Redding and was pleasantly surprised

Lee R.

Yelp
We have recently eaten at Cafe Oaradisio severalk times and foud it one of Redding's little known favorites! The food was very good, the service above average and the prices very even to low comparatively. Do make a reservation 530 605-1000!

George D.

Yelp
I was planning on celebrating our anniversary at Cafe Paradisio. Called only to find phone out of order. Drove over to make a reservation and found a sigh on the door. "Closed Temporarily"

Arturo G.

Yelp
This was the note I show up to for what was supposed to be my first time there reservation I had was confirmed earlier this week @7:45pm for May 17th no one reached out to me at all I show up to see this taped to the door. Very unprofessional and wasted time no heads up so I could've called and scheduled to eat any where else.

Jason E.

Yelp
Let me be clear: this is one of the best places in Redding for amazing food. The husband is the chef, and the wife runs the floor, and together, they've created an amazing culinary experience. Lots of appetizers to choose from, diverse wine and beer list, homemade soups that will knock your socks off, wonderful entree options for any palette, and homemade desserts to bring it all home. Needless to say, the service and experience is top tier - and you feel how much they care about you from the moment you walk in the door. The ambiance is quaint and small with a local photographer gracing the walls. Make a reservation - you can leave a message before they open, and she will call you back. This restaurant is absolutely fantastic, and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to have an elegant evening with top-tier food and unprecedented service. To you, Paradisio, thank you for working so hard to give us such an amazing place to enjoy.

Michelle L.

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants, I always get the chicken marsala with mashed potatoes instead of penne pasta & my husband usually gets either a New York or ribeye depending on what they have that day. I've also tried the pesto pasta and lasagna with meatballs and both were very delicious. The waitress is always super attentive and kind, I highly recommends this cute hidden gem!

Henry J.

Yelp
Don't read the rest of the review just go !!! My dad is French and absolutely loved the duck.

Ari G.

Yelp
i love this place. we've been twice and the chicken marsala pasta was phenomenal. the flavors were so bright and balance. i could taste so many different flavors and none of them were over powering. my second time there i ordered the sausage pasta and it was good but not as amazing as the chicken marsala. the restaurant is small and the service is great. really attentive. really chill vibes in there. you can tell the chef is really passionate about his craft and i think that cafe paradiso is so elevated for redding. i always recommend it to anyone looking for amazing, quality, classy food. if i could eat here weekly i definitely would.

Rachel T.

Yelp
This is by far the best restaurant in Redding! Very quaint, super attentive server, and you just can't beat this place!

Bill D.

Yelp
Great food and service. My wife had Chicken Marsala with a house salad and wine. I had seared scallops and a side salad. We both had crème brûlée for desert. The service is excellent. The down sides are it's rather old and worn and very noisy. It was difficult to have a conversation.

Shelly C.

Yelp
I think I found my new favorite restaurant! Cafe Paradisio is located in a quiet area of downtown within walking distance to the Market Street Promenade. There is plenty of parking right out front. We managed to get same day reservations on a Saturday and thank goodness we called ahead. As we sat and dined, walk-ins were being turned away because the restaurant was booked up for the night. The restaurant is small with maybe 10 small tables total and just 2 seats at the bar so reservations any day of the week would be a good idea. It was extremely hot outside but nice and cool inside. The wait staff is very efficient and friendly. We started with the ahi poke and baked brie platter appetizers. The ahi was delicious, smothered in soy sauce and sesame oil, I highly recommend this dish! The brie came with housemade crackers, equally delicious but I felt the portion size was on the smaller side for the price. The housemade crackers came topped with a balsamic glaze which was quite messy to eat. For dinner I had the braised beef short rib which was cooked perfectly with the meat falling off the bone. The fusion style curried rice Complimented the flavor of the rib very well. We finished with a creme brulee which did not disappoint. The whole experience here was great from start to finish. The wait staff was experienced, friendly, and prompt.

Heather A.

Yelp
Had another amazing dinner there once again tonight. I had the pumpkin risotto and it was delicious. Presented so well, full of flavor. Husband and Father had the rib eye and it was cooked to perfection. One medium and the other medium rare. The twice baked potato was full of flavor. Last item was the chicken Marsala and I don't even understand how the chicken is so tender and moist with a flavorful sauce. As always thank you for a great dining experience and wonderful food.

