Party of three for dinner on a Thursday nights make sure to make reservations in advance. My pops grew up in the area so he knows everything about this place since this pace used to be a garment factory or something similar. Now with this modernization, and with this great food, this place has definitely become our fav. Servers are attentive, everyone seemed to be friendly including hostess. Orange 🍊 juice was freshly squeezed. Pops and mom loved their red wine 🍷. They serve bread to begin with and can be asked for more. We had cheesy appetizers which I forgot the name. For our dinner we got chicken, fish and lamb. The quantity is pretty good, they can be shared or individually served. They also provide a free house dessert for birthdays. Everything was great. 😊

Originally we we're looking for food nearby a friends house and some how found this place on the map. They claimed that food per a person usually comes out to around $10 to $20 but that's wrong this a swanky style type of restaurant. They also suggest that you make a reservation, so of course I called in to see if I would even be able to get a sit down table for six and if they serve kids type meals, I was told if I make it within an hour as that's their cut off time. We arrived and had to wait a few minutes for a non-high seat table. But that's not what bothered me first off, there was a fishy smell throughout the restaurant. I believe you shouldn't smell fish even if they sell seafood dishes. I got the 14oz rib eye medium rare, as they suggested. It arrived last of all the other things and was delightfully done right. The slight cheeesy cream stuff they added on top complimented the natural beefy flavors. The vegetables weren't overly overcooked but were somewhat softer than expected. My wife got the salmon and she said it was great, even though she didn't finish it all. I tried some and it was just too fishy for me. The kids got Alfredo pasta with different noodle styles they liked it. Overall it was good food, overpriced but good. If you're looking for a fancy swanky restaurant this is the place. They have wave to open front doors. They auto charged me an 18% gratuity for large party, w.e I wanted to tip cash but they tacked that on the bill and had the audacity to ask for more but try and hide that auto gratuity already charged. It was a nice first try but I don't think I'll be back unless it's for a family event situation.

Tried Paradiso for the first time. Loved the neighborhood vibe. Cute area. Nice esthetic inside Modern with a combo of rustic and industrial. The hostess was nice, and the server was nice as well. The specials were listed on a sheet, but the waiter didn't describe them or make any suggestions as to what is most popular. That was disappointing. The calamari appetizer came before the drinks. It was a heavy breading that overpowered the tender calamari, but it was still good. The jumbo shrimp cocktail was fresh and delicious. The celery salad underneath was something I've never had before. The celery was so crisp and mild with no strings and fresh parsley on top tossed in a champagne vinegarette. It was the crunchiest most crisp celery I've ever had. The ice bed underneath must keep it at an almost frozen state. It was delicious. The arancini was very good. Light and delicate and not greasy. The tomatoes underneath were seasoned with a garlic olive oil that was tasty but too strong to eat with the arancini. It wasn't fishy at all and was light and tasty. The drinks were very good. Balanced and nicely done. We didn't get any bread, so there's no rating on that. The ravioli special was not what I was expecting in the least. It was supposed to be a handmade ravioli with asparagus and tomatoes in a lemon browned butter sauce. It arrived as a wet brothy dish with no taste of lemon and definitely no browned butter aspect. It was like a ravioli primavera with bland vegetables. The filling in the ravioli's had little to no flavor. At least it was al dente but really lacked flavor and presentation. The pork chop was a nice thick cut and was moist, but the cippolini onions were non-existent, and it was a bit salty overall. The frutti de mare was the hit of the table. Plentiful ingredients and very tasty. Of all the dishes it was the most worthy of the price. The carrot cake (no picture sorry) was pretty good but not sure it was worth $15. It was moist and the flavors were balanced but the cream cheese frosting was a bit too mellow and we prefer a more rustic chunky carrot cake. The glazed walnuts were a nice touch. Overall, it was a nice dinner with friends. We were sat by the end of the bar away from the door and it was a bit warm compared to the front of the house but still enjoyable. The staff seemed a little thin. We didn't see our waiter much but he was having to clear tables as well as be the waiter of more tables than he probably could be attentive to. For the price of over $100 each, I think we would choose a different restaurant next time. There are so many to choose from in the East Bay that might better deserve that price point. If we went back, we may avoid the pricey entrees and just get drinks and apps.

My first time here!!! Didn't have a reservation because it was a spur of the moment stop in. The Host offered a high top seating which yay thank you for accommodating us without a reservation 🌹Ran into a friend and sat at the back bar instead. Server was very nice and professional. Offered specials and knew the answers to all of my questions. Chef sent out some really yummy deviled eggs. Sooooo good!! Thank you Chef! We tried quite a few appetizers, and 2 deserts. All were exceptional and tasty and at a perfect temperature. Did I mention the breads yet? The olive sourdough and rosemary breads were house made and divine 🤩I had to ask for a second bread plate to sop up all the juices on the plates because everything was so good. We are really looking forward to making a reservation next time and coming in for a planned dinner soon. Thank you for making our first experience there outstanding,

Was it restaurant week? The food was awesome. The drinks and desserts were great. All in all, it was a really good experience; I will definitely come again.

