Let’s start with the positives: the dessert was mind-blowing. We celebrated my birthday here and chose the prix fixe meal. Everything looked visually appealing, but as a foodie, I genuinely did not find the dishes flavorful or worth the hype. The owner was courteous and did make a round to check on guests, which I appreciated. Now the issues: $45 per person felt like a complete waste of money, and I’m someone who happily spends on good food. The water glass smelled bad, which was an immediate red flag. We were seated right by the door, and every time it opened, freezing wind blew in. Both kids and adults fell sick afterward, my birthday week is spent in sickness. We politely requested a change of seating. The host even prepared another table, but a different waitress later denied it, claiming “no space,” despite the restaurant being visibly empty. I also feel we were overcharged on a fixed-price menu. I asked for a copy of the bill, waited over six minutes, and still wasn’t provided one. We eventually had to leave because the kids were freezing. If there were a way to demand a refund, I would. Since that’s not an option, let me be clear: I do NOT recommend this place, except for the dessert.

My husband (was fiance at the time of this event) and I reserved Paradiso for our wedding rehearsal dinner. The reservation process was easy as I completed their inquiry form online and coordinated via email. The restaurant was beautiful, and Nicole - our server who took care of us the entire night was absolutely attentive and wonderful! Due to our larger party of 20 guests, we had a prix fixe menu. All of the food we were served was absolutely delicious. I also loved their wonderful selection of drinks. It was a perfect place to gather family and friends to celebrate. We are so thankful to Eric, the owner and his team at Paradiso for an enjoyable night!

Party of three for dinner on a Thursday nights make sure to make reservations in advance. My pops grew up in the area so he knows everything about this place since this pace used to be a garment factory or something similar. Now with this modernization, and with this great food, this place has definitely become our fav. Servers are attentive, everyone seemed to be friendly including hostess. Orange 🍊 juice was freshly squeezed. Pops and mom loved their red wine 🍷. They serve bread to begin with and can be asked for more. We had cheesy appetizers which I forgot the name. For our dinner we got chicken, fish and lamb. The quantity is pretty good, they can be shared or individually served. They also provide a free house dessert for birthdays. Everything was great. 😊

Originally we we're looking for food nearby a friends house and some how found this place on the map. They claimed that food per a person usually comes out to around $10 to $20 but that's wrong this a swanky style type of restaurant. They also suggest that you make a reservation, so of course I called in to see if I would even be able to get a sit down table for six and if they serve kids type meals, I was told if I make it within an hour as that's their cut off time. We arrived and had to wait a few minutes for a non-high seat table. But that's not what bothered me first off, there was a fishy smell throughout the restaurant. I believe you shouldn't smell fish even if they sell seafood dishes. I got the 14oz rib eye medium rare, as they suggested. It arrived last of all the other things and was delightfully done right. The slight cheeesy cream stuff they added on top complimented the natural beefy flavors. The vegetables weren't overly overcooked but were somewhat softer than expected. My wife got the salmon and she said it was great, even though she didn't finish it all. I tried some and it was just too fishy for me. The kids got Alfredo pasta with different noodle styles they liked it. Overall it was good food, overpriced but good. If you're looking for a fancy swanky restaurant this is the place. They have wave to open front doors. They auto charged me an 18% gratuity for large party, w.e I wanted to tip cash but they tacked that on the bill and had the audacity to ask for more but try and hide that auto gratuity already charged. It was a nice first try but I don't think I'll be back unless it's for a family event situation.

Full, loud, and good food. I had a tomato salad and the cioppino. The scallops were the star and they put enough in the bowl. Good spice, nice dinner.

My first time here!!! Didn't have a reservation because it was a spur of the moment stop in. The Host offered a high top seating which yay thank you for accommodating us without a reservation 🌹Ran into a friend and sat at the back bar instead. Server was very nice and professional. Offered specials and knew the answers to all of my questions. Chef sent out some really yummy deviled eggs. Sooooo good!! Thank you Chef! We tried quite a few appetizers, and 2 deserts. All were exceptional and tasty and at a perfect temperature. Did I mention the breads yet? The olive sourdough and rosemary breads were house made and divine 🤩I had to ask for a second bread plate to sop up all the juices on the plates because everything was so good. We are really looking forward to making a reservation next time and coming in for a planned dinner soon. Thank you for making our first experience there outstanding,