Yelp
Service and food were great! Grilled peach salad: Salads are hard to make good and this was a good salad. An appropriate portion for one person. It felt a little heavy on the dressing (like if your clothes are heavy after standing in the rain without an umbrella), but I still really enjoyed the thoughtful flavor combinations of nutty arugula, roasted and mildly candied walnuts, smoky charred fresh cubed peaches, and goat cheese. I paired this peachy dish with a peaches and cream Italian soda and it was not too much peach. It was EXCELLENT. Elk burger with garlic fries: My partner really enjoyed the burger. It wasn't my thing for whatever reason, usually I like gamey meats. HOWEVER, the stuff they put ON the burger was really tasty. I would have liked to see that on top of their very good and crispy thin cut fries. The fries themselves were excellent and very garlicky, served with an aoili. The only weird thing about them was that they were sprinkled with a flavorless cheese that didn't add anything for me. Definitely swap out the cheese for the elk burger juices, sauce, and bacon (not sure if goat cheese would be too much). It is very packed inside as far a seating goes, no one was wearing a mask, so would definitely only recommend if you are comfortable with that level of risk.

Rich B.

Yelp
Seared ahi bowl was delicious, and I wish I could make Brussels sprouts like Cafe Paradisio...the small sprouts and fresh ingredients made all the difference!

Tracy C.

Yelp
I love this place. Everything I have tried has been delicious. Wonderful ambience. Kinda slow service, but worth the wait! I'll be back

Ami C.

Yelp
We went there at the advice of a friend and weren't disappointed! Our server was so nice, the ambiance was pleasant and the food was Fantastic. Hubby is a vegetarian and he said the 4-cheese lasagna was exceptional. I never order chicken because it is usually dry but nope, this was great, moist and SO tasty! The penne pasta was wonderful too. The servings were so plentiful 2 of us had leftovers to take home. Loved it.

Cori W.

Yelp
This amazing restaurant is operated by a husband and wife team. We had a fantastic experience. My husband took me to eat here for my birthday and we were blown away. The food was prepared so well. Everything we had was delicious. For starters, my husband had the bone marrow. Which he loved! I had the scallop dish which was out of this world. He had the ahi tuna dish. For dessert...the crème brûlée which was the perfect ending! The owner waited on us and she was so warm and friendly. She really made an awesome food experience even better. I highly recommend you try this little hidden gem. We will be back!!!

Chad P.

Yelp
Cute little bistro in downtown Redding with a fun menu, quality food, and excellent service. I had the Chicken Marsala and it was delish. It's a small place so I'd recommend reservations.

Michael S.

Yelp
My wife and I had dinner here tonight and I have to say, one of the best meals I've ever had. We split the ribeye and salmon entree's and had an amazing meal. Highly recommend this restaurant. Great job!!!!!

Jen J.

Yelp
Had my family birthday dinner at cafe paridisio. They were out of Italian soda refills, didn't offfer a substitute so had to ask mid meal. Ordered bread and they brought it out plain..had to ask for the oil to go with it. My main dish was chicken Marsala. Very salty and wasn't a fan of the sauce. Hubs ordered elk burger. The bun was soggy. Fries good though. No birthday desert or singing. Took about 45 minutes to prepare food. 1/10 experience. Pretty disappointed for a $250 tab for 5 adults. Definitely won't be back.

Marty M.

Yelp
This is our favorite place in Redding! Chef Michael is always switching up the menu and his dishes are too notch! His food is delicious but also slightly daring and just coring within the lines. And his housemade gelatos are always a delight! And Amber is the beat server in town! We love them, and so does everyone we send there!

Stephanie K.

Yelp
Middle of the road restaurant for me. There were some great things and some kinda Meh things. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The beet salad was good. The scallops were just okay, I didn't enjoy it being paired with the bacon hash, it was just too heavy for a side. It was pretty hot inside the restaurant, I was sweating in my dress. I know it's turning summer in Redding but I don't really want to sweat through a meal when I'm dining out. I feel bad for the kitchen staff, they're probably roasting back there. :-( I might try this spot again at some point, but not in a hurry to.

Laura S.

Yelp
Pricy but delicious. I hadn't had anything I haven't absolutely loved. The lasagna is just like my homemade and the veggies are cut to just the right size and sautéed to perfection. I haven't been able to get a seat in the restaurant so we order from DD when we want to celebrate.

Roberta H.

Yelp
Wonderful local treasure. Happened upon while traveling through and so happy we did. Everyone's food choices were amazing and the service was outstanding! Will definitely make a point to stop in again when in the area.

Brett H.

Yelp
Our second venture to this fine establishment and it definitely was *worth* it. The ladies enjoyed the gnocchi, the gents had the chicken marsala and the pork linguini -- all excellent. (we saw the "short" ribs and they looked great! and not short at all ...)

Linda A.

Yelp
Went here tonight with a group of 9. Be prepared to pay 25% gratuity that they don't tell you about. There was only one waitress for the entire restaurant, although she was nice and friendly, how attentive could she be for that kind of mandatory tip? The food was mediocre, salmon was dry and no sauce. The Zen bowls were good and the curry good too but very overpriced. it was $160 for salmon and curry and a cheap bottle of white wine and the 25% gratuity. There are better places in Redding for that kind of money. I'm not sure why it has such high reviews.