This is a nice restaurant with great vibes. The staff were friendly & welcoming & our waitress Erin was terrific! The food was truly delicious.

Google
The vibe here is elegant but not stuffy, perfect for a nice dinner out. The seafood pasta was loaded with flavor, and the steak was cooked perfectly. The service was attentive, though a bit slow when the place got busy. The cocktails were well-made, and the desserts were worth saving room for. The ambiance is warm and inviting, great for a date night or special occasion. A bit on the pricey side, but the quality makes it worth it.

Food was exceptional. Service was attentive. Mentioned in reservation that my line sisters and I were celebrating an anniversary and they surprised us with a special treat.

Yelp
Paradiso Restaurant located on Bancroft is serving the best Italian American food in San Leandro. Great place for a date night with a nice modern and clean ambiance. Plenty of seating is available in multiple dining areas, as well as a very large bar area. The menu is quite extensive both in the wine and cocktail selections as well as the food options. There are seasonal specials, brunch menu on the weekends, prix fixe menu in the evening, dessert menu, etc. I ordered a variety of food: 14 OZ GRILLED PRIME RIBEYE & EGGS O/D CAGE FREE ORGANIC EGGS / Crispy Sicilian Breakfast Potatoes. The steak was tender and flavorful. I had the eggs cooked sunny side up. The potatoes were cooked nicely as well. PEPPERONI & CRIMINI MUSHROOM PIZZA D/G/O San Marzano Tomato Sauce / Marinated Mozzarella Fresca. The pizza was delicious and had a very thin crust. So if you enjoy the flavor of good pizza without the extra carbs, the pizza at Paradiso pizza is perfect. RIGATONI BOLOGNESE VG/D/O Homemade Red Wine Sugo: Wagyu Beef - Veal - Italian Sausage / Reggiano Parmesan / Basil. Believe it or not, I think this my favorite dish. While all the food was good, this red sauce with meat along with the rigatoni cooked al dente was awesome. CAESAR SALAD G/S/D/VG Baby Hearts of Romaine / Focaccia Garlic Croutons/ Parmesan Cheese /Shallots /Spanish White Anchovies. This was one of the best salads I've ever had. Very tasty along with the fresh anchovies. Tiramisu: excellent dessert. I highly recommend. The service was superb. The staff were all very friendly. Paradiso is a must visit for great Italian American food.

Yelp
Great pasta, can tell it's made in the restaurant. Seafood fettuccini is one of the best I've had. Good place to eat for festive occasions. Overall good service and fancier feeling with the glass walled wine room in the back part.

Yelp
Beautiful environment & exceptional service make this a great location for a nice meal. Our waitress was exceptional! I'm sure it was challenging to handle my table because I was so busy talking to my guest. But, she was a pro.. regularly checking in and moved the dinner with no delays when I came up for air. The appetizers ordered were good & great. Caesar salad, Clam Chowder, and the great crab & avacado salad. Main dish was.. not quite..I had the seafood fettuccine. The seafood was cooked perfectly, unfortunately the pasta was under cooked (I'd say by 3min). Not a mistake that should be made. Other dish was ravioli... both pasta dishes were taken home. 2 min in the microwave fixed the pasta. Would probably order a different main for future, but really enjoyed the overall of this restaurant.

Yelp
Came here to celebrate my birthday! We were seated in the back. It's a nice space. Food came out quickly and tasted good. I look forward to returning and trying out more food items.

Yelp
Paradiso in San Leandro is a gem. The steak was incredibly flavorful -- cooked perfectly and packed with taste in every bite. The service was top notch: friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. And whatever you do, don't skip the root beer float -- it's the perfect nostalgic treat to end the meal. The vibe is also great, super lively! Can't recommend this place enough!

Yelp
I never knew San Leandro had such a wonderful Italian restaurant until now. Right when you walk it felt like some good things happen here. Our server was Thomas H. shout out to you, thanks for the amazing service! This was by far the best Italian food I have had in years. I can say this with a clear mind because we all tasted each others food. A Few minutes after being seated much of the bar seating was gone. All the while people kept arriving into the main dining area. There was some very nice background music being played, I could swear every song I heard was "my song". This place is a winner!

Yelp
Nice restaurant, older vintage esthetic, my server wasn't attentive at all and made us wait a long time in between check ins so I ended up not ordering an appetizer or drinks, which somewhat put a damper on the experience but I would still come back to try other things. I ordered the seafood pasta. It was pretty bland not much flavor, we were not offered Parmesan cheese and I could tell that was missing. My daughter had the clam chowder. She didn't finish hers but she says she enjoyed it. As far as the restaurant itself, it was a small quant establishment with families enjoying meals together which was nice to see. Parking wasn't too bad either

Yelp
With outstanding food and customer service, Paradiso is a San Leandro neighborhood gem! If you're looking for an upscale spot to enjoy a good dinner and drinks or to celebrate a special occasion, you've come to the right spot. I haven't had a dish here that didn't hit the spot. If you're unsure, be sure to ask your server for recommendations. Looking forward to the next time I come back!