Tried Paradiso for the first time. Loved the neighborhood vibe. Cute area. Nice esthetic inside Modern with a combo of rustic and industrial. The hostess was nice, and the server was nice as well. The specials were listed on a sheet, but the waiter didn't describe them or make any suggestions as to what is most popular. That was disappointing. The calamari appetizer came before the drinks. It was a heavy breading that overpowered the tender calamari, but it was still good. The jumbo shrimp cocktail was fresh and delicious. The celery salad underneath was something I've never had before. The celery was so crisp and mild with no strings and fresh parsley on top tossed in a champagne vinegarette. It was the crunchiest most crisp celery I've ever had. The ice bed underneath must keep it at an almost frozen state. It was delicious. The arancini was very good. Light and delicate and not greasy. The tomatoes underneath were seasoned with a garlic olive oil that was tasty but too strong to eat with the arancini. It wasn't fishy at all and was light and tasty. The drinks were very good. Balanced and nicely done. We didn't get any bread, so there's no rating on that. The ravioli special was not what I was expecting in the least. It was supposed to be a handmade ravioli with asparagus and tomatoes in a lemon browned butter sauce. It arrived as a wet brothy dish with no taste of lemon and definitely no browned butter aspect. It was like a ravioli primavera with bland vegetables. The filling in the ravioli's had little to no flavor. At least it was al dente but really lacked flavor and presentation. The pork chop was a nice thick cut and was moist, but the cippolini onions were non-existent, and it was a bit salty overall. The frutti de mare was the hit of the table. Plentiful ingredients and very tasty. Of all the dishes it was the most worthy of the price. The carrot cake (no picture sorry) was pretty good but not sure it was worth $15. It was moist and the flavors were balanced but the cream cheese frosting was a bit too mellow and we prefer a more rustic chunky carrot cake. The glazed walnuts were a nice touch. Overall, it was a nice dinner with friends. We were sat by the end of the bar away from the door and it was a bit warm compared to the front of the house but still enjoyable. The staff seemed a little thin. We didn't see our waiter much but he was having to clear tables as well as be the waiter of more tables than he probably could be attentive to. For the price of over $100 each, I think we would choose a different restaurant next time. There are so many to choose from in the East Bay that might better deserve that price point. If we went back, we may avoid the pricey entrees and just get drinks and apps.

Service was exceptional! Food was on point, from the apps to the entrees. Drinks were delicious. On the pricier side, but WORTH IT!!! 👌🏼

Quality/Quantity - Today we got the following: King Salmon - Single serving size, but my light eater friend was still not able to finish?!?! I think he had a huge snack prior to dinner. Braised Short Rib - Two orders. Melted in your mouth, so tender. I was impressed that my wife not only ordered this, but finished it. Ribeye Steak 14 oz - This looked more than 14oz, thank you. My usual order, but I went with the lamb today. I was really impressed that our guest finished this! The ribeye was cooked perfectly, but she said it was a little tough. Butternut Squash Ravioli - My daughter got the seasonal ravioli. Another surprise for me. I think my daughter and wife switched diets?!?! Single portion size, my daughter finished with no problems. Rack of Lamb - I asked for medium, it came medium rare. Still good. Generous portions. I gave a leg to my daughter and surprised myself with being able to eat the other 5 legs. MOLTEN CHOCOLATE CAKE - Another dish that melted in your mouth. Personally, I prefer a little more texture, a slightly heavier cake. I especially liked the ice cream. We were all so full and all shared just one dessert. As usual, all foods were good. And we appreciated not being rushed. Ambiance - Open kitchen. Private room available, plus other sections of the restaurant that can be blocked off. Too busy and too many people today (it is the holidays) for me to take pictures. I watched you expand to next door approximately 15+ years ago. Added a bar and more seating. Special events, including wine dinner menus; see website. Sadly no more happy hours. Open 7 days a week. Service - NO waiting today. We got seated right away when we entered, this might have been the first time, lol. Our server was very patient with us. We have not seen our good friends in a long time, so it was very good to catch up. Never any pressure to leave. Price - $365 which includes an 18% gratuity. Expensive but worth it. As mentioned before, this is one of my favorite high end restaurants in SL. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1996. We were and will continue to be regular customers. Do you still own the following restaurants: Boulevard Burger? Acapulco (Alameda)? We are still customers of your other brands.

My cousin recommended this restaurant during our visit and it wasn't a bad choice at all. You do have to make reservations or might have to wait a while. Parking is a bit difficult as since you have to search around the neighborhood. So if you have a big party it might be better to carpool. So we got there right on time and our table was ready. The inside wasn't too fancy. It is an open kitchen where you can see the chefs work their magic. I think because of this concept you could smell the aroma and it made the scenery more homely. Our host and servers were very kind and knowledgeable of the menu. We ordered a pepperoni pizza which was pretty big in size and it was definitely more Italian style where it wasn't thick because of the dough. Ordered a seafood pasta which smelled and tasted delicious and fresh. Also ordered 2 pasta dishes with meat now this was interesting because it came out really spicy. Something I've never experienced in an Italian restaurant. It was flavorful but my cousin could not tolerate the spice level and the staff was able to make her a new one with much less spice. The cocktails were very good too. Ordered an old fashion which tasted pretty normal like how other restaurants make it. But the earl gray martini was unique. Was able to smell and taste the earl gray prominently and while still able to taste the other flavors of citrus and honey. This experience was really good. Definitely recommend it

