Paradisus Palma Real Golf & Spa Resort

I returned to Paradisus in the Dominican Republic to celebrate my 50th birthday, and after seven years away, I can say it absolutely did not disappoint! From the moment I arrived, the front desk provided an immediate, warm welcome that set the tone for the entire stay. The highlight of my trip was being paired with the most amazing concierge, Alam. He is truly exceptional. Alam has an incredible spirit and a way of making you feel like his absolute priority, even though he was managing several other guests. He ensured every single one of my needs was taken care of with genuine care. Alam’s level of service "caused an uproar" in the best way possible—he truly made the experience memorable. Anyone lucky enough to be helped by him will be well taken care of. The resort itself is beautiful and breathtaking. It was the perfect backdrop to commemorate my 50th birthday. I had a truly amazing time and I will absolutely be back!

From the moment we arrived, the service at this hotel was truly unmatched. The staff provided constant attention in the most professional and warm way — always present when needed, but never intrusive. Every detail felt thoughtfully handled, making our stay incredibly relaxing. I have to highlight Arisleda, who was nothing short of amazing. She consistently checked up on us, made sure we had everything we needed, and went above and beyond to make us feel cared for. Her kindness, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality elevated our entire experience. It’s rare to meet someone so dedicated to their guests’ comfort. I also want to mention Rosanna , who greeted us daily for breakfast and gave us the best service we would have asked for at the lunch box ! She made us feel so welcomed If you’re looking for a hotel with exceptional service and staff who truly care, this is the one. We will absolutely be returning

This is my second time staying at this hotel, and honestly, it is still beautiful, very nice, and well maintained. The food is excellent, everything tastes great, and the staff is always kind and attentive. This time, I had the opportunity to meet new members of the entertainment team, and they are truly professional and do an amazing job. I met Fernando Chispa, who taught me bachata perfectly; now I know how to dance bachata, and I feel like a genius on the dance floor. I would definitely love to come back again.

Family of 4 six night vacation 24-30 Dec 2025, we chose the (EJS) Reserve Junior Suite Garden View category room x 2 for two parents + 21 y/o daughter and 18 y/o son Christmas vacation. This cost a lot but we enjoyed every minute. Each restaurant offered delicious meals, we almost always ordered different entries, and shared the starters and desserts loved the whole food experience. The pool experience was great, as long as you’re familiar with the resort style land grab, pick where you want to spend the day before you go to breakfast! That said, the pools and beach always have enough places to relax for everyone. The staff throughout the property was always pleasant, helpful and accommodating, I could not ask for more from them. Our visit included Father/son golf at Cocotal twice, easy going atmosphere, practice range is available, start time is not absolute, the reviews on cost are accurate, I was glad we brought our own clubs, drinks and food might be included in the cost of golf but we just drank water so maybe not. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Update: After my initial review, the resort manager took time to personally speak with us, listen to our concerns, and work toward addressing them. That effort was appreciated, and some staff did go out of their way to make us comfortable. Housekeeping made sure they did not use strong chemicals so it felt safe for our kids. Eduard (customer relations) is new and is committed to elevating this property to Melia luxury standards. Despite some initial hiccups we had a great time and hospitality was on point after our conversation with Eduard. I am writing this review as I am staying at this property. I think all the positive reviews are from the folks staying at the reserve side - maybe?. We've stayed at luxury Melia resorts and this ain't one. Rooms are old and worn (they do not look like the images on the website at all), staff is rude, they didn't honor any of the extras that we were supposed to get with our booking, they never stocked our minibar, and the room had an extremely strong odor of chemicals when we entered - we had to air it for many hours and it still lingered (housekeeping didn't want to do anything about it - after several calls, we gave up). May be we are paying brown tax - because I see several reviews where folks got excellent service. I actually had to tell the person who was at the towel booth to be polite and not be rude to me. Food is decent for an all inclusive. Location is great - it is one of the resorts that clears all the sargassum using an automatic weed harvester.

Stayed for 7 nights ( First week of DEC 2025) Great resort with amazing staff, but buffet needs improvement Overall, my stay at the resort was perfect. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the entire property was very clean and well maintained. The à la carte restaurants were very good and offered great quality and service. The only area that really needs improvement is the buffet. The quality of the buffet food was low, and most of the time it didn’t feel fresh. Items like ribs, pork, chicken, and fish were often cold, which was disappointing. Recommendation: It would be great if the resort added soft-drink fountains and self-serve coffee machines. This would reduce the pressure on servers and allow them to provide better, more attentive service. Guests could still order alcoholic and specialty drinks from the staff, while handling simple beverages themselves. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and hope to see these improvements in the future.

The Paradisus hotel is a real gem in the Dominican Republic. The beach is simply spectacular: white sand, crystal-clear waters, and a postcard-perfect landscape that leaves you speechless. It is, without a doubt, one of the best coastal areas I have ever visited. What made my stay truly special was Fernando "Chispa". What an energy! He is an exceptional entertainer who keeps the joy alive at all times and makes every activity fun. His charisma truly sets the hotel's service apart.