Yelp
Dinner in San Leandro, California... I was with my cousin and his wife who recommended that we dine at Paradiso Restaurant... okay! One good thing was that there's free metered street parking after 6pm. The interior of the restaurant was quite elegant and nicely air-conditioned! We had: Tempura Portobello Mushrooms with Chimichuri sauce, Fried oysters, Crab and Avocado Salad, rack of lamb, and scallops. Wow... fancy, right! For dessert, we shared a Peach and Blueberry Cobbler with vanilla gelato... and black cherry and chocolate gelato... it was a sweet ending to a wonderful meal! Service was top notch! Everything was tasty and had beautiful presentation! Thanks to my cousins for a fabulous experience!

Yelp
We love Paradiso. It's such a local gem. Small parking lot in the back. We never had any issues with service here. They are attentive even during busy times. Complimentary bread (I wish it was served warm and toasty) Food is great here. We tried a variety of items. I will say the pizza is hit or miss sometimes. Our most recent visit the pizza was floppy and wasn't crispy. Full bar and extensive wine list. Drinks are good. They have weekend brunch menu and a special prex fixe menu for $45 daily between 4-5 pm.

Yelp
Great Italian fare prepared authentically and so well. We ordered the Meatball sandwich, the Rigatoni. Bolognese and the Focaccia . The meatball sandwich was so tasty and yet so filling with the bread being the star to keep it so light. The pasta was prepared with great care and the sauce was light and not heavy at all. The focaccia was also very good and the cheese on it was wonderfully delicious. We also tried their ice creams- I had the vanilla which was just so wonderfully light and smooth, just the way I love it. Gotta come here more often!

Yelp
Hello! We came here for our 8th anniversary dinner and brought along our 2 year old. I made a reservation and selected anniversary under special events and requested a high chair in the notes section. The staff were really nice and friendly! They accommodated the high chair and made sure our toddler had a kids water cup and crayons/coloring page right away. The ambiance was also really nice, a little noisy, but not too loud at all. The food was also pretty good, everything tasted fine, but I did have to ask for salt for the ravioli as it didn't have quite enough. Now for the negative side.. although the food was good, it was nothing spectacular. I'm having a difficult time getting behind the cost of it as well. We had the meatballs, the garlic prawns, a kids linguini with butter, the ravioli, the surf and turf with filet mignon sub citrus glazed asparagus for chimichurri vegetables and sub the reduction sauce for the garlic and herb butter, affogato and strawberry shortcake for dessert. The surf and turf ended up with the reduction sauce and they didn't give us the herb butter. The food took a really long time to come out but our server was nice and sent some deviled eggs our way - which were actually delicious! However, all of that came out to about $325?!?! Plus we tipped on top of that. I tried to calculate it out myself using the menu and the only way it works is if the surf and turf price ends up being $150 on its own... that's wildly high for average surf and turf. The mashed potatoes were also lacking in flavor. We ended up not packing the leftovers and only had half the filet since it was drenched in the reduction sauce that we didn't want.. To top it off, we weren't wished a happy anniversary even though it was noted. Which, I totally get in a busy restaurant, but they didn't even ask if it was a special occasion when we were seated. Overall, the apps were the best thing, mains were average and not worth the price, dessert was also average.

Yelp
Late post. It was our first time dining at this restaurant before watching the Barry Manilow's final performance last Friday. It was nice they have a private parking lot on the back of the restaurant. The dining room ambiance was nice. The hostesses were cheerful. Our server Favi (he said it was a Greek name) was nice & with a sense of humor. My friend said his name is short for Fabulous. We all laughed & he said he takes that. There was a pre fixed menu as it was a restaurant week. But we ordered the food from the regular menu. We ordered beers for drinks. Favi recommended the special pizza with peaches & burrata. We got seafood fettuccine, clam chowder soup, eggplant Parmesan to share. Complimentary olive sourdough & rosemary breads were served. The food was so delicious that we ate everything served. When we were eating, Favi told us he will be gone to a meeting for 10 minutes just in case we need him. I asked if he was getting a promotion as a joke. The meeting was in the party room near our table. We heard clapping that looked like there was acknowledgement of employees. That was nice. He kept on checking on us. We did not have a dessert as we wanted to be at the Oakland Arena earlier. All the servers & even the manager were professional & nice. Just a minor glitch, there were food stains on a fork & bowl. The staff replaced them graciously. I recommend this restaurant if you are in the area.

Yelp
Today the five of us came for lunch to celebrate our friend's birthday. This being one of her favorite restaurants. No easy task as we're coming from San Francisco, San Mateo, and Contra Costa counties. I'd been here for dinner a couple of times, but this was my first time for lunch. Ordered- * the braised short rib sliders by three friends * prime rib sandwich by another * I had the linguine seafood pasta. It was delicious. Plentiful variety including scallops, fish, prawns, squid, Dungeness crab, etc. I made three small meals out of this dish. Starters - * calamari fritti - small crispy rings * polenta sticks - three pieces served with diced tomatoes My friend and I both had chocolate martinis. The dessert was a slice of their tiramisu for our birthday girl. The server graciously brought over five spoons. It was a wonderful meal. A parking lot in back of the building. And another lot one block over.