I put in a large order to share with family through DoorDash. I'm on a fixed income and this is the only restaurant I will order a meal from or eat in because this restaurant still uses quality product and ingredients. Their food is fresh and delicious and it's always packaged well when I get it . The party so chicken piccata is a large chicken breast with mashed potatoes and it's generous and portions and can be shared with two people . The house made sea salt focaccia bread is very soft, very fresh with a delicious little packet of butter . Even the crème brûlée is homemade with good ingredients and is. The garlic prawns and the beet salad were yummy. If you haven't tried this place give them a try. You will be glad you did. Bon appétit

So good! We've passed by so many times and never tried . I'm So glad we did for my husband's birthday . We sat in the back and it was so cozy . Def will become a regular here with our date nights . Service was great as well for a rainy and busy night !

We came here on a weekend evening and were surprised at the huge line. This place was packed for the holidays and filled with groups of friends. We were seated at our reservation time of 6:15 pm, but had to wait in the front near the host stand with barely any room to stand. Not sure how that's not a fire hazard since you could barely squeeze through, and I'm sure if it weren't so cold outside most people would be standing outside. We ordered the Pineapple Express drink, the roasted Brussel sprouts for the appetizer, the Parisian Chicken, and the Roasted Manila Clams with Linguine. The food was just okay. The Brussel sprouts had a nice roast to them, but they were a little bland -- without the mayo-type sauce, it wouldn't have been very tasty at all. The chicken was a little dry and not as good as hoped, though there was plenty of sauce. The proportion of veggies and mashed potatoes to chicken was smaller than I would have hoped. The clams were also fine, but the portion of pasta was tiny, which I was surprising. The fresh bread that it came with was on the small side and did not taste fresh. Overall for the price we paid, we weren't super impressed. Our waiter was very kind and helpful though.

I hadn't been to one of my trusted favorite spots(Paradiso) for a while, so we stopped on Sunday night! There is ample parking and the area is well lit! The restaurant looks very festive for the holidays! Great decision, we were quickly seated in the bar where Sunday night football was on! We settled in Quickly and enjoyed an Earl Grey Tini! I'm told it was delicious! We also enjoyed a mixed green salad, a Caesar salad and focaccia bread and garlic prawns. Everything was delicious as usual and Paradiso remains a can't miss spot for dinner and appetizers!

I am surprised I don't have a review for Paradiso Restaurant as my wife and family have been coming here for years! Hmmm... A nice and elegant restaurant with a coziness atmosphere. The service is super friendly, welcoming, and welcoming. They do have a tiny lot, otherwise it's street parking mostly. The wood-fired pizzas, pasta dishes, seafood, and steaks are delicious. You will find something to enjoy!

We didn't have a reservation, but we wanted to dine at Paradiso on Saturday night. The staff welcomed us warmly and treated us with absolute care and respect. The owner personally checked on us several times, which made the experience even more special. The portions were more than generous ,we tried the steak and some cocktails, and both were excellent. The drinks were amazing, and you could tell the chef carefully selected every ingredient in the dishes. The restaurant itself was spotless, with a modern and elegant atmosphere. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience from start to finish. Highly Recommended

11/7/25 Drinks and Food overall was mixed feelings. (3) Sprite - it was just carbonated water. It was missing the sprite syrup. We let our server know and they did swap out all the beverages after confirming it was off. (2) Old fashion drinks came out a bit sweet but descent. (2) Pineapple Express cocktails were sparkling and sweet 3/5 Calamari was not on menu but we asked and was able to order it! Yay! Came out heavily battered and crispy. 3.5/5 Clam chowder was a tad runny vs thick chowder, flavor was there but felt more like a soup and didn't have too much in it. 3/5 Short rib was very pot roasty like others have said. You can taste the meat but was on salty side 3/5 chicken piccata was overall ok. Chicken was thin and citrusy with capers over mash. 3.5/5 ribeye was asked to be medium rare but came out medium. 3/5 Mary's roasted chicken was a bit dry and salty. Restaurant was super busy and a good ambiance for this area. For us, Overall 3.5/5 Food 3/5 Service 5/5 Thank you Thomas! It was easy to get a same-day reservation on Sunday night for six people. It was a busy restaurant, but we got seated at a high top in the back. The service was excellent and our waiter as well as several other people from the restaurant came in and checked on us. We ordered several items off the menu as well as the special corn ravioli with additional scallops, which was my favorite item from the menu. The mussels are a little bit salty so I probably wouldn't get that the next time. The seafood fettuccine was also good but a little bit watery in terms of the sauce which I wasn't expecting. The heirloom tomato salad was also a seven out of 10. The other star of the night was the burrata and beet salad. Definitely would go again for a date night dinner or girls night dinner.