Celine F.

Yelp
This local gem is on DoorDash and their take out food is just as yummy as their dine in. Some staple favorites are the Chicken Marsala with sun dried tomatoes, or cherry tomatoes, a nice twist to the classic recipe, the pork gnocchi, gnocchi in house made, the scallops, whatever that sauce is on top is oooooh so delish, and if they have it available, you must try the fish specials!! We usually end our meals with some locally made Sorbet or creme brûlée. Starters to try: ahi wontons and Mac and cheese. The waitress is as pretty on the inside as she is on the out and the chef is talented and kind. Honestly I can't rave enough about this place, it's our local favorite and every time we leave, were soon talking about how we can't wait till the next visit.

L A.

Yelp
My husband and I were on our way to watch a comedy show at the Redding Civic Auditorium. We were going to have dinner at a nearby restaurant but they couldn't get us in early enough. We went for a short drive and found this gem of a restaurant! It was already booked for the night and we didn't make any reservations. Luckily there was a spot at the bar and we gladly sat there. Food here is to die for and the service is awesome. We're almost thankful that the plan to eat at the first restaurant fell through. Definitely will be coming back here!

Noah B.

Yelp
A wonderful bistro/cafe experience that holds the small town values in the heart of Redding, while serving up fresh cuisine that takes you outside of the cities traditional roots. The small 25-40 capacity cafe in downtown Redding welcomes its customers to enjoy fresh tastes of California inspired cuisine with food options of many varieties. The "Zen Bowl" feat a seared Ahi Tuna filet won over my pallet quickly with a choice of three or four house made sauces, leaving me feeling full and satisfied while knowing the offerings were very healthy. If you haven't tried out Paradisio yet, plan a date night, prepare for some dark and modern art vibes while you enjoy excellent customer service. THE BEST RESTAURANT IN REDDING.

K Q.

Yelp
This small restaurant is a gem. It is my favorite date night spot in Redding. The food is perfectly prepared, and the menu is creative. The service is friendly, and the atmosphere is sophisticated but without pretense.

Lee G.

Yelp
I had such an unfortunately poor experience here tonight, and it really bummed me out because I honestly believe it's the best food in Redding. My friend and I went for dinner, we ordered mac & cheese and a steak entrée to share. We made it very clear we were sharing. Our salads were fine. Our appetizer was fine but when our entree came out it was just on one big plate. We reminded our sever we were sharing and they brought us out an appetizer plate. A little tiny one. And they just plopped it on the table and walked away. For a dinner that expensive couldn't you have split it for us? Once that was all dealt with, we realize we only had one steak knife, we asked for another one repeatedly it was never brought to us, and eventually my friend had to walk up to the front and ask for one. We were ignored for quite a while, and by the end of the dinner, I felt the need to voice my displeasure with the service. I asked the waitress for a manager and she said I am the manager. I said OK how about an owner? She said my husband and I are buying it right now. I said OK is there anyone here I can talk to? Her husband came out, called me a liar, and proceeded to yell at me in front of the entire dining room. It was really awful. If these are the new owners that I am done, my tolerance for being treated that poorly is zero. What a shame, because, like I said, it is some of the best food in Reading.

Richard J.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic! Every time we are in Redding we will be sure to stop by here. We discovered the place about 2 years ago when we were passing through and had the most amazing dinner. This time when we got into town, we knew for sure where we were having dinner! We booked a reservation earlier that day and were able to get a table. Highly recommend booking a reservation. This is a small family owned business with beautiful ambiance has the most amazing chef who cooks up the most high quality dishes. I enjoyed the scallops which were absolutely top notch. My wife had the short ribs and she enjoyed them very much. They made up a special pesto rigatoni pasta with big meatballs for our child. I cannot begin to tell you how amazing the food was. Wonderful presentation and the portion sizes were perfect! The level of customer service we received was absolutely great! Service was second to none!

Matt J.

Yelp
Another one! Meant to leave a 5 star review last week when my wife had the marinated beef cheeks and I had the chicken marsala. But no, tonight was even better! Wife had the halibut and Mom and I had pork spare ribs. Dad had the cheese lasagna, all delicious! Bubble stash beer was on point and they have a good selection of wine to pair with whatever entre you get. This place is a hidden gem and Amber and her husband really know how to treat their guests. Go here and get the halibut, you wont be dissapointed! Try the brie appetizer with the bacon jam, straight fire!! Thanks you CP, be there again soon!

Anna M.