Yelp
Dined here for our 7 yr anniversary. I made a note of it when I made the reservation and they acknowledged it when we arrived which was appreciated. We were shown to our seats and soon after was given olive and focaccia bread. Our waitress was very nice. She asked if we were celebrating an occasion and after telling her brought us some complimentary champagne. We started with drinks and I got a bourbon strawberry drink (can't remember the name of it) and it was very good. For dinner my fiancée ordered Lemon Ricotta raviolis and I got the Chicken Paradiso. The veggies were cooked perfectly. The chicken was nicely seasoned and the sauce was very good. My only gripe was the sauce was kinda liquidly. Everything was great though. Upon paying the bill our waitress gave us a gift card as an anniversary gift. Was expected and extremely generous. Overall great experience!

Never disappointed when dropping by to enjoy dinner at Paradiso. I've been customer for several years. The food, service and ambiance are great.

Yelp
Took a friend here for his birthday and we were pleasantly suprised. It was a crowded Saturday night. I had made reservations the day of, but it is best to make it earlier to get more slot times. I ordered the lamb shank which was very tender, juicy and flavorful. Compared to having another restaurant's lamb shank that week, this outdid it by far. My friend had ordered a prime rib rare but it came out medium and so he sent it back. However since that was the last prime rib, my friend had to order another dish all together. Now what amazed all of us was the level of service displayed by the manager (Allen? Its been a while!) who promptly came by and communicated that they were sorry for the mistake and got a round of drinks for us on the house. Not only that, but he gave my friend a devils egg appetizer dish to snack on while he waited for his rack of lamb (also hit high marks!). Professional communication at the highest of levels. This type of service is what truly makes this place special. Not only did the manager come out to check in on us, the chef also did as well! With great food and even better service, I am a raver of this place. Happy to tell others about this place and I will be coming back for more.

Yelp
I came here the other night with my family for an early dinner. What we ordered clam chowder, golden beet salad, and linguine frutti de mare. My experience with the food was not the best. The golden beet salad had blue cheese. Who puts blue cheese in it. It over powered the beets and not everyone likes blue cheese. It's an acquired taste for sure. The clam chowder was over powered by pieces of bacon. They only gave you 3 shells of clams. Wow. Linguine frutti de mare, was also another sad dish. It literally came out as two dishes. A bowl of soup and boiled linguine noodles on the side. What is this???? They literally poured cioppino in a bowl and called it "frutti de mare" and the boiled block of noodles had pieces of broccoli bits in it. I was literally shocked to see my entree. It was worth the price either. Very disappointed. Will I be back again? No.

Yelp
Celebrating an anniversary & it was such a nice gesture to have received complimentary Champagne & even a gift card. It's been a long time since I've been back & so glad Paradiso is still going strong since 1996. They recently remodeled 9 months ago & it looks so spacious & modern. Orders: Bread (available upon request) Petrale Sole w/capers, spinach & mashed potato- delightfully crisp capers & sole, well seasoned & an item u would reorder again. Everything is so fresh you. An immediately taste the difference. Chicken Paradiso-a creamy chicken dish w.mashed potato, broccoli, string beans & carrots. A well curated dish that is a staple at Paradiso & it's no wonder why bc of the comfort & goodness this dish brings. On another note, when I went to use the restroom, I was intoxicated with bleach & had to hold my breath. While I appreciate the health & safety of the bathroom, I think they need to rethink the toxic hazard that one breathes when using the restroom. But other than that I think Paradiso is a hidden gem in San Leandro.

Yelp
Great and friendly service. It is very spacious and has a variety of seating areas. The red sauce ravioli was phenomenal. The mozzarella one tasted fine. It was gooey and cheesy, which I'm a huge fan of, butttt...the pricing for the amount of ravioli is wild. $30 for like 9 pieces, broo c'mon. I get it, maybe it's for the experience with the great service, good vibes, and the pasta is homemade, but if you're going for pasta, just go to Gypsy's in Berkeley for a fat amount of it. The pasta tasted fine here at Paradiso, but I don't think it's worth coming here for pasta. 4.0 Stars for the restaurant itself 3.5 Star for the pasta

Yelp
My new favorite Italian restaurant! What a gem in San Leandro. We celebrated our wedding anniversary weekend with a show at BAL Theater and decided to try Paradiso for the first time. I would give this local spot a Michelin Star for service and food! Christen gave the most excellent customer service and Martin came out as the som to provide us excellent recommendation with our meal. MAKE RSVP: Walk ins had options for bar. PARKING: Street parking or lot behind restaurant. SEATING: We got seated in the banquet room and I felt like I was in a fancy hotel restaurant - very modern and elevated. COCKTAILS + WINE: Very impressed with selection. Paper Plane & Old Fashion on point, fruit forward. Had a half bottle for entrees. APP: Best olive bread + sea salt focaccia. We also ordered Venetian Arancini (fried risotto balls). ENTREE: If you like red sauce, Fruitti De Mare Linguini. If you like white sauce, Seafood Fettuccini. I took a bite of my husband's Seafood Fettuccini and will definitely get it next time. DESSERT: Bananas Foster Bread Pudding. DELISH. SERVICE: 10/10. Special shout-out to Christen & Martin for above and beyond for making our anniversary so memorable.