Straight to the point..... Seafood Fettuccine and short rib hash were good....Paradiso cosmos meh, not much taste just alcohol so I didn't order the second round like I usually do We went on Sunday lunch time so it wasn't busy otherwise it would have felt cramped since tables were set very close to each other due to the limited space. Our server was ok, could have been more friendly and welcoming.

I wanted to have a relaxed early dinner, so I decided to stop by Paradiso and sat at the bar. Quianna B. greeted me warmly, which set a nice tone for the evening. She suggested I try the Italian red wine first--thankfully she did, because it turned out to be sour and unpleasant. I switched to white instead, which was much better. The meals themselves were pretty bland, but I did enjoy the parmesan truffle fries once they were redone to be extra crispy, just the way I requested. Overall, I mainly wanted to share this experience because of the drink that's Quianna's specialty. The service was excellent!

Paradiso Restaurant located on Bancroft is serving the best Italian American food in San Leandro. Great place for a date night with a nice modern and clean ambiance. Plenty of seating is available in multiple dining areas, as well as a very large bar area. The menu is quite extensive both in the wine and cocktail selections as well as the food options. There are seasonal specials, brunch menu on the weekends, prix fixe menu in the evening, dessert menu, etc. I ordered a variety of food: 14 OZ GRILLED PRIME RIBEYE & EGGS O/D CAGE FREE ORGANIC EGGS / Crispy Sicilian Breakfast Potatoes. The steak was tender and flavorful. I had the eggs cooked sunny side up. The potatoes were cooked nicely as well. PEPPERONI & CRIMINI MUSHROOM PIZZA D/G/O San Marzano Tomato Sauce / Marinated Mozzarella Fresca. The pizza was delicious and had a very thin crust. So if you enjoy the flavor of good pizza without the extra carbs, the pizza at Paradiso pizza is perfect. RIGATONI BOLOGNESE VG/D/O Homemade Red Wine Sugo: Wagyu Beef - Veal - Italian Sausage / Reggiano Parmesan / Basil. Believe it or not, I think this my favorite dish. While all the food was good, this red sauce with meat along with the rigatoni cooked al dente was awesome. CAESAR SALAD G/S/D/VG Baby Hearts of Romaine / Focaccia Garlic Croutons/ Parmesan Cheese /Shallots /Spanish White Anchovies. This was one of the best salads I've ever had. Very tasty along with the fresh anchovies. Tiramisu: excellent dessert. I highly recommend. The service was superb. The staff were all very friendly. Paradiso is a must visit for great Italian American food.

Came in with reservations, so Shirley helped for a party of five. We receded right away and greeted right away. Fast and friendly service. We ordered beet salad, brussels sprouts and calamari for appetizers. Brussels sprouts we're supposed to be honey glaze, but it didn't taste any honey. Calamari was good and lightly breaded meat salad was amazing. Seafood fettuccine was amazing with many fresh seafood ingredients, lamb shank was tender and cooked perfectly, braised short ribs, or probably the best dish with the cheesy polenta and the ravioli was also amazing. The service is always good and the manager always comes to check to make sure everything is as well. The restaurant is got a great ambience and festive atmosphere.

I never knew San Leandro had such a wonderful Italian restaurant until now. Right when you walk it felt like some good things happen here. Our server was Thomas H. shout out to you, thanks for the amazing service! This was by far the best Italian food I have had in years. I can say this with a clear mind because we all tasted each others food. A Few minutes after being seated much of the bar seating was gone. All the while people kept arriving into the main dining area. There was some very nice background music being played, I could swear every song I heard was "my song". This place is a winner!

It was my first time here and Natalie was great. Her recommendations were awesome. The Lamb chop was amazing! The calamari melts in your mouth. Amazing place. Highly recommended.

With outstanding food and customer service, Paradiso is a San Leandro neighborhood gem! If you're looking for an upscale spot to enjoy a good dinner and drinks or to celebrate a special occasion, you've come to the right spot. I haven't had a dish here that didn't hit the spot. If you're unsure, be sure to ask your server for recommendations. Looking forward to the next time I come back!