Yelp
I was excited to go to Cafe Paradisio with the hope of a newfound favorite Italian restaurant in Redding. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment. It seems most restaurants in Redding cater to one - greasy, fried food. Italian food is beautiful and simplistic with flavors that don't need to be overdone if made using the right methods and ingredients. I really wish restaurant owners would hold true to authentic cultural cuisines. There are some of us that appreciate the variety of flavors on our palettes and being taken to another culture/country through dishes.

victor s.

Yelp
The best hidden secret in downtown Redding! Make reservations for dinner one night and you'll know why. If your a snobby food critic who leaves bad reviews on Yelp instead of reaching out to the owners... stay away, you dont belong there. ps. My apologies for not posting a pic... my food vanished before i could

Stephanie C.

Yelp
Cafe Paradisio is hands down the best restaurant in Redding! It is my go to when people visit from out of town.

Karen G.

Yelp
This place is well worth seeking out! Enjoyed the grilled Peach salad and my partner thought his chicken Marsala was the best! The focaccia was fab! Nice wine selection. Most importantly, service was attentive and lovely. Very glad we came and highly recommend!

Anna S.

Yelp
Our hotel recommended Cafe Paradisio and we are so glad. The service was great and the food was superb. My husband had the chicken Marsala and I tasted it, too. We both agreed it was perfect and the pasta perfectly al dente. I had the papardelle bolognese and it was the best I've ever eaten. Also paired with the recommended mouton cadet French wine --so good. Beet salad also amazing. This restaurant is a little gem. You'd never suspect such excellence from its unimposing storefront entry. But it is altogether charming, with wonderful food.

Jared M.

Yelp
What absolutely gem of a restaurant! We got the Choice ribeye and halibut. We started our with the focaccia bread which is my favorite bread period. Then our meals which left me speechless.

Gregory H.

Yelp
Small and unsuspectingly awesome. Best food so far since I moved up to Redding. The ahi plate Andy elk burger were fabulous! On my list of places to go.

Cathy H.

Yelp
My husband and I were passing through town on our way to Washington State. We are following a paleo diet so I was searching for a restaurant that had some dishes we could eat. Their food was amazing. Hats off to the chef and the staff. We started with the crab cakes, followed by the pomegranate salad, scallops and the pork chop. Such great food and the service was excellent!!

Scott S.

Yelp
Appearances can be deceiving. If I hadn't seen a story on the wall that this was it's 6th year of business I would have thought it was still in the stage of trying to get things right. While the ambiance is upscale the food didn't turn out to be. The baked Brie was over baked and melted flat on the plate. My Pesto Penne Pasta was, in reality, an Alfredo with dried basil was mixed in. Sadly the Alfredo was over ladled into the pasta so it was soupy thickened with clumps of Parmesan.

Troy S.

Yelp
I finally got to eat at this place. Our theater group booked the place. We were asked to order 2 days ahead of time. Hmmmm? We did. My wife had the elk burger, I had lasagne. A woman across from me had the duck breast. Lots of variety around the table. My lasagne was poor. almost no noodles. Mostly runny sauce. My wife's elk burger might have been good. Too much bacon and other things. Lots of cheese on the fries. Overall the prices are a bit high, the service is poor. They needed 2 servers to give good service to a completely full place. I am not likely to go back.

Lynni M.

Yelp
Loved the grilled peach salad!! So unique and tasty! Loved the ribeye dinner and the cauliflower fritto too. You might call it Art for the taste buds!!

Deeya A.

Yelp
I saw these reviews that complained of the waitress but I could not disagree more. We came here at 8 thinking it closes at 10, but it actually closes at 9. She made sure we weren't sure and the chef himself came into make sure we had our food accommodations correct! Additionally the food was AMAZING! I loved the Chicken Marsala

Pamalin P.

Yelp
Amazing food great people, great service, supportive of local artists at no cost to the artist. Small cozy atmosphere with great live musicians, classy yet casual perfect for Redding

Becky H.

Yelp
I went to dinner with my family as we have many times to this establishment... this time we experienced something horrible... the chef Mike was screaming at a young teenage female waitress in a very threatening manner! I have never witnessed something like this while dining, my husband almost intervened because it was that bad.. as a parent It broke my heart to hear... not sure what type of owner/management would allow such a thing... It has always been good food and service but we won't be returning after seeing that... I feel horrible for that young girl, nobody should ever have to work in that type of environment..

Lisa L.

Yelp
Absolutely delectable! I had a small appetite and selected the cold Asian pork appetizer and pear salad. My husband loved his elk burger. I have been here twice before and never dissatisfied with the food, service, of atmosphere. Great date night destination!

Lucy A.

Yelp
Beautiful food! Great service! Highly recommend! The short ribs were delicious and the panna cotta was gorgeous. Thanks for having us.