Yelp
Amazing food and service! Calamari - lightly battered and fried, seasoning flavorful, calamari tender Garlic prawns - huge prawns, buttery garlic sauce was fully soaked up by bread, can't waste it! Wagyu sliders - OK, out was so juicy that the bottom bun dissolved, maybe a lettuce to block the juice would've been good. Taste wise I didn't feel that it was too special Half chicken - well seasoned and perfectly juicy. Polenta was buttery and veggies nice compliment All cocktails involving mezcal were amazing mixology level Service was very attentive and quick, food came out quick and amazing quality as well Overall a great experience, I'd recommend for special occasions!

Yelp
Quality/Quantity - Personally I think this is one of, if not the best restaurant in SL. We used to be regulars here, but then stopped hanging out in SL. But if you are following, you already know we are BACK. LINGUINI FRUTTI DI MARE - My dish. Generous seafood. Could have used more pasta. Good flavor. A little too "soupy" for me. I like a thicker red sauce. RIGATONI BOLOGNESE - Cooked perfectly, al dente! Thicker red sauce which I preferred. Decent portions. CHICKEN PARADISO - Wow, the chicken was so tender, melted in our mouth. My wife rated this 5 stars, decent portions, no left overs. Good proportions with chicken, veggies, mash potatoes, etc. She finished it all. MOLTEN CHOCOLATE CAKE - Another dish that melted in your mouth. Personally, I prefer a little more texture, a slightly heavier cake. I especially liked the ice cream. TIRAMISU - Another melt-in-your-mouth dish, sensing a theme here...? Again, I prefer a heartier cake and a little more rum flavor. Atmosphere - Open kitchen. Private room available, plus other sections of the restaurant that can be blocked off. Too busy and too many people today (it is the holidays) for me to take pictures. I watched you expand to next door approximately 15+ years ago. Added a bar and more seating. Special events, including wine dinner menus; see website. Sadly no more happy hours. Open 7 days a week. Service - As usual, no matter how busy (or not) they are, they ALWAYS make us wait. The restaurant was less than 30% full when we got here and still had to wait 10 minutes to be seated. The worst part was that there is NO waiting area. So everyone standing around was blocking the door and hosts. Nasser, our waiter, finally warmed up near the end of the meal. But the bus boys/runners did a good job. $45 pre-fix dinner available from 4-5 pm (early bird special, lol). Corkage fee - $35/bottle. Cake cutting fee - $5/pp. Price - $135 + tip. Reasonably priced for quality of food. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1996. We were and will continue to be regular customers. Do you still own the following restaurants: Boulevard Burger? Acapulco (Alameda)? We are still customers of your other brands.

Yelp
PARKING - Street spots, or the back lot. FOOD - Delicious, they import the finest ingredients, as the owner had shared with us as he stopped by. AMBIANCE - Casual, good spot for a date or family party!

Yelp
2.2.25 We came here as a group of 8 to celebrate my 40th birthday!! The place was busy on a Sunday night, we thankfully had a reservation and we didn't have to wait for our table. The bread and water came out right away which was nice. The food...delicious . The lamb with the risotto was delicious. Lamb was not gamey at all. Risotto was perfectly cooked. My 11 year old loved the butternut squash ravioli and the clam chowder. My husband said that his frutti de Mari was delicious-generous with their seafood. The steak was perfectly cooked. The Sangria was..okay. I wish I ordered another drink. To end the night, we ordered molten cake which was delicious, and the complimentary tiramisu is so good!! I'm so happy that they gave me a free dessert to celebrate my birthday, made my night for sure. We would totally come back here again.

We had been there once before for a friend's birthday celebration and chose it for our wedding anniversary dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed the casual neighborhood ambiance, very gratuitous service and delicious food. Costly but we felt worth it so we'll be back.

Yelp
We walked in on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch and there was lots of seating available. Came here for a girls lunch. The attentive staff was great and quick to correct any mishaps or mistakes--it was an issue with our final bill. The food was okay. I ordered a ravioli dish from their lunch specials. There was supposed to be mushrooms in it but they were out of stock so they used arugula instead which was not a good choice at all. The arugula was stir fried in??? and had a very bitter taste. The clam chowder was OUTSTANDING and the other dishes--Calamari and roasted Brussel sprouts and a crab&avocado dish were good. The restroom was clean and moody with low lighting. I'm told this place is a darling in the neighborhood. Maybe it was an off day because I'm not keen on coming back but may give it a second chance. I thought the food was too pricey for what I experienced.