Dinner in San Leandro, California... I was with my cousin and his wife who recommended that we dine at Paradiso Restaurant... okay! One good thing was that there's free metered street parking after 6pm. The interior of the restaurant was quite elegant and nicely air-conditioned! We had: Tempura Portobello Mushrooms with Chimichuri sauce, Fried oysters, Crab and Avocado Salad, rack of lamb, and scallops. Wow... fancy, right! For dessert, we shared a Peach and Blueberry Cobbler with vanilla gelato... and black cherry and chocolate gelato... it was a sweet ending to a wonderful meal! Service was top notch! Everything was tasty and had beautiful presentation! Thanks to my cousins for a fabulous experience!

Great Italian fare prepared authentically and so well. We ordered the Meatball sandwich, the Rigatoni. Bolognese and the Focaccia . The meatball sandwich was so tasty and yet so filling with the bread being the star to keep it so light. The pasta was prepared with great care and the sauce was light and not heavy at all. The focaccia was also very good and the cheese on it was wonderfully delicious. We also tried their ice creams- I had the vanilla which was just so wonderfully light and smooth, just the way I love it. Gotta come here more often!

We had a great Christmas dinner on Saturday. I had the salmon which was delicious clam chowder and Caesar as well. All top-notch. Appetizer was brussels sprouts and they were tremendous. 10 ounce Prime rib was cooked perfectly. Short rib with polenta was five stars. We've been there twice in two months. Great dessert, selection. I had spumoni gelato, wife had crustless pumpkin pie. Kids had tiramisu and chocolate cake, molten chocolate cake that is. I think this is going to become a regular thing for us!

"Radiant Vibes & Scrumptious Bites: The Perfect Work Party!" Our team came here for a work Christmas party during the lunch rush, and the experience was seamless from start to finish. Despite it being a busy holiday afternoon, we were seated exactly on time for our reservation. ​The atmosphere was radiant--the perfect vibe for a celebration. Our server was incredibly professional and respectful; he clearly knew the menu inside and out and gave us some excellent drink recommendations that were a hit with the whole group. ​Food & Drink Highlights: ​Crab Avocado Appetizer: Absolutely scrumptious. It's served as a single portion, but it's easy to cut and share if you want a taste. ​Chicken Piccata: Perfectly moist and packed with flavor. ​Salmon with Mash: A very tasty and well-executed dish. ​The Drinks: This was the real highlight for us! They have a huge selection to choose from, and the beer was exceptionally fresh. ​Whether you are looking for a place for a professional gathering, friends, or family, this spot delivers. Great food, even better drinks, and a wonderful staff!

We love Paradiso. It's such a local gem. Small parking lot in the back. We never had any issues with service here. They are attentive even during busy times. Complimentary bread (I wish it was served warm and toasty) Food is great here. We tried a variety of items. I will say the pizza is hit or miss sometimes. Our most recent visit the pizza was floppy and wasn't crispy. Full bar and extensive wine list. Drinks are good. They have weekend brunch menu and a special prex fixe menu for $45 daily between 4-5 pm.

Today the five of us came for lunch to celebrate our friend's birthday. This being one of her favorite restaurants. No easy task as we're coming from San Francisco, San Mateo, and Contra Costa counties. I'd been here for dinner a couple of times, but this was my first time for lunch. Ordered- * the braised short rib sliders by three friends * prime rib sandwich by another * I had the linguine seafood pasta. It was delicious. Plentiful variety including scallops, fish, prawns, squid, Dungeness crab, etc. I made three small meals out of this dish. Starters - * calamari fritti - small crispy rings * polenta sticks - three pieces served with diced tomatoes My friend and I both had chocolate martinis. The dessert was a slice of their tiramisu for our birthday girl. The server graciously brought over five spoons. It was a wonderful meal. A parking lot in back of the building. And another lot one block over.

I haven't had a bad experience here yet! GREAT food, great customer service. Perfect setting for a date night which is what I went for this last time. They were also very accommodating when I planned a party of 12 for a surprise birthday dinner about 2 years ago. I continue to recommend this place when in the East Bay.

This review is long overdue because, honestly, I've never had a bad experience at Paradiso. Every visit has been consistently excellent--the food is always cooked to perfection, and the service is always a solid 10. It's one of those rare places where you know you're going to leave satisfied, every single time. On my most recent visit, I tried the seafood pasta for the first time, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The flavors were spot on, and the seafood was fresh and perfectly cooked. We also ordered the prime rib sandwich, which was incredibly flavorful and tender--definitely something I'd get again. The only item we were a little unsure about was the deviled eggs. They weren't bad by any means, just had a unique taste that might not be for everyone--and I've tried quite a few deviled eggs in my time! As for drinks, mine was so perfectly made that I ended up ordering a second one. It hit all the right notes without being too strong or too sweet. Overall, Paradiso continues to be a standout right in San Leandro. Great food, great drinks, relaxing vibe, and amazing service. A definite go-to spot in my book!