Yelp
Date: 11/26/2024 Time: 6:35 PM Cool The last time I dined at Paradiso was exactly 14 years ago for my 59th birthday. Guess what? I am back to let y'all know I am here again for my 73rd birthday. However, this time around was special, and to be treated like a queen, it was so memorable. I had already perused the menu on Paradiso's before arriving. I knew what specialty I wanted from this Italian restaurant - my usual Arnold Palmer and cioppino. Is the Arnold Palmer still refreshing after all the many years that I have not dined here? I stayed away too long. The Arnold Palmer has passed the test. Every restaurant I had dined at in the past, I always order the "Palmer" to determine if the quality of the food is to my liking. Eats: Cioppino. Yes, I had my share of cioppino at several different restaurants. One of the restaurants in Alameda calls this dish Brodetto Alla Vastese. I love cioppino, a seafood stew, similar to the French bouillabaise. The cioppino was absolutely delicious. The bowl was filled with an assortment of seafood and grilled Italian bread. The tomato baste broth had a slight kick of spiciness. Yum...nom, nom, nom. My date had the Canadian king salmon with an accompaniment of polenta. He enjoyed his dinner. Presentation of his meal had me salivating. I should have stuck my fork in it, just to sneak a taste. Naw, I did not want him to roar like a tiger and say it's mine. LOL. Thereafter I was served a complimentary dessert, tiramisu, a delightful and delicate cake with mascarpone cheese and topped with expresso powder. Okay, another dessert item I had a taste for was the affogato. I haven't had an affogato for about eight years. The affogato is hazelnut or vanilla gelato and dark expresso. It had a pirouette cookie. Wonderful dessert, indeed. Service was great. The waitress was friendly and personable. I am just over joy to have a special birthday dinner at Paradiso. I can't say for sure when I will visit Paradiso again. Buon appetito.

Yelp
Food: 5/5 Exceptional food. I can't resist the seafood fettuccine. Is loaded with seafood. There's crab, lobster, prawns and scallops. Can it get any better than this?? I think not! Service 5/5 I've been coming to Paradiso since 1999. Service has always been a great experience. The servers know the menu and have their personal favorites. Ambiance 5/5 I'd consider the setting mid upscale. Dimly lit. Two seating rooms, each with a bar to order drinks. The restroom is usually clean with nice decor.

Yelp
We ate at the bar on Saturday night. Originally we were just going to get a drink, while we waited for our table. But the vibe was so nice and the bartenders so attentive that we stayed. Full menu at the bar. We had two items from the specials menu- the chopped salad and the puttanesca pasta. The chopped salad was great- just a little too vinegary at the end. But overall very good! The hubby got the apple and prosciutto salad- yum! And he got the rigatoni bolognese- always a favorite for us. Dessert was a treat for my birthday celebration and hubs got the bananas foster- to die for! The bartenders were incredible- very kind, always checking in, and they worked the length of the bar well while also making drinks for all the tables. Always a nice time at Paradiso!

Yelp
Walking in, the restaurant is teeming with a classic design, which matches the art deco style of the building. White table cloths, exposed timber beams, plenty of natural lighting during the day. I will say, the restrooms could benefit from a facelift. Service is very attentive, perhaps a little too much at times. I got the Frutti di Mare, which has a very complex, slightly spicy seafood based broth, and I couldn't pinpoint all of the seasonings (side note, the Frutti & Ciopino are the same, but one comes with pasta & the other with crostini). The pasta selection is a little too delicate for a bowl filled with shellfish; mine kept falling apart when I tried to wrap it around my fork, so perhaps a fettucine or tagliatelle might prevent that. Keep in mind, I rate on a cost to value scale, so this place definitely could be a 5 star for some people, but they're on the pricier end of the spectrum, so I hold them to a higher standard.

Yelp
Had a family party of 15 last night - originally requested a "quiet table" for 14 so we were seated in the very back room. Due to some health issues, the grandparents (hence the "quiet table" request!) cancelled at the last minute so we brought some extra teenagers - whom I am sure no server is ever excited to see. Our server, however, (whose name escapes me but she had a long brown ponytail) was beyond gracious and accommodating. She even had to scramble and have an additional place set when an extra kid showed up - but made it happen with a smile. Between our group, we ordered a good portion of the menu (pizzas, salads, petrale sole, chicken. pork chops, muscles...etc.) and the food was delicious all the way around. Lots of empty plates going back to the kitchen. We have been going to Paradiso since it opened and I can unequivocally say it has never been better. Thank you to our server, the kitchen staff, hosts, bartenders and the entire Paradiso team. We are grateful to have had such a lovely evening and will remember it for years to come!

Yelp
We've been to two of Paradiso's wine pairing dinners in their private room, and both were next level. The first time, we attended the Stag's Leap event and didn't know what to expect. We walked in, were welcomed with warm greetings all around, and sat down with a small group of strangers who, by the end of the night, felt like dinner party friends. The wine was flowing. The pours were generous (they topped you off before you could even ask), and the winemakers were there to talk us through each bottle. The food was thoughtfully paired, beautifully presented, and sooo delicious. The chefs came out to talk about their dishes, and you could tell that this team truly cares about their craft. We had such a great experience the first time around that we went back again last night for the Patz & Hall event, and somehow it was even better. The winemaker hosted, shared stories, and made the whole thing feel more personal. And the food blew us away. We ate like royalty. Every pairing hit. Complex flavors, perfect pacing, stunning presentation. We left full, happy, a little (ok a lot) buzzed, and already can't wait for the next event. Also can we talk about the value?? For the quality of food, the amount of wine (seriously, you will not leave thirsty), and the overall experience? It's such a steal! If Paradiso's hosting another dinner, run don't walk. It's the best dinner party in town!

Yelp
This review is long overdue because, honestly, I've never had a bad experience at Paradiso. Every visit has been consistently excellent--the food is always cooked to perfection, and the service is always a solid 10. It's one of those rare places where you know you're going to leave satisfied, every single time. On my most recent visit, I tried the seafood pasta for the first time, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The flavors were spot on, and the seafood was fresh and perfectly cooked. We also ordered the prime rib sandwich, which was incredibly flavorful and tender--definitely something I'd get again. The only item we were a little unsure about was the deviled eggs. They weren't bad by any means, just had a unique taste that might not be for everyone--and I've tried quite a few deviled eggs in my time! As for drinks, mine was so perfectly made that I ended up ordering a second one. It hit all the right notes without being too strong or too sweet. Overall, Paradiso continues to be a standout right in San Leandro. Great food, great drinks, relaxing vibe, and amazing service. A definite go-to spot in my book!

Yelp
I came here recently for a date night with my wife. Paradiso is just an all around great restaurant. Ton of variety on the menu, amd everything is good. On this visit we shared a wedge salad which was excellent. I tried to order the Prime Rib, but they were already out even though it was only 7:30. That was a bummer. I ended up with The Rib Eye which was fantastic. Perfectly cooked medium rare with an herb butter. The sides were baked potato and mixed vegetables which were both good. My wife enjoyed her salmon. Drinks were on point. I had an old fashioned and a Pliny The Elder. Nice job having that beer. My wife loved her Raspberry Lemon Drop and Espresso Martini. Service was friendly and efficient. Paradiso is a great local restaurant. I will definitely continue to come back. Highly Recommended.

Yelp

Yelp
Came here for a date with my fiancé and it's been over 4 years since I was here. The ambience was nice and intimate. The people around was were friendly too. Our server was wonderful and attentive, but I unfortunately forgot her name. She was helpful and provided us with everything we needed. The food was so delicious. I love how the menu was different and they source a lot of their ingredients from locals. We ordered the avocado and crab appetizer, which was pleasantly delicious. The avocado and fruits was able to provide a freshness and the crabs was fresh. The pasta I order was delicious with so much seafood. The lamb my fiancé ordered was cooked a bit over medium-rare but it was still good too. Perfect location for a date or special occasion and it's great it's in San Leandro.

Yelp
Let's start with the good - food is fire! Prime rib was tender and the seafood fettuccine had a good amount of seafood in a sauce that was rich and yet light at the same time. The food by itself deserves a 4/5 star review! Unfortunately...much of the rest of the experience left much to be desired. Upon first glance, Paradiso looks like a classy, high(er) end restaurant, but when we were seated I couldn't help but notice that there was smushed food on the ground right next to our table and a bunch of crumbs on the chairs. It was also curious to me that we were sat right next to two other couples in fairly cramped spaces (no private conversations happening here folks) when the restaurant was no where full, but perhaps there's operating restrictions? Cleanliness issued applied to the bathroom as well which is poorly lit and had papers smattered across the ground. Not a deal breaker...just doesn't align with the dining experience one would expect for a dinner that cost well above $100/2 ppl. Perhaps the most upsetting part of our dining experience though was the service....our server was just very, very, very slow. We were assigned an older gentleman that seemed friendly enough and yet it took a good 15 minutes+ to get our orders taken. Then after dinner, it took another 20+ minutes to get our to-go boxes and check (and this is AFTER we had requested the bill and the server had taken our leftovers to pack). My dad was so agitated wondering where our server went that he was ready to march up to the counter when he caught a different server and asked her for help instead. The ladies dining next to us overheard the whole thing (again, no personal space here...) and started talking to us about how long they had been waiting for service as well when we confirmed we were assigned the same staff. It's clear there's an ongoing issue here as the second server that helped us said we should leave comments for management and gave me a knowing look. I took the comment card home thinking the QR code would take me to a survey but it just took me to their website so I guess I'm hoping this reaches the right eyes as the dining experience could have been a 5-star were it not for some of these disappointing details. I'd give it another go for the next special occassion, but I'm really hoping to have a better all-round experience. TBD....