Wanted to like the food more but it wasn't for me. The Arancelli appetizers were good. Nice glass of prosecco, filled all the way to the top. Nice wait staff, nice ambiance ... But ... the entree was not for me. I got the sole ... the portion size was substantial, but for sole it was humongous in size. Really thick like a swordfish steak and maybe because it was so thick, I could barely taste the seasoning on the fish ... said butter and garlic but didn't taste that at all ... and whatever the sauce was that it sat in ... was also bland and out of place. Both the spinach and potatoes needed salt ... or some type of complementary seasoning ... and the potatoes were lukewarm ... I should have sent it back, but my conversation with my dinner companion made me forget and we didn't have a whole lot of time to wait for another order .. Very disappointing and not sure if I'll be back for dinner there. Update: We'll see ... A friend of mine who has, like me, considered this a nice spot in the past. Wants to give this a second chance and take me there tonight, 9/25, for my birthday. If the food is better, then I will update my review to reflect that!

Service! Ours was disgusting! And all the manager said on my review was THANKS FOR COMING!!! Unbelievable! It has been awhile but never looked at her response till just tonight! NEVER EVER COMING BACK! $500 later they did not give a darn, being disabled, I was made to stand for a long time! Would not let me sit in a chair available! I should have contacted the ADA! They deleted my husband's review!!!! He got horrible food poisoning!!! You should be ashamed of yourselves! Are you going to delete this as well? Do and you will be sorry! Thanks for your disgusting service!

Came in for brunch with a reservation. Unfortunately, some people cancelled last-minute so I had to tell them 15 minutes before the reservation time, but they were very accomodating and understanding. Our waitress Natalie was fantastic! Would definitely love to come back and receive her service again. Could never go wrong with Paradiso's seafood fettuccine.

We came as part of a graduation party. Despite the prefixed menu, they offered my wife the prime rib at no additional cost because she is pregnant. The prime rib was so good that even the leftovers were amazing!

Everything about this restaurant is a Michelin restaurant except missing the Michelin Star. Starting from reservations, the follow up, the hostess, the server, the helpers, the food , and the ambiance. Try it and you will go back.

Took a friend here for his birthday and we were pleasantly suprised. It was a crowded Saturday night. I had made reservations the day of, but it is best to make it earlier to get more slot times. I ordered the lamb shank which was very tender, juicy and flavorful. Compared to having another restaurant's lamb shank that week, this outdid it by far. My friend had ordered a prime rib rare but it came out medium and so he sent it back. However since that was the last prime rib, my friend had to order another dish all together. Now what amazed all of us was the level of service displayed by the manager (Allen? Its been a while!) who promptly came by and communicated that they were sorry for the mistake and got a round of drinks for us on the house. Not only that, but he gave my friend a devils egg appetizer dish to snack on while he waited for his rack of lamb (also hit high marks!). Professional communication at the highest of levels. This type of service is what truly makes this place special. Not only did the manager come out to check in on us, the chef also did as well! With great food and even better service, I am a raver of this place. Happy to tell others about this place and I will be coming back for more.

Celebrating an anniversary & it was such a nice gesture to have received complimentary Champagne & even a gift card. It's been a long time since I've been back & so glad Paradiso is still going strong since 1996. They recently remodeled 9 months ago & it looks so spacious & modern. Orders: Bread (available upon request) Petrale Sole w/capers, spinach & mashed potato- delightfully crisp capers & sole, well seasoned & an item u would reorder again. Everything is so fresh you. An immediately taste the difference. Chicken Paradiso-a creamy chicken dish w.mashed potato, broccoli, string beans & carrots. A well curated dish that is a staple at Paradiso & it's no wonder why bc of the comfort & goodness this dish brings. On another note, when I went to use the restroom, I was intoxicated with bleach & had to hold my breath. While I appreciate the health & safety of the bathroom, I think they need to rethink the toxic hazard that one breathes when using the restroom. But other than that I think Paradiso is a hidden gem in San Leandro.

Great and friendly service. It is very spacious and has a variety of seating areas. The red sauce ravioli was phenomenal. The mozzarella one tasted fine. It was gooey and cheesy, which I'm a huge fan of, butttt...the pricing for the amount of ravioli is wild. $30 for like 9 pieces, broo c'mon. I get it, maybe it's for the experience with the great service, good vibes, and the pasta is homemade, but if you're going for pasta, just go to Gypsy's in Berkeley for a fat amount of it. The pasta tasted fine here at Paradiso, but I don't think it's worth coming here for pasta. 4.0 Stars for the restaurant itself 3.5 Star for the pasta

Came here to celebrate my birthday! We were seated in the back. It's a nice space. Food came out quickly and tasted good. I look forward to returning and trying out more food items.