Yelp
Decent amount of seating. The place seemed popular. They've got a big menu with lots of options including lamb, prime rib, lobster, pizzas, pasta, and other protein options. The desert menu was a nice selection also. They've got a full bar. Our server was very friendly. The ravioli was not very good: sauce way too thin and the ravioli dough too thick and not cooked enough. Brussels sprouts were excellent and pizza was surprisingly light.

Yelp
This place is a San Leandro staple. One of the best restaurants in the city. Food is great and part of the menu changes with the seasons. Service is wonderful with polite and helpful staff. The ambiance is nice with spacious seating. Today my only gripe is there were gnats or fruit flies, not a lot but enough where it bothered the eating experience. It's not always like this, I've been here more than a few times and today was the only time I experienced it. Had the eggs Benedict with the black forest ham and it very tasty. Later we had the sundae and apple pie a La mode and that also didn't disappoint.

Yelp
I came here to eat with family and food was hot and decent. Price is a little high for the amount for each dish and the quality. Caesar salad was really wet and salty. Lamb chops were nice and juicy. My husband said that was his favorite. Prime rib was very tender and flavorful. Oven baked ravioli was dry and had only a few pieces for a steep price. Pizza and calamari was decent. Service was good as the waitress kept coming to the table to check in on us to make sure we got our food. Ambiance is dim. Tables are crowded together so it feels a little tight.

Yelp
This is my favorite rib-eye steak restaurant in San Leandro. My fiancé took me here for my birthday and surprised me with a ring and proposal. They also have really great fried oysters and calamari. The servers are really great at pairing the wines. The fire grilled pizzas are amazing as well. Beautiful views from the windows. Call and make a reservation.

Yelp
A lovely restaurant to enjoy popular Paradiso pasta dishes, specials of the day and other entrees listed on their Saturday brunch menu. Service is attentive. I would consider Paradiso a neighborhood gem.

Yelp
Such a little gem in San Leandro. The place doesn't look like much during the day but at night when lights are lit with candle on every single table, it gives such a nice and formal ambiance. The restaurant was packed on a weekday evening. Service was great and attentive. The food was pretty good as well. Cioppino was a bit lighter and the seafood was okay. Ribeye was well seasoned. Will definitely come back here again

Yelp
We came for Valentine's Day and had a prix fixe dinner for 2 and it was great! Each course was excellent with lots of seafood. The crab & avocado app was a huge pile of fresh avocado and crab. The amuse bouche was a shot of creamy lobster bisque. The crab ravioli was in a super tasty sauce with big raviolis stuffed full of crab chunks. The surf & turf main had a giant 12 oz lobster tail that had just a bit of nice char on it from the brick oven. The steak was a nice little filet though it was more medium than the medium rare that we actually ordered (in fact, the steak was the least good item at dinner!). Dessert was a nice, super light chocolate lava cake with a sugar cookie and vanilla ice cream on the side. We also got a couple cocktails which were super tasty. One was a rum & campari & pineapple drink that had great flavors. The other was a dirty martini with the Roquefort stuffed olives. Both were quite good, though maybe a bit pricer than they should have been. The ambiance was nice, especially for Valentine's Day. Each table got a long stem rose and each person got a complimentary glass of champagne. The service was a bit slow at times, but overall not bad.

Yelp
Dropped in for a late dinner. The entire experience was better than I expected. The vibe was classy, low level noise, white table cloth, professional service. The waitstaff put the cloth in my lap when I was started. After reviewing the menu and hearing the special of the day, I knew exactly what I wanted but first I started with an Old Fashion, it was well made. Next for appetizer was the garlic prawns, so good, full of flavors of garlic, herb and butter. Also ordered crab & avocado tower, delicious and fresh. The main meal was the seafood fettuccine, with pieces of scallops, lobster and shrimp. It was a huge portion. This was the goodness. There is a full bar inside also. I was pleasantly surprised. Excellent experience

Yelp
This place lives up to the name! Pretty semi-classy(?) vibes with very attentive host. The service was exceptional and the food was exquisite as well. We ordered the short braised ribs and the seafood fettucine for the two of us and the portions were large enough to fill the both of us. Very good and my favorite were the ribs!!

Yelp
I have always heard such amazing reviews about Paradiso! I am so happy I dined here last night with one of my close friend. We both decided to order their baked ravioli and seasonal squash ravioli. Oh boy both were so good! I'm still thinking about their squash ravioli. The sauce was tangy, velvety, and just so bomb! Ahhh so happy, I wait to come back soon! Our server Caroline was the sweetest person ever! She provided so many good recs and was on point with her service. When I come back I want Caroline has my server again! Such an amazing experience overall!

Yelp
Cool old school vibe at this restaurant. Excellent service throughout our meal! Drinks were delicious and they have a good wine list. Food was good. Good flavors and generous portions. Had the shrimp appetizer and the ravioli for my main. Solid food, but wasn't completely blown away. Bread was a bit stale.