Amazing food and service! Calamari - lightly battered and fried, seasoning flavorful, calamari tender Garlic prawns - huge prawns, buttery garlic sauce was fully soaked up by bread, can't waste it! Wagyu sliders - OK, out was so juicy that the bottom bun dissolved, maybe a lettuce to block the juice would've been good. Taste wise I didn't feel that it was too special Half chicken - well seasoned and perfectly juicy. Polenta was buttery and veggies nice compliment All cocktails involving mezcal were amazing mixology level Service was very attentive and quick, food came out quick and amazing quality as well Overall a great experience, I'd recommend for special occasions!

We came with a group of 6 adults and 2 kids; everyone had a blast and enjoyed their meals! Great service, our server went out of her way to listen to the kids and they loved it! The food was amazing! Wonderful spot.

An enigma. And a never again. Rustic fancy restaurant in mildly seedy San Leandro with prices that eclipse the fine dining found in Palo Alto, Walnut Creek, Danville, or San Francisco, which are our usual destinations. I would say 20-40% more than a comparable establishment. These guys must have been in the airport business! Chicken for $41? Seafood Fettuccine for $49? Pasta Bolognese for $34? Pork for $49? Well the apps and salads are priced in line with other fine dining. We had the mussels. The mussels were tasty but the "broth" was very heavy, something you are going to leave in the bowl. Think refined marinara sauce, not delicious delicate broth you can drink up. Portion size fair. We had the Chicken Piccata. For $34, it was misspelled on the menu, and the sauce/chicken was over-salted. Sub french fries were excellent. Portion size was good. If there's bread pudding on the menu, we always have it. They had it, and we had it, and it was the best ever. Server was wonderful. We sat at the bar which I thought was more refined than the dining room. I would have been captivated by the counter if it was a chef's counter, but its more of a bus station counter. Sigh

2.2.25 We came here as a group of 8 to celebrate my 40th birthday!! The place was busy on a Sunday night, we thankfully had a reservation and we didn't have to wait for our table. The bread and water came out right away which was nice. The food...delicious . The lamb with the risotto was delicious. Lamb was not gamey at all. Risotto was perfectly cooked. My 11 year old loved the butternut squash ravioli and the clam chowder. My husband said that his frutti de Mari was delicious-generous with their seafood. The steak was perfectly cooked. The Sangria was..okay. I wish I ordered another drink. To end the night, we ordered molten cake which was delicious, and the complimentary tiramisu is so good!! I'm so happy that they gave me a free dessert to celebrate my birthday, made my night for sure. We would totally come back here again.

Date: 11/26/2024 Time: 6:35 PM Cool The last time I dined at Paradiso was exactly 14 years ago for my 59th birthday. Guess what? I am back to let y'all know I am here again for my 73rd birthday. However, this time around was special, and to be treated like a queen, it was so memorable. I had already perused the menu on Paradiso's before arriving. I knew what specialty I wanted from this Italian restaurant - my usual Arnold Palmer and cioppino. Is the Arnold Palmer still refreshing after all the many years that I have not dined here? I stayed away too long. The Arnold Palmer has passed the test. Every restaurant I had dined at in the past, I always order the "Palmer" to determine if the quality of the food is to my liking. Eats: Cioppino. Yes, I had my share of cioppino at several different restaurants. One of the restaurants in Alameda calls this dish Brodetto Alla Vastese. I love cioppino, a seafood stew, similar to the French bouillabaise. The cioppino was absolutely delicious. The bowl was filled with an assortment of seafood and grilled Italian bread. The tomato baste broth had a slight kick of spiciness. Yum...nom, nom, nom. My date had the Canadian king salmon with an accompaniment of polenta. He enjoyed his dinner. Presentation of his meal had me salivating. I should have stuck my fork in it, just to sneak a taste. Naw, I did not want him to roar like a tiger and say it's mine. LOL. Thereafter I was served a complimentary dessert, tiramisu, a delightful and delicate cake with mascarpone cheese and topped with expresso powder. Okay, another dessert item I had a taste for was the affogato. I haven't had an affogato for about eight years. The affogato is hazelnut or vanilla gelato and dark expresso. It had a pirouette cookie. Wonderful dessert, indeed. Service was great. The waitress was friendly and personable. I am just over joy to have a special birthday dinner at Paradiso. I can't say for sure when I will visit Paradiso again. Buon appetito.

This is a great local Italian restaurant that we enjoy to frequent about every 2 months or so. Once you enter, you see the pride that everyone has for the place they work in. We really enjoy the servers and well curated dishes. We are so glad you are here!

Nice restaurant, older vintage esthetic, my server wasn't attentive at all and made us wait a long time in between check ins so I ended up not ordering an appetizer or drinks, which somewhat put a damper on the experience but I would still come back to try other things. I ordered the seafood pasta. It was pretty bland not much flavor, we were not offered Parmesan cheese and I could tell that was missing. My daughter had the clam chowder. She didn't finish hers but she says she enjoyed it. As far as the restaurant itself, it was a small quant establishment with families enjoying meals together which was nice to see. Parking wasn't too bad either

Beautiful environment & exceptional service make this a great location for a nice meal. Our waitress was exceptional! I'm sure it was challenging to handle my table because I was so busy talking to my guest. But, she was a pro.. regularly checking in and moved the dinner with no delays when I came up for air. The appetizers ordered were good & great. Caesar salad, Clam Chowder, and the great crab & avacado salad. Main dish was.. not quite..I had the seafood fettuccine. The seafood was cooked perfectly, unfortunately the pasta was under cooked (I'd say by 3min). Not a mistake that should be made. Other dish was ravioli... both pasta dishes were taken home. 2 min in the microwave fixed the pasta. Would probably order a different main for future, but really enjoyed the overall of this restaurant.

Dined here for our 7 yr anniversary. I made a note of it when I made the reservation and they acknowledged it when we arrived which was appreciated. We were shown to our seats and soon after was given olive and focaccia bread. Our waitress was very nice. She asked if we were celebrating an occasion and after telling her brought us some complimentary champagne. We started with drinks and I got a bourbon strawberry drink (can't remember the name of it) and it was very good. For dinner my fiancée ordered Lemon Ricotta raviolis and I got the Chicken Paradiso. The veggies were cooked perfectly. The chicken was nicely seasoned and the sauce was very good. My only gripe was the sauce was kinda liquidly. Everything was great though. Upon paying the bill our waitress gave us a gift card as an anniversary gift. Was expected and extremely generous. Overall great experience!

We eat here a lot and have never had bad service or food, always amazing. However on Friday, 02/02/26 we had the most amazing server. I don't usually callout individuals unless they really go over and above. Erin did just that. I am known for having fun and sometimes not able to control what falls out of my mouth. Most people take it as play, some get offended even though it was never meant to be offensive. Erin on the other hand was a one of a kind. Never lost her smile and played back. I highly recommend asking for her to be your server if you make a reservation, you will not regret it. To the manager and owner, fantastic hire, kudos to you both for the not only hiring her, but for the entire team you have put together.

I came here the other night with my family for an early dinner. What we ordered clam chowder, golden beet salad, and linguine frutti de mare. My experience with the food was not the best. The golden beet salad had blue cheese. Who puts blue cheese in it. It over powered the beets and not everyone likes blue cheese. It's an acquired taste for sure. The clam chowder was over powered by pieces of bacon. They only gave you 3 shells of clams. Wow. Linguine frutti de mare, was also another sad dish. It literally came out as two dishes. A bowl of soup and boiled linguine noodles on the side. What is this???? They literally poured cioppino in a bowl and called it "frutti de mare" and the boiled block of noodles had pieces of broccoli bits in it. I was literally shocked to see my entree. It was worth the price either. Very disappointed. Will I be back again? No.

Service was excellent as was the food and drinks. Not too expensive. Handicapped parking was available and we parked right near the back door. It was a Saturday afternoon and the back door was locked. When I asked a kitchen staff person to let us in, he said we had to go around to the front door. Not an easy thing for persons with mobility problems.

A group of Us got together for a friend's birthday here in San Leandro. We were all pleased with our food and drinks The manager gave us warm olives in olive oil as a gift whilst we waited for our food... their bread offering was also nice with two different kinds to choose from. The waitress got lost as our water glasses went dry and bottles of water were depleted. Andrew the manager quickly came over and replenished our drinks as well as getting the server to start pulling dirty plates and any other items that were completed. Boxed our left overs as well. The birthday girls cookie ring and ice cream was very artsy and the vanilla bean ice cream was delicate and delightful. I do recommend

No, you don't have to go to the city for an excellent meal, as I found out by going to Paradiso recently with my husband. The food was absolutely delicious- clam chowder, brussels sprouts, chicken picatta and seafood fettuccini. Finished with a seasonal made on site desert, pumpkin flan. Everything was fresh and not one complaint. Highly recommend! I would take off a half star as service was a little slow and it was cold inside. The server asked for our appetizer order without asking for our entree order. So we had to wait for the appetizers to come out and finish; then wait to order our entrees and wait for that. Not a major deal, the great food made up for it. Definitely going back!
